A/N: Hello once again my dear readers~! This time I'm doing an art trade with Ariesoura3103 from Deviantart for the art trade event in our deviant group. Beyond the Palace Walls are still in the editing process but I can confirm that the prologue and chapter 1 have been edited. I might add few more scenes or chapters to make the story progress well. To my fanfiction readers, Beyond the Palace Walls is another fanfic I'm currently writing in DA however it won't be published in fanfiction.

Anyway, let's get on with the new year art trade. I still have ASEAN Way that needs an update and here I am sneezing like crazy thanks to the crazy weather. Sorry I couldn't finish, I was out with my mom and her friend for quite a long time. Another reason is I was watching anime as well.

Disclaimer: I do not own Hetalia nor the characters in it. Hetalia belongs to Himaruya-sensei.

Warnings: Mention of the election, nothing much, just the word. Add in some not so good writing, info that I just randomly put in.

Lights

Action!

The lights on the stage were switched on as a pair of two loveable personifications of Malaysia waltz their way to the stage followed by cheers, claps, squeals and whistles. The two loveable personifications are wearing their traditional clothes with matching colour tone.

"Se~lamat kembali once again tuan-tuan and beautiful young ladies~!" Male Malaysia greeted in his most coolest voice, waving his hand at the audience.

In the audience, some people can be seen holding the Malaysian flag while some chose to wear the official Malaysian football jersey or any clothes relating to Malaysia. After all, it's a show hosted by Malaysia-sama~.

Female Malaysia: Terima kasih everyone for your ultimate support of Fun dengan Malaysia and The ASEAN Way~. Although it is not updated in a long time due to some issues the author faced throughout the year and also the country's issues that weaken the economy.

Singapore: Just one question, why are we doing it like this?

Male Malaysia: Ah, this? To save time for the author. This is the best way she can convey what we're going to say. Time is short, this author is running out of ideas since she's too hooked on other anime.

Female Malaysia: *nod nod* Yup, hopefully by writing this she can get some ideas.

Male Malaysia: Anyway~~~~

Male and Female Malaysia: MULA!

60

Dial Code

60. What does 60 stands for? In Malaysia, it is the dial code. You know, if you call a friend or family at another country with your phone? You can see those +60 stuff? Yeah, that's it, that's the dial code in Malaysia.

How do you dial it? Let KL-sama show you how.

KL showed the audience a smartphone. Wait, not just an ordinary smartphone, it's-

"Hey KL, that's my brand new Iphone 6S! How did you even get your hands on it?!" New York exclaimed from the audience, pointing an accusing finger at KL, who simply pretend he didn't see or hear anything at all.

KL swiftly type something on it, presumably New York's password for his phone before dialing +60. "This is how you do it. If your number, 016 etc, just dial it like this +6016 (for 016) or +6018 (for 018), no need another 0, just dial it and..."

In a few moments, there was ringing until someone picked up.

"Oi, Kuala Lumpur, apa yang kau buat di situ?" an angry voice answer. KL paled. Oops, he forgot to pick Terengganu up right after he accidentally send her car for repairs the other day.

After a minute of silence, KL hung up and dashed out of the stage. Not waiting for another minute just to be with the audience or in the show. As much as he wants to stay longer, Terengganu's arrival is top priority.

The year 1960 is also the year that the first Yang di-Pertuan Agong passed away however those moments were soon forgotten/buried deep in the hearts of Malaysians. Later that year, the hibiscus become the national flower of Malaya now currently known as Malaysia also on this year followed by the official end of the Malayan Emergency.

Malaya and the states went out to celebrate with the people once the news of the end of the Malayan Emergency reaches them. For the first time in a long time, they felt free, truly free. The fears that haunt the nation for a long time finally ends.

59-58-57

August 31, 1957 marks the independence of Malaya. Many nations came to congratulate her while bringing gifts on her independence day. The one who didn't take it too well was England. Even though he congratulate her but something inside hurts, Malaya can tell. She maybe young but she isn't stupid. She wanted to open her mouth and talk but words aren't coming out. It's frustrating.

"May happiness be with you, Malaya." England said, waving an arm with his back facing Malaya as he walked towards his ride. The sight of the nation that invaded her, bidding goodbye at her as he walked. The sunset as the background to this farewell.

1958...Malaya remembered, India and his leader visit her. The Indian nation literally shower her with lots of stuff he could bring from his homeland and new recipes or food for her to try. Anything to beat that rival of his in the East. When will they stopped considering each other as rivals...well, no one knows nor anyone cares.

1959...the first general election. Everyone is still new to this election, even Malaya herself. But her people and herself knew who to choose for their leader.

56-55-54

1956, Malaya joins the Olympics for the first time. With the help of big brother Australia, she manages to get some things right or at least know the basics. She who has yet achieved her independence, well that'll be soon. It's set.

