Preparing for the Birthday

...

February 1 was the day Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya celebrated their birthdays, however in different ways. But not with a major party and cake that the states have to buy.

"Now that the day is approaching us once again..." Kedah begins seriously before making eye contacts with the rest of the states and territories.

"Whose turn is it to buy their cake?"

The states and territories of course, pointed at each other without a moment hesitation. Kedah sweatdropped. Oh why no one volunteered but instead kept pushing responsibility onto others? Well it's probably because KL's taste for cake is high level even though his food are mostly refrigerated food unlike Penang's. Who make him like that? Not to mention, Putrajaya is quite picky when it comes to decorations while Labuan doesn't mind eating balut if he doesn't get anything! Anything but that!

Perlis raises her hand "Um, I have a suggestion."

"Go on Perlis."

Perlis nodded and continues "How about we get three different cakes for them? It doesn't have to be very big."

Johor nodded. "Good point. Maybe we should ask what flavour of cake they like. Just because they have the same birthday doesn't mean they like the same thing! And their taste buds are perfectly normal!"

Kedah stood up, clenching his fists and sheds a tear dramatically. "We had it now! The perfect birthday cake plan! All right, who will go over and ask them?"

Everyone points their fingers at each other once again. Kedah cried with Johor patting him on the back.

...

Malacca groaned. Just because she live closer doesn't mean she has to do this! Selangor should do it! Besides, isn't Selangor in charge of them long time ago? Well, at least she got McDonald's for a meeting place and cool drinks!

"Hey Malacca." KL greeted.

Malacca puts on a professional smile. "Hello there Brother KL, how are things going so far?"

KL shrugged. "Same, nothing change besides the weather."

Malacca nodded. Got that right, his place is damn hot! How could camels even survive in this kind of heat? Calm down Malacca, just ask him casually and finish the conversation...professionally.

"Hey KL, can I ask what flavour of a cake would you like?" Malacca asked sweetly.

KL blinked as he drinks his Coke. "Um...coffee or vanilla? Or maybe cheese...or maybe both?"

Internal shock got Malacca. He has multiple choices! He can't decide! Oh great! Why did Kedah assigned me this thing anyway? Selangor should have been a better candidate! Kak Malaysia too but...she's in Taiwan! Wait, SMS! Yes, just SMS them! That hits her...why can't she SMS KL in the first place? At the thought of that, Malacca felt like she just reach a new level of...

"How about coffee with vanilla KL? Or blueberry cheese?" Malacca asked, trying to sound calm.

Silence took over the two.

"Hmm...maybe strawberry or chocolate."

...

Next, Putrajaya. Not many Malaysians like the politicians or maybe some powerful people residing there. Political reason of course which had nothing to do with the story. Of course, who is in charge with 'interviewing' Putrajaya?

This job...was taken by Kedah himself. He thinks himself as the person in charge as his boss, the Sultan, is the current King after all.

"Now, where should I start?" Kedah asked himself, standing in front of a house that belongs to Putrajaya.

Walking towards the front door, Kedah rang the doorbell, hoping Putrajaya would answer.

Minutes later, Putrajaya answers the door with his usual unprofessional aura accompanied by bags under his eyes.

"What do you want Kedah?" Putrajaya asked wearily.

Kedah clears his throat before replying "Well, if you were to organize a party, how would you decorate the place?"

Putrajaya blinked. "Um...depends on how big the place is and also the party theme."

That when it hits Kedah. Where should the party be held? He hadn't thought about it yet...oh boy.

...

Sarawak walks to Labuan's home with Terengganu beside him.

"Geez, why must I ask him about it?" Sarawak whined.

"Aren't you two brothers?" Terengganu.

Sarawak didn't say anything.

"Then face it like a man."

Arriving at the fields where Labuan is working, the young territory looks up from plowing the fields, beaming at the sight of Terengganu but soured when his eyes landed on Sarawak. What is he doing here? Trying to think he's better off protecting Big Sister Sabah?

Terengganu clears her throat to gain some attention. "Now, before you two go wrestle each other. I have a question. What is your favourite cake Labuan?"

"Um...I'll be fine with anything really. Although chocolate and vanilla sounds nice." Labuan replied.

Terengganu nodded. "Thank you. Now, go and wrestle each other."

Both Sarawak and Labuan gave her looks. 'Shouldn't she be opposing this instead of supporting?'

...

Penang looks up from her phone from her couch when Kedah came staggering in, looking quite exhausted.

"You ok?"

"Never been better."

...

...

...

"I see. Have you find a place for the party?"

Kedah sniffed. "No"

"Good luck then. As long as I can get my share of the cake then I'll be OK with it."

"You will get your share you know."

"Indeed but...one slice is never enough."

...

Party Time!

...

Kedah steps back to look at his satisfied work, the decorations are perfect, the cakes are set to arrive soon and of course...the birthday boys as well. Someone poke at Kedah's shoulder.

"Oi, Kedah. Just to let you know that the guests start arriving already, so stop acting like a statue there and help me get ready!" Pahang scolded.

"In a minute Pahang."

Another poke.

"I'm not joking Kedah. KL, Labuan and Putrajaya are on their way already and help get the table ready!" Pahang snapped.

"Here allow me." Penang volunteered, holding a bucket of water and splashed it at him.

Pahang clapped in amusement. "Not bad sister!"

"P-Penang! What in the world are you-?"

"We're here!"

The three states snapped their attention to the door. The main guests have arrived.

...

"Happy birthday guys!" the states and territories exclaimed.

"Blow the candle now my baby KL." Selangor said, earning a glare from Kuala Lumpur himself and snickers among the other states and territories.

"Rock a bye baby KL." Labuan teased while snickering.

Kuala Lumpur turn to Labuan and said "You may be my brother but be warn I can send you flying if you don't stop."

"By the way," Johor spoke up. "Where's Malaysia?"

Right on cue, the double doors open revealing the said nation wearing her usual golden baju kebaya for parties and surprisingly...she showed up with twin tails. Everyone deadpanned at her.

"Kak Malaysia, may I ask what did you do to your hair?" Perak asked.

"Oh, didn't you heard? It's twin tails day! Or at least...in Japan." Malaysia answered.

"Hmm...can I see Kak Penang in twin tails as well?" Labuan inquired before someone or slammed the cake at his face angrily.

"Eh? No no no! I brought twin tail wigs as a present for you all!"

Silence...

"EHHHHHH!?"

...

OMAKE

...

New York yawns as he checks his Facebook page for updates during the monthly state meeting...out of pure boredom of course. As he scroll down the page, a certain picture that Malaysia uploads caught his eye. Out of curiosity, New York presses the picture to get a better look. The next thing he knew, he fell off the chair laughing.

"For Pete's sake, pipe down will you!" London yelled, approaching New York with a slightly annoyed look.

"Honestly New York, I expect you to be more behave than that." Paris commented.

"What are you looking at anyway?" Washington asked, annoyed and pissed.

Tokyo and Seoul leans over to take a look before trying to hold back their laughter. Kuala Lumpur stares at them.

"What are you lots laughing at?" Kuala Lumpur asked.

"Twin tails suits you a lot KL!" Jakarta commented after taking a look at the picture New York was showing.

Kuala Lumpur paled. Don't tell me-

"Twin tails! KL-kun, why didn't you tell us you are a fan of twin tails?" Tokyo asked with a grin.

"Discard that picture away or I'll incinerate it!" Putrajaya barked.

In the picture, the states were wearing twin tails which Malaysia took a picture of it and upload it to FB. If you squint, you might see Bascal with a thought 'I'm being forgotten again...'
