Community center, Mimi's POV
"Oh my god!" I spun around and threw my arms around Rogers neck and kissed him hard. "Of course I'll marry you!" He slid the simple diamond onto my finger. He pressed his lips against mine again.
"I love you Meems."
"I love you Rogy."
Community Center, Angel's POV
"Okay guys, we're headed home." I pulled my daughter in for a hug. "Will you be alright staying at the loft with everyone? I hear there's an engagement party I'm going to be missing." I muttered in her ear as I kissed her goodnight. She nodded.
"Go home and celebrate your wedding night Mom, okay? Leah and I even set the room up for you, okay? Dont worry about us." I smiled and kissed her head again, pulling Leah in for a hug as well. She relaxed into my embrace as I stroked her hair gently. I don't think the two of them had been seperated all night long, At all.
"Your school stuff is already at the loft, both of you, so we'll see you in three or four days, right?" Thomas slipped an arm around my waist and kissed my cheek. The girls nodded. Ashlyn had packed their bags the day before and sent them on with before he left for the loft yesterday.
"Yes, we know. Everything s all taken care of Mom, we already cleaned up, the wedding cake is packed, ready for you to take home and put in the frezzer, all the decorations are in Joanne's van, ecetera, ecetera. Now go home and spend your wedding night together. Alright?" Tom pulled Ashlynn in for a tight hug.
"I love you Baby Girl." He kissed her cheek and she smiled broadly.
"Love you too Daddy." He smiled and pulled Leah into his chest too.
"Thank you Leah. We'll see you two soon." Leah nodded and pulled away. I pulled Ashlynn back to me and kissed her head once again.
'Love you Little Love." She smiled again and kissed my cheek softly,
"Love you too Mom, I'll see you soon, now get out!" I laughed and grabbed Tom's hand as we headed outside to the white limo that would tak us home.
The Loft (Aka: Marquez-Davis residence) Ashlynn's POV
I slid my dress over my head and was showered with little bits of rice, and sparkles. I watched Leah struggle with the zipper for a few minutes with severe amusement. I pulled a purple Cami out of my bag and pulled it on over my head, shaking my waist length hair out of the bun I had piled it into. I wasn't you typical girly girl. I liked wearing shorts and pants, dressing up wasn't really my thing, although I did sometimes. Tight jeans, boy shorts, low cut tank tops, and camis were my trademarks. During the summer I wore a lot of short shorts too. I stared at the love of mylife witha firm appriciation as she fially stepped out of her dress and pulled on a skirt. (We weren't done partying, even though it was ten at night)
Leah wore a lot of long fabricy skirts that showed off and clung to her perfect legs and just right hips. She wore alot of almost long sleves too. Alot of sweaters. Tight, pretty sweaters that accentuated every part of her very feminine body. Her blonde hair flowed down her shoulders in soft, silky waves and touched the middle of her back. She usually took and barrete and pulled half of it up and clipped it. It was quick, and could be easily adjusted as she had once explained. She pulled on a pale blue sweater and pulled the sleeves halfway up her forearms. I smiled and slid into the rhinestone studded jeans that clung to my skin, very tightly. Mom made then for me on my fifteenth birthday. She had a pair like them too.
Leah smiled at me and walked over holding a small box.
"You know what tonight is right?"
"Mhhm. Our six month anniversary. How could I forget. I bent down and pulled something out of the bag. Earrings, for Leah. Pretty gold hoops, that she could wear to the end of year dance at the end of this year. I had seen her oogling them in the store three months ago, I started saving immedeately. It had only taken me two months to save up the money I needed to buy them. She took them gingerly and held out the box for me to take. A heart shaped gold locked was perched inside the box, propped up on a mound of silk and lace. I picked it up and turned it in my hand.
"I love you with everything I have to give." I smiled and set the box down on the couch in Mimi and Rogers spare bedroom, the couch Leah an I would be sleeping on. How I had no idea, unless it was a pull out and no one ever told me. I pulled her to me and kissed her hungrily on the mouth. "I love you Leah." She smiled and opened the box, staring at the dangle diamond earrings. I picked the locket back up and opened it. It had four windows. One was a picture of everyone in my little family. Even Miguel and Alicia. The second was a picture of Mom and Dad kissing each other softly on the lips, the other picture was one of Leah, Mom, Dad, and myself, playing in the snow. The last picture was one of my favorites. It was Leah and I, I was standind behind her, with my arms around her waist, smiling. She had both of her hands on my wrists and was almost doubled over, pulling away from me, so she could look behind herslef at me.
"I love it baby, thank you." I clasped the locked around my neck and picked up Leah's wool scarf, and my skin tight leather jacket. I smiled as I wound the scarf around her neck for her and kissed her again.
Collin's residence, Tom's POV
Angel shifted beside me in her sleep and threw an arm over my stomach. I smiled and craddled her gently. I thought I was wrong in letting Angel marry me, but it turned out to be a really good plan. We were both ecstacially happy. The phone rang and I rolled my eyes, hurrying to get to the phone so it didn't wake my Angel.
"Who the fuck do you think you are? Calling this God damn late at night. Some people are tryi-"
"Daddy!" Ashlynn sounded upset, I could tell something was bothering her.
