(Okay's it been awhile but the chapter's long and I'm finally getting some important issues resolved during this.)

Miami, Florida

Bela should have been happy, ecstatic even. She was sleeping in her own bed in her new apartment in a new state. Rather than getting her old apartment back, Bela took a much needed change of scenery and moved to the Sunshine State. All of her possessions in her old apartment were auctioned off after the rent wasn't paid on time but Bela did manage to find one thing she couldn't live without. One of Bela's neighbors had been taking care of Isis for her and now her feline friend joined her to start a new life. Selling off various supernatural items she stored away in case the rest of her fortunes were ever lost, Bela made enough money to get a condo in Downtown Miami. It wasn't as large as her apartment in Queens but it had a beautiful view of the ocean and city. A large pool on a deck with a nice bar was located on the eighteenth floor became Bela's new favorite hangout. Plenty of sun and relaxation. Finally she was living the life she always wanted. A life without the fear of Hell.

And yet, this so called happy life felt like hollow. Bela felt like she was sticking her head in the sand rather than living up the good life. How could she sit around while demons were trying to end the world? Bela never considered herself to be selfless, in fact she was the opposite. But the last thing she wanted was for the world to go to Hell just as she got back to it. Dean Winchester was right when he said she wasn't a hunter but she didn't need to run around killing demons and monsters, Bela would go back to what she was good at which was finding things. Only now instead of finding artifacts to sell, she was going to find Lilith and make sure that bitch died the worst death possible.

Lilith did more than just torture and kill her, the demon visited Bela in Hell and spent several sessions carving up every neuron in the human's soul. Granted Lilith wasn't the demon who tortured her the most but she was the demon Bela could focus her rage on. The one that repeatedly ravaged her was either still in Hell or just some nameless normal black-eyed one who'd be impossible to find. Bela established contacts with whom she could then let the information come flowing in. She found multiple reports of demonic activity and made sure to field them to the Winchesters boys but nothing about Lilith. That white-eyed bitch was keeping a low profile. Then again who could blame her now that the angels were hunting her.

It had been weeks since Bela last heard from the brothers when she got a phone call on her cell. She knew it must have been important when she saw Dean's number. He'd been avoiding talking to her ever since Bela parted ways with the boys. She doubted it was because he didn't want her to leave, he seemed quite happy that Bela wasn't going to be in constant danger anymore. Maybe he just got uncomfortable getting close to anyone other than his brother.

"Dean. Been awhile," Bela answered her phone.

"Bela we need your help," Dean said. Bela was starting to have flashbacks to the time he needed dream root from her. His manners were just as bad then as they were now.

"As long as I don't have to see your brother's sexual fantasies again, I'll all ears," quipped Bela.

So Dean went to explain their whole situation. They were approached by Ruby, the so called good demon or the unicorn as Bela jokingly referred to her as. The demon gave them information about a woman named Anna Milton who escaped from a psychiatric facility and was now being hunted by demons. More importantly, they were told to bring her back alive. The Winchesters interviewed her doctor and it turned out she had been hearing voices talking about the apocalypse, Lilith, and the 66 Seals. For someone with schizophrenia, she was surprisingly well informed. The demons killed Anna's parents but didn't find her. Dean and Sam found her hiding at a church but had been followed by a demon named Alistair.

Bela's blood ran cold when she heard that name. She remembered him clear as day. That bastard was the first demon who tortured her, calling the welcoming tradition. Eventually he got bored of her and other demons gladly took over. For Alistair to be chasing someone personally, this Anna Milton must either really pissed him off or has something very important. Ruby managed to get Anna to safety while Sam and Dean got roughed by Alistair. The brothers escaped but wounded and were now being followed by demons. Apparently they were willing to forego killing the Winchesters until the boys led them to Anna. They must really want this woman and the Winchesters wouldn't be able to fight back. They managed to lose Ruby's knife during the whole fiasco which Bela made sure Dean knew he couldn't blame her for losing this.

The boys managed to lose their tails and met up with Ruby who had kept Anna safe in an abandoned barn. A demon protecting someone? Pigs must be learning to fly because Bela considered that more realistic then a good demon. Then Castiel and Uriel showed up. Bela would have figured the story would end there but no it gets even more interesting. The two angels wanted to kill Anna. They wouldn't say why and when they forced their way through the Winchesters when they resisted. Just as the angels were about to kill Anna, they were suddenly dispelled away by some flash of light. Dean found Anna in the next room where she drew a strange symbol on the wall with her own blood

"She banished them?" Bela asked in disbelief.

"Yeah. Not sure what the hell she did but it worked like a charm," Dean commented.

"All the more reason not to trust this woman Dean," Bela added.

"Bela she's not a bad person. Everything we know about says she's just your average everyday college student," Dean protested. Oh so she's a college student. No wonder he wants to help her. Bela was half tempted to say that but didn't want Dean to get the impression she was jealous.

"Who can banish angels with a blood spell. She's not human. I don't care how much she pretends to say otherwise," Bela stated.

"That's why we need your help," Dean spoke and he didn't sound happy about it.

"What do you mean?" inquired Bela.

"When she was two, Anna got terrified whenever her dad got close to her. She kept saying that he wasn't her father and that her real dad wanted her dead. Parents got her some help and she got better until now," Dean explained. So she has a horrible father, Bela could relate to that.

