Chapter 4: Falling Into Autumn
"Excellent catch, Tosha! You can be on my team any day!" BJ smiled.
"Thanks BJ, but I don't think I wanna play anymore. It's really hot out." Tosha said.
"It's too bad there's not a swimming pool in the summer jar." Schroeder lamented.
"Hey wait a second! When I put my ear to the summer jar, I could hear the sound of ocean waves." Peppermint Patty remembered.
"Well maybe, there's still something inside the summer jar." Barney teased joyfully as Lucy picked it up.
"Here you go, Barney." Lucy smiled.
"Why don't you open it, Lucy?" Barney suggested.
"Okay. Watch out, blockheads!" Lucy teased and as she opened the jar, some sort of tent popped out.
"A tent?!" Sally asked. "We just got BACK from camping!"
"Sally's right; it's not exactly an ocean." Shawn noted.
"But if you listen, you can hear the ocean." BJ explained.
"What're we waiting for? Come on!" Lila declared.
"I hope there's some sand for me to wiggle my toes in!" Peppermint Patty giggled. "It's really fun!"
"I'll pass on the offer..." Heather said. "Besides, I prefer swimming in the water and pretending I'm Ariel!" she added as they all entered the tent.
As they exited the tent, the kids gasped. "WOW! LOOK!" Lila exclaimed.
"It IS an ocean!" Rebecca commented.
"NEVER underestimate Barney Magic!" Lucy said before noticing the kids were all in swimsuits. "I mean it, DON'T underestimate it!"
"I can't believe it's actually an ocean!" Linus said.
Tosha smirked a little. "I wonder if it's the Atlantic Ocean or the Pacific Ocean..." she said, looking at Peppermint Patty. "What do you think, Sir?"
"Who cares? As long as it's wet!" Peppermint Patty smirked. "Let's enjoy that ocean!"
"Wait! Not without a grown up! Where's Barney?" Lila realized.
"Here I am!" Barney smiled, coming out of the tent wearing sunglasses.
"Neat shades, Big Purple!" Peppermint Patty smirked.
"Now, let's hit the beach!" Barney exclaimed happily.
As they all ran into the water, Lucy suddenly froze in place.
"What's wrong?" Barney asked, stopping in his tracks.
"It's cold!" Lucy explained.
"Come on, Lucy!" BJ motioned.
BJ, Barney's Friends and Peanuts Gang (Except Lucy):
She waded in the water and she got her feet all wet
She waded in the water and she got her feet all wet
She waded in the water and she got her feet all wet
But she didn't get her bellybutton wet, yet
Lucy's getting in the water, Lucy's getting in the water
Lucy's getting in the water,
But she didn't get her bellybutton wet, yet
"Come on, Lucy! Come on in!" Shawn called out.
"Yeah, Lucy! The water's great!" Heather exclaimed.
"I don't know..." Lucy shuddered.
"Don't tell us ya got cold feet!" Peppermint Patty joked.
"Come on, Lucy! You can do it!" Tosha encouraged.
"YEAH!" the kids agreed.
"I'll do it if you do it..." Lucy told Barney.
"Okay then..." Barney held Lucy's hand.
They both ran into the water where Lucy smiled. "I made it!" Lucy cheered.
Lucy:
I waded in the water and I finally got it wet.
I waded in the water and I finally got it wet.
I waded in the water and I finally got it wet.
I finally got my belly button wet. Wet!
Barney, BJ, Barney's Friends, and Peanuts Gang:
Lucy's finally in the water.
Lucy's finally in the water
Lucy's finally in the water.
She finally got her belly button wet…wet!
"Awww man, that was so great!" BJ cheered as they all exited the tent.
"AND they had an ice cream stand!" Peppermint Patty explained.
"Somehow..." Lila added. "But like Lucy says, NEVER underestimate Barney Magic."
Lucy nodded. "Correct!"
"Did you see me in the water?" BJ asked.
"Yeah, and you sort of reminded me of something." Sally said.
"A yellow speedboat?" BJ tried to guess.
"No, more like Webster." Sally replied.
"WEBSTER?!" BJ gawked as the kids and Snoopy laughed. "Aye yi yi..."
Snoopy laughed before he, Tosha and Lucy looked over at Barney shaking.
"What're you doing, Barney?" Tosha asked.
"Are you okay?" Lucy worried.
"Yes, Lucy, this happens every time I visit the beach. I get sand in between my toes." Barney reassured.
"Phew...for a minute, I though something stung you." Lucy said as all eyes landed on her. "What?"
"But how do you get the sand out of your toes?" Shawn asked.
"That's easy! I do it like this!" Barney smiled, jumping up and down, causing the ground to shake.
"Don't let the jars break!" Charlie Brown exclaimed as Rebecca and Heather caught the spring and summer jars.
"That's better. Sorry if I shook things up a bit." Barney chuckled.
"Well you are pretty huge, Barney." Linus teased.
"Maybe these jars will be safe up in the treehouse." Heather smiled as they took them upstairs and placed them back on the table.
"There. I don't think the jars will fall over now." Rebecca smiled.
