Bronx, New York

Gabriel busted up laughing as the Wall Street douchebag ran by him screaming in terror. "Choppy choppy," several mannequins brought to life by the archangel said as they chased after the human with meat cleavers in their hands. That douchebag apparently thought it was amusing for him to pass HIV onto as much woman as he could so Gabriel thought why not solve that little problem by 'disarming' him. The angel couldn't wait to see how the human would explain the attack to the police. "That's about as pleasant an experience as you can get with JCPenny's customer service," chuckled Gabriel.

He was thoroughly enjoying himself when the nearby streetlight he was standing close to burst from an electrical surge. Gabriel sighed in annoyance as the nearby parked cars started going off, their lights flashing and car alarms blaring. He was really hoping to avoid running into any of his siblings. The night sky above him lite up as an angel descended from above. To his surprise, it wasn't Michael, Raphael, or any other archangel. It was Anna, a powerful seraph but ultimately a bug compared to the power of an archangel.

"Go away," Gabriel told the descending light.

"Gabriel I need your help," Anna replied, her voice shattering glass and the eardrums of the Wall Street douchebag.

"Do you mind? I'm in the middle of something," Gabriel shook his head. The mannequins caught up with their prey and started surgery.

"It's important," Anna ushered him.

"One snap of my finger and you'll be someone else's problem in Avalon. I should warn you, Ariel's been very active over there ever since she killed the fairy king and took over. If my little sister catches you, she won't be very happy to see you," Gabriel warned her. He knew all about Anna's fall from Heaven and that the angels were hunting her. Tough break but she knew the risks.

"You owe me Gabriel. Remember I'm the one who helped get Michael off your trail," Anna reminded.

"Whatever happened to just helping someone because it's the right thing to do? Nowadays everybody just does favors so they can hold something over you," Gabriel grumbled.

"I need your help. The demons are about to break another seal by killing two Reapers," Anna explained.

"Not my problem," snorted Gabriel.

"We have to stop them. Too many seals have been broken already!" Anna snapped. Gabriel could have told her the truth about why the demons were really winning this war to free Lucifer but couldn't bring himself to destroy Anna's spirit. She still had hope, something Gabriel had lost a long time ago.

"Anna I left Heaven for a reason. This whole mess between Heaven and Hell is nothing more than an extension of Michael and Lucifer. Those two bungling bag of dicks betrayed each other and now every angel and demon are ducking it out because of them," Gabriel explained.

"Then at least give me a body. You're an archangel, you can conjure one for me to possess. One I won't need permission to do so," Anna begged.

"This isn't going to end well for you if you get caught. Best thing you can do is just keep your head low and hope they give up the search," Gabriel warned her.

"I can't. Heaven might have a death sentence on my head but I'm still an angel and I have to fight," Anna replied.

Gabriel sighed. He tried to warn her but it's her choice. He snapped his fingers and a human body appeared out of thin air, specifically one similar to the body Anna had when she was human. Gabriel had met her before after she fell but decided to leave her alone as she seemed happy being human. "Don't say I didn't warn ya," Gabriel muttered as the younger angel entered her new body.

Miami, Florida

"So tell me Miss Karloff, why are you here?" Doctor Lynn Raines asked. This was Bela's first session and to anyone who knew her, this was a complete 180 to her entire personality. She was always guarded, lied too many times to count, and was rarely was honest with anyone. Bela was even seeing this psychiatrist under an alias, Mary Karloff. Thankfully the doctor wasn't a horror fan. So why was someone like Bela seeing a psychiatrist?

"Let me get one thing clear," Bela explained. "There are two reasons why I am here. You have a reputation for both discretion and success. And if there's something a person like me needs from you it's those things."

"And why is that?" asked Raines.

"Don't ask me about that," Bela replied.

"Okay," Raines stated. Bela didn't doubt for a second this woman was used to hearing that so she didn't push it. "You told me why you wanted to speak to me specifically but you didn't say why you wanted to talk to me in the first place."

"Aren't you a sharp tac?" chuckled Bela. "I have a…problem. You see my entire life I have cared only about myself. I might be what you shrinks call a sociopath."

"Have you always felt this way towards other people?" inquired Raines. Dammit Bela was not going to fall for that. The shrink was trying to get to the bottom of why her patient felt this way and that could lead to Bela's childhood which she wasn't ready to talk about.

"It doesn't matter now. You just need to know that I've never cared about anyone but myself. Then about a year ago, I met someone. We're almost nothing alike. Whereas I prioritize about my well-being, he would jump into a meat grinder if it meant saving someone else's life," explained Bela.

"Isn't that a good thing?" asked Raines.

"Truthfully I think he's idiot. Potentially throwing his life away and for what, some schmuck you'll never see again in your life? When I help someone, at least I get rewarded for it," Bela admitted. "Whereas…my friend doesn't care about being rewarded at all. Apparently helping someone to him is reward enough." She was hesitant to say his name in front of a total stranger.

"But…?" asked Raines, knowing Bela had more to say on the matter.

"But after I met him, I felt different. Suddenly I actually cared about what someone thought about me. The last thing I want to look like is some love sick teenage girl," muttered Bela. Dammit this was harder to talk about then she thought. "The problem is…we're complete opposites of each other. He's the selfless white knight and I'm the femme fatale."

"Does he know what kind of a person you really are?" asked Raines.

"Oh he knows," Bela commented.

"And does it bother him?"

"That's the thing. He does and he doesn't care. It's almost too good to be true," admitted Bela.

"Then what exactly is the problem?"

"Because I'm not a good person and I never will be. He probably thinks I'm going to change but I'm not," grumbled Bela. "A tiger can't change its stripes. Dammit I want to…be involved with him but I can't change what I am."

"Miss Karloff I don't understand what it is you expect me to do for you. I can't just prescribe you a conscience and no amount of therapy is going to change that either. It's something you either have or don't," Raines commented.

