Moon Dormitory
Laterβ¦]
Zero stood in front of the gate that leads to the Moon Dormitory where the Night Students residence. His amethyst orbs stared at the iron bars silently. His hand clenched onto the strap of his duffle bag. He would never have thought that he will be the one who transferred into Night Class. He briefly recalled from his other life that when Yuuki return to her Pureblood body along with her memoriesβ¦
The silver-haired hunter closed his eyes and shook his memory away. He doesn't want to think about it anymore. Right now, he needs to focus on the present and start taking new steps forward. He silently wondered what his life will be like when he becomes a Night Student. 'Not only that, but the rest of the vampires will discover my true selfβ¦' he mused, knowing that he will have to declare his true unofficial vampire self. Zero didn't care if any of the vampires knew of his blood status.
However, he has a feeling a certain noble vampire cares about his status in the shadow society. Zero inwardly sighed, mentally prepared himself, and step forward to the dorm gate. The iron bars opened with enough gap that he easily walked through without any trouble.
Zero stride across the bridge while thinking that he could no longer go to the Chairman's residence whenever he wants. Although, his faux-father did tell him that his bedroom was his to use whenever he wants to take a break from the Moon Dorm.
Ahead of him, his gaze immediately spots a large building of the Moon Dormitory. The Sun Dormitory is very different from the Moon Dormitory. The Sun Dorm was open in the field, inviting and welcoming. With art bushes and flowers surrounding, and small statues here and there. The building was wide with only four levels.
The Moon Dorm is different, it's a very gothic-looking place. Nearly attempted to cover by hundreds of trees and bushes. Tall and proud with a couple of towers. So private and standoffish. There are five levels, plus a basement and an attic. A perfect place for the night of creatures to live in.
Zero studied the building quietly as he will have to get used to it since this dorm will be his home from now on.

The silver-haired hunter silently sauntered inside the building. The polished cream-white marble floor slightly shines by the dimmed illumination of the chandelier in the room. The windows are mostly covered by heavy black curtains. Zero glances around the empty room warily while tightening his fist around the straps of his duffle bag.
Suddenly, a figure appeared in front of the hunter at a safe distance. "Hello, Kiryuu-kun." A polite smile displayed on Takuma's face as he greeted the silver-haired hunter. "Imagine my surprise when Kaname-sama told me that you acceptβ" Zero ignored him as he walked past by. "βa-ah, wait!"
The noble vampire quickly and easily catches up to Zero's pace. "I am sure you are aware that I am a Vice President of the Moon Dormitory. It is my responsibility to ensure that you are welcome and have a room of your own." Takuma attempts to be helpful to the cold hunter.
Zero frowned in response as he glanced at the noble vampire from the corner of his eyes. Takuma smiles awkwardly. "Please allow me to give you a tour after I show your room?" he asked, politely.
The silver-haired hunter mentally sighed but he nod his head, accepted the noble vampire's offer. Takuma beamed happily and he made a gesture with his hand in front of them. "This way." the cold hunter followed the Vice President to the white-cream grand staircase with a dark maroon-red carpet.
They ascended the stairs soundlessly to the third floor. Zero scrutinizes around with his eyes with neutral interest. He never bothers to take time and look around in the Moon Dorm. This place was infested with vampires that he loathed to the bottom of his cold heart from his other life. But now, seeing this place for the first time with clear eyes from an old and tired soul. It's different.
Compare this to the Sun Dormitory that always very welcoming, bright, lively, and comfortable. Zero could feel this Moon Dormitory is a mystery, calm, slightly intense, and a bit dark. The atmosphere will be put off by humans but to vampires, it's secure and relaxing. Fitting for the night of creatures.
When they arrived on the third floor, Takuma lead Zero down the hall as the cream-white candleholders attached to the walls lighten up in the dark corridor.
"Here we areβ" the noble vampire paused as he wave his hand over at the dark cherry wood door. "βthis will be your dorm room from now on." he extend his hand to the doorknob, twisted it, and pushed it inward.
Takuma step aside, and allow the silver-haired hunter to walk into his new room. Zero studied his room indifferently while strode further until he halted in the middle of the room.
