AN: Hello again, everyone. I realize that it's been quite a long time since I last updated this story, and or that you all have my apologies. Right after I started working on this, I transferred colleges, and this ended up always getting shoved to the backburner for some reason or another, but ideally, I'll make a lot more progress this summer. Thank you all for your kind reviews and encourageemnt. I hope you find this chapter as enjoyable as the previous two were.
One Week Later..
Tok'ra Base
Vorash
Something was up.
That much was obvious to Tanith. The Tok'ra base had always been a hub of activity, and while he had not personally seen a base relocation before, he imagined that relocations increased the already frantic pace. If it had just been that, he would have been able to tune out most of the Tok'ra activity as he focused on his actual mission for Apophis, but the Tok'ra he had "befriended" had mentioned that this was unlike any relocation they had seen before.
The Tok'ra's complement of scientists and researchers had already left Vorash. That by itself wasn't unexpected, as during the few times the Tok'ra were able to relocate without being under fire, the scientists and their research had always been among the first to go. What was different is that none of the tunneling crystals had left the base with them. At least, that was what Aldrin had said during one of their meals. Furthermore, when Lantash had returned from the Tau'ri, they hadn't been alone. A team of Tau'ri had come with them, ostensibly to learn some of the Tok'ra preferred espionage and sabotage tactics, and their presence had left much of the base unsure of what to do. Despite the supposed alliance between them, many of the Tok'ra still mistrusted the Tau'ri and saw them as both reckless and hopelessly inferior. In his private moments, Tanith had actually laughed at how the Tok'ra, for all of their claims of hatred for all things Goa'uld, could sometimes echo those very same opinions.
No matter, he thought as he walked through the corridor, nodding at various Tok'ra as he went. Liandra said that there was to be a general meeting in a few hours. Hopefully, they will reveal the location of the new base. Catching them in the process of relocating would allow my Lord to defeat these traitors once and for al-
"Tanith!"
Tanith's thoughts of his lord's inevitable victory were interrupted when he heard someone calling his name. Stopping, he turned around to see Lantash running up to him.
"Is something the matter, Martouf?" he asked. While he personally found talking to the hosts of the Tok'ra repulsive, he would have been a poor spy indeed to not acknowledge when it was them speaking.
"No, nothing's the matter Tanith," said Martouf. "The Council wants to brief some people on the base before the general assembly, and they asked me to get you."
"I see," said Tanith. "Lead on then, Martouf."
As the two of them walked through the base's tunnels, inwardly, Tanith was celebrating. That the Council was informing him before the majority of the Tok'ra proved that he had been successful in gaining their trust. It meant that his mission was one step closer to being completed.
His celebration was cut short, however, when he suddenly felt something hit the back of his shirt and pierce his skin. Before he could comprehend much beyond that, he suddenly felt a massive shock all over his host's body. A few seconds later, Tanith, now thoroughly shocked, collapsed to the floor next to Martouf, two wires sticking out from his back. Quickly, a pair of Tok'ra guards came out of the corridor next to them, removing the wires carefully and then restraining Tanith, dragging the still stunned Goa'uld off to the nearby removal chamber.
"You weren't kidding about this weapon's effectiveness, Major Castlemen," said Martouf.
Major Castlemen, the commander of SG-5, who had quietly slipped in behind Martouf and Tanith while they were walking, grinned at the weapon in question.
"Teal'c allowed himself to get shocked with it back at the SGC,"he said."Since a single Zat shot doesn't always stun a Goa'uld, someone thought that one of these newfangled tasers might be better suited, especially since we want to save the host. Hebron, was it?"
At Martouf's nod, he continued. "He'll be sore for a couple days or so afterwards, but he'll heal, especially since you said that you've got a symbiote who wants to join with him if he says yes."
"It's funny. Many in the Tok'ra believe your people to be too primitive to aid us against the Goa'uld, and yet, a piece of that primitive technology just helped us save one of our own."