"Exactly so I'd like to know how to fake it. I know how to lie but…" Bela replied before getting cut off.

"My profession is resolving mental issues, not teaching how to falsify generosity. I might be able to help you confront certain issues interfering from going forward with any relationship with this friend of yours but I would need complete honesty from you," Raines spoke.

"Honesty isn't exactly my specialty," admitted Bela.

"Well it's necessary to conduct mine," Raines replied. "If you don't open up then I'm more than happy to keep listening to you and as long as your checks keep clearing I'll keep going that every session. But you'd only be wasting your own time and money. If you want me to really help you, you need to tell me everything. Otherwise I can't help you."

Bela found herself torn. She didn't want to open up…scratch that, she hated opening up. But Bela also didn't want to keep this facade she had going with Dean. How long until he realizes she's not the good person he thinks she is and cuts her out of his life? Bela didn't get a chance to actually give her shrink an answer as her phone went off. Ironically it was Dean. "Excuse me," Bela told Raines as she answered her phone. "Hello?"

"Bela…we….find…" Dean's garbled voice was barely audible through the static.

"Dean are you there? I can barely hear you," Bela said. She held up a finger to tell Raines she needed a minute and headed outside the office to see if reception gets any better.

"Dean can you hear me?" Bela asked.

"Hello Bela," a familiar voice spoke behind her. Bela turned to see Anna, the fugitive angel herself standing there in her old body. Before she could say a word, the angel touched her forehead and the two were suddenly not standing in hallway but outside on the sidewalk of a normal looking small town. They definitely weren't in Miami anymore and judging from the slight chill, they weren't in Florida either.

"Anna…what the bloody hell?" Bela stuttered.

"I'm sorry. Did I frighten you?" asked Anna.

"Yes but I've gotten used to heart attacks," Bela sighed as she glanced around. "Where are we and how did you get your body back?"

"I called in a favor to get this body and we are currently in Greybull, Wyoming," answered Anna.

"And why exactly did you beam us to the middle of nowhere?" asked Bela.

"Because the demons are about to break another seal here," stated Anna. That caught Bela's attention. "Do you know what a Reaper is?"

"The fat lady that sings," muttered Bela.

Anna smiled, "That's exactly how Dean would describe them. I'm starting to see why he likes you."

Bela threw the angel an annoyed look. "That's none of your business you bloody fairy," she replied.

"You're right," apologized Anna. "But what is happening in this town is. In the past week no one has died."

"So?" shrugged Bela.

"Because the reaper who worked in this town has been taken by demons," answered Anna.

"And why should I care about any of this? If you're telling me that demons have stopped people from dying in this town then maybe I should check out the local restate," quipped Bela.

"They're doing this to break one of the seals," Anna stated. Of course something like this was too good to be true.

"Dammit," Bela cured under her breath.

"Normally I wouldn't be worried. Demons may be able to interact with reapers but they can't kill them. However from I've managed to get out of torturing a local demon, Alastair is here and he supposedly has some new kind of weapon that can kill a reaper," said Anna. Great, if the scariest demon aside from Lilith was involved that meant this was really bad. Guess it was too much to hope that Anna fried his ass once she got her powers back in that barn. The last thing Bela wanted to do was jump into the trenches again but the planet was on the highway to hell. If somebody didn't help apply the brakes, there won't be a world left to enjoy.

"Then why hasn't he just ganked the fat lady and moved on?" wondered Bela.

"He needs two to complete the ritual and it has to be on a solstice moon which is only a few days away," explained Anna.

"Easy fix. Just let the reapers know what's going on and tell them to stay away from the town. No second reaper, no ritual," Bela stated.

"It's not like I have a hardline to any of them. I would have to find one and even then they may not listen to me. Reapers believe in maintaining the natural order even at the cost of their own lives," replied Anna.

"Well that's just peachy," groaned Bela. "So what do we do?"

"You're going to need to call the Winchesters for help," stated Anna.

"Are you bloody joking?!" snapped Bela. "Why is it every time the world is seemingly on the line as of late, Dean, Sam, and I are the only ones that can save the day? Why don't you tip off Castiel and let the other angels handle this or better yet stop those bloody smokers yourself?"

She was getting sick of being dragged into all of this especially when there were clearly more qualified heroes for the job. The angels alone should be saving the job but apparently they are too busy being dicks.

"The angels won't be of any help. All the buildings in this town had been engraved with special symbols that block angels from stepping inside," said Anna.

"Any other good news?" groaned Bela.

"Yes. Sam and Dean are being followed by an Archangel named Raphael. I can't get close to them or even try to contact them or he'll find me. Which is why you need to call them and tell them what's going on. I wouldn't stand a chance against Raphael," Anna said.

An archangel? Supposedly those are Heaven's big guns. Lucifer himself is one so this Raphael must have a lot of power at his disposal. A shame he probably wasn't going to be much help.

Bela contacted the Winchesters after Anna split to give her a head start. If Raphael was able to trace her call, Anna needed to be as far away from this town as possible. She informed the boys what was going on and they said it would take about twelve hours to get there. Strangely enough as soon as the call ended, storms clouds formed overhead outside. Odd since there was supposed to be clear skies throughout the day. So Bela waited in motel room by barring all the doors and windows, putting salt lines around every entrance along with several devil's traps for good measure. If demons were in this town, Bela wasn't going to get attacked while waiting for backup.

Bela bored herself with watching television. Who know someone could pass the time so quickly by watching HGTV? It wasn't until later that night that Dean and Sam arrived and Bela could tell within a few minutes something was wrong. The two seemed snippy towards one another and it only got worse after the brothers started checking around town the next morning. They searched for any sign of demonic activity but they didn't find any sulfur or strange deaths. The demons must be keeping a low profile. So Sam came up with the idea of summing the spirit of a boy who was the last to die in this town and hopefully get some useful information from him.