"Pretty vivid stuff for someone's who wasn't in kindergarten yet," Bela commented.

"Which is why we need you to give her some hypnosis and conjured up those lost memories," replied Dean. Well he certainly had a high opinion of her talents.

"Dean I'm not psychic. Whatever I was able to do came from the mystical objects I collected over the years and I lost all of them when I died," Bela sighed.

"Yeah but you used tarot cards during our little acid trip episode and that can only be done by someone who knows what they're doing. Bobby's got books on it but it might as well be quantum physics to me," said Dean.

"What's a matter? They didn't come in picture books?" quipped Bela.

"As a matter of fact no," grumbled Dean.

"Then call a real psychic and have them do it," complained Bela.

"Slight problem there. The only real one we know of isn't really talking to us," stated Dean.

"Why?" asked Bela.

"Because the last time she helped us, she saw Castiel's true appearance and it burned her eyes out," answered Dean.

"Oh," groaned Bela. "Fine Dean. I don't like any of this but I'll do it. Where are you?"

"Bobby's place in Sioux Falls, South Dakota," Dean told her.

"Are you insane? That's the first place the angels will probably look," Bela snapped.

"We're not staying alright. We're grabbing some supplies and then we're outta here. There's a motel about half an hour outside the city named Arrowhead. Meet us there," Dean replied.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Unlike the Winchesters who drove everywhere, Bela preferred to fly in case of emergencies and this seemed to qualify as one. She had to pay off a smuggler she did business with to fly her to Sioux Falls Regional Airport. That cost Bela more than she wanted but Dean need her help and God only knows why, Bela just couldn't stop herself from jumping into whatever mess he's in. Of course she knew exactly why but she wasn't going to admit it out loud. Dean had this effect on her to the point where she actually wanted to do some good. Bela Talbot actually changing her ways because of a man. At least he has a nice ass.

Bela was picked up by Dean at the airport and drove to the motel where Sam, Anna, and Ruby were hiding out in. All the windows had salt lines underneath them along with devil's traps. Sam was guarding the door with a shotgun filled with rock salt. All these measures would protect them from demons but it wouldn't do jack squat when the angels come knocking.

"Anna, Ruby, this is Bela," Dean introduced her to the others.

"The Bela?" asked Anna.

"Let me guess. The angels gossip about me too," remarked Bela.

"Oh yes but not like Dean. They're afraid of you," answered Anna. That caught everyone surprise and no one more so then Bela. How could the so called warriors of God who could smite demons with a single touch be afraid of a lowly little human?

"Afraid of me?" frowned Bela.

"They just keep telling one another that they need to be careful around you. I'm sorry but I don't know why," replied Anna.

"And you must be the unicorn Dean's told me about," Bela said, turning her attention to the demon.

"He certainly never called me that. It's tame by comparison to my usual names," Ruby replied.

"Can't say I blame him. After all, since when does a demon with a soul exists anywhere outside of Buffy the Vampire Slayer?" inquired Bela.

Ruby could read between the lines that Bela did not like her. "Since when does Abigail Grayson care about anybody but herself?" she retorted.

"Okay ladies. I love a catfight just as much as anyone but not right now," Dean interrupted them. "You said over the phone you know how a thing or two about hypnosis Bela?"

"I've used it once or twice in my profession," Bela shrugged.

Sam threw her a look. "Let me guess. You used to put someone in a trance then stole their stuff," he frowned.

"In my defense, they had it coming," Bela smirked. The two Winchesters glared at her but her smile never faltered.

"So you can help me remember?" asked Anna.

"Hopefully. It's not magical so it will only work if you want it to, hence why the schmucks I used it on deserved it," Bela quipped.

"Just focus on getting her childhood memories, not her wallet," muttered Sam.

"Not interested in her's or your's. You don't have anything worth stealing anyways," chuckled Bela. Sam rolled his eyes but kept his mouth shut. Bela had Anna lay down on one of the room's beds and get comfortable.

"Now I need you to be completely relaxed. As I count down, I want you to go deeper and deeper," Bela told Anna. The mysterious woman nodded her head and closed her eyes. "5…4…3…2…1…deep sleep. Every muscle calm and relaxed."

Anna's breathing slowed as she entered a meditative state. Now comes the tricky part. "Can you hear me?" asked Bela.

"I can hear you," Anna replied with a drowsy voice.

"Now Anna tell me how you can hear angels? How did you work that spell?" Bela inquired.

"I don't know. I just did," whispered Anna. Bela didn't know whether to believe the woman or not. Sure Anna sounded honest but Bela found it difficult to believe an angel banishing spell just pops into your head at random. But there was no point in repeating the question so she moved on.

"Your father, what's his name?" asked Bela.

"Rich Melton," answered Anna.

"All right but I want you to look further back when you were very young and just a couple of years old," Bela said.

"I don't want to," shivered Anna. She was scared, perhaps not even knowing why.

"It'll be okay," Bela reassured her. "Just one look darling. That's all we need."

"No," Anna refused. Bela was starting to get a little frustrated. Hypnosis only works if you cooperate.

"What's your dad's name? Your real father," Bela repeated the question. "Why is he angry with you?"

"No no no," Anna repeated over and over again, starting to panic. "NO!" Anna screamed bloody murder as the lights in the motel room started flickering.

"Calm down," Bela said but Miss Milton wasn't listening.