"Speaking of fall, let's have fall right now!" Tosha smiled.
"That's a great idea, Tosha!" Peppermint Patty praised.
"Thanks Sir." Tosha teased.
"You know, in the fall, the leaves on some of the trees change from green to all sorts of pretty colors!" Barney explained.
"Do you think those leaves will change, Barney?" Rebecca asked.
"Well there's only one way to find out, let's go outside and see." Barney suggested.
As the kids left the treehouse, a thought hit Sally "If we open the jar and school begins, I'm gonna lose my mind!" she declared.
"Don't fret, Sally. Barney magic has all of our best interests in mind." Lucy smiled.
"OK, here goes nothing." Linus smiled as he opened the jar and the treehouse transformed with the colors of fall, with pumpkins and a scarecrow. And the kids clothes were changed again.
"Wow! Look at the leaves!" Schroeder smiled.
"And look at that scarecrow." Heather giggled.
"And those great big pumpkins!" Linus smiled as Sally breathed with relief over school not starting.
"Pumpkin smhcukin. Where's a football?" BJ asked.
"Let's look inside, Jay." Peppermint Patty smirked as they did just that.
"It sure looks like autumn to me." Linus smiled.
"It sure does, Linus." Tosha agreed.
"Autumn? I thought it was going to be fall!" Lila commented.
"Whether you say autumn or fall, they both mean the same thing. They're synonyms." Barney explained.
"WE CAN LEARN ABOUT CINNAMONS IN SCHOOL!" Sally complained.
"Either way, autumn and fall both mean a crispy, crunchy, cozy time of year." Barney chuckled.
Rebecca and Lila:
I like to roll in the leaves, feel the cool breeze
Stuff a scarecrow top to bottom
Tosha and Linus:
And you can call it "Fall", if that's what you please
But I say "I like autumn"
Barney, Barney's Friends and Peanuts Gang:
Oh, scoodle oppa doodle
Oppa deedle oppa deeze,
Our jackets - we're glad we brought 'em.
And you can call it "Fall"
If that's what you please,
But I say, "I like Autumn!"
Shawn and Schroeder:
I like to roll in the leaves,
Feel the cool breeze,
Stuff a scarecrow top to bottom!
Maria and Sally:
And you can call it "Fall"
If that's what you please,
But I say, "I like Autumn!"
Barney, BJ, Barney's Friends, and Peanuts Gang:
Oh, scoodle oppa doodle
Oppa deedle oppa deeze,
Our jackets - we're glad we brought 'em.
And you can call it "Fall"
If that's what you please,
But I say, "I like Autumn!"
Oh, scoodle oppa doodle

Tosha and Linus:
But I say, "I like Autumn!"
Barney, BJ, Barney's Friends, and Peanuts Gang:
Yes, I say, "I like Autumn!"
"Well, I say I like football, but we haven't found one anywhere." Peppermint Patty sulked. "Where could it be?"
"Hey BJ, Peppermint Patty, come out and join the fall fun." Barney suggested.
"No. I don't think so." Peppermint Patty sulked.
"What's the matter, BJ?" Schroeder asked.
"Well, fall is the time of year that I like to play football, but we can't find one." BJ sulked.
"Well, I like playing football too, but there are plenty of fun things we can do in the fall." Lucy suggested.
"Like waiting up for the Great Pumpkin!" Linus' eyes widened.
"This again?" Sally groaned as Lila blinked "You're better off not knowing."
"It's fine. But if we're brainstorming fall activities, I LOVE jumping into a pile of leaves!" Lila declared.
"And it's fun watching the birds flying south, to warmer places, for the winter." Tosha said. She then paused. "The birds go on vacation."
"Aaaaand it's fun to celebrate Octoberfest!" Barney added.
"Huh?! October-what?!" the kids and BJ asked confused.
"Octoberfest! Fall is the time of year that farmers harvest the fruits and vegetables they grown. In places around the world, people celebrate the fall harvest with big parties!" Barney explained.
"Oh!" the kids realized.
"One of the biggest parties happens in a country called Germany, and the party is called..." Barney continued.
"...Octoberfest!" the kids realized.
"Can we have an Octoberfest right now?" BJ asked.
"Ja, meine kleinen Freunde." Barney spoke in German.
"Huh?" the kids asked, confused.
"Sorry, I mean, yes my little friends." Barney smiled.
After preparations, the Octoberfest was ready and the kids, BJ and Snoopy were playing around while Barney practiced the tuba.
BJ, Barney's Friends and Peanuts Gang:
Go round and round the village
Go round and round the village
Go round and round the village
As we have done before
Go in and out the window
Go in and out the window
Go in and out the window
As we have done before
Come follow me, while skipping
Come follow me, while skipping
Come follow me, while skipping
As we have done before
Stand and face your paterner
Stand and face your partner
Stand and face your partner
As we have done before
Now shake his hand and leave him
Now shake his hand and leave him
Now shake his hand and leave him
As we have done before
Go round and round the village
Go round and round the village
Go round and round the village
As we have done before
"Wooooo hooooooooo!" Snoopy howled.
