Fitz proposed, she said yes.

He said to the press he's in a relationship, but didn't give a name.

Teddy had a severe allergic reaction so something he ate.

Olivia said to reporters outside her house that she is in fact the president's girlfriend

News of her sudden declaration traveled fast, reporters were crowding outside the hospital when she returned. Her phone didn't stop ringing, it was mostly Cyrus, and Abby, they just wanted to know how to proceed. However the only call she picked up was the one from Fitz. He just wanted to make sure she was okay.

"How are you?" He voiced full of concern, he was really concerned she regretted what she did, and that she would freak out trying to do damage control.

"Worried" She replied, he thought she didn't sound as worried as he thought she would.

"People seem to be taking it well" He tried to reassure her, not quite realizing the reason of her worry.

"Oh no, not about that, I'm still worried about Teddy. I know the doc said he's fine but I can't help it." Olivia cleared up.

"Welcome to parenthood" Fitz said with some relief. He was glad she finally understood it was pointless to worry so much about what people said when there was only so much they could do. He was proud of her for finally ripping of the bandage.

She laughed, it wasn't the first time she felt that way. When Jerry got the flu she had a mini heart attack every time he coughed even after the doctor had confirmed it was just a flu.

"Oh my God" She had a sudden moment of realization.

"What?" He asked suddenly worried again.

"How am I gonna get when I get pregnant, or when I'm taking care of a tiny fragile newborn? God I'm gonna be one of those moms that call the pediatrician every hour" She shivered at the thought.

Fitz smiled, realizing she was already thinking about having more kids. If it were up to him they would be trying already, but he knew he had to wait a little while longer.

"It happens to the best of us" He told her, momentarily getting lost in the thoughts of her pregnant, and then with a little baby in her arms.

"I'll be there in a few" she told him, bringing him back to reality.

"Ok, love you"

"Love you too" She hung up the phone and forced herself not to think too much about the consequences of her little stunt with the press.

Olivia spent the night at the hospital with Fitz, no one could bother them there, but once they left all bets were off. She hadn't even talked to anyone on her team yet, all she did was text Abby telling her they would discuss it in the morning. At 6am Teddy got his first check up of the day and was found to be perfectly fine. The gladiators were on edge waiting on Olivia's instructions on how to proceed.

Problem was, that she actually didn't know what to do. She caught herself by surprise, Olivia didn't even know what came over her that she had the guts to do that. A part of her wanted to go into full gladiator mode and do damage control somehow. However another part of her just wanted to own it and move forward. The sooner the status of her relationship was all out in the open, the sooner Fitz and her would be able to just live their lives the way they wanted.

If she was honest, Fitz wasn't the only one getting excited at the prospect of having a baby. A lot had gone through her mind that night and she realized that she was as desperate as him to get married and show their family to the world, to show their love to everyone without any reservations. She no longer wanted to hold back and pretend to just be starting a relationship and act like she didn't know where it was going. She was tired of having to sneak into the White House when she could just be living there already. There was literally no good reason for her having a poor nights sleep in her empty bed, and she was finally beginning to see things the way Fitz did.

Olivia realized it was hard to be the client and the fixer at the same time, so she came to the conclusion that maybe she had to let her team handle things without her input. Abby was perfectly capable of leading the team and having Harrison back she was confident her gladiators could take on anything. So after the nurse left the room she finally called her friend.

"Good morning Abby" She said when her friend picked up.

"Olivia thank God you called, we need to know how to proceed we need to do something because" Abby started ranting.

"What would you do?" Olivia interrupted Abby.

"What do you mean?" She asked confused.

"I mean, how would you handle it?" Liv asked.

"I…" Abby hesitated, unsure of where their conversation was going.

"Abby, you have been by my side for a very long time I'm sure you can come up with a good plan" Olivia told her.

"So what are you saying?"