"He's going to kill me!" Anna shouted. A lamp went flying off the desk next to her and shattered on the wall. Lights and electric items started exploding, sparks flying everywhere. The bed she was lying on was shaking almost like a scene out of the Exorcist. Everyone was starting to freak out and Bela didn't blame them. Dean rushed over to grab Anna.

"Wait Dean," Bela tried to stop him but it was too late. Anna swung her arms out violently and stuck Dean, sending him flying across the room. But Anna didn't even seem to notice. Rather it seemed she was trying to defend herself from some kind of invisible attacker. Bela wanted to check on Dean but first she needed to end this. "Wake in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5."

Once Bela said 5, Anna eyes snapped open. Her breathing calmed down, her bed stopped shaking, and what was left of the electrical system in the room stopped shooting sparks. "Are you alright?" Bela asked her.

Anna sat up and almost seemed like a different person. She had a calmness and serenity on her face that just before all of this didn't seem possible. "Thank you Bela. That helped a lot," she said as she got to her feet. "I remember now."

"Remember what?" asked Sam.

"Who I am," replied Anna.

"Okay I'll bite. Who are you?" asked Dean who thankfully seemed no worse for wear after getting launched across the room.

"I'm an angel," Anna spoke.

The commotion they caused at the motel attracted far too much attention so the group was forced to relocate again. Bobby Singer owned an old barn not too far away that he used to store some weapons and equipment. It was also used as a fallback site should his home ever be destroyed. No one really spoke on their way there but a million questions were running through Bela's mind and she was sure the same questions were in everyone else's minds as well. If Anna was an angel then why was she a frail human and more importantly why were the other angels trying to kill her?

Once they arrived, Anna finally spilled the beans. She was an angel who willing fell to Earth to become a human. And why would an angel with incredible power and immortality become a weak frail human? Freedom. Angels exist to carry out the will of God and while humans are allowed to have freedom of choice, angels are not. In fact, disobedience is considered the greatest sin they can commit. Anna wanted the freedom and emotions that humans enjoyed so she removed her source of power called Grace and fell to Earth in the appearance of a comet. That certainly explained why the demons and angels were after her. The demons wanted to use her as their own angel radio and the angels wanted her dead for her perceived betrayal.

The only way for Anna to be safe is if she regains her Grace and become an angel once more. Problem is she knew it fell to Earth with her but she had no idea where it is. Leave it to Sam Winchester to come up with a brilliant solution. He checked online for recorded sightings of falling meteorites around the same time Anna fell from heaven and found a match. The same time the angel landed in Ohio, another meteor was spotted over Kentucky. While the younger Winchester tried to narrow down the exact spot it landed, Anna took a breather outside. Dean followed to check on her while Bela felt somewhat obsolete.

Her first instinct was to tell the others she was heading home but Dean was about to do pull another Winchester and probably get himself killed. The fact was if anybody else was about to do something stupid, Bela might go out of her way to stop them ever since she got back from Hell. But she wouldn't risk her life for any one of them except for Dean. So Bela decided to catch some shut eye in in the passenger seat of the Impala because she had a feeling this was going to be a long week.

"Hello Bela," a familiar voice spoke beside her. Bela's eyes snapped open as she realized someone was in the driver's seat. She glanced to her side to see it was Castiel. How the hell did he find them? Ruby gave everyone some kind of advanced voodoo bags that could mask you from any tracking spells used by demons or angels. Unless he didn't find them at all.

"I'm dreaming," Bela realized. Dammit this was just like the time that demon named Crowley got her attention. He invaded her dreams and offered to rip up her contract in exchange for stealing the Colt from the Winchesters. That will be the last time Bela every trust a demon or anything over the Winchesters.

"Yes," nodded Castiel in that raspy voice of his.

"What do you want? Looking for a trench coat sale?" Bela muttered but already knew the answer.

"Where is Anna?" asked Castiel.

"Who?" Bela feigned ignorance.

"You're wasting your words with lies. We have been unable to locate you just like Sam and Dean. You're using the same magic to conceal yourselves from us which means you are with them and more importantly you know where Anna is," Castiel stated.

"Why don't you just wave that magic DeLorean wand of yours and time travel back to take out Anna when you knew where she was?" Bela inquired though she was really just wasting time until someone woke her up. Once the Winchesters find something, they rouse her from her slumber and she can get out of this mess. Since it didn't seem like the angel could read her mind all she had to do was stall. Unless Dean decided to let Bela have a good night's rest being the knight in shining armor type he was and she ends up stuck in this little dreamscape for the next several hours. That would be both sweet and infuriating at the same time.

"Time travel doesn't work that way and you're avoiding my question," Castiel replied.

"I'm not really avoiding it. More like ignoring it," quipped Bela.

"Anna is dangerous. You cannot trust her," Castiel said.

"Spare me Michael Landon. I know Anna is a fallen angel and you folks apparently don't take desertion very well," Bela spoke.

"First I am not the archangel Michael and there is no angel named Landon," Castiel objected. Bela rolled her eyes. Angels didn't seem to grasp the concept of sarcasm very well. "Second Anna is a threat to all of you because every demon on this planet is hunting her. An angel of flesh and blood who can be tortured for information that could impede our efforts to stop the rising of Lucifer. The only way to stop that is to kill her."

"You know I get the funny feeling you angels haven't got the memo to read the New Testament. You know the hippy section where you turn the other cheek," Bela joked.