Once it got dark, Bela joined the brothers on a trip to the local cemetery to find the dead boy's grave. While Sam prepared the ritual, Bela managed to speak with Dean alone for the first time since this whole mess started. Things were slightly awkward considering the last time they were alone together, they kissed. "So how's business?" Dean asked.

"Profitable. You should try it sometime," chuckled Bela.

"No thanks. I'm too stupid to get a real job," laughed Dean.

"Well at least we can agree on that," smirked Bela. She was glad they could still have their witty banter with all that's happened. The last thing Bela wanted was for their talk to start turning into the mushy feelings kind.

"Bela if we are able to hypothetically stop Alastair from killing any reapers but can leave those things trapped wherever they are, should we?" asked Dean.

"What?" frowned Bela.

"I mean yeah we need to stop the reaper from dying but the demons must have it trapped somewhere. I'm just thinking maybe we should keep it there. If we set this reaper free, a lot of good people are going to die," explained Dean.

"Are you serious Dean?" asked Sam who seemed to have finished his ritual and joined the rest. "I don't want these people to die too but there's a natural order."

"You're kidding right," laughed Dean. "You don't see the irony in that. I mean all three of us are the poster children of the unnatural order. All we do is ditch death."

"Yeah but the normal rules don't really apply to us do they?" argued Sam.

"We're no different than anybody else," replied Dean.

"I've been infected with demon blood and you two were resurrected from Hell," countered Sam.

"I'm with Sam on us not being normal," agreed Bela. "But I also agree with Dean on letting this reaper stay locked up wherever. It's nice to have a town where you can take the Blue Oyster Cult song literally."

Sam threw her a look while Dean smirked victoriously. "You two going to help me finish this?" Sam asked.

"Hey!" a voice called out. The three turned to see a man with a flashlight and a 12 Gauge shotgun. Dammit of all the times for the locals to actually be vigilant around their cemeteries.

"I've got this," whispered Bela as everyone held up their hands.

"What the hell is going on here?" the man demanded.

"We're from the church of Anism here to give our departed friend the rite of the solstice," Bela spoke, making up everything on the fly. Hopefully this smuck will get irritated with them and tell them to get lost.

"The church of who?" frowned the man.

"Anism. We're not very popular," shrugged Bela.

"Looks like devil worship to me," the man commented.

"Oh of course. Typical. Anything under the sun remotely different from what you read about in bible school is automatically devil worship," Bela mockingly grumbled. "Our church believes in the purity of the soul and that during life it becomes corrupted. Only meditation during life and rituals after death allow the soul to be cleansed and find peace in the transition."

Bela was starting to think she missed her calling as a televangelist. They were liars and con artists just like her.

"Well we know Dean can't join your little club. His soul will never be clean," smiled the man. Wait a minute, they never mentioned their names to him. Bela's fears became real as the man's eyes turned white. It was Alastair.

"Oh bullocks," Bela muttered.

"Guess it was too much to hope Anna smoked you," grumbled Dean.

"Just my pediatrician meat suit. His wife's still looking for him, crying herself to sleep every night. It's hilarious," laughed Alastair.

Bela was slowly reaching for the pistol in her pocket. It was lined with salt mixed in with holy water for the rounds should hurt even demons. Unless of course holy water and salt didn't work on Alastair since he was a higher-tier demon. Sam and Dean were probably reaching for their own weapons so hopefully they could all blast him at once before Alastair decided to get trigger happy with that shotgun.

Bela drew her gun and fired. The bullets all stopped in mid-air. Dean drew his gun and fired with the same result. Alastair smiled at Bela, "Somebody's got some fight in them. Those angels really are miracle workers. The Bela I knew stopped screaming and fighting after my boy Dean had his fun with you."

"You son of…!" Dean charged at him only to get telekinetically thrown through the air and crash into a nearby gravestone. Bela thought they were all dead until Alastair turned his attention to Sam and made a flicking motion. Sam stood there, unharmed by whatever the demon did. Alastair frowned, confused.

"Yeah doesn't work on me," Sam smiled. What the hell was going on here?

Strangely Alastair smiled as well. "You're stronger Sam. You've been soloflexing with your little slut?" he asked. He must have been referring to Ruby but Bela still had the same thought recurring through her mind. What the hell was going on here?

"You have no idea," Sam spoke. With a motion of his hand, the younger Winchester send the demon flying into a tree. Bela couldn't believe what she was seeing. Sam concentrated and Alastair's smoke body shot out of his host's body, casting the demon off god knows where. The former host slumped to the ground unconscious.

Sam turned and for the first time saw the horrified look on Bela's face. "Bela…" he tried to say as he stepped towards her.

Bela took a step back. She remember seeing something like this before when Sam helped bust her out of a hospital but this was something completely different. Sam Winchester just defeated a demon strong enough to take on an angel and he did without breaking a sweat. "What the hell was that?" demanded Bela.

"The demon blood remember?" Sam reminded her.

"Yeah I remember. I also remember you could barely pull a regular demon out of a host now you're throwing Alastair around like a piñata?" snapped Bela.

"Is Dean alright?" asked Sam. Bela suddenly remembered him and quickly rushed to his side. Dean was unconscious and a little banged up but he looked okay. He was probably going to be out for a few hours though. Dean would have checked on Bela immediately if the same thing happened to her and yet Bela all but forgot about him watching Sam's little magic act. Dammit maybe that psychiatrist was right about her opening up.

"He's fine," Bela said then turned her attention back to Sam.

"Look when he wakes up you can't tell him what just happened," Sam said as he approached her.

"Is this why you and Dean have been bickering like a pair of school children all day?" demanded Bela.

"No it's more complicated than that. Look things are tense enough between us," explained Sam.

"Keeping secrets tends to do that," replied Bela, knowing the irony of that statement. Apparently it wasn't lost on the Winchester either.

