A/N: I know it's been ages since my last update and I may or may not have the motivation to continue Fun Dengan Malaysia but…a latest review made me recall how much effort I put in to write, whether crappy or not as long as my fellow Malaysian readers enjoy reading it I could care less.

However as my college life begins to demand more attention and other fandom begins to drive me crazy, I stopped writing for a long while. Thus, after reading this latest review, I got an idea after a thought about Japan's Crown Princess which eventually leads to this idea.

P/S: If fanfiction goes crazy again, I am so moving this story elsewhere.

Warnings: mentions of WWII

Characters: Malaysia, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, England (cameo)

-60 years of friendship-

As Japan steps out of the plane with his prince, his eyes fell on the Malaysian authorities and maybe some photographers awaiting their arrival at the airport. It's his prince's first official visit since he was named the heir to the Chrysanthemum throne. Eventually after looking around, he saw the young nation, his ex-colony and perhaps another sister figure to him, standing tall, not far from her leader.

Dressed in her golden kebaya which she uses only for formal occasions, she watches the older nation comes down from the plane. The weather being fine for the two of them. As time goes on, both of them thought about this 60 years of friendship. How much they have gone through during these 60 years…

As they thought about it, some of the unwanted memories begin to float in their minds. The cruelty of the war had left on terrible scar on both of them. The war was very much unwanted but the greediness of the Japanese Emperor of that time is unavoidable.

The war ended with undesirable results, it is to be expected after all…it is war…sacrifices are needed in this case. She had seen the remains of the aftermath of this terrible war. It makes her stomach turn just thinking about it again…especially when he had surrendered that day…

She remembered it well when she stood next to her people. The nation who used to stand on top…is no longer on top. The war had shown a clear winner…but with too many sacrifices yet they have no choice. Rather, there wasn't a choice to begin with…

He once stood tall and proud, blinded by his loyalty to the Emperor, he had failed to see the destruction he caused on many. After being stripped of everything he once possessed, he saw no hope for himself in the future. Only regrets and shame. He had attempted to end his life once and for all however such a selfish act could only bring more trouble to his own people.

He had nightmares about his sins. Only to wake up with memories of gentle hands comforting him along with the tears that came with them. The warmth from those hands…he remembered them. The owner of those hands, he remembered, came not from any nation nor human he knew but from someone he knew so well, accompanied by the tears.

Now, with encouragement and help from his friends and family, he stood once again. Not what he was before but as a nation that everyone love and care for. Although the cruelty of the war was not lost on them, he tried to make amends.

As he walked towards the young nation in his formal black suit, his mind brought him to the day that will soon marked the beginning of a rekindle yet long-lasting friendship.

….

On 31 August 1957, Malaysia was still known as Malaya then and the young nation has finally achieved her independence from England. When Japan had arrived, the tense atmosphere was not forgotten. She can still recall the trauma inflicted on her and her siblings when they were under him. Even England, who was also there, is suddenly on guard.

Thailand, that lucky guy, was never colonised thus it was easy for him to go and approach him with his usual friendly smile. He left them baffled but Thailand, with a smile, said that time "What he has done in the past should be left in the past. Right now, we should all start over from here."

He took Japan's hand and Malaya's hand, despite Indonesia's protests, and joined them in a handshake. Both nations looked at the Thai nation who had given an encouraging smile to them then back at each other.

For a brief moment, no one knows what to say. True, the past should left forgotten however, the scars remained has yet to fade. Is this friendship possible?

Suddenly, Japan broke the silence, surprising the nearby nations.

"I am Japan. Formally known as Nippon-koku or Nihon-koku, it is a pleasure to meet you. Congratulations on achieving your independence, Malaya-san." Japan introduced himself to the young, if not slightly chubby nation before him.

Malaya took a deep breath before introducing herself to the older nation. "Thank you, Japan. I am Malaya, formally known as the Federation of Malaya. It is a pleasure to meet you as well, Japan. Please, have a seat and enjoy the meal."

…..

Now, standing face to face with each other. Times have changed. The once slightly youthful nation has slimmed down slightly over the years, losing most of the child-like appeal she once has, growing into a nation whose beauty went unheard to many compared to other island nations.

"It has been a while, Malaysia-san." Japan said with a small smile but not before a formal bow.

The other returned the same smile, offering her hand for a handshake. "Indeed it has. 60 years has passed since then."

Japan gladly takes her hand for a firm handshake. "Hai, I will be looking forward for your adventurous ideas."

A small but cheeky smile made its way across Malaysia's face. "I will be happy to entertain you in them as well."

At the unseen background, Thailand sighed in satisfaction as he removed the binoculars from his eyes. The strengthened friendship between the two nations still remained strong as ever. Yup, he is absolutely right in making this choice.

Slowly, he turned around to leave the scene but not before suffering a large blow to his head by a durian. Thailand is positive that his death would definitely be caused by murder.

Malaysia fumingly stomped over to the seemingly motionless Thai, who's also bleeding from his head and a slightly panicking Japan behind her, trying to digest whatever is happening in front of him.

Without a care in the world, Malaysia grabbed Thailand by his collar and glared at him murderously. "Stop trying to alter the history to make you the hero damn it! You wanna die ah?"

"Ana…I was only trying to make the story sound better…"

"SOUND BETTER MY FOOT! WHAT ARE YOU, THAT FAMOUS PUPPETEER FROM THAT NOTRE DAME MOVIE!? OR THAT CANDLESTICK GUY OR THAT TEA POT LADY FROM-OH WHAT THE READERS WOULD SAY IF THEY USE THIS AS A REFERENCE!"

"Ana…you're breaking the fourth wall…"

"OH SHUT UP YOU! I'M THE MAIN CHARACTER HERE, STOP TRYING TO STEAL MY SCREENING TIME! GO BACK TO THE AUTHOR'S THE ASEAN WAY IF YOU'RE THAT DESPERATE!"

"B-But weren't we married before ana? You were my darling waifu ana~"

"THAT WAS BEFORE AND I NEVER AGREE TO THIS! AND NO ONE BOTHERS TO READ SEJARAH NOW! YOU GO ASK STUDENTS NOWADAYS AND THEY PREFER TO WATCH K-DRAMAS INSTEAD!"

Meanwhile, Japan who was left alone with his thoughts could only wonder if he should intervened before the Thai nation could be finished off. Nevertheless, the past is in the past, no matter how much you are trying to change it.

As the gentle breeze blew past, Japan wondered what will become of him if the world still couldn't forgive him for his crimes. He knew there are some who couldn't move on but still…

"Bang Jepun" Japan snapped out of his thoughts, turning to the young Malaysian, who looked pretty calm despite that somehow mosaic crime scene behind her. "Let's get your stuff to my place first then I'll take you out for lunch, Thailand's treating.

A/N: Finished! At long last, although my finals are coming up but after checking my mail, a review reminded me of the times I used to write fanfics like crazy. Combining the crazy gags I managed to think of if not borrowed.

And…if you managed to guess the person mentioned in Japan's memories then you get a cookie! Oh a free nasi lemak better!

Here's a hint, she has always been part of Japan since a long time and is very famous. She is considered as someone very important by the Japanese people. Neither nation nor human. I think if you watched enough anime or games, you might get an idea of who she is.

Here's another helpful hint, Shinto religion considered her as the mother of all gods and goddesses.
