Relationship and

History of Each State

Within Malaysia

...

In Malaysia, there are 14 states, including Kuala Lumpur. Some of Malaysia's states are quite famous for tourists and are considered as a hotspot for tourists. Now, you met the nation, time to meet the states! If America's and Japan's states were quite popular and crazy, Malaysia's states will sure to be even more crazy!

First, let's meet the heart of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur often abbreviated as K.L., is the federal capital and most populous city in Malaysia. A young male that takes the appearance of an 18 year old. He likes music and...anime! Every time Japan pays Malaysia a visit, Tokyo would always tag along to bring all the latest anime for Kuala Lumpur to watch.

Young Kuala Lumpur was founded in 1857 at the confluence of the Gombak and Klang rivers. In English, the name literally means "muddy confluence". The settlement started when a member of the Selangor royal family, Raja Abdullah, opened up the Klang Valley for tin prospectors. Since he was alone, one of the states, Selangor, took him in.

Kuala Lumpur began to prosper well when Yap Ah Loy was the headman. Kuala Lumpur's population of Chinese influence him to be able to speak and write the Chinese language fluently. Because of that, Kuala Lumpur taught his sister, Selangor how to speak and write the language of the East since Malacca and Penang are the ones that knew and because of British Occupation they were separated. Besides Chinese, Kuala Lumpur is also fluent in the Indian language and would teach his sister that as well.

The young capital is proud that Malaysia's (or Malaya that time) first prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman declared Malaya's independence in front of a massive crowd. He stood next to Selangor with tears running down his face as he sings the national anthem, Negaraku (My country). Kuala Lumpur came of age in 1974, when he was formally detached from his sister, Selangor and made into a unit of its own called the Federal Territory.

In present time, Kuala Lumpur has been a hotspot for tourists because of his Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower and major shopping districts. Singaporeans and other people (locals and foreigners) love to shop there as it is quite cheap. Singapore spends less when shopping in KL, quite cheap indeed! Because he has many things, he was a little spoiled.

Kuala Lumpur gets along well with New York and Tokyo as they are huge fans of anime but trouble always stir when these three are together, adding Hong Kong, South Korea and Seoul just make things worst. One time Malaysia's newly bought flat-screen TV broke down thanks to the states just because they were fighting and changing channels back and forth and another he borrowed Malaysia's car and got quite many tickets and some scratches and bents on the car. Malaysia was stomping and breathing fire everywhere that time. KL's raya money was used to pay for the damages and all. Japan made Tokyo pay as well, so at least KL didn't have to pay much.

Kuala Lumpur also has two brothers, Putrajaya and Labuan since they are part of the federal territories.

Putrajaya takes the appearance of a 24 year old man with the air of a politician. But he's not all that bad since he's part of Malaysia. He knew many things but he didn't say, thinking that it's not right. He does most of Malaysia's paperwork when Malaysia is out...somewhere. His place is quiet for some reason, locals knew the reason well. He plays the older brother at times but usually he's cooped up in the office, completing paperwork that the boss decide to throw on him. The only time the states can see him are during the holidays or his day off (very rare), thank goodness he has a lake at his place to watch the scenery. He's the professional type, making sure everything goes well though some things may gone wrong. One of the fortunate ones that didn't get the eyebrows, probably since he shuts himself in his office doing paperwork or out greeting VIPs and all.

Labuan is like a male version of the Philippines (because of Sabah) that looks like a 15-year old boy, loves to eat and have fun. Sabah's little brother and he is always trying his best to help his sister, a little sibling rivalry between him and Sarawak. He's pretty much the easy-go-lucky type. Philippines likes to dote on him. He's always the little brother type and a bit spoiled like KL though not in a bad way. He usually helps out in farm works since he concluded that what he does best. Sometimes the other states and Malaysia gave him some education stuff. Malaysia is not the one for teaching so she leaves that to the states. Along with Putrajaya, he didn't get the curse of the thick eyebrows.

Selangor, KL's big sister, like Ukraine, she always provide everything for her siblings but she always try and get KL to call her big sister which KL always refuses. Thanks to Norway who always try and get Iceland to call him big brother, Selangor did the same to her little brother KL. It was always successful when Selangor began to go into a dramatic state, rambling on and on about how KL was so obedient and all. She always visit KL whenever she got the chance. Bangkok likes to call this a family reunion.

