The wait

Morality was subjective and most of the time it all came down to might makes right.

Sosuke Aizen, a man of many faces which all were in fact just different faces of his true nature, was someone who had lived by those words for centuries.

Case in point, Ichigo and his friends had teamed with him because Sosuke was their only path towards saving their world, yet they still held to the naivety of youth and clinged to childish notions.

"Those people, the ones at the outskirts of the village right now, what do you make out of them?" Uryu asked, his eyes big behind the glasses did nothing to make them less sharp.

"An ambush" Sosuke said with a happy smile, finding the situation positively hilarious.

Uryu bit his lips and looked outside the window in the direction of Orihime's reiatsu was. Ichigo better made his move or he would find himself without a maiden to woo.

"Stay with her. Orihime's powers are necessary to open the gates towards our dimension"

The Quincy rose a slim eyebrow but said nothing more about that issue, instead, he finally brought up a matter which had his mind occupied in the last weeks.

"I have been unable to put to rest the spirits lingering on the Uchiha compound. Ichigo made a try two days ago, but without Pluses, he can't do any burial"

"The spiritual world doesn't quite work like us" the Shinigami started, sounding exactly like a professor in his lecture "Souls can be parted from their bodies, even take possession of people alive. As proof, we spiritual beings are using these gigais. In other words, spirits need to reside on vessels. Normally, as you can guess, the souls would remain tied to their mortal bodies, so, if we came with body parts of the Uchiha and a complete vessel, purifying their soul would be easy to do"

Uryu took a small breath as he composed a way to word his inquiries "There's a problem, most Uchiha's were cremated"

"It isn't them who are becoming an empty ghost akin to our hollows" Sosuke deadpanned "It's those whose bodies are being violated and their spirit, their chakra, used beyond their tombs, who are on constant pain and agony"

The teenager winced against his will but before he could ask for more information, Orihime's reiatsu moved towards an agglomeration of people. That was Sosuke's cue. He stood up, grabbed a hat and grinned at Uryu.

"Are you coming, Uryu?"

"Where?" The young man asked, managing to keep his posture through Sosuke's casual addressing.

"To the spectacle"

Kakashi saw Dr. Aizen and his protégées, Uryu and Orihime. The three foreigners were sitting together, their looks turning more than one head their way, but it was their relationship with Kakashi's students which drove the ninja to put special attention on those three.

Naruto loved Dr. Aizen to a dangerous level. The Third Hokage himself worried about the brown haired man's influence over Naruto. The feelings of gratitude of the Jinchunriku towards a foreigner needed to be squashed but they couldn't compromise Naruto's mental state during the Chunnin's exam.

For that same reason, Uryu Ishida lived still even though he mingled with matters that were only for Konoha to know. It burned on his blood whenever he recalled Sasuke denied special training because he prioritized giving a foreigner quack information about his family.

Luckily, Sakura had kept her distance from Orihime Inoue. Pretty as she might be, the young woman was part of a dangerous group. As mercy, Kakashi thought to himself, he would kill her fast.

The Junin felt a shiver on his nape and turned his attention sharply away from the trio and to the court. There was a good distance between them, but still, he could make out the orange haired youth glaring at him though Kakashi was concealed. That one, Ichigo Kurosaki, was dangerous.

Naruto buzzed with energy. He was ready to take over the world and he felt jolly when he saw his cherished Sakura waving at him and on the opposite side of the stadium he found Dr. Aizen. He would make them proud.

There was a scoff behind him and Naruto glanced over his shoulder. There, red raccoon given a pale boy's body was staring down at Naruto. Bold move from someone without eyebrows, but then, that kid was able to murder in cold-blood another ninja when multiple Junins were watching. It took no genius to know that kid was gonna be in trouble, but Naruto felt confident in his abilities.

In the blond head's mind, Gaara would be the most his opponent on the last round though in his heart he wished it were prick Hyuga. Naruto had a bone to pick with the fratricidal man. He would teach him to never hurt kind people like Hinata again. It was a shame, but Neji would fail either against Ichigo or the red raccoon.

In front of him, Ichigo and Chad stood. Paragons of stoic ninjas, they kept their cool even when being on the front lines. Sasuke was at their side and suddenly, Naruto was hit with an odd sensation about their arrangement. It was almost like if Sasuke and the Kumo Ninjas were purposely put front and center, like a ninja wanted their targets to be. Naruto crossed his arms, shook his head about the insanity of that thought. Sasuke was from the infamous Uchiha clan, beloved by all Konoha, so if he was in front it was just so Konoha could show every nation how awesome they were.

Naruto smiled, he almost forgot his rival on his mental count. Maybe, they both would show the world what Konoha's ninjas were made of.

Grimmjow stirred from his lazy nap on the ceiling. The air felt heavy and dry, in wait for some bloodshed. Once upon a time, on one of the multiple lives that formed the enormous conglomerate that was the Menos known as Grimmjow, there was a simple foot soldier who massacred whole villages, leaving no survivors and whatever lingering regret of that life made its way to Grimmjow's instincts. Whatever lurked outside the walls wanted more than lands, it wanted a full massacre.

The hollow snarled. Konoha was hollow and decaying, a place built upon corpses and with a seemingly benevolent lord clad in white. It was about to be invaded and it was a really dry day and Grimmjow was thirsty too.

I haven't been in FF because the ads are too much, but hey, maybe there's someone who might be wondering about this fic.