"Abby I can't be my own client, it's exhausting so I'm leaving this in your very capable hands. Proceed as you see fit, consult the team, come up with a plan, do the great work you have been doing for years. I mean you guys handled his divorce without any help from me, while working on that other very delicate side project. I trust you. I have to go now Teddy will probably be discharged soon"

Olivia ended the call leaving Abby a little dumbfounded. A few seconds later she got a call from Harrison asking her what were their orders. That's when it hit her that she had to call the shots. She told him to meet her at the office and proceeded to call everyone else. It was go time and she had no time to waste.

"Hey" She greeted Fitz when he walked inside the room.

"Everything okay?" He asked since she looked a little serious.

"Yeah" She smiled at him.

"Good, I just signed Teddy's discharge papers, we can leave soon" He informed her.

"Hear that little man? We are going home now" Olivia ruffled the little boy's hair and he smiled.

A few minutes later the nurse came back to take out his IV and get him ready to leave. Fitz had requested a different doctor de previous night so O'Connor didn't return that morning to see them off. Instead, a much younger and nicer female doctor entered their room that morning.

"Good morning, I'm Dr. Ramirez I can see our patient is doing great this morning, and I'm guessing you guys want to go home so I'll keep it short." She was perky and shook both of their hands.

"That would be great doc" Olivia replied, liking the change of doctor.

"We ran all the necessary tests and it's safe to assume kiwi was the culprit, so no more kiwi from now on" Dr. Ramirez told them.

"I will ban it from the White House" Fitz said making her chuckle.

"What about the other fruits he was eating, is there any risk?" Olivia asked the doctor.

"Strawberries tend to be common allergens, but they don't seem to be the problem here, and neither the blueberries or grapes. I understand this makes you guys anxious, hospital visits tend to have that effect on parents, so you can stick to other fruits until you feel more comfortable and try with small quantities in the future. He's gonna be fine, kids are resilient" She assured them, giving them a little peace of mind.

Less than half an hour later they were on the motorcade on their way back to the white house. Olivia was holding Teddy's hand and Fitz had his arm around her. Upon arriving at the white house they took Teddy to his room so he could rest, but when she tried to leave he wouldn't let her. In the end she decided to just take him to their bedroom so they would be more comfortable int he larger bed. Fitz kissed them goodbye and went to find the gladiators to get instructions for his press conference.

They had decided to talk as little as possible about Olivia's sudden admission of their relationship and focus on Teddy's health. Fitz went up to the podium and assured them his son was fine and it was just a scare, though he was well aware people didn't really care about his son at the moment. However he also knew that no one could complain, it was the well being of a little kid what was being discussed after all. He couldn't be accused of avoiding anything.

"Mr. President so… it would be safe to assume Miss Pope was by your side yesterday evening to help you through those difficult moments" One of them asked.

Fitz smiled internally at how the reporter tried to be somewhat subtle.

"Yes, she was" He replied.

"So we can also assume she will continue to be there?" Another one asked.

"That would be correct. I think that is enough for today, thank you all for coming" Fitz waved goodbye leaving the mob of disappointed journalists behind.

The rest of the day every single media outlet was juicing the last bit of his press conference as much as they could. They dug up every old photo of them together that they could find. Everything from his campaign and first term was being republished. People were quick to find subtle details in their posture, their hands, even their looks. At that moment they all worried about the cheating incident, it was bound to be brought up again.

Surprisingly enough, by the end of the day no one had mentioned it yet. At the moment Olivia held a hero status thanks to Jerry, and it was clearly weighing on the way the media was treating her. No one wanted to be the asshole who brought up old rumors and be accused of trying to slander the reputation of Jerry Grant's savior.

Over the next couple of weeks it did end up being mentioned a few times, sometimes to say how it was funny they did end up in a relationship after all and sometimes to say she was his lover all along. As expected, there were trolls and sensationalist media that tried to sway people to hate on them, but there weren't that many. Actually there was an overwhelming response of people coming out in their defense, making the non supporters insignificant.

The gladiators had decided to drop the engagement news somewhere at the end of October or beginning of November depending on how things were looking. And in a risky move they wanted to just have the wedding soon, to make it a Christmas wedding. Olivia had decided to stop worrying so much and act more accordingly to what she felt, and at the moment she felt that she just really wanted to be married to Fitz.

