(Decision A.)
Katerina made her decision and turned back around, stomping over to the edge of the water, her green heels click-clacking as she walked.
"No." She said sternly. "I'm not leaving, Waylon. And you know what? You can't do a damn fucking thing about it! I'm not going to fear you nor will I be afraid even if you threaten or succeed in killing me. I'm not going to treat you like an animal. And I'm definitely not going to abandon you like everyone else has."
His yellow eyes widened and he turned back around to face her just as she finished her sentence. What the hell is wrong with this damn woman!? Why was she so fucking different!?
But Kat continued, ignoring the fact that the large crocodile man was stomping closer. And also the fact that he didn't look very happy.
"I am not like those other people who cower before you and call you a freak. I may have called you one earlier but I didn't mean one bit of it. But this, this I do."
Katerina stopped walking, ending at the ledge and bent down, crouching as she looked Waylon in the eyes as if challenging him to make her leave...
Waylon didn't break that eye contact. Nor did he feel threatened by it. Not at all. Instead, he walked straight up to her, nose to nose, her bending down and him craning his neck upwards, both faces inches apart.
Kat opened her black painted lips to speak. Meaning every word. "No matter what you say or what you do to me. I'm here to stay."
Doubt flooded his mind and he sneered, his top lip curling upwards. "Is that so?" She nodded as the soft yet serious "Yes." left her plump lips. This caused him to stop. The genuine tone in her voice was something he did not expect. He flared his nostrils, analyzing her every move. Sniffing the air as he took in her stance and the hormones and other chemicals her body was producing, the smell dancing around her, filling his nose before it dissipated.
And what he found agitated him like nothing he'd ever experienced.
He couldn't tell if she was lying or not.
He'd have to test her. See if what she was saying was true. Her last sentence ran through his mind over and over again. Her voice ringing in his ears...
No matter what you say or what you do to me. I'm here to stay.
No matter what you say...
No matter what you do...
He thought about that as Katerina sat right down in front of him, still keeping eye contact as she crossed her arms defiantly.
He could tell she was serious. She wasn't leaving. Hell, she wasn't moving from that spot.
Unless he made her.
He lifted his large yellow eyes and she gasped.
Delighted he was finally able to instill a little fear into her, he rose up from the water, now at full height, and climbed up over the ledge that separated them.
She got up and walked backwards with every step Croc took towards her, but only ended up trapped between the stone wall and him.
He growled and sneered as he closed in the remainder of space that separated them. "No matter what I do, eh?"
