Chapter Three

Peter was shocked as he looked up from Dash and was shocked to see Violet standing behind her parents.

~

Peter groaned into his hands. He couldn't believe the bad luck his other self had, it was painful to watch.

The others simply chuckled at the scene before them.

~

"Violet? This is your family?" Peter asked in shock, confusing the other members.

"You two met before?" Helen asked, looking back and forth between the two of them.

"We met on the school bus on the way to school back on Monday." Violet explained to her parents.

"Yeah, we talked and got to know each other a little on the way to school." Peter added with a smile, and a whole lot of nervousness if she were to bring up everything he's been doing.

They all took a seat around the table and May luckily had a highchair for Jack-Jack and brought a bunch of Chinese takeout boxes for dinner.

"Simple meal shared amongst new friends, right?" Aunt May said in an optimistic tone.

The Parr's agreed and Peter was more than happy because Chinese food might as well be the secret to existence for him. They were all enjoying the food and began trying to start some small talk.

~

"And things will go wrong in 3, 2, 1." Nova countered down with his fingers. This resulted in Peter glaring at him, while the others couldn't help but agree with Nova. Peter has the worst luck most had ever seen.

~

"So, Peter, you and Violet go to the same school?" Helen asked Peter.

"Yeah. She and I have some of the same classes." Peter answered.

"Peter even started staying after school to help with tutoring." May cheered while Peter was busy munching on his Chinese food to react to what May said.

"Tutoring?" Violet asked out of confusion. "Our school doesn't have tutoring."

~

"Oh, not looking so good for you huh Parker?" Cloak said.

"I'll say." Dagger added in her two cents.

"Man, Spidey, your other is in quite a pickle." Luke said.

Peter groaned at this. He could already tell this was going to get worse.

~

Peter then suddenly choked on a piece of food he tried his best to quickly swallow. "Yes. Yes, it does. There's a small after school tutoring club, started up recently." He piped in after dislodging the orange chicken out of his windpipe.

"No...it doesn't exist, I'm familiar with almost every club in school. Mom tried to get me into a few of them." Violet responded and ended up with not only May, but the elder Parr's to look in a bit of confusion as to what's going on.

"I thought you said you were volunteering to tutor at your school?" May said looking at Peter who began to suddenly sweat through his outfit.

~

"Busted~!" Agent Venom said in a sing-song voice.

"Who's side are you on?!" Peter shouted.

~

"Uh...uh..."Peter stammered, trying to figure out what to say.

"Actually, while we're on the subject, what was that stuff you were working on in chemistry?" Violet pressed more, causing Peter's heart to race even faster.

~

"Add salt on the wound, why don't yay." Peter deflated.

~

'Ooh, it's all starting to fall apart already. Not even half an hour into dinner.' Peter internally panicked as he began to try to think of some way to get out of the conversation.

~

"You said it, me." Peter said. Agreeing with his dimensional counterpart.

~

"Chemistry? What is she talking about?" May asked Peter, only causing him to become even more brain dead, no idea what to say.

"Peter would work on something under his desk after he finishes his assignments, quicker than everyone else in the room." Violet responded, causing everyone to begin looking at Peter, who feels he has been backed into a corner.

~

"Y'know that does seem rather suspicious. I'm surprised no one has found out about it." Iron Spider said.

"Well, it was something I had to worry about before I joined SHIELD. Especially whenever MJ was around. But now that I'm working for SHIELD and Aunt May knows who I am, I don't have to worry about it as much." Peter admitted.

"The point still stands, you have to be careful when you work on your hero life. You can never be too careful." Fury said.

The students of the academy nodded at what the director had to say.

~

"Peter, is there something you haven't been telling your aunt?" Helen asked.

"Uh..." Peter has no idea what to respond, just as his savior comes as a doorbell ringing. "Hey, I wonder who that is! I'll go get it!" He said a little hastily as quickly as he could while he went to the door to answer.

Once he opened the door, he was bet by a suave looking black man in a blue sweater with a smile. Listening to his senses, Peter sees there's something up with this guy, but nothing actually threatening. And it feels like he's seen this guy before.

~

Fury didn't know why, but he felt like he had a connection with that man. Weird.

~

"Hey. Is this the Parker residence?" The man asked Peter, making feel like he's heard that voice somewhere before.

"Yes, it is. I'm Peter." Peter introduced himself as the man held his hand out and Peter shook it.

"Lucius Best. It's a pleasure." Lucius introduces himself as Peter shakes his hand.

"Lucius, that you?" Bob Parr asks from the dining room.

"Yep, it's me. Just thought I'd drop by to meet your new neighbor." Lucius said as he sauntered into the dining room. "So, how's things going?"

"Well, apparently, my nephew has a secret that he's trying to keep." May said incredulously towards Peter who is starting to fall apart.

"Ooh, fill me in. This sounds like it'll be good." Lucius requested.

~

"Oh please no." Peter let out a whine.

Sam rolled his eyes, Peter could be the drama queen sometimes. "Oh relax Parker, it's not like things can get worse." He said.

Once those words left his mouth, everyone immediately turned to him and gave him disapproving frowns.