"We are really doing this aren't we?" Fitz said with a big smile on his face. They were returning to the residence after their first appearance together at a public function.

"Yes, we are" She replied with a smile just as big.

"We will be married before the year is over… that's"

"It's nothing short of a miracle" She said making him laugh.

"I agree"

Fitz sat in their bed staring at her as she got ready for bed, unable to wipe the goofy smile from his face. He was in awe at how much his life had changed that year, at how close he was to have the life he could only dream off for so long.

They were still careful but Olivia was way more comfortable with people knowing she spent a lot of her time at the White House, including nights. People judged as is usual, but she was so happy she found it hard to care. Fitz as usual didn't mind a single bit what people thought. Also the fact that they weren't trying to hide made the news about them less valuable so the media attention wasn't as bad as it had been at the beginning.

Karen and Olivia had been spending a lot of time together, so much that Jerry was beginning to get jealous. She spent most of her time at the White House and delegated a lot of work to Abby to limit her interactions with the media. The family had settled into a comfortable routine, and far from finding it boring, they were basking in the new normalcy of their lives. Everything had been so complicated and painful in the past that they craved the ordinary things.

There were moments where Fitz felt a tinge of anxiety about things going too well, that something problematic was bound to happen. Then something amazing would happen, like seeing Teddy running to Olivia's arms as soon as she walked to the residence and he knew that it didn't matter if things got complicated again. They'd gone so far already, they had overcome so many obstacles already that he knew they could get through anything and come out stronger.

As October was coming to an end, the date to announce their engagement was getting closer. After much speculation they decided to do it on the 1st of November, right after halloween. They didn't want to get things mixed up. The first kids had decided to do Star Wars themed costumes. Jerry would be Luke, Karen would be Leia and Teddy got to be Chewbacca, perks of being the youngest one.

Liv wore a silver earring and necklace set with the logo of the rebellion and wore a rebel pilot jacket over a simple black outfit. Fitz on the other hand had to be even more discreet, he simply put on a tie with imperial crest print, and was photographed using a light saber pen to work that day. White House employees were allowed to bring their children and they were given bags of candy. Later that afternoon Fitz and Olivia received some groups of children for trick or treating.

His three kids were only allowed to trick or treat inside the White House, Karen and Jerry found it boring, but Teddy had fun. All he cared about was the candy and he got plenty. Late that evening he sat with his siblings to count the loot. Afterwards they ate candy while watching Halloweentown. Olivia had decided to spend the night to she stayed with them for a while until Fitz went upstairs.

"Lock the door" Fitz told her once they had left the older kids to continue with their movie marathon. "I got a surprise for you"

Olivia did as he said and locked the door. She eyed him suspiciously, realizing there was something else besides his obvious intention to get laid. He took her hand and let her to their bed, then he sat her down and stood in front of her.

"Go ahead, take my shirt off" He said in a hoarse voice.

She started slowly loosening his tie just to tease him. It took her so long he almost ripped of the shirt himself. As much as he had a plan, he also just wanted to get down to business. Liv started with the buttons from the bottom up. That's when she realized he wasn't wearing a white undershirt, it was in fact blue. As she kept opening more buttons, she noticed red and white lines and finally caught on.

"Oh my god you didn't"

"Go on" Olivia finally got done with all the buttons and couldn't help but laugh. Fitz slid the shirt off his shoulders seeing she wasn't gonna do it any time soon.

He stood straight with his fists on his hips doing his best superhero pose.

"How's this Captain America working for you?" He said flexing his biceps, he was wearing one of those super hero work out shirts.

"Oh God" She giggled "You are something else" Fitz raised his eyebrows at her.

"So? Who wore it better?" He asked her. She seized him up. Desire written all over her face, her eyes traveled from his broad shoulders to his muscular arms and down to his toned abdomen.

"You of course" Olivia started sliding her hands underneath the tight fitting material. "But I'd rather see it off"