Castiel was losing his patience. "I am not here to discuss philosophy with you. Either tell me where Anna is or you will regret it," he demanded.

"Sorry handsome but you're not the first non-human to threaten me and I've been through Hell and back. Nothing you do can even compare to that," Bela smirked.

"Yes there is. We can throw you back in," Castiel warned her. Bela had to suppress the terror she felt in her spine. They wouldn't do that. They were angels, not demons.

"You're bluffing. Besides you need me to keep Dean in line. Without me, he won't do a damn thing you say and I'm guessing he must be pretty important for you to tell him he's going to stop the apocalypse," Bela pointed out.

"If Dean won't cooperate then he has to be reminded there are consequences for his actions. Either you tell me where Anna is or the moment you are found, we will cast you back into the pit. Once Dean capitulates then we will bring you back," Castiel informed her.

"You can't do that," Bela quivered, her calm façade starting to shatter.

"I will do whatever it takes to stop the apocalypse. I don't take pleasure in this and even protested this decision with my superiors but their orders are clear. If you and Dean won't cooperate, I will have no choice but to use your soul as leverage. So tell me what I need to know and you will remain unharmed," Castiel said, almost begging her in his own sort of way. He didn't want to do it but that didn't give Bela any comfort.

Dammit Bela couldn't go back to Hell. If it was Dean whose life was on the line then maybe she'd make a stand but it was Anna the angels wanted to kill, a woman Bela had no care or concern for. Bela wanted to be a better person, someone Dean would actually be proud of but the truth was she was still the same selfish thief she's always been. And she wasn't going to die to protect someone she didn't even know, let alone care about. A tiger can't change its stripes.

"We're…" Bela said, about to reveal everything…

"Bela wake up," a voice spoke. Bela's eyes snapped open as she realized she was still in the Impala only Dean was now in the driver's seat with a hand on her shoulder, waking her up. Bela didn't know whether to be grateful to out of that dream or pissed because she didn't tell Castiel what he wanted.

"C'mon Sam's got something for us," said Dean. Bela nodded with a shaken look on her face. Dean noticed it and asked, "You okay?"

"Let's just get inside," Bela avoided the question as she got out of the car.

Sam Winchester continued to prove that he was the brains of the family. He found some articles referring to a so called miracle in Union, Kentucky. A full grown oak tree grew out of an empty field in less than six months. What made it connected was the timeline. It appeared soon after Anna's mother was pregnant. Anna said her grace could have caused something like that. Unlike a bomb which would cause damage after it lands, an angel's grace would stimulate life. So it was time for another wonderful road trip with the Winchester brothers.

Bela knew she should have just told Dean she wasn't coming but couldn't leave with Castiel's threat looming over her head. She wasn't going to risk her life for some fallen angel she didn't know but at the same time couldn't bring herself to admit the truth to Dean. A year ago, this wouldn't even be a problem for Bela. She would have ratted Anna out and not lose a wink of sleep over it. Now Bela couldn't risk going to sleep otherwise Castiel will go Freddy Kruger on her again. She was finally starting to realize just how much Dean mattered to her. Sure he was handsome as hell and had a sense of humor that could actually make Bela smile (not that she would actually admit it). But Bela never thought she care enough about him to risk her neck not just by joining on this stupid little trip but also by not telling the angels were they were even after they threatened her.

It was a long twelve hours with Bela crammed in the middle of the back seats with Anna and Ruby. It was bad enough sitting next to the fallen angel who was probably going to get Bela killed but she was also right next to a demon. Ruby can claim to have pulled a Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer all she likes, Bela was never going to trust a demon ever again. Why didn't she just stay home?

Bela could hear Dean chuckling from the driver's seat. Big mistake. "Something funny?" growled Bela.

"No…it's just an angel, a human, and a demon riding in the back seat. It's like the setup to a bad joke…" answered Dean. Bela rolled her eyes. "…or a penthouse forum."

Bela replied to that by reaching forward and slapping Dean in the back of the head. "Ow! Hey! Don't ever hit the driver!" he shouted.

Now Bela really lost her temper. "I cannot believe this. I am stuck on a road trip with two perverted siblings, the Michael Landon Identity, and a bloody demon," she snapped.

Ruby frowned, "What are you talking about? How's Sam perverted?"

"He didn't tell you about the time he dreamed of having sex with me?" Bela answered. Sam looked like he wanted to melt in the front seat, Dean sighed in annoyance, Anna was uncomfortably silent, and Ruby was amused.

"Really?" Ruby chuckled as she glanced at Sam. "You have a thing for bad girls choirboy?" she laughed.

Bela glanced back and forth between Ruby and Sam and instantly recognized from their looks what was going. "Wait a second. You two are a thing?" she asked.

"Bela drop it," Dean ordered but she wasn't going to let him have the last word.

"Having a relationship with something you hunt? You really are Buffy Sam," Bela chuckled. The joke allowed her to sidestep why she just lashed out like she did.

Once they arrived at their destination, everyone was relieved. Not for Anna getting her angelic mojo back but simply because they weren't stuck together in that car anymore. Bela suggested Dean next time rent an SUV when transporting five people. He responded by saying there wouldn't be a next time. Dean was implementing a maximum occupancy of four people in the car. As far as he was concerned, Ruby could use the teleportation bus from now on. Only problem was the whole trip was for nothing. They found the tree but it was empty. Somebody or something got Anna's grace before they did.