"This coming from you?" scoffed Sam.

"I'm his girlfriend not his hunting partner. I don't need to be completely honest with him," grumbled Bela, not realizing what she was saying until she noticed the look on Sam's face. "Oh bloody hell did I just say that out loud?" she moaned.

Bela and Sam managed to get Dean back to the hotel and doubled the salt lines on all the entrances. While the elder Winchester was still in dreamland, Sam urged Bela not to tell his brother what really happened. Bela was not thrilled with keeping a secret like this from Dean until Sam insisted so she agreed to keep her mouth shut for now. He must have forgotten who he was dealing with. Sam left to get some food while Bela stayed with Dean to hold down the fort. She assumed the younger Winchester didn't need to worry much about demons if he could just flick them around with his mind.

Dean moaned for the first few minutes he regain consciousness. "Probably got a concussion," he groaned.

"Come now Dean. That skull of yours is so thickheaded it probably didn't even get a dent on it," chuckled Bela as she handed him some aspirin.

"Thanks Doctor Quinn," grumbled Dean before he swallowed the pills. He inquired just how on Earth they were still alive but Bela told him it was best if Sam was here to explain it all.

Sam got back with some garbage for breakfast or better known as McDonalds. "How ya feeling?" he asked his brother.

"I'm in pain that's how I'm doing," Dean moaned. "I think I've got a concussion."

"You want any aspirin?" asked Sam.

"House here already gave me some," Dean replied, pointing to Bela.

"Well pretty safe to say they know we're here," Bela commented.

"Yeah," agreed Dean. "Speaking of which, what exactly happened with Alastair?"

"Sam used his powers to pull Alastair out of his host and send him running," Bela answered. Dean's eyes widened as Sam glared at her.

"You…" Sam tried to say.

"I lied. It's what I do," Bela shrugged.

"You could barely give Alastair a sore throat the last time you tried to use that mojo of yours now you can pull him out of a host?!" Dean snapped at Sam.

"I've been practicing," Sam tried to explain.

"Let me guess. That's what you've been doing on your nightly escapades with Ruby," Dean growled.

"Yeah and it's working Dean. Otherwise none of us would be alive to have this conversation," argued Sam.

"Shut up you two!" Bela snapped. "I just knew if I stuck around the two long enough I'd turn into Super Nanny. Sam stop lying about what you can do from now on. If you can tear demons apart with your mind then you're now my third favorite person in the world."

Dean was about to say something but Bela didn't let him speak. "Not done talking! As for you Dean, you don't get to object to what Sam's doing. He saved both of our lives back in that cemetery and the fact is if he'd been allowed to do his little demon blood Jedi training the moment Ruby offered it, neither of us would have gone to Hell!" she shouted. It was harsh words but one that Bela's needed to get off her chest.

Dean glared at her but didn't say anything. Then again what could he say? That she was wrong? Had to argue that after what happened last night. Finally he relented and said, "So what do we do now?"

"Well I'm out of ideas and I don't recommend going back to that cemetery to try the John Edwards act again. Sam might be able to pull demons around with his mind but that doesn't mean they can't have one of them shoot him from a distance with a sniper rifle," Bela pointed out.

"Yeah," agreed Sam. "Best to lay low until we can figure out what to do next. What I want to know is where are the angels? We could use their help for once."

"Off being dicks that's what," grumbled Dean. "We're gonna have to take care of this one ourselves."

"And how exactly do you plan to do that General Patton?" asked Bela. "Reapers are bloody invisible which means wherever it's being held, we won't be able to see it."

"Well invisible to everyone except the dead and dying," Sam point out. Dean had a look in his eye and Bela did not like it. It was the look the Winchesters get whenever they have a very stupid idea.

"I swear to god Dean! Of all the bloody stupid ideas you've come up with, and you could fill an encyclopedia with them, this has to be the most insane idea yet. I take it back, it's not just your most insane idea ever, it's the dumbest idea ever in the history of bloody humanity!" Bela ranted.

"You're adorable when you're worried about me," chuckled Dean before heading out the door to pick up Pamela. Bela might have punched him in the face if he hadn't left. The boy wonder's brilliant solution to their missing reaper problem was for them to become ghosts. This was a suicide mission, literally. The Winchesters contacted the psychic Pamela Barnes and asked her to help them preform astral projection. Basically their spirits would leave their bodies and allow them to wonder in the spirit realm. Pamela thought they were just as insane as Bela did but agreed to help them.

When Dean returned the first thing Bela noticed about her was the large dark sunglasses. She knew Pamela was blind but still it was somewhat unnerving. All it took was a quick peek at an angel and she lost her eyes. Bela didn't want to think how fortunate she hadn't encountered the angels at their worst like Pamela did.

"Pamela this is Bela Talbot," Dean introduced the two.

"Ah so you're the woman Dean can't stop talking about," smiled Pamela as she shook Bela's hand. Dean glared daggers at Pamela who didn't need eyes to tell she annoyed him. Probably did that on purpose. Bela was staring to like her.

"Well someone has to keep him out of trouble," remarked Bela.

"Maybe you can help me talk some sense into these two. They're completely insane," Pamela stated.

"Well you're a sight for sore eyes Pamela," Sam said. Bela wasn't sure he was trying to make a stupid joke or simply ignorant. Dean rolled his eyes.

Pamela managed to laugh it off though. "Aw that's sweet grumpy. What do you say to deaf people?" she chuckled. The two Winchesters both groaned, embarrassed by Sam's stupidity. "So which one of you brainiacs came up with astral projection?"

Bela pointed at Dean. "Snitch," he grumbled.

"Of course it was Chachi," Pamela muttered.

"Well he could be Fonz but he'd need to change vehicles," Bela quipped.

"No thanks I'll pass," replied Dean.