Penang, Malaysia's sister, formerly known as Prince of Wales Island and is part of the Straits Settlemets along with Malacca and Singapore. She's more Chinese like Singapore and is a little sturbborn at times. One of the four states that does not have a sultan. She is very proud of her cooking and she speaks fluent Hokkien (not Taiwanese one). She's more on Buddhist than Muslim because of her people. She has quite many temples and old buildings. Tourists especially from Singapore loves to go there. Right now, she has street arts to boast about. Her nasi kandar is also quite delicious and the states would let her cook nasi kandar every time. Her nyonya (Malay-Chinese or Chinese-Malay race that are non-Muslims) cooking is quite good and would always compete with Malacca to see who cooks the best nyonya food. She and Singapore's relationship are said to be close.

She is more popular with the tourists and traditions, like throwing oranges to find your true love and all. China and England visit her often but Penang would always speak in a broken version of their language which Malaysia claps and give a thumbs up. America does pay her a visit sometimes but Penang would always shot him with some words since America is constantly getting on her nerves when he disobeyed her traditions (sometimes besides talking her ears off). She and Taiwan and practically the best of friends and these two like to dress each other up. When Japan came to visit, it would always be awkward but nevertheless, she's a good host, except that one time when the Malaysian team lost to the Japanese in the Thomas Cup, Penang is not the only one glaring at Japan wherever he goes. She is also good in sewing and embroidery like Malaysia because of her Nyonya heritage. A hint of inheriting thick eyebrows from England.

Malacca, Penang's sister, also famous for her nyonya cooking and is also quite stubborn and is also one of the four states that didn't have a sultan besides Penang, Sabah and Sarawak. She has many tourists venturing into her place and for that she is very proud. Sometimes, a heated cooking competition between the two will ensue and all the other states would be there to watch. She also speaks Hokkien and would always finds ways to attract even more tourists. Her old buildings left behind by the Portuguese and Dutch are very famous. She is a little more cheerful than Penang, also a home to the Babas and Nyonyas (Google search it). She is a bit different from her sister. She also likes to tease Singapore. Also good in sewing and embroidery like Penang because of her Nyonya heritage as well.

Cheerful and always had a smile on her face. She's like a younger version of Malaysia except more cheerful and all. She also holds an outstanding record when it comes to tourism, for that she is quite proud. She's more modernize than Penang and her Straits of Malacca has played a significant part in history and tourism.

Kedah, Penang's brother and the oldest male state in Malaysia, well because Kedah Tua is one of the oldest Hindu-Buddhist kingdoms that was found on the peninsular before he becomes the Kedah Sultanate. He is famous for his Langkawi Island, a famous island in Malaysia and also a top tourist destination. Foreigners use this opportunity to get themselves a tan, for locals, a swim in the beach is a way to cool down. He also shares his borders with Thailand, that is why when you're in Langkawi on a boat ride, you might venture into Thai's waters without noticing it. His sultan is the current Yang Di-Pertuan Agong (you could say it's a king's title in Malaysia).

Kedah's Langkawi Island isn't only famous for its beaches and all but also a legend that made Langkawi it is now. A beautiful young maiden named Mahsuri was killed because someone accused her of commiting adultery while her husband was away, out of jealousy. She was unjustly accused. In her anger, she cursed the island for 7 generations. Kedah also likes to shop in Langkawi besides going on vacation because of Langkawi's duty free shops. He along with the other states often fought who has the best beaches. Many states call him uncle even though he looks 39 just because he's the oldest. Till now, Kedah still curses the day England's eyebrow disease caught him.

Pahang, the oldest female state and acts like a big sister to the states not that Malaysia is but let's just say Malaysia isn't suit for that role. Pahang has been taking care of Malaysia ever since she was young, sometimes Indonesia and her fight on who gets to take care of her. Her Cameron Highlands are famous for its tea plantation and has delicious strawberries. England likes to drink some tea there but a peaceful moment is always short since the states might wander around and messed with him, especially Malaysia. Sometimes Pahang likes to hang around in the country's largest national park, Taman Negara. Sabah likes to go there once in a while, courtesy of Malaysia.

Pahang attracted marine traders from Srivijaya empire. After the fall of Srivijaya, Pahang was fought over by the Portuguese, the Dutch, Johor, and Aceh for most of the 16th century. Thailand likes to call it, fighting to save the princess which her other siblings snorted in response especially her brothers. In 1896, Pahang joined Selangor, Perak, and Negeri Sembilan in the Federated Malay States. This evolved into the Federation of Malaya in 1948 and into the Federation of Malaysia in 1963. Tomboyish as well, she always straighten things out between her siblings even though sometimes she could get in trouble. A cool and outgoing state with both country and city mix.