"Hey, why are you looking at me like that?" Sam asked, confused. Was it something he said?

"You had to go and say those forbidden words, didn't you?" Dagger scolded the last Nova Corps member. Said teen, simply looked at them with a confused expression.

~

"This guy made up that Vi's school has a tutoring club; he's doing secret things in school, and he comes home late. That is about it so far." Dash refreshed rapidly...a bit too rapidly for Peter's like, now seeing the entire room's finally gone against him.

"Hm. Quite a strange set of circumstances." Lucius pondered before he had this look flash across his face of realization as he proceeded to drag Bob to the next room over.

~

Peter groaned at this, not before glaring at Nova. Things are starting to get worse.

~

Peter used this as a distraction in order to leave the room and used his enhanced hearing to eavesdrop on the conversation.

The more they talked, the more nervous Peter began to get as he slowly backed off and went upstairs to his room. He quickly tried to pull together a story and heard his police scanner go off, not realizing that he left it on.

"Code 3-507, going through midtown, requesting backup." the scanner said.

~

"Ah gotta love a car chase." Squirrel Girl said. Her two furry companions nodded in agreement.

~

"507...that's a car chase." Peter correlated and quickly started to put his suit on and swung out his window and ended up hearing Aunt May talking to Helen downstairs through the kitchen window.

"Helen, should I be worried about Peter? He might be involved in dangerous things?" May asked with a worried tone in her voice.

"I wouldn't be. He might just be doing some things for his school." Helen responded in a calming tone.

Peter began to feel bad because the last thing he wanted to do was make Aunt May worry, especially after everything that happened with Ben. But he's interrupted when he heard the scanner on his phone go off again and he quickly made it through the city.

~

Peter was on the same boat as his counterpart, it was the only thing that he didn't like about being Spider-Man. He hated making her worry. Sure, the Aunt May in his world knows his identity, but that didn't make the situation any better.

Iron fist sensed his friend's discomfort and patted his back in comfort. Peter thanked Danny for that.

~

Swinging off several buildings, he made his way through the not so busy city and made it to where the car chase was happening. You could tell due to the fact they're shooting out the window to the police as if this was some comic book chase.

"Who tries to shoot and drive like that and not expect someone to try and stop them?" Peter asks as he makes his way closer towards the cars. Running over a rooftop, he does a quick flip off and dive bombed down and landed on top of the roof.

~

"You said it, me." Peter remarked. His friends also nodded at that.

~

"What was that?!" One of the masked goons inside the car asks.

One of them then looked out the window, where Peter quickly grabbed him by the collar and threw him from the car, and he quickly noticed he actually had a scorpion tattoo on his neck. That was followed by him shooting a web in-between the light post and a building, sticking the scorpion tattoo guy to the web.

"Did any of you guys pay attention to those stupid Drivers Ed videos in school?" Peter asks as another sticks their head out, this time with a gun out.

"It's the Spider-Kid!" He shouts and tries to shoot Peter, but he quickly took the gun and crushed it in his hand.

~

"It's Spider-Man!" Peter shouted. Annoyed that the bad guys got his name wrong.

~

"It's Spider-Man!" Peter corrects him before attaching a web to the back of his jacket and attaches the other end to another post and sends him sling shooting out of the car.

~

Peter turned away from everyone as his words were repeated on screen. His friends simply chuckled at that.

~

Left but not least being the driver, Peter grabbed him and yanked him out of the car, sending him tumbling and quickly shot his webs at the tires, quickly stopping them and the car.

Before the police could stop and take in the scene, Peter quickly sneaked off and left the scene.

~

Peter sighed, remembering

~

Peter returned home and was met with a quiet home with no one around and noticed he was out later than he expected.

Walking downstairs, May must've noticed he left and waited up for him as she was asleep on the couch.

Peter feels terrible for making her worry like this and wishes he could tell her the truth, but he doesn't want her to worry about him while he's trying to help others, or worse, try to stop him from helping others.

Grabbing a blanket, Peter places it over his sleeping aunt and pecks her cheek goodnight and heads up to bed to sleep.

~

Many smiled at the sight of Peter making sure his aunt was alright. Ava especially, as she remembers when did it once back when she and the others stayed with him for a while.

~

A while ago, the Parr family were on their way home after their strange dinner with the Parker's.

"Well, I say that was an eventful evening." Dash started a conversation.

"Yeah, eventful is the best I can say about it." Helen agreed.

Jack-Jack then babbled random noises as if to agree with them.

~

All of the women cooed at the sight.

~

"There seemed to be something off with that kid to me." Bob confessed how he felt.

"I think he's just still getting over the move." Helen took a wild guess. "He lost his parents, his uncle, and was forced to move to a new state. Can't be easy. What do you think, Vi?" She asked as she faced her daughter. "You see him in school every day. What's your thought on Peter?"

"He's...he's a strange guy, but I see he has a good heart." Violet decides that was the best way to answer it as she wasn't exactly close with Peter but had seen him around school and knows that's a good way to describe him.

~

"That's how most of us would describe him too." Squirrel Girl said.

Peter simply stares at her. "I don't know whether to take that as a compliment or as an insult." He said.

"Take it as both." Doreen replied.
