Hope you're liking the story for now! Here's the next chapter! If you can, please review. I find it very encouraging, criticism or not. And, as I was unsatisfied with how the cover art turned out, I changed it again (:
My uncle named his dogs Timex and Rolex. They're his watch dogs.
WARNING: There is vulgar language and this is my last warning... I think.
Bloom and Stormy spent the rest of the day faking Bloom's death. Stormy cast the illusion spell and Bloom slipped a sedative pill into the carcass's mouth before they left the body in the back of Sugar Cafe for some unfortunate soul to find.
Bloom decided to stay in a small cave deep in the Black Forest, a good distance away from Magix, the schools, and Shadowhaunt. Stormy had offered Bloom to stay at Shadowhaunt, but she wasn't ready to take that step, especially if Icy was around and Bloom's powers didn't work. That could end in chaos, as Bloom was sure that Icy would be quite irritated to see her, to say the least.
Stormy claimed that Icy would either be very angry to see Bloom, and probably try to freeze her, or she'd be a snickering mess, fantasizing a fight against the Winx with Bloom on their side. The later option would be better for Bloom, but Icy was hard to predict, so she wasn't taking the risk. Plus, seeing Darkar again would be so strange, and she knew she would feel awkward just standing around Shadowhaunt.
Bloom closed her eyes as she sat down on the hard ground along the edge of a running stream, her thoughts running wild. She felt guilty for taking a human life so brutally, but at the same time she felt a twisted satisfaction from doing so, and almost wanted more. Not to mention over the last day her interest in dark magic increased significantly.
How could I take pleasure in taking a life? This isn't right! But it's who you're meant to be, Bloom. But it's wrong! I killed someone and.. and.. You regret it? That's the thing! I don't regret it! It's horrible! Would you do it again? Maybe.. Then why not continue in these ways? It'll only will get better once you get your magic back. Why do I feel like I'm being torn in half?! You are rejecting your true nature. You're meant to be on the dark side! But what if it goes wrong? What if I end up in jail? What if I die in the process?
You see, with your power, it can't go wrong. But how do you know for sure?! Would have the Winx beat the Trix in your first year if you weren't there? I suppose not.. And whose magic were the Trix using? M-mine. But they were that strong.. why can't I use it properly? Simple. You had been using a positive energy when the core of your magic is negative. Even if you didn't know you were actually a witch, it didn't change your core. Plus, the Trix were more experienced. So.. I'll be more powerful if I use dark magic? Why do you think I was so powerful?
I still don't know how I feel about this... How did you feel after you killed Vanessa? Good, I guess... almost too good. How do you think you'd feel about killing someone else? Faragonda perhaps? Probably the same, to be honest. Your former friends, the Winx? I don't know.. Sky? I- I don't know! This is too much for me right now.. Fine! At least wash yourself though. You're covered in blood. Good idea.
Bloom quietly stripped herself of her bloodied dress and washed it in the clear water of the moonlit stream, just outside the cave she was staying in. Thankfully, since the dress was already the color of blood, whatever was left of the stains didn't show.
She then proceeded to rid herself of the rest of her clothing and wade into the water to wash herself. There was dried blood all up her arms and around her stomach, but she managed to clean herself to a point where all that was left were the faded red stains, which would wash away after a while.
After Bloom dried herself, she put on a pair of simple blue pajamas she had sneaked out of her dorm in Alphea earlier that night. It was risky, but she decided to do it anyway. In the end it payed off. She laid down on the grassy base of the cave, preparing to be washed into sleep.
Bloom closed her eyes and fell asleep almost immediately, eager to put her worries away for a little while. But deep inside, she knew the choice she was meant to make, and it went against everything she had fought for with the Winx.
Stormy smirked to herself as she changed out of her bloodstained clothing and hopped into the shower. She was eager to tell Lord Darkar about how her recent project has been going, but at the moment, he was talking with Valtor about their next targeted planet. Their plans were to drain the power source of multiple planets until they were powerful enough to face their enemies. Darkar still planned to get the Codex, but this time he made sure not to underestimate the fairies and heroes.