"Well, exceeding expectations is our specialty," said Castlemen. "Let's head to the Council chamber. I'm sure a bunch of people are going to have some questions. And considering how SG-1's supposed to be dropping in at some point today, we should probably answer those questions before someone looks up and panics."
"A sound plan."
Aboard the captured Ha'tak, a few hours later….
"Major Carter, mind enlightening me on something?" said Colonel O'Neil.
"Sure, Colonel. What is it?" asked Major Carter.
"Ostensibly speaking, what are we going to use this ship for?"
"Ideally, once the Tok'ra teach us how to operate its systems safely, we can use it as a defense against the Goa'uld, as well as giving us a boost to the development of our own ships. Why?"
"And, as part of that, we'd probably use this to explore other planets, right?"
"Yes, having a ship would certainly make exploring some planets much easier than what we can get with MALPs and SG teams-oh,I see where you're going with this, sir."
"Oh?"
"General Hammond vetoed your suggestion for the ship's name, didn't he?" At O'Neil's nod, she continued. "Sir, we can't just call it the Enterprise."
"Why not? The name fits."
"For starters, the Navy's already using the name." she said. "The name of the ship, whatever it ends up being, isn't that important in the grand scheme of things. I didn't think you would be this focused on it."
"I just want to call it something other than, "The Ha'tak we and our android duplicates stole from evil overlord Cronus. It doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, you know?"
"Colonel, I'm sure that someone will come up with a good name for this ship sooner or later. Until then, we can just call it the-"
"Colonel O'Neil, Major Carter." Teal'c's voice crackled over their radios, interrupting them. "Jacob Carter has announced that we have arrived at the Vorash system. He is requesting both of your presences on the pel'tac before we enter orbit."
"Copy that Teal'c, we're on our way." said O'Neil. "Well, time to collect the passengers."
A few minutes later, the two arrived at the pel'tac, just as Jacob stepped away from the helm controls.
"I put us into orbit over the Tok'ra base's ring transporter. Garshaw's been talking to the Tok'ra planetside. They've been informed of the move, and most of the base is already packed up to go."
"And our resident "secret" agent?" asked O'Neil.
"Tanith was successfully subdued by your Major Castlemen's weapon, and he has already been extracted from Hebron." said Garshaw, stepping away from the communications station. "He's being kept in a containment vessel right now, and when we set the tunnels to consume themselves, he will be consumed along with them."
"A fitting end." said Teal'c, satisfaction evident in his voice.
"All right then. Major, take the engineering team and get the Stargate ready for transport. Teal'c, Daniel, you're with me. Let's help Marty with the evacuation."
A few hours later, the Tok'ra base on Vorash had been fully evacuated and the tunnels had consumed themselves, erasing all traces of the Tok'ra presence, along with a screeching Tanith. Then the ha'tak had descended and removed the planet's Stargate and DHD, leaving Vorash a completely desolate planet, devoid of any artificial construction.
"The Stargate is secured in the hangar, Colonel, and all of the Tok'ra report that they're ready for departure," said Major Carter.
"Great, then Jacob, let's get this show on the road." said O'Neil.
At Jacob's nod, the ha'tak rose out of Vorash's atmosphere and into the vacuum, before jumping into hyperspace.
"So, what do we do for the next two weeks in hyperspace?" asked Daniel.
"I heard that some of the engineering crew had set something up in the mess hall. They said it was for "movie night?" said Garshaw, clearly confused.
"Movies are something we watch on Earth for entertainment," clarified Carter. "Did anyone say what movie they'd be playing tonight?"
"Star Wars." said Teal'c triumphantly. "Before we departed Earth, I had Sergeant Siler provide us with a copy of all three movies on top of the others that had been provided. I believe that by watching them, the Tok'ra will gain a better understanding of the ways of the Tau'ri."
"Oh, this is gonna be fun. " said O'Neil.
