A/N: Selamat Hari Merdeka guys~ and happy birthday Malaysia~! A fanfic written for Malaysia's birthday.
Hari Jadi
…
Malaysia woke up to the sound of the heavy rain pouring on the roof like bullets. She pushed herself out of bed, rubbing her eyes at the same time to get rid of the dirt in her eyes.
As her vision started adjusting to its surroundings, Malaysia notices a baju kurung in a royal shade of blue hanging at her closet with some golden flower prints on it.
'Why is there a baju kurung hanging there?' She wondered. 'Moreover, a royal shade of blue as well…'
Then she shrugged it off thinking that maybe her siblings must have taken it out for her. She pushed off her blankets and walked to the bathroom for her bath.
-Line Break-
"So we do this!"
"No! Cannot lah! So lame! Bigger the better mah!"
"Aiyoh why so fussy one? If you leave it to me I can-"
"SHH! Be quiet or she'll hear stupid!"
"Why are we even arguing about this?"
"No idea…"
"What are you guys doing?"
Everyone as in Pahang, KL, Penang, Putrajaya, Labuan and Kedah spun around to face the young nation standing there already dressed in her baju kurung while drying her hair. Her eyes are on them.
"We're discussing." KL swiftly replied, hoping he could pull it off.
"About?"
"Stuff." Labuan jumped in.
"What kind of stuff?"
"Private H stuff." Penang finished, her eyes showing a dangerous glint much to the horror of her brothers.
The expression on Malaysia's face changes into a sly one with a small smirk. "I see, don't let me bother you there~. I'm gonna go out for breakfast with Taiwan~."
As Malaysia left the room, the male states gave Penang looks, glares and everything they can throw at their sister for even bringing up the 'H' stuff. Penang simply rolled her eyes and scoffed. "Fools, I just sent her away. Be thankful."
The guys couldn't argue with that. Malaysia did leave the house giving them more time to prepare. In case you're wondering, what are they preparing for, well, KL is about to reveal to you.
"Well then, operation M.A.L.A.Y.S.I.A shall begin now!" KL announced. Time for battle!
…
Phase One: Breakfast
Code Name: Nasi Kandar
Lead of Operation: Taiwan, Philippines, Timor Leste
…
After a phone call from Malaysia saying that she is getting closer to the hotel they're staying and that they should hurry down. Philippines gave a thumb up to Taiwan who in turn returns it back. They were informed of this plan by the states and without much thought, they agree to help even if it means taking a couple days off from nation work.
"Okay, here's the plan." Taiwan turned to the two South East Asian nations, making sure the two of them have their attention on her. "We'll get her to eat some Nasi Kandar until Hungary is ready at the next checkpoint."
"Then, it's our time to shine~." Philippines chirped happily with Timor nodded enthusiastically beside her.
…
Malaysia glanced at the time display in her car, it was around 9:20 a.m., although the worst traffic rush had come to past, there are still some (if not a lot) cars on the road.
While waiting for her friends, she decides to check some interesting stuff in her social media feeds. Tapping on the FB icon on her smartphone, she was instantly brought to the latest news, updates and others shown in her FB.
As she scroll down her feed, a post caught her attention but before she could check it, a few taps on her car window divert her attention away from the post and to the mirror. Philippines waved at her as Malaysia waved back before unlocking the door so the girls can come inside the car.
Philippines went in first then Timor, being the smallest among the three of them and then Taiwan who closed the door right after she adjusted herself on the seat.
"So where to for breakfast?" Malaysia asked.
The three nations at the back share a glance and a grin, they know their designated destination for their breakfast.
"The best Nasi Kandar restaurant you can find!" Timor answered with a smile.
…
A text from Philippines is all they need to know that their plan is going along decently. With some persuasion, they manage to get some nations to help with the birthday plan.
It wasn't anything fancy like America's or those popular countries but it's not too simple either, The aim of this birthday plan…is to restore hope for Malaysia that a brighter future is possible without those conflicts or anything of that sorts. Moreover, it also marks the day of her independence from England, not that the said nation would like to be reminded of that.
"How're the preparations going on?" KL asked, being in charge of this plan and head of the operations. The capital, surprisingly, showed a mature and responsible side when the situation calls for it. For him to came up with this plan…even the states were surprised.
Labuan, who just happened to walk in while carrying a huge potted plant with Kuching helping him on the other side, gave his reply.
"Everything is going fine KL!"
"Excellent~" KL chuckled evilly. "Keep up the good work guys! I'm just gonna sit over there and rest."
KL walked over to the fridge and took out a can of cola. He grinned as he opened the can, drinking it all before lying down on the couch. He closed his eyes and smiled. He can finally r-
A bucket of water landed on his face, prompting KL to sit up abruptly, blowing his nose due to the water entering and trying to find out the perpetrator but stopped upon seeing the angry glares of his siblings standing before him.