Surprisingly, it's a large dorm room. Bigger than his old Sun dorm room. His amethyst gaze carefully examined around. The floor was made of dark wood that was covered with a big dark royal blue rug with elegant gold embroidery patterns. Jet-black king-sized bed with four posters with see-through black curtains; pearl-white and royal blue bedding with few matching pearl-white and royal blue pillows. Dark woods of nightstands with fancy black candleholders and white candles. Matching dark wood of dresser, wardrobe, and vanity with oval-shaped mirror. There are four large vintage gothic windows with heavy black curtains to prevent the sunlight in the room. Additionally, a white sofa in the middle of the room with a dark wood coffee table. Dark wood bookshelf was pushed against the wall near the dark wood desk and a chair.
And there are a few taped boxes neatly stacked by the closed door that Zero assumed it's a private bathroom.
The silver-haired hunter turned his head to Takuma who is standing by the doorway with a soft smile as his hands entwined behind his back. "I hope this room is up to your satisfaction, Kiryuu-san."
"Bit too fancy for my taste." Zero commented, nonchalantly. He sauntered his way to the coffee table, set his duffle bag on it. "Isn't this dorm room bit too unusual for just an unofficial low-life vampire like me to stay?"
Takuma's forest-green eyes widen in astonished shock. "Of course not! Kaname-sama's ordered us to have this room prepared for you, Kiryuu-san." he assured the silver-haired hunter. 'Also, that it should be close to Kaname-sama's private room as well.' he mused, secretly.
Zero grunted then walked to one of the windows, fingers grasp the edge of the curtain and pull it aside. The warm sunlight shines through the glass to his new dorm room. He blinked couple of times and witness the gorgeous view of the wild colorful garden near the woods. Far ahead, he could see the sea of never-ending green as far as his sight could.
The Vice President cleared his throat softly. "Now that you know the locate of your dorm room. Want to tour?" he asked, civilly.
"Might as well." the cold hunter grumbled as he dropped his hand to his side. After all, he will be staying in Moon Dormitory for a while.

Yuuki lifted her head from her knees with tears that left stains on her cheeks. She sniffles as he lifted one of her small hands, and wipes the tears away from her cheek. "I...I need to talk to him." the brunette decided with resolve.
She has to talk to Zero. Only he has all the answers she needs to know. The petite Prefect pushes herself up with the support of the tree behind her. Yuuki's brown eyes hardened with determination. She won't back down nor give up. Not until the silver-haired hunter gives her acknowledgment.
Yuuki shifted forward as she glanced up at the clear blue sky. She lifted her hand to block the sunlight that nearly hit her teary eyes. "Zero..." she whispered, softly.
He has his reasons for all the secrets and why he kept it all to himself from her.
Right?
Yuuki just had to know.
She needs to know.

Moment Later...]
'This building sure has a lot of rooms.' was all Zero could think after Takuma showed him a few areas and rules. The noble vampire glanced at the indifferent hunter as they both walked side by side down the corridor of the second floor. "The basic rules of students are the same however, as vampires, we have a bit few more rules that we need to follow."
The silver-haired hunter shoves his hands in the front pockets of his skinny dark jeans. Takuma's lip twitched with a polite smile. "Of course, you would know the rules as a Night Student. However, allow me to refresh the rules. Even I, need to be reminded once in a while." he said, wanting to make sure to inform Zero that he wasn't trying to make the hunter's feel dumb.
Takuma happily scanned around their dormitory with softened gaze. "We are not allowed to bring humans in here. It's strictly forbidden. Curtains must be covered before dawn. As there are some vampires here who cannot handle the sunlight like us. Bond mates must have private rooms behind closed doors for their special feeding. Never interrupted them, otherwise, things will get very, very messy." he warned the cold hunter with a solemn glint in his forest-green eyes. Basement and the towers are forbidden."
They reached the end of the stairs and descended to the first floor while Takuma continue. "If you need blood tablets, you can go to the kitchen and ask one of the chefs. They will give you what you need. No questions." Zero grimaced at this part. He won't be needing them anymore. What he will need to feed on was Kain's blood. "If you have any concerns or questions, please, feel free to tell me and I will try the best of my ability to help in any way I can." Takuma sends his friendly smile at silver-haired hunter.
Zero tipped his head, acknowledged the rules while they sauntered to one of the rooms. The silver-haired hunter easily sensed the familiar auras gathered in the lounge room. His amethyst orbs landed on the vampires who are Kuran's inner circle.
The noble vampires are dressed in their casual outfits as they are resting on the couches. A certain wild vampire perked up when his burnt-orange eyes saw Zero. "Hello, Guardian-san!" Kain greeted his friend, happily as he stood up from his seat.
