Chapter 3

General POV

For the next few days, a routine was being set up, the general ideas would be explained and the goals and overall objectives were being set, especially in what not only the two would achieve, but what Darth Vectivus wanted them to achieve. This was also when they were told that as they reached certain understandings, abilities, power levels, and skill levels, that the knowledge of or at least part of the knowledge of certain sith lords of the past would be passed to them. Hermione summed up the idea, surprisingly real quick one afternoon, "It makes sense Harry, honestly it does. Having knowledge of something does not mean that you understand how to do something, why to do something or, especially, when to do or use a particular skill. Sure you may know the mechanics and therefore the how, but your body has never actually completed the task. I can sit here and explain to you how to , oh I don't know, the animagus transformation is a good example. I can sit here and explain how to do it, to the point you fully understand every aspect, but until you take the steps, and finally perform it yourself it is still only theoretical." Staring at her, as he always did when she went into a mini lecture without a need to breathe, Harry nodded.

"Sooo what you're saying is that, if we had the knowledge we would pass the theory but fail the practical? I mean that makes sense I guess, but wouldn't having the theory, at least, help us at least?" Turning to look at Vectivus, " I mean, not that it's not interesting to listen to you talk, teach, whatever, which brings up other points I need to ask you about, and especially you Hermione, as I am sure you have noticed a few things too since we arrived here. The point is though, would it not be better to have the theory out of the way, or is there a reason for all of this that I am missing, was already explained and I didn't hear or understand, or is it some sort of common knowledge or accepted wisdom here but not back where we are from?" Looking at both, Harry saw the ever present smile on Darth Vectivus, but on Hermiones' face, she looked like a fish out of water. Her mouth was moving up and down slowly, her eyes wide, looking as if she could not believe what she was seeing or hearing. "What?" Harry looked at her pointedly.

Appearing to shake herself from her stupor, Hermione had looked at Harry again before answering him. " Harry, I know you're not stupid, and I know you have hidden your intelligence over the years, and I am not saying that what you just asked is a world changer or genius theory or anything like that. What I am saying Harry, is that in all the time that I have known you" Harry saw her cheeks pink just slightly, a look he truly liked on her. "Is that normally you don't normally think things like that through to such a depth, or at least you don't ask. You tend to just accept it and move on. It's something I have noticed in increasing amounts since we got here, and again, I am not saying it's bad in any way, I just, well, I, that is…. Please keep doing it, I like the side of you that's smart….." she finished off in an almost whisper, and then squeeked much to the amusement of the only living male in the room. Harry though had been intently listening to her and heard exactly what she had said, causing his cheeks to start to redden as well.

"Harry" The baritone voice of the everpresent, though not always seen, Force Ghost filled the room again. Not with power, no need for that, no. Simply filling the room by projecting his voice to grab attention. "Firstly, yes there is a reason. The dark side is ever present and ever tempting. You see, it is my belief, and with how I didn't become a murdering psychopath bent on global domination, I believe I am right. Furthermore, there are a few sith from the past who will also be teaching you and they, like myself where never fully, shall we say corrupted. You have to remember, the force, like your magic, is power and energy shaped by will, sharpened by your ability and training to perform said action. Much like a muscle, the more you use it, the stronger you become, and the easier certain actions are." "Sir, I don't understand." Trying to focus on anything but her previous comment before it appeared, and a change of topic was definitely necessary. "We both understand that, in essence, the force and magic are, I believe you said they were siblings. And that our particular brand of humans have a chance at having an internal force core, what we call a magical core, and the ability to manipulate the 'Force', which you have explained as external energy. But what does being Sith, or to continue on that train of thought, being a jedi, have to do with knowledge?"

Harry's POV

Harry was pondering everything that he had just heard. Sure it was similar to and most of it the same information that they had heard over the past few days, but the new questions were starting to align differently in his head. There is a reason to not just, in essence, download the information. The information was going to be gained one way or another, but it was the process, or was it more the sheer amount that was going to be gained. That could be a valid concern he admitted. This also brought up Harry's other things he noticed. In particular, especially in what Hermione had said to him, he appeared to be able to learn, remember, and absorb information at a much higher rate than he had ever previously. It almost felt like a fog had been lifted from his head. It had to have something to do with when they went through the portal. Sure he felt his magic better, and the few charms that he and Hermione had used seemed to be overpowered by more than a bit. The cleaning charms they had used on the rooms they were inhabiting seemed to make everything shine as new. Sure they were hoping to get rid of the dust there, but they didn't expect to clean the room so fast, and so thoroughly.

