"Hello, my name is Jeremiah. Dr. Jeremiah Arkham."

She nodded as he extended his arm out, shaking her hand before she sat down in the chair in front of him.

"I understand you have a very good resume. Your application checked out just fine."

Ariel nodded again, too nervous to speak unless questioned.

"So your name is Ariel Green?"

"Yes sir."

He smiled. "I understand you want to be a guard here."

"Yes."

"We could use more guards, better safe then sorry when it comes to these inmates."

"Yes, I imagine so."

"You seem very qualified for the job. You said you know how to use a gun."

"Yes, sir."

"I'm going to start you on a trial period. One week. If you do good then you get a full time job here, ok?"

"Yes, thank you. I promise I'll do good. I won't let you down."

He nodded again, smiling kindly. "I'm sure you won't let me down. Good luck. You start now."

"Now?" She asked incredulously.

He nodded, eyebrows raised. "Yes. Is that a problem?"

"No!-" She cleared her throat immediately. "-Uh, no. It's fine."

He nodded and got up. "Follow me. I'll get your uniform."

She obeyed, following him out of the door. They went into a small storage room where a small box lay, labeled with her full name.

"Here you are." He handed her the heavy box. She opened it, peering inside. In the box was her uniform, a gun, and other necessary things for the job. She went into the bathroom quickly to change, coming out a couple of minutes later, fully dressed and ready.

"Here. Let's put your other clothes in this box. I'll keep them in here till the end of the day. You can change and go home with your uniform. I expect you on time everyday."

"Of course." She nodded and smiled.

"You will guard the Intensive Treatment Wing."

"The Intensive Treatment!?" She gasped, mouth wide open.

"Yes." He nodded. "I want to see how you deal with the more dangerous inmates. Don't be nervous, they are locked up very securely. Plus there are other guards besides yourself everywhere you look. And-"

"I-I'm not nervous" She interrupted. "Just...excited."

He nodded, handing her a map of the Asylum, pointing her on her way to the right place. "Good luck."

She got there a lot faster then she thought she would. She couldn't help but think though, that this was gonna be awesome. Scary, sure. But awesome.