"Who says you can rest?" Miri asked sinisterly.
"Yes Bang, we are working so hard here. Why are you sleeping when we barely have enough time and helping hands to do the job~?" Labuan joined in.
KL smiled nervously as he tried to calm his siblings. "Relaks lah, I was just joking haha."
The other states/territories glanced at each other before turning back to KL with a crazed grin. The capital sweat dropped and gulped. This can't be good…he better hope he can still stand after that.
"Don't worry~, we'll make it less painful as possible~" Labuan gave a sinister grin which frightens KL even more.
You know what, he better pray hard that he can still stand! Or at least move!

Phase 2A: Shopping for Clothes
Code Name: N/A
Lead of Operation: Hungary
...
Hungary waited at the entrance of the shopping mall for Taiwan's team to come with Malaysia. They need their birthday girl to look her best after all!
"Elizabeta!" Hungary was confused at first with Taiwan calling her human name but…she realize that she's in a public area. Nations are to call each other their human names in public, never their nation names.
Hungary waved at Taiwan and the others, greeting them happily. "Hey girls! Nice seeing you again! So what's our plan today?"
"Clothes." Taiwan said, pulling out a fancy credit card that somehow looks like it belongs to a certain capital but Malaysia simply shrugged that thought off.
Hungary nodded. "Well, let's not waste our time! Let's go!"
"Wait!" Malaysia stopped them. "Are you guys going somewhere?" she asked.
"Umm…" Philippines trailed off, looking at Taiwan and Hungary then at Timor beside her. She did not want to expose their plans but…Malaysia might get suspicious so…
"Yeah, just to some fancy restaurant." Philippines lied, a terrible one, yes but what else can she say?
Malaysia looked at the tropical nation, doubting that's the real reason for shopping some clothes. However, before she could question any further, Hungary intervened. "It's for a night out with the girls. It'll be shameful if we wear old fancy clothes. We do need to look our best."
The younger nation somehow accepted the reason and the others almost sighed in relief that she didn't push the topic any further. Timor Leste takes Malaysia by her hand and says, "Let's head further inside! Maybe we can find some fancy clothes for ourselves!"
Malaysia gave a nod and followed the girls into one of her large shopping malls, with a thought that it would be nice to hang out with the female nations to do some girls stuff, not really knowing the knowing glance the other female nations kept sharing with each other.
…
Meanwhile, Singapore is stuck with Brunei, Hong Kong, Korea and Thailand in rehearsing for something. He should be going out to buy a present (not that he knows what kind of present to get) instead of rehearsing a song!
"Oh come on Singapore, it's important!" Korea stressed much to Singapore's irritation in not wanting to rehearse. The Singaporean just want to buy a present not rehearse a song yet why are they so firm on this?
Singapore felt his eyebrow twitched in irritation as he questioned the Korean. "Just which part of this is important!? Look, I need to get a present for Malaysia and I don't have time for this!"
"You'll find out later." Hong Kong said. "After all, it's all part of the plan."
"What plan?"
Brunei decides that this is the time to intervene, explaining slightly about the so called plan they are involved in. Well, not in full details. If Singapore finds out…it will be tougher to explain to the Singaporean.
"Everyone is pretty busy and we need someone to fill in the gap! Singapore, you're our only hope in pulling this off!" Korea pleaded, putting his hands together, hoping to convince the Singaporean to just go along with this plan. "Besides, Thailand is staying firm in singing the other songs! At least sing this song Singapore!"
"Ana~, it could be fun~." Thailand added with Brunei nodded in agreement. "True, just accept this as part of your present to Malaysia."
Singapore reluctantly accepted it after seeing the pleading looks the guys are giving. How they manage to pull it off so well? Oh wait, they had training with a country called China when it comes to this.
"I do have one question though." Singapore spoke up. "Why is my song…of all the songs…must be this romantic one?"
The grins on their faces did gave Singapore some sort of answer in a way and Singapore glared at them in return, not pleased with the answer he gets.
…
While some of the states and territories are in charge of the decorations, some of them split to do the cooking and they managed to drag some nations to help. Penang and Malacca, once again are in charge of the cooking with Kelantan as the inspector for halal food.
The nations involved are China and India; the two super old nations have some conflicts with each other in the past involving cute little nations, siblings and others.
The cuisine must be Malaysian and halal. The two old nations see this as a challenge to get their cute little sister to be closer to them. Somehow, their possessiveness are scary to the point Penang and Malacca are searching for some stuff to put out their possessiveness.
"My cute little sister will love me back…" they keep on repeating, earning looks from the states and territories and maybe some animals that just happened to pass by.
