Chapter 34.

After the four of them ate dinner and the kids helped clean up, Amanda packed them all into her car and drove over to Olivia's apartment. When they got there, Amanda was anxious. She hadn't been to Olivia's apartment in many weeks, and she hadn't even had a normal conversation in so very long. Now she was here with her friend's very angry and confused little boy in tow.

Amanda used the spare keys she had to unlock the building, then she took the kids upstairs in the elevator. Noah trudged down the hall towards his apartment and hesitantly took the key from Amanda to unlock the apartment. Olivia stood up quickly from the sofa and walked to where Noah stood.

"Noah, never do that again. You scared me and Sonny so much!" Tears streamed down her cheeks as she held her little boy. He accepted her hug, even though he wanted to fight it. Talking to Amanda helped, but it didn't make things any better.

He still didn't want both babies, just one.

"Okay." He grumbled against her belly.

"Noah-"

"We are going to my room." Noah huffed. He grabbed Jesse's hand and pulled her towards his room as Billie raced after them.

Olivia looked at Amanda and swallowed hard.

"Thanks for feeding him dinner, talking to him, and bringing him home… I told Sonny to stay at the precinct so I could talk one-on-one with Noah and you." Olivia exhaled.

"Are you sure that you really want to talk to me? I get Noah, but me?"

"Yes, I'm sure. I'm going to make some tea… would you like some?"

"Sure, I'd love some."

While Olivia made tea, Amanda stood in the doorway of Noah's bedroom and watched as he and the girls played with his cars and stuffed animals. The moment the teapot started to whistle, Amanda shut the door and took the two mugs from her before sitting them on the coffee table.

They sat for a few moments, before Amanda reached out and gently touched Olivia's belly.

"So, Noah told me that you are having twins." Amanda smiled.

"I was shocked to say the least, and Sonny passed out."

"Is he okay?" Amanda said, trying to not laugh.

"He's fine, so go ahead and laugh," Olivia smiled. Amanda laughed for a few moments before looking at Olivia.

"Noah said he missed me. I'd love to have him over sometime. They could play and then maybe have a sleepover." Amanda took a breath. Olivia smiled softly and nodded, knowing that Noah had missed the sleepovers with the Rollins girls.

Olivia nodded slowly as she grabbed the blanket from earlier. She draped it over her legs and shifted for a few moments.

Amanda and the girls stayed for longer than expected, but it was nice for everyone to get caught up again. After months of fighting and pain, being in the same space and actually talking helped to melt the tension between Amanda and Olivia.

"Noah, can I come in?" Olivia asked, after knocking lightly on her son's door. Noah was laying in bed, his arms wrapped tightly around his pillow.

"I'm trying to sleep, Mom." Noah sighed. He didn't want to be angry anymore with his mother, but he wasn't completely sure that what Amanda said was true. He had been the only child for years. With Connor it was different. He only saw him on weekends or on holidays but with the twins, it was a completely different story but now he was going to have two siblings that would need all of his mother's attention.

"Noah, we need to talk. About how you ran away and this entire situation…" Olivia trailed off. Noah frowned as he turned his head to face the open door.

He watched closely as his mother slowly walked into the room, her hand cradling her belly. He swallowed hard when she winced as she lowered herself onto the edge of his bed.

"You don't feel good, right?" Noah asked. Olivia reached out and gently ran her fingers through his messy curls.

"I'm okay, sweetie. Today has just been a very tiring day, and I had to get a test done. My belly is bruised from it," Olivia explained, deciding to not go into more details. The last thing she wanted to do was scare her already angry and scared son.

Noah pushed himself up slowly as he drew his legs to his chest.

"Are you sure that you didn't know about the two babies?"

"Sweet boy, during my previous scans, I only saw one baby. Then this time, the other baby surprised us."

"I wish that it hadn't surprised us." Noah grumbled.

"Honey-"

"I'm not ready to lose you, Mommy…" Noah whispered. He went from completely angry to sad in a flash. Olivia swallowed hard and drew her son close. She placed light kisses to the top of his head, before rubbing his small back.

"You aren't going to lose me, Noah. I'm your mommy, and will always be yours. I know that this change is going to be scary and confusing, but we can work through this all together. You, Sonny and me. Okay?"

"What if you get sick?" Noah breathed.

"I'll be okay. I don't want you to worry about me."

Noah nodded weakly, before grabbing his stuffed elephant and holding it to his chest.