But he could put that up to this energy called the Force. It was possible it had amplified the charm and other magics they had done. Sure, they hadn't really tested anything out yet, having found out in one of the initial conversations that they where in a literal asteroid that had been hollowed out and made into a base, well, he didn't know that they would cause problems, but there was no need to find out what happened if the air that was here got sucked out of or seal was broken or something else. The point was he had a potential cause of why their magic appeared stronger.

The changes in their bodies also was something that had them both, understandably, worried. Sure he wasn't a hulking mess of muscles, but he was now definitely taller, well toned, and when he looked in the mirror, he couldn't find any scars from his childhood at all. That one had made him especially happy, as the scar on his head had even healed. Furthermore, his eyes seemed to have healed somehow as he didn't need glasses anymore. The way he figured it, again it had something to do with that portal. Did it have a healing feature, or maybe it adjusted peoples bodies to their ideal shape, size, and type. That was a quandary. If that was true then he supposed he had an idea about his new mental capabilities, but something felt off about that. Something seemed to not fit the jigsaw puzzle that he was putting together. Sure the piece technically could fit, but it was meshing right.

Looking at Hermione, he also realized that beyond the basic physical changes he had noticed, from her filling out more, becoming more shapely, she also appeared more toned in muscle mass as well. There was nothing overly obvious, but the small amounts of softness, as he had decided to call it, cause even he knew never to call a woman fat, seemed to be gone. Sure Hogwarts had kept them active with all the stairs they had to walk, but Hermione had spent hours every day sitting in a library, and that had tended to let her be in enough shape to make the distance to anywhere in the school needed, but not really a good physique. Again, like him, her magic seemed to respond better, more powerful, and more willing.

The big thing he noticed though was that, although she obviously seemed to still love learning and acquiring knowledge, this wasn't the driving force it seemed to be before hand. It was almost as if something had been adjusting…. Her….. pers…

"CRAP!" It all made sense. "We were potioned." Hermione was staring at him, she had just finished asking her question of Vectivus when he shouted. Her eyes narrowed, her breathing appeared to slow, just staring at him as comprehension seeped visibility into her eyes and posture. And without warning, they where both on there feet pacing, expletives exploding from their mouths, growls from their throats, the air became heavy and thick. Reality seemed to shift slightly as the walls warped out and back in, like a piece of paper in breeze going back and forth in the middle. "Harry, who… who would have done that. Why would they do it? What possible reasoning could they have… Doesn't matter. Forget it Harry. We need to focus. We are bing offered training, we have agreed to said training. What we need to focus on is that training. Once we are done, no one, no one, will ever control us again."

Taking a deep breath to calm himself, he plopped down into his chair, grabbed Hermione, his Hermione, yes that felt right to him, his Hermione, and pulled her to his lap. She seemed to understand what he wanted, and what he needed, curling up in his lap. The two looked at Darth Vectivus, and waited for him to answer the original question.

Darth Vectivus POV

Looking at the two after , what he assumed was a major revelation, he was amazed at the sheer amount of power that seemed to radiate off of them. Oh yes, these two were definitely the key. The word potions had piqued his interest, and from the conversations he had had with them and had picked up over the time with them, he had come to the conclusion that these two had been controlled. Their minds weakened, their powers held at bay, their bodies kept from developing how they should have. Made to feel inferior, weak, and under someone else's control. Well no more. He may not be evil, but he was a Sith, and these two would bring the Sith empire back to true glory. He had been told so by his predecessors in a force vision before he passed. They would be the true legacy of the sith. Never before nor ever again would there be ones as powerful as them.

"Firstly, thank your for reigning in your tempers." With a small smile gracing his lips, " I dont think you would want to destroy this base without a way to survive." Chuckling at their looks, 'Oh this is going to be amazing and fun'. "Now onto your questions, you asked why we dont just give you the information, correct?" Two heads nodded, as he noticed that when he imparted information these two paid attention to everything, absorbing it like a sponge. "It is due mainly to the source of the information. If you where simply given the information directly into your minds, along with it would come the preconceptions along with it. Part of your training will be you deciding how to use the knowledge we give you. You will decide whether to explore certain aspects, and yes, I and all of your trainers fully expect you to use some, while at the same time, turning from other facets of knowledge and skills. We will present this knowledge as neutrally as possible, giving you the choice. We will give you the freedom of choice." Noticing their nods of acceptance, and that they appeared to understand he decided to continue. Yes, full disclosure was needed with these two. He truly pitied any who became their enemies when they fully came into their power.

"The second part has more to do with the nature of the force. If we simply dump the information into you, it will cause a spiral, as with almost all modern sith, and many in the past who simply sought power as quickly as possible, into chaos, and furthermore, corruption of the soul. But if you learn, taking lessons into you at a steady pace, understanding what is before you, and then moving on while recognising how the lesson affects you without letting it control you, but you instead control it, the corruption will never come. Just as the Dark corrupts though, so does the light, and the current Jedi are prime examples of this. So bathed in light, that anything that goes against them, they have no patience or acceptance for. Oh they say otherwise but you only need to look at history to see otherwise. The light can corrupt just as assuredly as the dark. Remember, you can not have one without the other, there is always an inverse and always an opposite."