So after finding another empty barn to hide out in, the group tried to plan their next move but their options were somewhat limited. With the angels and demons gunning for them all, it was only a matter of time before they were discovered and they would be screwed at that point. Dean wanted to head back to Bobby's but Ruby shot that down, reminding them that they couldn't hide there forever and that panic room of his only worked on demons. The angels would be able to walk right in it.

"Guys, the angels are talking again," Anna spoke up, silencing the others.

"What are they saying?" asked Sam.

"They know I'm listening. They're using me to pass a message along to Dean," gulped a nervous Anna.

"What?" asked Dean.

"They're saying they already warned Bela so now they're warning you. Either you give me up by midnight or Bela is send back into the pit," sighed Anna. The Winchesters exchanged a horrified reaction but Dean noticed the lack of any kind of reaction from Bela. Cat's out of the bag now.

"What are they talking about Bela?" Dean demanded.

There was no point in lying so she came clean. "Before we left on that lovely little road trip of ours, I managed to get a little shut eye. Castiel visited me in a dream and said if I didn't tell them that he would send me back to Hell," Bela admitted.

"But you didn't tell them anything?" asked Sam. The younger Winchester certainly had a higher opinion of her then Bela did of herself. She silently nodded in response.

"Those sons of bitches," Dean cursed.

"Wait a second. Why are we just hearing about this now?" demanded Rudy.

"Because it doesn't make a bloody difference that's why," snapped Bela. She didn't have to answer to anyone, least of all something that looks like it came out of an ashtray.

"Anna do you know of any weapon that works on an angel?" Sam asked, quickly tried to change the topic before the two bad girls of the group started a catfight though Bela was quite certain Dean would have gotten a kick out of it.

"To what? Kill them?" frowned Anna. "Nothing we could get to. Not right now."

"I say we call Bobby and get him back from Hedonism…" Dean started to say.

"Dean what's he going to tell us that we don't already know?" Sam interrupted him.

"I don't know but we've got to think of something," snapped Dean, sounding desperate. Bela thought it was nice to hear him getting so concerned about her even though they're really wasn't much he could do about it. But at the same time she couldn't stay here, she needed some air. Bela headed outside, letting everyone continue to argue amongst themselves. She didn't know how long it was before Dean joined her. He didn't say anything as he approached Bela, he just sat down on the same tree stump she was sitting on.

"So why didn't you us tell about your dream when we were still at Bobby's?" Dean asked. Dammit he just had to ask the tough question right off the bat.

"You'll wish you didn't ask that," Bela answered, warning him.

"Yeah well tell me anyways," Dean said, strangely not condescending or hostile. Bela expected him to be a little bit angrier over all of this. Well Dean would be once he hears her answer.

"I was waiting," Bela admitted.

"For what?" frowned Dean.

"To see if Anna could get her powers back and protect us," Bela replied.

"And if she didn't?" Dean inquired.

"Then I was going to take a nap and tell Castiel everything," Bela said. Dean didn't say a word, he just turned his head away. His silence was worse than any condemnation. "I haven't changed Dean. I'm still the same opportunistic self-serving bitch when you first met me. A tiger can't change its stripes."

"I don't get it. Why didn't you just admit to Cas where we were from the start?" Dean asked, not happy.

"I refused at first but then he threatened me. Before I could tell him, you woke me up. I'm sorry Dean but I can't go back to Hell. I just can't," Bela said as tears slide down her cheeks. "I don't know how much you remember but I remember plenty. Every day getting picked apart piece by piece. I would scream until my throat went dry and my lungs gave out. I remember this one demon always came back to me every day like I was his favorite. He would cut me, break my bones one by one but he'd always leave my eyes and ears intact. He wanted me to see and hear what happened at the end of his little sessions. That bastard would whisper to me…" Bela explained.

"A man has needs," Dean whispered. Bela's blood ran cold when he said that. It was the same thing her father would tell her every time he visited her room as a child. She told Dean about it just before they both ended up in Hell but how did he know the demon said that?

"I know that because it was me," Dean said, answering her unspoken question.

"Wha…what are you talking about?" Bela demanded, unable to process what she was hearing.

"We both went to Hell but we didn't go through the same torture. Sure they cut me apart just like every other sap down there but Alastair's favorite torture wasn't even touching me. He'd force me to watch as he tortured and raped you. He'd make me watch it over and over and over. Then he offered me a deal. He would make them to me after each of his sessions. If I tortured people for him, he'd stop hurting me. Every time I would tell him to stick it where the sun don't shine. Except this time he made a different offer. He said if I tortured someone for him, he'd spare you. Every day I hurt someone, you would be spared that day," Dean explained.

"So when they took me off that rack, they put serial killers, rapists, Nazis, basically the '27 Yankees of scum and filth. First time I did it I was trying not to vomit but the more I did it, the more I enjoyed. It was like every time I cut into one of those bastards, I was cutting out a piece of my own humanity. Until it didn't matter who they put in front of me, I would just hurt them as badly as I could. Then Alastair put you in front of me and I…I'm sorry," he whispered.

Bela couldn't believe what she was hearing. This whole time Dean had been that demon. The one that tormented so badly that Bela preferred Lilith or Alastair torturing her then him. And to think this whole time he was right beside her. For months Bela couldn't have been more grateful for Dean and thought he was the greatest thing in the world. My god she even cared about him, something she's never done before. Bela felt like she was going to be sick.