Kain ignores the warning glares from Aido and Ruka while others just watch with neutral interested. Takuma made a beeline straight to his target with a lovely smile. "Mon amour." he reached his mate and gently stroke Shiki's cheek.
"What do you think of the Moon Dorm?" the wild vampire half-grinned at the cold hunter. Zero just shrugs his shoulders, aloof.
Ruka scoffed while Aido crossed his arms with a scowling face. "Excuse me. This building was planned and made from a blueprint by Kaname-sama!" the blonde idol snapped at the silver-haired hunter, rudely.
Kain grabbed Zero's wrist, not unkindly, and dragged him further into the lounge room. "So?" the Prefect hunter grumbled, uncaringly. He was not interested in learning more history behind the Cross Academy. He had enough of that from the legendary ex-hunter, thank you very much.
Takuma sits on the couch's arm while placing his arm around his mate's shoulder. Shiki leaned close to the blonde noble vampire as if he belongs there, by his side. Next to him, Rima is quietly munching on her favorite snack. Across from them, Ruka and Aido glares at Zero who is dragged by Kain to another sofa.
"You're a vampire, huh." Aido commented, unimpressed as he is eyeing Zero. The silver-haired hunter has no choice but to sit next to Kain. Aido ignored Kain's warning eyes as the idol vampire open his mouth. "Level D vampire?" he looked down at Zero with a sneer.
"Aido." Kain narrowed his eyes at his cousin who huffed in response.
The idol vampire leaned back against the cushion of the couch. "What? It's a fact." he defended himself.
"Incorrect." all gazes turned to the doorway where Kaname leaned against the doorframe, comfortably. A calm smile is displayed on his face yet his auburn eyes are filled with mystery glint.
"Kaname-sama!" Aido and Ruka stood on their feet when they saw their leader while Takuma smiles as Shiki and Rima exchanged curious glances. Kain allowed a smirk to appear on his face while Zero inwardly sighed, knowing that these vampires will learn of his true status.
The Pureblood King lazily crossed his arms while slightly tilting his head. "Kiryuu-kun is not a Level D vampire." his interested auburn eyes meet calm amethyst eyes. "In fact, he's a Blueblood vampire." he announced it, calmly.
Stunned silence in the lounge room.
Aido's jaw dropped as his eyes are wide open to the fullest extent while his eyebrows raised high. Ruka paled with aghast and shock. Takuma's eyes widen as his entire body stiffed. Shiki blinked owlishly, attempting to process the shock information in his brain. Rima was electrified frozen as if she were a statue.
Kain watches them with mirth dancing in his brunt-orange eyes, enjoying watching their reactions. Zero mentally sighs with resigned. The silver-haired hunter just knew that these noble vampires will treat him differently all because of how the shadow society's system works. After all, Blueblood vampires are practically higher than Aristocratic vampires. From what he learned, thanks to his ancestor's lover.
The idol vampire jerked his head at Zero. "W-what?! Y-you ar-are...b-but... how?!" he didn't want to believe it but that would make Kaname-sama a liar. And he knows that Kaname is not a liar. Never would lie such thing about claiming this hunter's status as a Blueblood.
After all, Blueblood vampires are scarce in the shadow society.
Zero leaned back heavily against the cushion of the sofa with a resigned sigh released from his lips. "My ancestor was one of the Quintet of Ancestors." he went straight to the point with the shortest version.
Once again, all noble vampires except Kaname and Kain, gapped with incredulity and flabbergasted at the silver-haired hunter. Aido's mouth opened and close a few times, attempting to comprehend what he just heard. Ruka is completely at a loss of voice, she couldn't even utter a sound. Shiki shifted his shocked eyes to Takuma who is slowly turning his surprise into thoughtful. And Rima couldn't even bring herself to finish her snack.
Takuma turned his gaze to Kain who seemed to be very calm by the shocking news. "It seems this news isn't a surprise to you, Kain." he pointed it out, calmly with curiosity.
"I already knew." the wild vampire lazily admitted with a half-grinned.
Aido snapped his icy-blue orbs at his cousin dumbfounded and offended. "You knew and you didn't tell me?!" They both supposed to share the information whenever they discover something that could affect the shadow society.
Kain frowned at Aido. "It's not my secret to tell." the idol vampire opens his mouth to argue but Kain interjected. "I cannot disobey his order, Aido." he said, solemnly with a serious glint in his burn-orange eyes. The idol vampire's mouth shut with a snap. He reluctantly accepted his cousin's answer without arguing.