"Should we knock them out?" Penang asked Malacca.
"How can, unless you want to cook." Malacca answered, watching the two centuries old nations kept on imagining their cute lil sister and her happy smile.
"No lah, I mean later. They're creeping me out."
"Why bother knocking them out? Just report them as pedophiles or perverts and they'll be out of the way in no time." Malacca said.
Penang nodded in agreement. "Yeah better do that."

Phase 2B: Clothes Shopping
Code Name: Traditional
Lead of Operation: Hungary, Indonesia, Pervy France
…
To say she was surprise is an underestimation. After all, she never expected a certain Indonesian and perverted Frenchman standing in front of a store, somehow working together on this.
Her suspicions have increased when Hungary and the others are acting strangely a little like whispering behind her back, exchange glances and some hand signals.
"What's wrong Malaysia?" Timor asked worriedly, still holding onto her hand.
Malaysia shook her head in reply. "It's nothing Timor, just remembering the good old times."
Before Timor could question her any further, an exclamation snapped her attention towards France and Indonesia. Never know those two are quite close…
"Here we are!" Both France and Indonesia exclaimed upon arriving at the front of a-
"Huh? Why are we in front of a…" Philippines trailed off, confused at the sight before her since the shop was not a clothes shop but…a shop that sell cloths, materials to make clothes and others.
"Silly girl! The clothes displayed at shops are not good enough!" France said distastefully. "One should utilize these materials to make a lovely dress for a mademoiselle instead of wearing ready to wear types!"
"I see! With just those materials, one can design the dress in any way he or she wants!" Philippines exclaimed excitedly, eyes shining in admiration towards the French nation.
"But, how do we create some clothes in a short amount of time?" Hungary asked.
France chuckled. "Hungary, you shouldn't be underestimating the Country of Love if he can't make a fancy dress within a short amount of time~. Now, shop all of the fancy materials you can find here~!"
…
Phase 3: Transport
Code Name: Traffic Efficiency
Lead of Operation: Johor, Japan
…
Johor slumped against the couch in his house after working tirelessly for a grand birthday party for his sister. He smiled at the thought at his younger sister's happy smiling face…like those good old times, even when technology are not that advance. His boss, the Sultan, has graciously given him a couple of days off and asking him to send his wishes to Malaysia as well.
However, out of all the stuff he could handle, why must he be in charge of transportation? Sure, he is close to Singapore and may have gotten some transportation tips from the nation himself but doing it is a different case!
"Have some tea Johor-san, it would help calm the nerves." Japan said, placing a tray of teacups on the table next to the couch Johor is lying on.
"Oh thank you, I think I need some." Johor got up from the couch and blow the tea to cool it before taking a small sip to check the temperature.
Fortunately for Johor, KL had arranged an expert to help him on this case. This made Johor rethink on how he will get KL to pay for this.
"Having you in the team saves me a lot there Jepun." Johor said gratefully. At least he will know who will take whose transport. There are thirteen of them with ten of them have their own cars/transport. Picking some of them from the airport then to their hotel…
"If I could be of help then I am glad. It is my pleasure to help with Malaysia-san's birthday party." Japan said, taking a sip of his tea after that. "She has done so much and I would be happy to return the favor by throwing her a surprise party."
Japan does have a point there, Johor mused. From cars to electronics to anime and manga, Malaysia has indeed contributed a lot and as much as Johor don't like to even think about it is that his sister is shipping guys. Maybe that's where Singapore and him had in common after all.
"I'm thankful as well for your help." Johor grinned, scratching his head. "I might have screw up and then march over to give KL a piece of my mind for giving me this." Then, a thought pops into his head. Now that he thought about it…
"Out of curiosity, how do you get the others to find them?" Johor asked.
Japan gave a small smile and answered. "Hatsune Miku figurines."
…
Phase 4: Birthday Cake
Lead of Operation: Austria, Germany and Paris
…
Austria may look like he couldn't cook to save his life but when it comes to baking desserts, he can be called a pro. However, Germany is always the one doing the clean up.
The cake of course must be big enough to feed a couple of nations or at least enough to fill the countless gluttons in the party.
"Why don't we try baking some multilayer cakes? It's better than baking one cake to feed hungry nations." Paris suggested. The capital was trusted by France to do the job well while he was off for shopping or fashion or whatever he's off to.
Germany nodded. "That is a very good idea. However, do we have enough ovens to bake them? Moreover, we do not have enough time. Do you have a solution to this problem?"
Paris grinned. "For that, Mr. Germany, it is very easy. The cake comes last, right? Before the cake even arrived, everyone will be too full to even take a slice of cake or at least the normal ones."