55. 55 more minutes to go or rather 55 minutes have passed and this author has yet to write anything down for 55 with the exception of this sentence.

Male Malaysia: EHHH? I HAVEN'T GOT MY APPEARANCE IN THIS!

Author: Your turn not yet! Wait a bit and I'll think of something where I can push you in.

The number 54 ...Google search only got route 54...

Male Malaysia: I haven't made my appearance and you can't even write that much?

Author: Oi, watch it. I can remove you permanently from this fanfic you know. Moreover, I can't think much that goes well with this.

Male Malaysia: Then why can't you just write 16? It's 2016.

Author: I want to try 60 and I have no time to correct this.

53-52-51

53 seconds? Hmm...Malaysians would still be watching the countdown along with many around the country. The end of the old year and the beginning of a brand new year. Let's end the chapter of 2015 and start writing our 2016 chapter. Come, let's forget the past and enjoy the fresh future.

Male Malaysia: So much had happened...I can't believe it's December 31st already...

As Malaysia, the nation would be 52 years old! 52 years ago, Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore joined the Federation of Malaya to become Malaysia. The good old times he can never forget. How he gain extra siblings and also more opportunities to hang out with Singa if not to tease her. But looking back, those times, his people were united...now...he couldn't even tell. The more people try to unite, there will be fools who will split everyone apart just to stay in power.

He laughed. Fools who sinned so much can't be dragged there yet huh...

Male Malaysia: Yay~, I'm in~

Number 51 of Male Malaysia's bucket list is...

"SELFIE WHILE BUNGEE JUMP FROM KLCC!" Male Malaysia yelled as he jump, letting the wind blow against his face. Some people turned pale at the sight of him jumping. It seems fun until someone reeled him back. That someone is Singapore.

50

Singapore's age. 50 years...since that day. The separation of Singapore from Malaysia. The reason is very much unclear, but what's clear were the tear stained faces of two nations. A scene carved into their memory. It cannot be help but it hurts that they cannot be together. As nations they can't be together...

Must it be this way? For them to be torn apart? But it cannot be help. Their people wanted this separation. Why can't they live with one another?

On August 9, 1965, Singapore split from Malaysia and become independent. The two mourn over their broken relationship for a while before they started getting together again. None opposes their relationship. After all, no matter how you break their bond, it'll reconnect itself, stronger than ever.

49-48-47

On the 49th day before the New Year, he learns how to play the tune. It's simple and nice Malaysia thought. As his sister sat beside him on the piano chair, Malaysia started playing that nice tune on the piano. It isn't much but the two of them enjoyed each other company despite the teasing and bickering. How nice it is to be like this without any worries or interruptions.

"You improve your piano skills." Singapore said, leaning her head on her brother's shoulder.

Malaysia lets out a laugh "Singa, it's not that I improve, it's my piano skills that gone rusty after a long time of never touching that piano and I just recently gone back to playing."

They did the same on the 48th and 47th.

"I wish we could be together like this. Like old times." Singapore murmured softly before closing her eyes.

"We will, Singa. I promised."

46-45-44

Reading the 46th page of the novel, she moves her attention to the time on her wristwatch. 45 minutes to go until the countdown...she looks up from her novel and on the people sitting around here, locals and foreigners, young and old, waiting for the fireworks display.

Although it's crowded, these people didn't seem to mind. Some grabbed what they thought was the perfect spot to watch the fireworks display or at least catch it on camera or their smartphones.

The time on her wristwatch changes to 23:44 while she mused of the human beings around her.

43-42-41

KL checks the time on the large clock tower, he cursed under his breath. Time is ticking! From 43 minutes to 41 minutes! He has been wasting time just by thinking and arranging! Damn it, with this kind of traffic, getting through would be super tough and it ain't no joke.

"Oi KL, hurry up! It's almost time!" Malacca yelled, stuffing some stuff into the car trunk with Sarawak and Kelantan helping with the fitting and pushing.

"Yeah! Coming!"

When England introduces the one cent coin to Malaya and the states in 1840, they simply stare, creating an awkward atmosphere for England. In their minds, they were asking 'what are we suppose to do with one cent coin?', although the younger states are staring at the coin, looking kind of unique.

"Instead of me giving you full amount of your allowance, you can learn by saving one cent coins. You can learn the importance of money by doing this." England explained.

Kedah raised his hand "Then, what about our food? We need money to buy some vegetables and meat to cook our food."

England smiled reassuringly "Do not worry, I can cook your meals."

The colour drained from the faces of Malaya and the states. England? Cook? For their meals? Every...

"We're done for..." Pahang muttered under her breath with Perak and Sarawak crying in the background while hugging each other.

A/N: Part 1 done, there's still two more parts. Just today I got stuck with a sneezing frenzy and right now as I type this, running nose is now becoming an obstacle for me to even type without wiping your nose every minute. I'll try to complete two parts or one, hopefully by next week before classes start (I wish for longer holiday now).