"So let's be clear. You wanna rip your souls outta your bodies and take a stroll through the spirit world?" asked Pamela.

"Sounds like a typical Winchester plan," Bela commented.

"Do you boys have any idea how heavy duty insane that is?" Pamela inquired.

"Maybe but that's where the reaper is so…" Dean explained.

"So it's nuts," Pamela interrupted him.

"I'm with her on this one," agreed Bela.

"Not if you know what you're doing," argued Dean.

"You don't," Bela and Pamela both said at once.

"But you do," Dean told Pam.

"Yeah I do and this…" Pamela explained before removing her sunglasses and revealed her pure white eyes. If she hadn't stepped underneath a devil's trap taped to the ceiling above the door, Bela would have assumed she was possessed by Alastair. "…is what all that mystical mumbo jumbo knowledge got me. So the last thing I want is get back into this angel-demon soc-greaser crap."

"Yeah well I'd like to be kicking back with a cold one and watching Judge Judy too," Dean muttered.

"Nice. More blind jokes," Pamela scoffed.

"How is Judge Judy offensive to the blind?" asked a confused Bela.

"The point is that we're talking about the end of the world here and we need your help," Dean said.

"Still one problem Dean. What exactly are you going to do once you find the reaper. You'll essentially be nothing more then walking fog that can't touch or move anything," Bela pointed out.

"I seem to recall a bunch of ghosts beating the crap outta us," Sam replied.

"They had plenty of time to practice," sighed Pam.

"Hey if Patrick Swayze could figure it out then so can we," stated Dean. The decision was made for Dean and Sam to do the ghost walking while Bela and Pam stayed behind to watch over their bodies.

"And don't get any funny ideas with my body," Dean whispered to Bela while they were preparing.

"What kind of a girl do you think I am?" Bela mockingly gasped. "I would never take advantage of you like that. But just admit it Dean, if I did you'd only be angry because you wouldn't be inside your body to experience it," she chuckled.

Dean was trying his best to not to blush. "Careful Bela. You keep talking like that after that kiss of ours and I might get the impression you like me," he smiled.

"I only kissed you because it was the only way to shut you up. All that broody and angst is incredibly annoying," Bela said matter of factly.

"I'll be sure to do it more often then," Dean smirked.

With the preparations complete, Dean and Sam lay down on separate beds and were put to sleep by Pam who chanted some kind of spell. Bela's first instinct was to listen on this in case she needed to use it sometime in the future but part of her wanted to forget the words. This seemed like a spell that could backfire very badly if you screwed up. The Winchesters were completely silent, asleep or pretending to be. If the spell worked, they were nothing more than empty shells now.

"Well I'm assuming you two are somewhere over the rainbow. Remember we have to bring you back. I'll bring Sam back while Bela will bring Dean back but just in case something happens to one of us, we'll both know each other's safe words to pull you back in," Pam spoke.

Pam whispered to Bela that Sam's was, "You have a great ass." Bela could barely keep a straight face as the psychic whispered it to Sam's body.

Bela whispered her own to Pam who laughed. She then headed over to Dean's body and whispered into his ear, "You are an idiot."

Dean was grumbling once he got outside with Sam in their spectral forms. He was hoping Bela would whisper something a little dirtier into his ear but that woman just had to do something to irritate him. Then again maybe Dean shouldn't have been surprised. This was Bela he was referring to. At least she didn't threaten to paint his car pink again. The brothers searched around town for a few hours and while they found plenty of strange glowing glyphs on virtually every building, they couldn't find the reaper. That stuff must be what Anna was referring that could block angels.

Then they found another ghost named Cole Griffin, the very kid they were trying to conjure back in the cemetery. The poor kid had died of an asthma attack and was visited by a reaper. But black smoke attacked the reaper and took it away before it could convince Cole to come with. Ever since, the boy has been trying to contact his parents by moving things but all that's done is freak them out. Cole vanished after another reaper in the form of a hot brunette appeared and Dean was quite surprised it knew him by name. After kissing Dean, memories of his time after the accident that almost claimed his life three years ago came flashing back. Specifically his time as a ghost and he met the same reaper named Tessa. Dean was just glad Bela wasn't around during the kiss or he'd catch hell for that.

Tessa made it clear she was going to start reaping souls in this town immediately regardless of what the demons were planning but Dean managed to convince to delay that at least until they could stop Alastair. But it didn't matter if Tessa was going to stop or it as demons as snatched the reaper before the Winchesters had any chance to react. Now Alastair had two reapers and only needed to wait until tonight before killing them. For the rest of the day, Sam and Dean practiced ghost moves like some strange version of the Karate Kid and also Cole told them that the demons were in the local funeral home.

Later that night, the Winchesters snuck inside and found Tess and the other reaper unconscious inside of some strange symbol that been chalked on the floor. There was one demon standing guard. Sam and Dean went Jet Li on his ass, teleporting around him and punching relentlessly. Felt kinda cool being the ones who actually doing the haunting for once. The demon tried to retreat towards an empty casket situated on a pedestal. The Winchesters chased after him, only to find out too late it was a trap. Another demon screamed as he grabbed an iron chain and pulled it around the casket, encircling Dean and Sam. The other demon managed to get out in time but the Winchesters weren't so lucky, trapped in a circle of iron.

"Evening boys. I was just tiding the place up for your funerals," a man strolled calmly into the room with both hands behind his back, speaking with a familiar accent. His eyes turned white, revealing what Dean already suspected who it was. "Of course you're a little early so you'll have to forgive the décor," Alastair said.

He slowly walked towards the boys in their cage, pulling out shotgun he had behind his back. Dean was starting to get a bad feeling as Alastair aimed his weapon at him and fired. Dean's spectral form felt like it had just been ripped apart as everything went dark. Then he was right back where he was before. It had to have been rock salt and it hurt like a mother.