Bela stood up and staggered forward, almost retching. Dean got to his feet to help her but Bela held up a hand stopping him. "Stay away from me," she whispered before walking off.

Bela stayed away from everyone the rest of the night with the exception of Ruby who gave her a hex bag, promising it would keep angels and demons from entering her dreams. Bela actually the thanked the demon, surprising them both. She tried to get some sleep in the Impala but the thought that this might be her last night on Earth kept her awake. She thought about so many things, the life's she led, the thing's she's done, Jacob, and especially Dean. Bela wanted to hate him so much but the truth was Dean did the exact same thing she did. He never told her what happened because he was ashamed just like Bela was of not telling Dean about the angelic death threats. The man saved her life more than once and got her out of Hell. Whatever he did while he was in Hell wasn't him. Dean might have memories of the horrors he inflicted on others but that wasn't him.

Bela must have fallen asleep because it was dark one minute and then dawn the next when a knocking on the window woke her up. Her back was aching from sleeping on car seats instead of an actual bed but she was just glad to be alive to see another sunrise. Outside Sam Winchester was waiting by the front door, obviously the one who woke her up. "Bela c'mon. We need to talk," he announced.

Bela sighed and sat up, getting out of the car. Sam then proceeded to inform her about their little master plan assuming while their idea could be considered a plan. Planning usually involved intelligence while this one had none of that. The idea was to get the angels and demons hunting them in the same place and letting them duke it out. Ruby was off to spill the beans to Alistair while Dean played stool pigeon in Dreamville. Anna would snatch up her grace which was in Uriel's possession. "This has to be the dumbest idea I've ever heard," Bela groaned.

"Bad ideas seem to be our thing," Sam agreed. "What's going on with you and Dean? He's been in a slump ever since after he talked to you last night."

"None of your damn business," Bela glared at him. She wasn't going to open herself up to just anyone and certainly not Sam Winchester.

"Fine," Sam sighed in irritation. "You need to get in the barn and get ready."

"Another idiotic bloody Winchester plan," Bela muttered to herself. She headed inside the barn with Sam right behind her. Dean was seated on a drum drinking whiskey while Anna was nervously looking through cracks in the barn walls. If what Bela was told really was the plan, Anna had all the reason to be afraid.

"Hey," Bela uttered as she walked up to Dean. Neither of them could look each other in the eye. "Dean is there somewhere we could talk?"

He was about to speak before the barn doors suddenly shot open, nearly getting knocked off their hinges. Bela gasped as four familiar figures calmly strolled into the barn. Castiel, Uriel, Adriel, and Balthazar. Apparently they were coming in full force after not getting the job done with just two of them. Dean instantly put himself between the angels and Bela. She would have muttered some kind of joke about white knights if she wasn't so afraid. With a motion of Uriel's hand, the doors closed behind them.

"Hello Anna. It's good to see you," Castiel spoke.

"How?" demanded Sam. "How did you find us?"

"The only other thing that popped out of your mother's uterus," said Balthazar though it wasn't very sarcastic. This might be the first time Bela had ever seen the angel so angry. Dean looked just as ashamed as he was last night. Bela wondered how much of it was really an act.

"Dean?" Sam whispered.

"I'm sorry Anna," Dean sighed. If Bela didn't know what was going on, she'd actually think his guilt was genuine. Of course maybe it was. If those demons didn't show up soon, this would be all over.

"I guess that whore was worth raising from Hell after all," Uriel chuckled. Had that angelic prick been anything else, Dean probably would have killed him judging from the look on his face.

"If you ever call her that again or threaten her again, I will kill you. That goes for all of you," Dean warned the angels.

"You don't even know how," laughed Uriel.

"Hasn't stopped me before," Dean glared at him. Uriel eyed the human the same way a hungry lion looks at a human through a cage door.

"Enough Uriel," Castiel ordered, getting him to back off.

"It's alright Dean. You did the best you could. I forgive you," Anna said calmly, touching his shoulder. Dean's anger seemed to dissipate with her touch. Of the four angels, Castiel was the only who seemed somewhat guilty about what was going on. Uriel had that smug look on his face while Balthazar and Adriel had pure hatred on theirs.

"I'm sorry Anna," Castiel said.

"No you're not," Anna shook her head. "You don't know the feeling."

"Cas might be but I'm not," Balthazar spoke up.

"Neither am I," Adriel chimed in. "By doing what you did you betrayed our father and your family. We looked to you for guidance while Heaven was silent and you abandoned us."

"I'm sorry I left you all alone and scared but I just wanted to be happy for once. I just wanted to be free," Anna explained.

"We're angels! We don't get to be free!" shouted Adriel.

"But I suppose she never really was one of us," scoffed Uriel.

"She certainly won't die as one," Balthazar pointed out.

"I'm sorry but orders are orders," sighed Castiel.

"I know. Just make it quick," Anna demanded. Bela couldn't believe it. Sam and Dean were actually just going to let this happen. The plan may have gone to hell but what happened to the fight to the end attitude the boys were known for?

"Don't you touch a hair on that poor girl's head," a man spoke behind Bela. She turned and to her horror, there were at least a dozen people who somehow appeared in the room. Two of them had Ruby by the arms and by the looks of her, tortured her. The man in the center of the group had a familiar accent to him.

"Who is that?" Bela whispered to Dean.

