I don't own FMA.

Micha was feeling as anxious as ever. She wasn't able to buy an oven, like how she planned to. She was too busy spazzing out that her brothers got a hold of her, and they promised her that if she wasn't going to come home, they were going to her. She wanted to stay on the phone longer, but when Daniel had approached her, asking who she was talking to—the line got cut.

She wasn't upset at anybody. But she was furious with herself. Hearing how her brothers worried about her, and the hurt in their voices—begging her to come home. Both of them were talking over each other, with Winry occasionally telling them to shut up. She crumpled into a ball on her apartment floor, letting all the guilt and loneliness overwhelm her again. Daniel sat down on the floor, and cradled her in his lap as she cried until no more tears fell down her cheeks.

Once she had settled down, Daniel decided it would be best if they stepped out to get her mind off things. It was always best to keep her distracted.

"Is there a grocery nearby? I'm starving," he said.

Micha, remembering that they haven't eaten anything since the breakfast, snapped out of her spell and responded, "Yes. It's just a ten-minute walk from here."

During their walk to the grocery, Micha received a text that made her drop her phone.

We're coming to you. – R.H.

Still mildly in shock, she racked her brain for the dishes that she did know how to cook using a stove. There wasn't much. It was mostly pasta and some fried finger food. It was unacceptable that this is what she would feed her brothers. Cookies, and a pot roast was what she would have wanted to serve. She kept shoving things from the grocery shelves that she didn't need into her basket. Only to realize what she had done, picking up the item and starting at it like it was the zaniest thing she had ever seen, before hastily pushed it back where she took it.

Calm down. She thought. Breathe. She saw the text in her head again. Her heart rate was rising.

Sensing her anxiety, Daniel came up and took her now empty basket from her with his right hand. He placed his left arm around her shoulders. "If it makes you feel any better, I'll do the cooking tonight," he flashed her a perfect set of white teeth.

Micha glare at her friend. Was he insulting her cooking? "What? You're going to make omelets for dinner?" She snapped back.

He laughed at he snarky remark. "No, but I can cook a good beef stew, which goes perfect with rice. I think we'll all need something warm to eat." He looked at her with those green eyes, and she momentarily forgot to breathe. Either because of her anxiety, or the intensity of his eyes fixated on hers. She didn't know. She didn't like her tummy twisting to into tangled knots because of his arm around her. What was wrong with her? It's just Daniel.

She looked away, pink dusting her cheeks. "O-okay, fine." He smiled. Not removing his arm from around her shoulders, he ushered her to the produce section to finish their shopping.

A train made it's way efficiently down the old yet sturdy rail road. It passed by numerous snow dusted trees. It was a small and old train, one that was weathered by time, but still reliable. Its destination was a far off town, near the border of Amestris and Drachma. It was making its way up the mountain, only to come down again before reaching their next stop. It pulled four cabs. One for dining, one for lounging, and two for the private rooms for passengers. In one of the private rooms, sat three blond haired people.

Edward and Alphonse were both uncharacteristically quiet. They both sat stock still on the couch, looking at their gloved fingers. In front of them sat Riza. She was looking out the window, a hard expression in her eyes. She watched the snowy landscape whirl by. She shifted her gaze over to the two boys, studying them. It was quite unsettling how quiet and behave they have been, ever since Riza fetched them from school the previous day.

They both didn't argue with their babysitter when she told them to stay put in their rooms and do their homework while she prepared. Both their biological parents were nowhere in the Mansion anyway. Most of their staff had been keeping to themselves as well when not performing their duties. With that, it wasn't hard for them to avoid other people in their home.

Two men burst into their room, breaking her out of her reverie. "Coffee and doughnuts!" Jean held up a tray on his right hand, and a paper bag on his left. He had a big grin on his face. He was probably the most excited one in the group. Trailing behind was Kain. He was holding up two cups of hot chocolate. He silently handed it to the two boys, who took it gratefully and nodded their thanks; they both still refused to say anything. Riza took a cup of coffee from Jean's tray, and took a long sip. The hot liquid washed a calm wave through her whole body. She was too tense. Nothing bad was going to happen. They were going to see Micha after four months of no contact with her. They should all be all smiles, like Jean.

He plopped down on the couch next to Riza, and opened the bag of doughnuts. He took a big bite from one with sprinkles. "Oh come on. You guys need to lighten up. Nothing bad is gonna happen," he spoke with his mouth full. Jean handed the bag of doughnuts to the two boys. Their golden eyes lighted up. They loved their sweets, after all.

Kain was sipping on his coffee, distracted on his phone. He was tracing their location, and mapping out where they were set to meet Micha. "In less than two hours, we should be able to make it to the meeting point," he announced. "I already scanned and cloaked the area. We should be fine," he looked at everyone and smiled. This is why Maes insisted he bring these two men along. Not only were they capable, but they knew when to supply encouragement and assurances.

Riza let out a tired sigh and smiled at the two of them. "Thank you for your support."

Alphonse finally spoke up, "we will be in your care." He bowed. "Thank you for your help."

His older brother on the other hand, did not speak a word. His gaze had hardened on his white, gloved hands. He was finally going to see his sister. She was going to receive the biggest scolding in her life from her little brother.

Staring out of his office window, Roy held a glass of scotch with four ice cubes inside. He was swirling the contents inside the glass, before he drained all of the alcohol it contained in one go. Today wasn't a good day.

"Scotch, at eight in the morning?" His best friend was sitting at the couch, flipping through a few reports. "That's got to be a new record for you."

Roy did not reply. He moved his gaze towards the Northern direction. Seeing a few snowy peaks from afar. He looked at the glass in his hand and wondered which was emptier, the glass or his heart.