"Not so much fun to be on the receiving end of rock salt is it?" chuckled Alastair.

"That all you got you son of a bitch?" Dean mocked though that was about all he could do at the moment.

Alastair turned his attention to Sam who was concentrating. "What's a matter hotshot? Your mojo running out of steam?" the demon mocked.

Sam must have been trying to do the same thing he did at the cemetery but it wasn't working. "Hard to get it up when you're not in your meatsuit isn't it?" Alastair laughed.

"Go to hell," spat Sam.

"Oh if only I could," sighed Alastair. "But they just keep on sending me back to this artic craphole."

"To kill Death?" asked Dean.

"No to kill Death twice," answered Alastair. "It takes two to break a seal. I figured another one would show up though. They're like lemmings." He cocked his shotgun and fired another round, this time at Sam. Dean's brother grunted in pain before vanishing then reappearing.

"By the way I've been meaning to ask how's Abby?" smiled Alastair.

"You can shoot us all you want but you can't kill us," Dean mocked.

"I don't need to. Do you know when I was up here in Poland in '43 I use to keep the internal organs of my favorite toys?" asked Alastair. He turned to the two demon henchmen and said, "Find their bodies and bring me their hearts. Kidneys and livers too. They made great Christmas ornaments."

The two were about to leave but Alastair stopped them, the sarcastic expression on his face gone. "And you bring me Abigail Grayson alive. If either one of you two screws this up and gets her killed, I will carve both of you up in Hell for the rest of eternity," he warned them. The two goons nervously nodded and took off.

Dean was horrified. Despite the salt lines and devil traps they set, Bela and Pam were still sitting ducks inside that hotel room. "You touch her and I will hurt you in ways your sick mind can't even imagine," Dean warned.

"Ah so it is true," Alastair smirked. "I heard the two of you were getting cozy but it always struck me as a weirder pairing then Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun. Unless of course Bela is a masochist then it makes perfect sense. You can cuddle up with her every night, save her life a thousand times over, and it will never undue the things you've done to her. You made my work seem like a novice on her."

Then Alastair started singing the playground song K-I-S-S-I-N-G only he changed the lyrics. "Dean has Bela strapped on a rack. C-U-T-T-I-N-G," he sang.

"He really had a dream like that?" Pam laughed after Bela recounted some of her more memorable moments with Winchesters. Specifically when they were in each other's dreams and Bela saw more of the brother's psyche then she ever wanted to see.

"Should have been his first indicator he wasn't such a choir boy. Probably explains why he's seeing a demon," muttered Bela.

"He's what?" Pam asked, certain she heard wrong.

"Oh he's dating a demon with a soul," Bela replied.

"Doesn't that sound a lot like…?" Pam stared to say.

"Yep," Bela nodded, already knowing what she was going to say.

"Did someone turn on the AC?" Pam asked, getting a little chill. Bela agreed, it was starting to get a little cold. Then she felt a slight breeze blowing through the room. A window was open. The problem was the Winchesters made sure all the windows were closed and locked before they went playing in the beyond. Bela quickly grabbed a pistol she had on a nearby counter and headed towards the kitchen where the breeze was originating. Sure enough, the kitchen window was slightly opened. The breeze coming through had blown the salt lines on it away but devil's trap above it was still intact. Bela closed the window and locked it then grabbing a bag of salt and putting another line around it.

She breathed a sigh of relief. If it was a demon that caused this, he probably saw he couldn't get in and decided to back off for the time being. Once Sam and Dean woke back up, they should be able to leave the hotel safely and get out of town. After all if Sam could rip demons apart with his mind, Bela didn't feel she had much to worry about. Her relief faded as she noticed a slight crack in the devil's trap on the ceiling. Problem was Bela swore it wasn't there when she scribbled the symbols.

"Pam!" Bela called out. She rushed back towards the bedroom and ran straight into someone. Before she could even react, the intruder had disarmed her and shoved her against a wall. He grabbed her by the throat and lifted her off the ground. Bela struggled to breathe as her attacker started to squeeze the life out of her. Nearby another man was attacking Pam who was gripping the bed Sam was on, trying her best to wake up him.

"Relax sweetheart. Alastair's wants you alive," Bela's attacker whispered, his eyes turning black. "Doesn't mean we can't have some fun first."

"Anyhoo," Alastair spoke as he headed towards a nearby table that had a sickle on it. "Moon's in the right spot. The board is set," he said as he picked up the weapon. The demon caressed the curved blade like he would a newborn baby.

"Let's get started shall we?" Alastair stated.

Dean tried his best not to laugh. "You're gonna kill a reaper with that? It's a little on the nose don't you think?" he scoffed.

"Is it?" Alastair mockingly sighed. "Oh you have no idea what this even is do you? It's more valuable than your little monkey brain can comprehend."

Dean threw him a look. "That rusty piece of junk?" he asked.

"Mind your manners junior. This little thing is older than the universe itself. Those angelic pricks made some nasty enemies over the eons and one of them lent me this," Alastair explained. What the hell was that supposed to mean? A sickle six billion years old?

"Well time to start the show," Alastair said as he headed over the trapped reapers. He knelt down by one in the appearance of an old man, grabbing the reaper by the head and lifting him up. The reaper regained consciousness, confused as Alastair put the sickle up to its neck. Dean would have never thought anything could scare a reaper but it was absolutely terrified.

Alastair started chanting some strange words, just like the ones he used to weaken Castiel during their last fight. Then the demon sliced through the reaper's head, cutting it off. The reaper's body exploded in a flash of light, nearly blinding Dean as a sudden gust of wind rushed through the room and thunder boomed overhead. Alastair smiled at Dean with a look that said I told you so.