"Now, one last piece of knowledge for today, and then you two will need to talk, spend some time together, your actual training will start soon. I am only one of your trainers. Each trainer will set standards of what they wish you to achieve, and each will have a pinnacle skill that they wish you to achieve. Something that made them unique. And like me, many bordered the dark and either leaned more towards the gray, or, in others cases, maintained themselves even when bathed purely in the dark. They will span the millenia that is the sith. You also need not worry about time here. The force is a very powerful tool, and will help to speed your learning and training. It will take the right amount of time, and when you leave here, you will be given new names, as all sith are. I realize from our talks, that you have tools where you come from that can actually help to manipulate time, but we have no such thing here. I only mean that it will take as long as it needs to. Now go." As he faded away, he communed with the sith of the past and reported what he had heard, taught, learned, and more. Many of these sith nodded along. One, a particular woman with only one hand in what would have been a brown robe, simply smiled. It had been too long since she had trained anyone. Yes, she would enjoy teaching again, and if everything worked correctly, well then, things would get interesting.

Harry's POV

Harry's Bedroom

Harry sat on his bed in his bedroom, Hermione sitting in the chair by his desk. He just looked at her. They had had several talks, almost nightly, focusing on just them, their feelings, and what it meant. He had recognized that he truly was in love with her, and he also recognized now that he didn't want her to leave him alone ever again. His freedom was being with her. It wasn't so much as him having to have her there, but more along the lines of him truly feeling, well feeling anything besides despair when she was with him. "Hermione, I know that we are dating, and I feel kinda crappy that I can't actually take you anywhere. I promised you a date, and well, sorta feels like I short changed you a bit." She was biting her bottom lip, which he knew meant she was deep in thought about something. He would give her the time she needed to arrange her thoughts and put them in order to say whatever it was she was saying. Leaning forward he gave her a quick kiss on the cheek, something he had started doing to show affection. To some it may not seem that big, but to him, it was a large step forward from … well, before.

Before was anything before they came here, and frankly he didn't want to think of it again. Sure he worried for his friends, but he had accepted there was nothing he could do for them. He worried for the populace and worried about Voldemort, but again, his new perspective had helped him to understand that there really was nothing he could do right now, and in all honesty, he was nowhere ready to fight a dark lord of that power. He worried for Sirius, but again, what could he do. The ministry was corrupt, they didn't care as long as they looked good. And besides, where even was earth compared to where they were right now. No, he refused to worry about them because he truly could not help them and refused to be brought down again. He was going to train, gain power, and protect those he cared for. If he ever went back to earth, not that he was truly sure about that either, he would go when no one could ever challenge him and walk away unscathed.

Holding her hand to her cheek, Hermione smiled shyly at Harry, "Harry, I am yours, you are mine. Would a date be nice, sure, but all a date really is, is getting to know if you're compatible with each other. Frankly, in that respect we have been dating since the first year after the troll." Getting up slowly, with a look of uncertainty on her face, she walked over to him where he was sitting on the bed. He noticed she was biting her lip again, and then a look of pure determination crossed her face. "Harry, one of the things that we are being taught is to be true to ourselves, to be honest with ourselves and to be us. Right?" "You're right Hermione." Smiling internally and while also very nervous at how close she seemed to be. He had an idea what she was going to do, her body language was screaming her intent, and he was both overjoyed, while at the same time scared crapless of the prospect. "Then Harry, I'm going to be honest here, I love you, you know this. But I'm also a teenage girl, who is finally free from the constraints placed on her of what she had to be. Now…..now I can be me and be with who I want. And I want … you" Her voice had dropped to a whisper towards the end, not that it had mattered as she was so close. She closed the gap and kissed him as she had wanted to for a while now.

Harry knew that she had been holding back herself for him, scared of being too forward. They had talked about their respective pasts, family, relatives, growing up, and more. Well, he might not have the best memories of physical contact with people, but this was Hermione, and would never flinch or shy away from her. He raised his hands up and wrapped them around her waist pulling her onto his lap. As she straddled him, she wrapped her arms around his neck. Together they both thought the same thing, 'This is right, and I don't care what others think'. They knew they wouldn't go further than kissing and cuddling this night, and not for many more nights, but it was a step forward, it was a step to being who they where, and it was a step towards being truly free.