Zero silently wondered when did he order Kain? He recalled that Kain promised not to say anything about his true bloodlines.
"Well, this changes everything." the Vice President voiced out while turning his gaze to Kaname. "Once the words spread out that Kiryuu-sama's true status as a Blueblood vampire will surely reach the Council of Ancestors and the Shadow Society in a few days."
The Pureblood King nods his head, confirming that his friend is correct. "Precise."
The silver-haired hunter frowned with perplexity. "Is it really that big of a deal?" Aido and Ruka made incredulity noises from the back of their throat while Shiki and Rima stared at the hunter blankly. Kain's lip twitched with amusement while Takuma smiles awkwardly, unsure how to answer the question properly.
Kaname stared at a beautiful silver-haired hunter that he silently wishes Zero belongs to him. "Do you know the ranks of vampires in shadow society, Kiryuu-kun?"
'De'ja vu question.' Zero mused, as he nodded his head wordlessly.
The Pureblood King gracefully pushed himself away from the doorframe, and ambled forward in the lounge room. "In the Shadow Society, they are preferred to known to hold the ranks of the royalty systemβ" Aido and Ruka quickly stumbled up to their feet, giving up their seats for the Pureblood King. Kaname smoothly sit down on the free couch with his leg crossed over his other leg and one of his elbows resting on the arm of the couch. His jawline rested on his fist as his other free hand lay lazily on his lap. "βRoyalty, Dukes, Earls, Viscounts, Barons, and Knights. The rest are commoners and attackers."
Zero narrowed his eyes at Kaname with a contemplative glint in his amethyst orbs. "Attackers which I assumed is Level E Rank of vampires." he stated.
"Correct." Kaname tip his head as his auburn eyes soften which caught Takuma's curious attention. "Commoners are Level D Rank of vampires. Knights are Level C Rank of vampires." then he lifted his free hand, and wave around him as if he gesture to all the noble vampires. "Earls, Viscounts, and Barons are all Aristocratic which means Level B Rank of vampires, depending on how much influences their family have."
Then the Pureblood King dropped it back to his lap and tilted his head slightly on his fist. "And you, Kiryuu-kun, the Blueblood which makes you the Duke. And they are Level AB Rank of vampires." Zero blinked surprised by this information. He never heard of such rank before. "And lastly, Royalty are Level A Rank of pureblood vampires."
'Huh...well this going to be troublesome.' Zero grimaced, he didn't realize just how deep his bloodlines go in the shadow society. He silently wondered if Sanctus knew, and that if the ancestor pureblood does know, Zero will shoot him with his trustworthy Bloody Rose gun for not giving him a warning. 'Again, what does my ancestor see in him.' he quietly grumbled.
"Do you have any question?" Kaname carefully scrutinizes the lovely hunter's appearance. Personally, enjoying taking his time to memorize, again. Takuma subtly watches the leader with sharp eyes.
The silver-haired hunter eyed the Pureblood King blankly for a moment. He does have questions about the Shadow Society since he never bothers to learn the details from his other life. However, he rather talks with his ancestor's lover than talk with Kuran Pureblood. He doesn't hate the Pureblood King but, he barely tolerates Kuran. "Not at the moment, no." he wisely replied.
The disappointment flash through Kaname's eyes and quickly expertly covered them with a calm smile. "When you do, please, feel free to ask me." he effortlessly ignores his inner circle who send him stupefy and baffled looks.
Zero cocked his inquisitive eyebrow at Kaname for a brief moment then nod his head, silently acknowledged. His amethyst orbs glance around the noble vampires with ponder. 'This just starting to get bizarre more and more.' he mused, inwardly sighed with weary.

The female teacher is lecturing as she writes the blackboard with white chalk, explaining the history. While the class is continuing, Yuuki stares at the board with a blank look on her face while idly holding her pencil. The brunette's best friend, Yori, kept glancing at her every few minutes with concerned eyes.
Until Yori leaned close to Yuuki with a soft whisper. "Yuuki, are you alright?"
The brunette Prefect blinked and shifted her brown eyes to Yori. "Huh?"
Yori frowns. "You've been distracted ever since this morning." she glanced at the empty notebook in front of Yuuki. "You have not write a single thing. You know our Class President won't be pleased with you, right? If you continue to slack off." she gently pointed it out.