The demon then moved to Tessa, lifting her head up. She regained consciousness and started struggling but Alastair easily held her down. Dean glanced around, looking for anything that could use to throw at the demon then noticed that Sam was focusing on something on the ceiling. Dean realized he was looking at the chandelier above Alastair and Tessa. Maybe with a little ghostly telekinesis, they could drop it and destroy the symbol on the floor that was imprisoning the reaper.

"Stop!" shouted Tessa.

"What's a matter? Afraid now that you're the one about to reaped?" Alastair mocked. The demon started the chant up again as the Winchesters focused on the chandelier.

Bela knew there were only two certainties of what would happen next. She was either going to fight back and wake up the Winchesters to save them or she'll die trying. She wasn't going to fail them and she damn sure wasn't going to be taken alive by Alastair. Bela may have lost her pistol but that didn't mean she was helpless. Her attacker didn't search her and thought he had complete control of the situation. Too bad he didn't know his victim had Ruby's demon knife in her pocket. Bela drew the knife and stabbed the demon in the neck. He gasped, his eyes and face flashed as he died.

Pam's attacker slammed her against the wall opposite of Bela and pulled a knife, stabbing the psychic in the stomach. Bela hurled Ruby's knife directly into the demon's back. He cried out in pain, dropping Pam as he dropped to his knees. It wasn't a killing blow but it knocked him out of action long enough for Bela to rush over Sam and shouted, "You have a great ass!"

Alastair was about to finish the chant as Tessa looked at Dean with sorrowful eyes. He however wasn't about to give up just yet. The chandelier was starting to shake as its chain support cracked. Just a little more.

"You have no idea what you're doing," Tessa told Alastair. "The demons can't win against Heaven even with Lucifer freed."

"Who says demons are the only ones fighting against Heaven?" chuckled Alastair. Dean saw what Tessa was doing. She was distracting him and it was just long enough for the Winchesters to do something. The chandelier's support chain snapped and it collapsed to the floor, landing on the side of the reaper imprisoning symbol. And just like a crack in a devil's trap, it rendered it useless.

Tessa teleported away. Alastair glanced around, confused and infuriated. Tessa reappeared next to Sam and Dean, unlocking the circular chain trap and releasing the Winchesters. "Bye bye," mocked Dean before they teleported away.

Bela couldn't be happier when Sam woke up. The demon was getting back to his feet and pulled Ruby's knife out of his back. Sam realized what was going on and sent the demon flying into a wall telekinetically. With a little focus, the demon was forcibly exorcised from its host. The poor man left behind slumped to the ground unconscious. Sam instantly raced to an injured Pamela while Bela checked on the former host. He was alive and the stab wound strangely wasn't even bleeding. Guess the reapers were still on involuntary strike.

Pamela started laughing. "If I'm gonna be stabbed then at least it was in this town," she chuckled.

"Did you do it? Did you stop Alastair?" Bela asked Sam.

"Yeah. The reaper is free," he nodded.

"Then we need to get both of them to a hospital right away before Pleasantville starts getting color," Bela said before heading over to Dean.

"You're an idiot," a voice whispered to Dean. One second he was searching for Sam, the next he was back in the hotel room waking up in his own body.

"Next time chose something dirtier to say," Dean muttered as he sat up. His sarcasm quickly vanished when he saw Pam doubled out clenching her chest and two other people were completely motionless.

"Demons. One's dead and Sam exorcised the other but I'm pretty sure he won't make it if we don't get to a hospital," Bela explained.

"Can someone pour me a drink?" moaned Pamela.

"Pam you need to get to a doctor now," Sam explained as he got her to her feet. "People in this town are going to start dying again any second."

"Bloody hell why do all good things come to an end?" Bela complained. Dean grabbed the unconscious man with a stab wound in his back and hauled him onto his shoulders. Why'd the demons have to pick someone heavy to possess? Sam and Pam were out the door first with Bela and Dean right behind them. If anybody saw them, they'd just laugh it off as their friend having drunk too much.

Dean was grumbling once they hit the parking lot but thankfully no one was in sight. Sam and Pam were almost near the Impala when suddenly a gunshot rang out. Sam was knocked off his feet as he and Pamela both dropped. "No!" Dean shouted, dropping the former host on his shoulders and rushing over to his brother. Sam was hit in the shoulder and bleeding.

"All that power in those veins of his…" Alastair emerged hiding from behind a vehicle holding a shotgun. "…but they don't do much good against buck shot. Hmm, my aim's a little off." Dean and Bela exchanged a worried look. Their guns weren't going to do them much good and even if they did run, Alastair could pick them off.

"Well you know what they say," Alastair said as he aimed his gun at Dean. "Practice makes perfect."

He fired a round and Dean half expected that would be the end of it all. Except someone suddenly appeared in front of him, taking the bullets instead. The familiar man didn't even stagger from the buckshot. It was Castiel, Dean could recognize that trench coat anywhere. It was about that angel showed up when he was actually needed.

"Cas?" Dean asked.

The angel turned and said, "Hello Dean."

"Should've known you holier than thou art party poopers would spoil my fun," grumbled Alastair. Castiel turned around and approached the demon. "You sure you ready for a rematch kiddo? Round 1 didn't exactly end on a high note for ya," Alastair mocked as he tossed his weapon aside.

"I am an angel of God. I am part of a family and when you are in a family, you never fight alone," Castiel said defiantly.

Balthazar, Adriel, and Uriel suddenly teleported around the demon. They all grabbed him and started pounding away. For the first time since Dean met Alastair, the demon was getting his ass handed to him. He might be a match for one angel but not four. Castiel joined in the fight and the demon was now getting manhandled. Alastair was finally started to show fatigue and wasn't able to defend himself as Balthazar and Uriel restrained him. Castiel touched the demon's head and started smiting him. Alastair screamed in pain as his eyes and mouth lite up like stars. Then Castiel released him and the demon slumped, either unconscious or dead.

"We'll handle it from here," Uriel spoke before him and Balthazar teleported away with Alastair.