Icy and Darcy were both studying the structure of the three schools, now aware that the codex pieces still existed and were once again, hidden in a secretive place within the schools. They were trying to figure out where they were hidden, with no present progress.
Stormy stepped out of her shower and changed, but even though she had thoroughly washed herself, blood stains were still apparent on her hands. Looking out the open door, she saw Valtor walking up to her room, apparently done speaking with Darkar. He was cute, with his long strawberry blond hair and chiseled chin, but he was the creation of the ancestral witches, making him an uncle to the Trix, so, though they often teased each other, he was nothing more than a close family member to them.
"Hey Valtor. So, where are you and Darkar striking next?" Stormy grinned as she flopped down onto her bed.
"Andros. They have thousands of mermaids there and they would make great minions." Valtor leaned against the door, eyeing Stormy's hands, "Who did you kill this time? Not your sisters, I hope."
"Just two random earthlings. A former fairy needed help faking her death, but we decided to use real bodies, so we killed her adoptive parents." Stormy grinned, "You should've seen her. She skinned the guy like a potato, and she stabbed the lady."
Valtor chuckled, "Sounds a little brutal for a former fairy. Did they refuse to send her to summer camp or something?"
"Nah. They were abusive. When we were faking her death, she claimed that they whipped and raped her, so they sort of had it coming." Stormy shrugged, then started getting up, "Anyway, I need to go talk to LD for a moment."
"Alright. I'll go entertain your sisters. They have been suspiciously quiet." Valtor laughed, turning to leave the room.
Stormy stood up and made her way down the dark halls before turning into the enormous throne room, where Darkar sat pondering on his throne.
"What is it, Stormy?" Darkar asked, jumping down from his throne to greet the young witch.
Stormy grinned as she stepped farther foward, "Just here to inform you on Bloom's progress, LD."
Darkar chuckled, "I assume that it's going well?"
"Well, a lot happened. For one, she is actually going witch on her birthday, and for some odd reason, Faragonda tried to indirectly kill her, so I helped her fake her death." Stormy stated.
"That's interesting.. why is there blood on your hands? I thought you said that you wouldn't kill anyone in Magix." Darkar asked.
Stormy smirked mischievously, "When did I say that? Plus, it wasn't in Magix. When we faked Bloom's death, we may have killed her earth parents in the process. She was tortured by them in her childhood, and did I mention their basement? That's reason enough to kill them."
Darkar raised his eyebrow and teased, "What is so bad about their basement that you start to behave like Stella judging one's clothing?"
"It stank like death in there! There were black bags with dead children inside of them all over! They do not know how to properly dispose of their garbage." Stormy mused.
"Now, now, Stormy. Not everyone is as good as hiding bodies as you. Now, tell me, do you think Bloom enjoyed killing them or do you think she regrets it?" Darkar questioned.
Stormy grinned, "She was cackling like mad by the time she finished it, so I assumed she enjoyed it. She may have been a little conflicted afterwards, but I don't think she regrets it."
Darkar smiled darkly, "A moral conflict is to be expected, but if this is true... she may just be our next ally."
Stormy started snickering softly at the though of the red-headed girl fighting the Winx on their side. The idea pleased her greatly, and she was eager to see the fairies' and heros' faces when they see her willingly fighting on the other side.
"Go get some rest, Stormy. Tomorrow, if all goes as planned, you and your sisters are retrieving Red Fountain's codex." Darkar directed.
With that, Stormy turned and left the throne room. Darkar left the room as well, preparing to get some much needed rest. That little red-head is really coming along. I wonder if she would want to stand by my side.. Lady Bloom... what am I thinking?
Just a few tens of miles away, a soon-to-be witch was having a dream.. Their lips met as they kissed, in the middle of complete and utter chaos. Blood showered over them as her ex-boyfriend, Sky, was pierced through the stomach with a sword. Screams of pain and terror filled the air and fire surround them as the dragon flame and shadow fire united, completely unstoppable.
What used to be her greatest nightmare became a perfect dream, so the redhead slept, unaware that these wildest dreams could possibly become reality very soon.
That wasn't too mushy, or was it? Either way, I hope you liked the story and will come back for the next chapter. Sorry if this chapter was too short! I'm going to bed now. It's way too late.