Austria's eyes widen slightly. "I see! If it is like that, most will be full…"
"If that's the case, we'll cook enough to feed plenty of hungry stomachs! Especially those with large appetites!" Germany nodded, finally coming up with a good solution. This is better than the World Meeting!
"Moreover, I ordered plenty of supplies using France's name!" Paris said.
He doesn't have a comment for that…

Phase 5: Surprise
Code Name: Malaysia
Lead of Operation: Everyone
…
Malaysia does indeed look her best with her slightly wavy hair hanging over her shoulder with a beautiful red hibiscus attached to her hair. Indonesia and Philippines were quite excited in doing her makeup. With a small blush on both cheeks and a baby pink lipstick applied along with a faint eye shadow and eyeliner.
Philippines and Hungary have volunteered in taking her back while the others went off (obviously to help out the others and hide). Their suspicious actions did not go unnoticed but she did not question it either.
The first thing she noticed upon arriving at her house was the ribbon that was hanging around the area. She was indeed curious about the ribbon but her attention on the ribbon was cut off when she was pushed inside.
Malaysia was about to question the others' intentions when a spotlight shone on her and on a certain nation. Dressed in his best tuxedo was Singapore. His hair was combed back for once instead of his usual hairstyle. In his hand was a microphone. Then, the music started playing. A very familiar tune surprises her.
"Wise men say" Singapore started. "Only fools rush in."
Then he looked at Malaysia straight in the eye, trying his best to fight the blush on his face. "But I can't help…falling in love with you."
"Johnathan…" the name escaped her pink lips.
Singapore walked over to Malaysia, taking her hand into his. "Shall I stay? Would it be a sin?"
He leaned a little closer to Malaysia, causing the other to blush hard. Singapore wondered if that's the real one or just the blush from the makeup.
"If I can't help…falling in love with you." Singapore sang the last few words slowly. Then he wrapped his arms around her and said softly "Happy Birthday Malaysia and Happy Birthday to you too, Maya Salena."
Malaysia blinked. "Wha-"
Suddenly, she was cut off by a loud "SURPRISE!"
Startled and surprised, Malaysia took in the scene before her. Most of the nations, the states, are here for her birthday. Then, the suspicious actions earlier…
"Don't tell me you're forgot your own birthday."
"No…I just thought…no one would bother to remember it or even celebrate it." Malaysia said, trying to hold back her tears.
"Who says so?" Australia asked. "You're precious to us. Even if you are not Malaysia, you are still Maya Salena, our sister and partner in crime."
New Zealand nodded beside him.
England cleared his throat to gain Malaysia's attention. "Besides, no matter what the world think of you. You are still…important, not as a nation but as a family and friend."
Australia elbowed his brother while grinning. "Check out the blush Zea."
"Really, he could have said better words."
"Shut it both of you!"
"As much as I hate to admit it but I agree with Eyebrows here aru." China said, not liking the fact he agreed with his enemy/rival. "You are just an innocent young girl getting caught up in a crazy mess made by your own people. You deserve none of those!"
"Yeah Maya!" South Korea agreed, using Malaysia's human name for once. "You are still you! Malaysia is a nation but it is never the nation's fault for whatever the people do!"
"Ja, you are already awesome! Only the less awesome ever tried to bring down the awesome!" Prussia added, popping out from behind the couch.
"The Merdeka and Malaysia Day stuff? Celebrate both of course! Without any of those, we won't be here!" KL said.
"Ignore those idiots Kak. They're just stirring troubles without even thinking of the consequences." Malacca added from beside KL.
"That is why, we came up with this plan." KL said. "To throw you a fantastic celebration you will never forget. The reason is…you're important to us no matter what you are or what the idiots call or do to you."
"We just have one thing to say." Penang turned to the others behind her and gave a nod.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY MALAYSIA! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAYA!" everyone greeted.
A tear trailed down Malaysia's cheek, ruining the makeup slightly as she gave everyone a large happy smile that could send those gloomy rainclouds away. "TERIMA KASIH! THANK YOU!"
2:27 am…I need to sleep. Just for completing this chapter I stayed up quite late...
Sorry it took so long. I was busy or lazying around participating in guild events in the game otogi and as well as fulfilling my fujoshi with tons of BL manga. I managed to read quite a lot.
Authors like Takarai Rihito (Ten Count) are nice to read, I recommend one of the manga starting with Hana (I forgot the full name), it's quite nice. However, Kakine's ones, I would recommend all of them since they're really nice to read. Moreover, she's a Gemini like me~ and guess what, Gintama's mangaka, Sorachi Hideaki is also a Gemini! It's cool since our birthdays are few days apart lol, his is May 25 while I'm May 30. Well, that's all from me! I'll work on ASEAN next, hopefully before September 13 (my class start there instead of 5 September).