General POV

CORUSCANT

CHANCELLOR'S OFFICE

Darth Sidious was sitting in his office, in his guise as the chancellor, Sheev Palpatine, completely perplexed and confused. Oh, the politicians where doing exactly what he wanted. The corporations, the banking clans, the trade federation, and many others where almost in the place where he needed them to be to break away to form the Confederacy. With his apprentice, Darth Tyrannus at the helm, the sith would run both sides of the war, and when the time was right, the empire would be born. Tyrannus, or rather Count Dooku, was the perfect choice of leadership. He was charismatic, charming, considered a man of his word, considered honest, and frankly, if he wasn't so old, Sidious might fear that he would replace him. But no, that was no concern at this time.

No, what had Sidious confused was the dark side of the force. The shroud that the sith had started to create some 300 years ago, put into effect slowly starting 200 years ago till now, was stronger than ever. He had complete control of it and there was no wrinkle, no tear, no point that the light could filter through. It increased his reach, and therefore his knowledge of what was happening, at least in general. No, the dark side had a whisper in it. Nothing he could discern and truly, it didn't so much as bother him, as it was annoying not knowing what was happening. He barely noticed it at all.

What bothered him even more was that it appeared as if the Dark side of the force was, as inconceivable as it was, happy. The dark didn't do happy, it didn't do love, or joy, no it reveled in the misery of others, in hate, and in anger. It was annoying trying to figure it all out, and in all honesty, he should probably ignore it, as it shouldn't affect his plans. He would keep an eye on it and decide later if he should do something, but for now, no he had work to do.

JEDI TEMPLE

Yoda had been in deep meditation throughout the day, as was the norm for him lately. But today, he felt a tremor in the force. He could only truly understand that change was coming. Whether good or bad, whether light or dark, change was coming. It would be soon, but not quite yet. The force was waiting, patient at this point, almost as if deciding something. The fact that Yoda felt this not just from the brief glimpses, feelings, and nudges from the light side of the force, but from the dark side as well, now that was the confusing part to him. He would wait, meditate, and if he learned more, then he would talk to the council.

Skywalker and Obi wan where off at some mission, the particulars he could not remember at this time. The younglings were training, and padawans and knights went about there business as always. Yoda worried for the future of the Order, and more importantly, the future of the young. They had truly yet to live, and sometimes wondered if the Ruusan Reformation did more harm than good for the Jedi. It was neither here nor there, as he couldn't change anything as it was anyway.

Maybe he would go to the fountains, they always calmed him and to see the next generation at peace always helped his soul. Yes, that is what he would do for now.

THE FORCE

Qui-Gon Jinn looked at his old padawan and smiled. He knew Obi-Wan would do great things. He did think he could help Anakin more, but to each their own. Really, he knew Anakin should have been trained by Yoda or one of the other council members, but that was the past. No, what truly interested him right now was what the Dark Side Sith were doing. He had felt when those two had appeared here, he had felt the darkness embrace them, but had felt no hate or anger from it. It embraced, and protected them. Perhaps, if they didn't fall to the corruption so many did, he would help train them as well. He still believed Anakin to be the key to the balance of the Force, but that didn't mean he was the only way. And you never know what truly would happen till it did. He only hoped that the future would be better than the present currently was.

A/N

1 : Thank you all for all of the reviews, follows, and favorites. I hope you liked what you have read so far and continue to read in the future.

2 : FreeTraderBeowolf : Thank you for the review, I hope you liked this chapter

3: Andrew Lee Houghton : Hope you like what you have seen so far, and thank you for the review

4 : 1stSlug : Thank you for pointing the mistakes I made, I try to catch them but don't always. After going back and rereading it from a 3rd person point of view, I realized what you where talking about. I hope that this chapter reads better as I tried to mark where the changes happen and keep true to how that character is developing. I am trying to bring in more conversation, and working on that. Hope you liked this chapter. Finally as you may have surmised I have a few more legends characters coming in, and although I want to have them mostly true to themselves, I may tweak here or there to bring them a unique taste to this story. Hope you enjoyed.

5 : George Christian810 : Ok, I can't say too much as I would give away too much, there are going to be some big changes eventually coming to the galaxy but we got to get there first. I don't want to rush, but at same time, I dont want to go too slow. The next chapter should help with what I am doing. Cant say anything again too much as the jedi or anakin, but do you really think anakin would ever, before his fall, have anything to do with Sith, whether they are good or evil, they are dark. As for Padme, I haven't exactly decided on what to do with her, as she is a great character, and you are right, there isnt many harry/padme stories. Might I suggest, if you haven't read it yet, Whats a Gungan by By mjimeyg its not terribly long, but is a good read, though the ending is some what lacking, atleast IMO.

6: As far as timeline, you have a base one that of where it is, but it will become more clear next chapter. It is after episode one but before episode 2, for technicallity. atlest at this point in time. Till next time, read and review if you like, and thank you for all.