"Will you tell me how she's doing?" he finally spoke. "I know you know." His voice was low, but clear. To stranger, it would sound like he was asking a very simple question. As if asking if you knew the time.

Maes placed the papers down and studied his friend. Roy was still looking at the snowy mountains. To a stranger, Roy's posture was as immaculate and perfect as ever. However, Maes was no stranger. He knew this man since they were teens. He could see the slight hunch in his shoulders, and the hear the clouded wariness in his voice. Before he could speak up, Roy looked at him over his shoulder, a slight smile on his face.

"She always trusted you more than she ever trusted me."

Maes' green eyes widened. He looked down, the glare covering his eyes, clouding all emotion. True enough. Maes had his fair share of time with Micha. Even raising her when she was a baby until she was six years old with his wife. A sad smile grew on his lips. "You always were insecure about that," he joked.

Roy shrugged. "Maybe. I'm just glad it's you and not Izumi. That would irritate me more."

Maes laughed. He still cares. He thought. Roy was back to staring out his window, his face was obscured from Maes' vision.

After a few moments, his best friend finally answered the question that hung in the air. "She's your daughter. Of course she's doing fine."

In the reflection, Maes saw his best friend's lips tug at the corner in a knowing smile.

Daniel was coordinating with Jean. They both agreed it would be better if they didn't meet at a public place. The brown haired teen met with Jean's party at the station, and drove them all back to Micha's apartment. No one spoke during the car ride. Only Jean (sitting in the front passenger seat) would ask questions, and they were all pertaining to security. Who was the town's mayor, and other boring things to the two blond haired boys.

Edward and Alphonse both looked out the window, surveying and memorizing everything they could about the town. It was picturesque. With their old buildings, and cobblestoned streets. It was as if the town was stuck in time, locking in all its old charm and stories for itself. They immediately knew why their sister chose to live here. Despite her being tech savvy and claiming to be a forward thinker, deep down she was an old soul who loved old songs that their grandparents listened to, adored old fashion trends, and practices (especially in terms of courting).

Collectively agreeing that the luggage was unimportant, Jean, Kain, Riza, Ed and Al followed Daniel to Micha's apartment. There was no one around, save for two cats walking along the gates of the apartment block. It was a weekday after all. Everyone would have already been at work. Jean, Kain and Riza were looking around for anything suspicious, taking note of their surroundings. Once they reached Micha's apartment door, the two boys ran up to Daniel's sides, waiting for him to open the door. After he finished unlocking the door, he pushed it open. He took a step inside and the two little boys hurried into the apartment after him.

They saw their sister, holding a tray of no-bake cheesecake bites by the kitchen. A red apron was slung in front of outfit—a blue sweater, dark colored jeans, and fuzzy colored socks. Seeing her felt so surreal. She looked like how she used to in the kitchen of their mansion, baking her brother sweets to reward them after a long day in school. But she also looked different. She was skinnier, and her eyes had dark circles under them; hair was also slightly longer.

Micha looked unaware that they had arrived. "Sister," Alphonse called to her quietly. Her dark eyes widened. She placed the tray down on the counter and looked at them. Her dark eyes were threatening to spill with tears. Not even bothering to remove his shoes, Alphonse ran and flung himself to his sister. His arms were wide open, tears already falling down his chubby cheeks. "Sister!" He cried as he clung on to her, afraid that she would disappear again. She hugged him back fiercely. Her tears followed through, and spilled down her face freely.

All the adults were now inside her apartment, with the door locked behind. Jean and Kain watched her, hugging her younger brother. They both so desperately wanted to hug her too, but contained themselves. They would have their turn.

Riza watched Alphonse and Micha, kneeling on the floor, clinging on to each other. She felt something tug at her heart. A warm feeling blossoming from her core. However, this picture was not complete. Her burgundy eyes shifted to Edward, who was standing four feet away from his siblings. She smirked. His little hands were firmly at his sides. He was shaking. He looked down on the floor, hands and teeth clenched.

Micha looked up to see Edward. His golden eyes were ablaze with fury, but his true emotion was betrayed by the tears that fell down his cheeks. Not letting go Alphonse, she opened her other arm, beckoning him to come to her. Edward made a choking sound. His pride wanted him to stay put. His pride was shouting at him to yell at his sister. To scold her for being so reckless. To get angry at her for being a coward and leaving. But ultimately, to express how lonely he had been, and missed her dearly.

As if answering his thoughts, Micha called to him in a shaky voice, "I missed you too, Ed." She smiled, still holding her arm out to him. His tears rolled down uncontrollably. Swallowing all of his pride down, he ran to her, and wrapped his arms around her neck. Hugging her tightly. To hell with his pride. This was his sister. Being with her mattered more than anything. She buried her nose into his golden hair, and tightened her hug even more.

Finally.

She was reunited with her brothers.

A/N:

Finally got back to writing! Woohoo!

I cannot even begin to explain how many drafts I have written, scrapped, and started on again and again for this chapter. Only to finally finish this version in less than two hours.

Thank you to everyone who continued to review, read, wait, and support this story. Seeing that people still message and wait for the update really pushed me to update.

I've recently been back into writing mode, and I have a number of ideas brewing in my head. They're mostly for Naruto, though. Any fans here? Hehe.

I would want to hear what you guys think of this story so far, and write me suggestions and things you want to see Micha and the boys do. I have a few fun ideas in my head, as the next chapters will be cute and light hearted, mostly focusing on Micha's relationship with her brothers.

If the time is confusing you, I apologize. In this story, the town where Micha's staying at has a different time zone. Being a few hours ahead of Central Amestris (where Roy and Maes are at). Leave me a message if you have any more questions.

Again, thank you for reading and supporting. Leave me a review, please! :)
