We just finished our first case and solved the mystery to the fraud and art switch. My wickles was creating replica's during the night and had to dispose of the professor since he was the one who would tell the difference. This would have exposed their smuggling operation and left them without the profits, so they disguised themselves as the black knight to use the local legend as a scape goat for their criminal activity. The police were pleased with our work we were personally congratulated by the chief of police, acknowledging the gangs dream to become a respectable mystery solving team.
We were soon heading out, after scooby made one of his jokes that made everyone laugh. He dressed as the black knight to scare shaggy, which worked like a charm. Scooby has always been such a loving bundle of joy, since we found him in the middle of nowhere and was a hungry dog. Fred thought the best idea would be to bring the dog to a shelter, but the bond between him and shaggy was almost instant with the help of a cookie or biscuit like snack called a scooby snack. He was such a ham and with that signature chuckle he did, he knew it too.
We were off on another adventure and I kept a detailed journey to the previous mystery we were involved in. I decided that I'd be best to keep the notes on each mystery we managed to solve and, maybe one day, I could author detective stories and start my own business selling them in a book shop. I could image it now, selling the books that would be the biggest best sellers and people lining up to buy them, not to mention to experience every scary moment that me and the gang would live through.
"Velma, where do you think we should go next?" Fred asked, breaking me from my thoughts. I looked around and Daphne was applying her make up, she always was the one to look her best. Fred was usually the one to make the decisions and act as the gangs leader figure, but with the black Knight he seemed less sure of himself since going to the museum was his idea. Shaggy was in the back with the great dane, Scooby Doo doing, what else, eating.
"Why don't we get a bite to eat?" Shaggy said in his usual ways, mainly thinking about food and this was one of those rare times where finding something to eat sounded like a good idea. We had been on the road for a while and we needed to have a pit stop. Fred suggested "then how about we go to the nearest café? I hear they do great pancakes" Shaggy interrupted and asked "with all the different flavoured syrups?" Scooby licked his lips and, though he could barely speak, we understood him when he said "reah, reah, all srup" he was in agreement that there had to be syrup on the pancakes.
"Then it's settled, we'll get something quick to eat and we'll see where the mystery machine takes up" she exclaimed with a smile. Shaggy said in his usually joking way "I don't think dogs are allowed syrup" Scooby pouted as the rest of us laughed. The way Shaggy always made his jokes like that to tease Scooby always made us all smile, I even think Scooby enjoyed it too. When he thinks we're looking away, I can always see a slight smile on his face whenever we make those kinds of comments. We soon arrived to the local café that was in the centre of town, it was small but it had that home some feel to it all. The look and feel to it was that of a cottage, the locals to the town seemed to enjoy the aesthetics. We got to a table as Shaggy and Scooby did what myself, Daphne and Fred expected, get the largest meal they could find.
They both came over to the table, with undoubtably, the largest sandwich we had ever seen and certainly the towns people too. "Jeepers guys, do you really need all of that food?" Daphne asked with concern. "well, we need to keep our strength up" Shaggy answered and as he answered, Scooby took the filling to the sandwich. Watching him eat that much in seconds was astonishing, it was as large as Shaggys upper torso and as thick as his shoulders. Shaggy looked confused then to Scooby saying "you know I need to eat too Scoob" at that moment, Scooby let out a loud burb. We couldn't help but to laugh even more as he gave his chuckle.
"I wouldn't be laughing if I were you kids" a strange and deep sounding voice was hear over our laughter. It was an old man with a bushy like beard, a scar running down his face and small black eyes. They were brown but they were so small you could barely see the colour and you could see most of his eye was bloodshot. He continued "folks around these parts are on edge with the local forest, when the moon is full for 3 days of the month. A witch comes out of her hut and spirits people away" the sound of his voice made it sound more sinister, there must be a logical explanation for it. Daphne said "jeepers" Fred nodded and said "looks like we have another mystery to solve" Fred Paused and looked around asking "hey? Where did Shaggy and Scooby vanish to?" we scanned the room until we saw a table that was shacking like a leaf in the wind. Me and Daphne walked over and lifted the tablecloth, they were hiding underneath hugging each other in their typical ways. "oh you, what a ham" I said jokingly. Scooby was the first to crawl out, pretending to be brave and then started to pane being injured with broken legs. Fred told Scoob "that's not going to work" Shaggy added "yeah, sorry bud looks like we're out voted this time" Fred looked to the old man and exclaimed "we'll get to the bottom of this mystery"