For Negeri Sembilan, the personifications are non-identical twins. Cheeky and all, often seen running around having fun. Pulling pranks and all on the people they don't like. They are different from the other 8 royal states, the selection of their ruler is different. The twins received much influence from the Minangkabau and it is the only state that still practices adat perpatih or matrilineal custom in English. The twins like to play at the beach especially at Port Dickson, nice beach since that is the only famous attraction. Negeri Sembilan, while under England's rule, successfully giving each officer that is in charge of them a major headache. Though they act like children, their mature side will come out when the situation calls for it. They are also big eaters like the rest of their siblings. Because they keep running around, not a surprise the 'eyebrow curse' got them.

Perak appears as a 12 year old boy. He respects his siblings very much and is quite famous for his Lost World of Tambun attraction besides the many other things. His pomelos are also quite tasty and also for the salted chicken that many Chinese at his place love to eat. He also speaks Hakka since many Hakka Chinese are from Ipoh. He was named after a river with the same name (still exists even now). He exports a lot of tin, which makes him rich. He was placed under British protection for his own good, because of that, he got the infamous eyebrows. Perak never stop whining for days because of that. As a result, his siblings never did get some sleep.

Terengganu, a young traditional yet modern woman. She is famous for her lovely beaches, sometimes she would like to go for a dive. She hates when someone doesn't take care of her beaches. Her dialect in the Malay language is slightly different from the other states. To make it easier to understand, try comparing Tokyo and Osaka. They speak the same language but the dialect is different. Her favourite past time is eating keropok lekor while watching football. Her keropok lekor is one the delicious cuisine the states loved. Like other Malay states, Terengganu practiced a Hindu–Buddhist culture combined with animist traditional beliefs for hundreds of years before the arrival of Islam. Under the influence of Srivijaya, Terengganu traded extensively with the Majapahit Empire, the Khmer Empire and especially the Chinese. Also the first Malay state to receive Islam, as attested to by a stone monument. Bascal lives at her place and constantly cycle around the neighbourhood. (A/N: During the Bascal chapter, Terengganu's gender is male but because of a reader's request, Terengganu's gender was changed.)

Johor, one of the 'adults' or so the younger states called him. He had to succumb to the 'eyebrow curse' as well after being under England's rule. One of the states that still has a Sultan and the closest state to Singapore. His 'Legoland' is like his backyard playground, he often goes there whenever he had free time and also the first in Asia. Sometimes he would bump into Singapore since there is a bus going there from his place as well. He acts like a guardian and all to the younger states. He also speak a different dialect of Malay. His culture is also slightly different from his siblings. Johor's favourite food is Laksa Johor and Satay. His weekends are Sunday and Monday unlike the other states.

Kelantan, one of the states in Peninsular Malaysia, also one of the 'matured ones' as well. His boss is very strict in Islamic laws, causing Kelantan to not be able to practice his traditional arts like Wayang Kulit (Shadow Puppets). He is a bit different from Japan, in his kitchen, sugar is compulsory in his kitchen. Most of his dishes are sweet unlike Japan. His dishes are mostly influenced by Thailand's cooking in which Thailand is proud of that. He used more coconut milk in his cooking than the other states. He also speaks a different dialect of Malay called Kelantanese Malay. He's more of a sweettooth than his siblings. When it comes to entertainment, he would sneak off to one of siblings' place to watch, without even bother to leave a note to his boss. Not a surprise the boss made it into Kelantan's most hated list. But then, most idiots involved in politics did made it to the nation's hate list.

Perlis, the smallest girl and also the smallest state in Malaysia. She has the Satun and Songkhla Provinces of Thailand on her northen border with Kedah on her south. Under the unfluence of the Siamese before she was returned to Malaya. She was originally part of Kedah though she came under rule by Siam or Aceh, she called Kedah her brother unlike Penang. She's not popular with foreign tourists unlike her other siblings. She could only gain some popularity with her state park and all. She also likes to fish and would always be seen eating seafood at her own restaurants. Perlis is also the state counterpart to Canada, being ignored by the rest of her siblings sometimes. When Canada visits, the two of them would always hang out together for some pancakes and other lovely deserts, just the two of them...

In East Malaysia, Sarawak and Sabah were the only states that were there. Sarawak is like a male version of Malaysia. Cool, cheeky and loves to have fun. His closest neighbour is Brunei, sometimes he likes to tease Brunei about being sandwiched between him and his sister, Sabah. He usually likes to hang out with the animals, especially his rangatans. He was asked to join Malaya along with Singapore, Sabah and Brunei. At first he was reluctant to join but with persuasion from England, he decided to join Malaya to become Malaysia. He's very soft on Sabah and protective of her. He was one of the lucky ones that didn't get the thick eyebrows. His place is also full of the Iban tribes. Sarawak's Malay is also different despite not having a Sultan at his place.