"Alastair," he answered. If Bela was afraid before, now he was completely terrified. She remembered Alastair from her time in Hell and quite frankly there's no one besides Lilith that frightens her more. The demons shoved Ruby aside.

"Well if it isn't little Abigail," Alastair smiled at Bela. "Lilith says hello by way."

The humans quickly moved to the side of the barn as the angels approached the demons with murder on their faces. "How dare you come into this room you pussing sores," Uriel spat.

"Name calling," scoffed Alastair. "That hurts my feelings you sanctimonious fanatical pricks."

"Finally a demon that can make a decent comeback. I almost feel bad I'm about to smite you cockroach," Balthazar jested.

"Turn around and walk away now," Castiel warned.

"Sure," shrugged Alastair. "Just give us the girl. We'll make sure she gets punished good and proper."

"Anna will die and so will you if you continue to profane this place with your presence," Adriel threatened.

Alastair laughed, "Can't we all just get along?"

"You know who we are and what we will do," stated Castiel. "I won't say it again. Leave now or we lay you to waste."

"Think I'll take my chances. After all, you're the ones outnumbered," smiled Alastair.

"Good," smiled Balthazar. "It'll actually be a little entertaining."

"Shouldn't we be getting the hell out of here?" Bela whispered to Dean.

"Not really the plan," Dean whispered back. Bela was about to say screw the plan when the two sides clashed.

The angels and demons rushed into each other, turning the whole barn into a brawl house. The demons had overwhelming numbers and yet the angels held their own. They were stronger and it didn't matter how the demons attacked them, nothing brought the angels down. The only demon that actually seemed to be putting up a fight was Alastair who was exchanging blows with Castiel. The angel touched his forehead and concentrated, as if trying to initiate some kind of attack. Alastair simply laughed and said, "Sorry kiddo. Why do you run back to daddy?"

Alastair uppercuted Castiel with enough force to send him flying across the room. Four demons grabbed onto Adriel's hands, trying to restraint her. She screamed in fury, teleporting onto the ceiling along with her attackers. Adriel came crashing down on them, slamming them down hard enough to sink them into the ground. She grabbed two demon's head and they screamed, light bursting out of their eyes and mouths. So that was what Castiel was trying to do to Alastair. Adriel repeated the same thing with the other two. Uriel and Balthazar severed arms and limbs, smiting the demons once they weren't able to fight back.

Alastair unleashed a barrage of punches and kicks on a downed Castiel. "Postetas Inferma Me Confirma," the demon spoke as he did. Castiel started turning pale, growing weaker. What the hell was going on? Whatever was happening soon ended when Dean suddenly leaped into view with a crowbar and smacked it across Alastair's face. To Bela and everyone else's shock, that only seemed to piss the demon off.

"Dean I am so disappointed in you. You had such promise," Alastair growled. He stretched out his hand and suddenly Bela felt like her insides were being ripped apart. She gasped for air as she dropped to her knees. Beside the same thing was happening to Sam and Dean.

"No!" screamed Uriel. Bela turned to see Anna clenching some kind of vial and smashing on the ground. It unleashed some kind of blue mist-like energy that swirled like a funnel right into Anna's mouth. She dropped to her knees in obvious pain then her stomach started to glow. Bela wasn't sure if this was a good thing or a bad thing.

"Shut your eyes!" Anna screamed. Bela didn't understand what was going on but did as she was told. She could feel the ground shaking and the heat from whatever was happening to the fallen angel. Anna screamed again only for her screams to be replaced by the sound of an explosion. Bela was knocked off her feet but strangely suddenly felt perfectly fine as if someone healed the damage Alastair inflicted on her. She opened her eyes to find the remaining demons including Alastair gone with the exception of Ruby. The angels were all still around, stunned by whatever they just witnessed.

Apparently Anna got her mojo back and got rid of the rest of the demons along with healing Sam, Dean, and Bela. Now they only had to worry about the angels. Castiel was weakened, Balthazar was stunned, and Adriel and Uriel were furious. They looked at the humans apprehensively, as if unsure what to do next.

"Well what are you guys waiting for?" asked Dean. "Go get Anna unless of course you're scared."

Uriel tried to rush at the human but Castiel stopped him. "This isn't over," Uriel growled.

"Oh it looks over to me junkless," Dean mocked him. Bela tried her best not to laugh as one by one the angels vanished with Castiel giving an apologetic look to Bela just before disappearing.

Well once again the Winchesters somehow survived another one of their stupid plans and even got back that demon killing knife they lost. Bela was starting to believe in an intervening God because how else could that all be possible. Still the job was done and the angels didn't kill Bela after Anna escaped which probably means the kill order on Bela was rescinded. All that was left was to go home. Dean drove her to the nearest airport and for the entire trip the two were silent. Bela wanted to say something and it was clear Dean wanted to as well. Neither wanted to start it however.

Once they reached the airport. Bela was about to clear the air when Dean asked, "You hate me don't you?"

"What? Dean no," sighed Bela.

"C'mon of course you do. You know the things I did to you were worse than anything Lilith and Alistair did."

"That wasn't you."

"Yes it was. I remember every scream, every cut, and I loved every second of it. So I know you hate me and I deserve it," Dean said firmly.