"Um...right, that..." Yuuki could feel the dark angry aura coming from a certain Class President who is glaring at her from the distance. The brunette girl sweatdropped with a sheepishly weak smile as she attempt to ignore the angry glower while turning her head to her side.
Yuuki noticed Kaito who is sitting near the windows from the corner of her eye. Her heart squeeze painfully when she realize that spot was usually for Zero. The brunette held a small hope that Zero continue attend to this class but it vanished the second when Kaito arrived and easily replaced Zero's spot in the class.
Not only that, Kaito obviously didn't like Yuuki which she doesn't know why.
Hopefully, he can answer her and maybe, she can fix it and someday, they'll be friends.

Zero's Dorm Room
Moment Later...]
Long fingers loose his dark-red tie as his amethyst eyes stare at the reflection from the oval-shaped mirror above the vanity. A frown appeared on his face while observed his new uniform. He wears a white vest over his black dress shirt, a white pair of pants, and a white jacket with black lining design.
It's strange to see himself wearing a Night uniform. However, the only one missing is the Prefect band. A soft sigh released from his lips as he register that he might have to ask for certain Pureblood about the Prefect band. He would ask for Vice President, however, he doubts that Takuma knows about his conditions.
"Just great." Zero grumbled.
Then suddenly, he felt the familiar aura outside of his door. He turned his head at the door before the knocks were heard. The silver-haired hunter strode across his dorm room to the door, extend his hand to the doorknob and twist it open.
Kain grinned at Zero. "Yo, Guardian-san." he examined Zero's appearance. "Night uniform suits you." he easily compliments the Blueblood vampire.
Zero grunted, stepping aside for Kain who walked inside. The wild vampire happily studied the dorm room with a soft impressed whistle. "Fancy." he comments lazily. Kain shoves his hands in his front pockets with thoughtful twinkles in his burnt-orange eyes. "We still have a few more hours before we leave for class." he said, with a questioning raise an eyebrow at Zero.
"I am aware of thatβ" Zero adjusted the cufflinks, idly. "βbut things will be different for me. I will have to do patrol and duty as a Prefect." unaware that sparks Kain's interest as he perked up. "Although, I will have to get the Prefect band from your President." the hunter murmured.
The wild vampire hummed with intrigued and pondered. "Out of curiosity, is Fox-san by chance, a Prefect?" with a slightly expectant tone.
The silver-haired hunter blink lazily as he comprehends what the noble vampire just uttered to him. "Fox-san?" he tilted his head thoughtfully; if he recalled it correctly, didn't his sworn brother wear a fox mask from the masquerade ball? "...do you mean Takamiya, Kaito?" he clarified, just to be sure.
Acknowledged sparks in burnt-orange eyes. "Hai. A very cute angry fox." a playful smirk appeared on Kain's face.
Zero's lip twitched slightly with dry amusement. 'Aah, to think that Kaito's favorite time to flirt with dangers seems to finally flirt back.' he mused, wondering how Kaito would feel about this. He is aware of how much his sworn brother despises vampires. "He detests vampires." Zero warned Kain, not unkindly. "He will use his weapon on you if you pissed him off."
"Just the way I like it in my partner." The wild vampire mischievously winked at the silver-haired hunter. Zero just shakes his head yet a tiny ghost smile appeared on his face. He can't help but feel pity for his sworn brother.
It seems that Kaito has got himself fascinated by a noble wild vampire.

Kaname's Private Office
Meanwhile...]
An inky-black black brand of cloth with white lining at the edges, sitting on the surface of his desk. Kaname gently lifted the Prefect band. He traces it with his index finger over the custom symbols; a red gothic cross with a pearl-white rose.
The silver-haired hunter will be the first Night Prefect of Cross Academy.
Which made Kaname's heart glow with pride. His hunter is so strong and so determined that he wants to continue his duty, despite that he knew that he is the only Night Prefect who exists. However, the Pureblood King doesn't want Zero to take all the heavy responsibilities.
It's a shame that he cannot take the role as he would love to get to know and work with the beautiful hunter.
'Maybe I can have one of the noble vampires to take up a Prefect position and work with Kiryuu-kun?' Kaname mused, with a few ideas in his mind as he lifted his free index finger and thumb on his chin. He can think of a couple who might be interested in taking the role as Night Prefect. 'Kiryuu, Zero... you just made this lifetime more interesting.' a slightly excited smile appeared on his face.
He is looking forward to it.