Kuching, Sarawak's capital. He has a lot of merchandise about cats, well at least Malaysia wouldn't have to worry about getting Greece a birthday present. He also kept a lot of cats and named it after his siblings. However his siblings didn't respond well to that. Takes the appearance of a 20 year old, he had some sort of a identity crisis but at least he's a better cook than his siblings. His town was still undamaged despite the Japanese invasion. He's a good English speaker than his siblings and some Chinese. He's also a neat freak unlike his siblings.

Miri, takes the appearance of an 18 year old girl. She's the bossy type, she likes to order Sarawak and Kuching around. She had a rapid growth in Eco, tourism and culture. That's why in every festivals or events, she wasn't allowed to be in charge or she'll boss everyone around.

Sabah, a young timid girl of 12 years that looks like a mini version of the Philippines. Even though she's part of the Philippines (or so they say), Sabah is invaded by England and has been under his care for a long time. Philippines at first opposed Sabah from joining Malaya but she reluctantly accept that Sabah joins Malaya on her own free will. The East Asian family would always appear at her place for a vacation. She is usually seen swimming alone at her seas or chatting with Sarawak. Security at her place is pretty tight ever since some incident happened long ago. Right now, Sabah carries a weapon wherever she goes for self-defense, not wanting to rely on Sarawak or Malaysia for protection. She can also speak Philippines's language. Sarawak and Labuan tend to get attached to her and fight over it.

Trumpets

and

Action!

"Welcome back ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls to our show!" Both Male and Female Malaysia greeted, as they enter the stage, wearing FIFA World Cup jerseys. Looks like Brazil isn't the only one affected by World Cup fever.

"Hehe, like our jerseys?" Male Malaysia asked.

"To celebrate the ongoing FIFA World Cup of course. Brazil is willing to lend us those while she's...having a moment with her boss." Female Malaysia added.

Singapore snorted in the audience. "You stole those when she wasn't looking."

A glare was sent to Singapore which he shrugged it off.

Male Malaysia cleared his throat before continuing. "Well, Singapura (Singapore), since you're so eager on this, come to the stage and do the presentation for us."

"Before that, how about a draw of a card to determine the fate of the universe?" Female Malaysia asked, showing a few cards in her hand to Singapore.

A few in the audience rolled their eyes and Singapore was no exception. Better get this over with so that he could watch some dramas later on. Singapore walks up to the stage and pulls out a card. Turning over the card, it shows the picture of...

Singapore's eyebrows twitched a little as he turned the card to both Malaysians. "What should I do now that I had decided the fate of the universe?" he asked.

The two Malaysians grin. "Show time." they both said as a rope was lowered to them. Male and Female Malaysia tugged on the rope and yelled "Kimchi and Maple Syrup!" as the trap floor beneath Singapore activates.

"I'LL GET YOU FOR THIS!" Singapore yelled as he fell into the trap.

Female Malaysia presses a button on a remote control as a large TV screen was lowered. On the screen showed one or maybe two nations since the other is almost invisible. The nation on the left is an Asian with a flyaway curl and surprisingly that has a face on it while the other a Westerner has a polar bear clutched in his arms.

"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, animals and others, presenting South Korea and Canada! A request from Writer of Illusion again, his/her request is...the movie Zombi Kampung Pisang while the other, not a request is World Cup spirit in Malaysia!"

"Now that's settled, we'll be making our leave then!" Male Malaysia announced.

After that, both Male and Female Malaysia runs off the stage as the lights dimmed.

"Literally the movie means Zombies of Banana Village. It's a not so horror movie in Malaysia since it had some humour in it. One of the popular movies in Malaysia." Canada started before passing it on to Korea.

"There are sequels to that movie as well! Although some movies have couple of flaws but they are still counted as popular but not as popular as my dramas and Japan's anime! Obviously my dramas are more popular." Korea said.

"While World Cup is going on, Malaysia along with many other nations were already football-craze. Malaysians tend to unite and vote for the best team win! Train stations, newspapers, news channels and all contain everything about the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Brazil. It has also become the hottest topic to talk about in local restaurants as well!"

"Ask any Malaysians which team they support, their answers will be different the rest. Trust Malaysians to burn the midnight oil just to watch the World Cup live as well. Some Malaysians even put on World Cup jerseys especially Brazil's da-ze!"

Beep-

"Time's up! See you guys next time!" Canada said, waving.

"Watch more of my dramas da-ze!" Korea added.

...

A/N: I didn't give Putrajaya the bad politician stuff, since he's Malaysia's brother. Though at times he can be. Anyway, terribly sorry for the delay, classes started again and I couldn't find the time to finish it. So please read and review! Have yet to plan for the next chapter. Some changes were made so that it be general to everyone. Sorry, I just think it be fitting if every race in Malaysia not caring religion and all would just stop the conflict and show the world the good side of Malaysians!