Bela wanted to hit him and not for the reasons he might think. "Yes terrible things happened in Hell but that wasn't you! For God's sakes Dean, you're the same idiot who risked his life to save me…dammit I lost count on how many times you've done it! My point is whatever Alastair and those bastards did to you made you into something you're not. So no I don't hate you Dean because as far as I'm concerned, that wasn't you. You offered to go straight back to Hell once you got out to rescue me. So stop with all this bloody angst and feeling guilty for yourself Dean!" she snapped.

Her rant seemed to change Dean's grim mood. "I remember everything…" he tried to say.

"Oh shut up," Bela cut him off. She suddenly leaned closer and kissed on the lips. Bela didn't know what caught Dean off guard more. The kiss or forgiveness. He sat there with a stunned look on his face. Bela decided why not and kissed him again. This time Dean returned it. The two locked lips for who knows how long. Bela enjoyed it so much she didn't want it to end. When they finally separated, Bela felt slightly awkward. That was the first time she'd ever kissed someone like that. Not for show but actually have meaning to it. Dean's grim facade was gone, a slight smile forming on his face along with blushing cheeks. His awkwardness was kind of cute.

"Face it Dean. That's a far better reward for saving my life than fifty-grand," Bela chuckled, wanting to leave on a sarcastic high note. She grabbed her things and got out of the Impala, not looking back as she headed inside.

"Well? What did they say?" demanded Uriel as Castiel teleported into an empty forest to speak with his three siblings Adriel, Uriel, and Balthazar. He had just returned from Heaven to inform Zachariah of what has transpired and the elder angel was not pleased. He gave Castiel specific instructions and sent him back down to Earth.

"We are not to harm Abigail Grayson or Sam Winchester," explained Castiel.

"Why?" fumed Uriel.

"When have they ever told me why?" Castiel sighed.

"Besides you know better than to question our orders," Adriel pointed out.

"Oh shut up!" snapped Uriel. "Maybe if you didn't take a liking to that abomination you'd realize we should have smited him from the start!"

"Sam Winchester is useful," Adriel glared at him. "More importantly I don't believe he is evil despite the blood in his veins."

"That thing is a depravity and I suspect he was the one behind the demons showing up right when they did," ranted Uriel.

"And what else do you propose we do?" Balthazar groaned, growing more annoyed by this conversation.

"I gave an ultimatum. Anna's life or Abigail's. Now Anna still lives and while we might need that human bitch to keep Dean in line, we still need to punish him," Uriel stated.

"Would you like to protest then by all means you can do so once he arrives," sighed Castiel.

"What are you talking about?" asked Uriel.

"Heaven is sending a specialist to hunt down Anna and kill her. He will be joining us shortly," Castiel answered.

"Who?" asked Balthazar. Within seconds, the clear sky turned dark as storm clouds formed overhead. Lightning lite up the sky as thunder boomed overhead. A being appeared in a flash of lightning, catching everyone including Castiel by surprise. The archangel Raphael had arrived. Castiel and his siblings were stunned by the arrival of an archangel in their midst. They quickly bowed their heads. Castiel knew someone was coming from he wasn't expecting an archangel.

"You were ordered to kill Anna. Why does she still live?" Raphael demanded.

"Some demons…interceded before we could destroy her," Adriel answered, nervous.

"And yet you failed," Raphael glared at the four regular angels with disdain.

"She managed to get her grace back. We were no match for her," Uriel protested.

Raphael suddenly teleported right in front of him. "And how was she capable of that?! You took her grace away from its crash site didn't you?"

"Yes," nodded Uriel who was starting to sweat.

"And you brought it with you and allowed her to steal it from your grasp?" Raphael inquired.

"We were fighting demons. I was distracted," Uriel pleaded. None of the other angels dared attempted to intercede.

"You failed!" shouted Raphael as thunder boomed overhead. The wind started picking up as rain came pouring down. An archangel's mood alone could change Earth's weather. It was a testament to their incredible power. Castiel was worried Uriel was about to be smited as Raphael raised his hand. He touched Uriel's shoulder and said, "But I forgive you."

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as the storm overhead dissipated. "Forgive me Raphael but I wasn't aware that Heaven was sending an archangel to hunt a fallen angel," Castiel spoke up.

"I volunteered for this mission," Raphael explained. "Any fallen angel is a grave threat to the unity of our family. Every second her life continues, Anna shows that she can defy heaven and live. That angels no longer need to carry out our Father's will and the will of his Archangels. I will rectify that misconception. I will find her but I will not kill her. I will take her back to Heaven and I will make her suffer in ways none of you can even comprehend."

Raphael glared at the four angels, sizing them up. "I don't know what lies within all of you. Whether you're time on this planet has shaken your commitment but if I discover that any one of you has been aiding her, you will suffer the same fate as Anna," he warned before teleporting away.

(I was a little nervous about having Dean and Bela kiss in the same chapter Dean tell her the truth about what happened in Hell but like everyone else, I was getting a little tired of how long it was taking. So I just typed this all down and hoped it was good enough for people to accept. Originally I was going to have Balthazar visit Bela in her dream but the dialogue I can up with wasn't witty enough between them so I decided to use Castiel instead. Hope nobody thinks that I was trying to make Castiel seem evil by doing this but this was Season 4 Cas. The last scene with the angels was based on a deleted scene from the episode and I decided to throw in Raphael simply because I wanted an excuse to write a scene with an archangel. Now I'm jumping forward a bit to Death takes a Holiday where the ending will be very different.)