"What's wrong baby girl?"
"It's Leah. She locked herself in the closet in the guest room and we can't get her to come out. I'm really worried about her daddy." Aw, fuck, I had a really bad feeling about this.
"Why, what happened Sweetie?"
"Well, her mom died of a heart attack and she got the call from her older brother just a bit ago. Now she won't talk to anyone, not even me. Maybe she'll talk to you, will you please come over here?"
"I'll be there in five minutes."
"And dad?"
"Yes baby?"
"Thanks, I love you."
"Love you too." I set the phone down carefully. I grabbed a peice of paper and scribbled a note for Angel, kissed her head gently and left.
Marquez/Davis residence, Tom's POV
When I got to the loft everyone was crammed in the little guest room except for Ashlynn who was furiously wiping tears off her face.
"C'mere baby girl." I pulled her into a hug and kissed her head. Ashlynn had always been the clingy type with Angel and I, only because I suspected, she hurt so much when we adopted her, and she needed that extra insurance and comfort.
"I don't know what todo Dad, what can I do to make her stop hurting?"
"Love her, it's what your mother did for me."
I let her go and took her hand, we walked into the room and everyone stepped out gracefully. I went to the door. "Leah, sweetie, come out of the closet, please?" I stiffled a giggle, and looked back at my daughter, who was smiling as well. "Leah, please come out of there. We're worried."
"Professor Collins?" She was crying, I could tell, even with the door muffiling her voice.
"Yeah, it's me. Remember what we talked about? I'm sorry you didn't get that chance, but I know how you feel. Please come out honey." The door creaked open a little bit and Leah came out, her eyes practically swollen shut and hurled herself at the first person she felt, which happened to be me. I hugged her tightly and looked at Ashlynn, who stepped over to me and pulled Leah into her arms, both of them falling onto the pulled out couch. I sat down beside them and put a hand on her shoulder, squeezing it gently.
"I'm sorry about your mom Leah." I stroked her hair as I whispered to her. Ashlynn held her as close as possible and rubbed her back.
"I can't believe she's really gone. I can't believe it. I never got to say goodbye." Leah whimpered into Ashlynn's hair. She lifted her head up.
"Baby, I'm so sorry about Kelly. I know you wanted to say goodbye, but she practically disowned you!" Ashlynn muttered softly, still holding onto Leah.
"Yeah, you're right. Why am I still crying? It dosen't even hurt that much." Leah attempted a pretty smile. I grinned back at her and hugged them both.
"I'll see you two tomorrow, right?" Ash and Leah nodded and I kissed both their foreheads.
"Get some sleep alright?" They nodded again and I walked out of the door.
Marquez/Davis residence, Ashlynn's POV
I frowned and wrapped my arms arpund Leah's frame. She had fallen asleep after Dad left earlier. I kissed the back of her head softly and stroked her bare stomach. I knew she was upset about mom, but I refused to let it ruin her life. Her mother had treated her like shit, and threw her out of the house, just because Leah confideded inher that she was a lesbian.
I sighed and rubbed the bridge between my eyes.
I jumped a bout a mile when the phone rang. I grabbed it bfore it could wake my sleeping lover. "Hello?" I glanced at the clock. It was seven thirty in he morning.
"They took Eric!" Aunt Joanne sounded absolutely distraught. "THey came to the house and took him away from us.
"Who took him? What are you talking about Aunt Jo?" I heard Aunt Maureen screaming in the background. Aunt Joanne kept crying.
"SS, they came five minutes ago, made Maureen pack a bag and said that we had an inappropriate living enviroment for a baby and they took him away from us! They said we could go to court to get him back." I made a shushing noise to calm her and pulled away from Leah, taking the cord to the phone as far out as it would go.
"Are you serious? Aunt Jo you're a lawyer, you know better than anyone what to do!" I rubbed my eyes, this was turning out to be a really bad weekend.
"Ash, I don't know what to do! Maureen got her oncology results back friday, and we weren't going to tell anyone until after the wedding, but now they took Eric, and I have no idea how we're going to afford all this. I can't be my own lawyer, that's like commiting suicide and,"
"Aunt Jo, Shut up a minute! Let me talk to aunt Maureen."
"Ashlynn? This is terrible! They took my baby!" I made the shushiong noises again I sighed dramatically when Leah woke up from her peaceful slumber. I motioned for her to stay quiet.
"Aunt Maureen, what was Aunt Jo talking about when she said oncology?" I feared the answer and immedeatly regretted asking the question.
"I have cancer."
"Obivously, or you wouldn't have gotten tested. Is that what happened, that the cild services got you test results?"
Believe it or not, I was utterly calm through all of this. Calmer than Joanne, calmer than Mo, calmer than My mom would have been. Daddy would have been proud of me. I wasn't that I wasn't scared, no, I had always dealt with stressful situations exceptionaly well. Even when I was younger. I could always remain calm, but only if I had too. Noramally I'm exceptionally hyper.
"I think so, yeah. The doctors are required to send them updates about our health." I sighed. This would be hard then, I wish I had my egree already, I would rep them.
"Okay, I want you too calm down, I'll be over as soon as Leah and I get some clothes on, alright?"
"Okay."
Oh and did I mention that this week wasn' looking any better?