Castiel teleported beside Dean, catching him slightly by surprise. "Congratulations Dean. You, Sam, and Bela saved a seal none of us thought we could save and we've captured Alastair. This has been one of the greatest victories of the war," the angel said.

"You were here the whole time?" snapped Dean.

"Enough of it but we were unable to intervene. The symbols the demons put on the building prevented us from entering them," Castiel explained.

"Yeah Anna already explained that," Bela muttered.

Castiel glared at him, "She is not to be trusted."

"Well if it wasn't for her we wouldn't have gotten here in time," argued Dean. Castiel teleported away as Dean glanced over to Sam to see Adriel kneeling down and touching him on the shoulder. Instantly his wounds were healed.

"Thank you," Sam nodded to her. Adriel said nothing as she stood back up, his face unreadable.

"Wait a second. Does everyone in this town start dying again?" Dean asked.

"Yes," Adriel replied.

"These are good people," snapped Dean. "Can't you make a few exceptions?"

"No," Adriel stated bluntly.

"You made exceptions for me and Dean plus you just healed Sam," argued Bela.

"You three are useful," Adriel stated. Dean was starting to get why Heaven kept sending Castiel to communicate with him. His three siblings were complete dicks. Not that he wasn't at times but at least he tried not to be.

"You sons of bitches," Pam cursed. "You act all high and mighty and yet we lowly humans are the ones actually fighting here in the dirt."

Adriel turned to her and approached her. "You blame us for the loss of your eyes. You brought that on yourself. Castiel warned you not to not look upon him with your magic," she said.

The word magic might as well mean filth from the way she pronounced it. Pamela gasped as she started coughing up blood. Looks like death was back in effect in town. Sam and Dean rushed towards her and tried their best to stop the bleeding. But she was coughing up blood and that wasn't good. The demon must have hit some of her internal organs.

"Help her!" Dean shouted. Adriel glared at him, not moving an inch.

"You can heal her. If it wasn't for her Sam and Dean wouldn't have been able to stop Alastair," Bela said.

"Please," Sam pleaded. Adriel didn't say a word, obviously in thought. Then she reached down and touched Pamela's forehead. Instantly healing her chest wounds but something else happened. Pamela's eyes changed, the whiteness was gone as irises and corneas reformed.

"I…I can see," Pam whispered, almost in tears. She glanced up at the angel and said, "Thank you."

"We reward those who assist us," Adriel stated with a tone that indicated Pam's gratitude didn't move or even seem to interest her. "Take care with how you use your magic from now."

"What about the other guy? The man the demon possessed. He was stabbed in the back," Dean asked.

"I'm not a wishing well!" Adriel snapped.

"Then why are you still here?" asked Bela.

"I volunteered to make sure all of you were uninjured and to heal you if necessary. I have more important tasks then playing wet nurse every time one of you apes stubs your toes!" Adriel growled.

"Wet nurse? She's a little behind the times," Bela whispered to Dean.

"Look we're not asking much. Just help him and that's it. We won't ask you to help anyone else," Sam said, trying to calm her down.

Adriel glared at him then sighed, rolling her eyes. "Fine," she grumbled. She teleported next to the former demonic meat suit and knelt down, touching his back. "Done and so is this conversation," Adriel said then teleported away.

Pamela was ecstatic and insisted the four of them go out drinking together. Bela understood the feeling, she felt the exact way the moment she realized she was free from Hell. The four drove a few towns over to celebrate in case there were any demons still lurking around. Pamela took shot after shot with Bela and Dean making sure she didn't go overboard while Sam decided to get some extra cash by beating the local pool sharks.

"I called it. That man does have a great ass," Pamela chuckled as she watched Sam leaning over the pool table to make a shot.

"Well thanks Pam. We couldn't have done this with you," Dean said.

"I should be the ones thanking you. If it hadn't been for you Bela, those demons would have killed. I heard you fighting," Pam replied.

Dean looked at Bela who simply shrugged. "Well who else is going to tell me who's going to win the Superbowl?" Bela chuckled.

"Sorry honey but it doesn't work like that. If it did, I would have already won the lottery twice by now," Pam admitted. "And if you and Sam hadn't called me, I wouldn't have gotten stabbed and had the angel healed me."

Pam grabbed another cup and held it up. "To the angels. Not all of them are dicks," she toasted.

"Cheers," agreed Dean before the three downed another set of shots. Bela could hear the man's cell phone going off as they finished. Dean pulled it out and frowned when he saw the text on screen. Bela leaned over and read the words Thank You that were sent by someone named Tessa.

"Who's that?" Bela asked, masking the jealousy she was feeling.

"The reaper we saved," Dean remarked as he put his phone away.

"You know what's really funny? Sam's got the hots for a demon and that angel who healed me has the hots for him. That has got to be the weirdest love triangle I've ever heard of," chuckled Pamela.

"Okay you're drunk," remarked Dean.

"C'mon Dean. She only healed me and the other guy after Sam asked her to," Pam insisted.

"Why can't he just have a normal girlfriend?" Bela chuckled.

"Pam believe me. That angel doesn't have the hots for anything human. She's a…not complete dick but still a dick," Dean explained.

"Whatever you say," Pam smirked.

Bela's phone rang. She pulled it out to see it was Doctor Raines. "Excuse me. I need to take this," she said before heading outside.

"Hello doctor," Bela answered.

"Miss Karloff I received your message earlier and it's fine. I trust your family member is alright?" asked Raines. Bela made up an excuse while she disappeared from the woman's office, saying she had a family emergency.

"Yes thank you for asking. I just wanted you to I will make our next appointment and I'll be completely honest with you," Bela explained.

"I'm glad to hear that. May I ask what changed your mind?" asked Raines.

"I'm out celebrating with some friends and I realized I'm happier than I've been in a long time," Bela replied.

"That's great Mary," Raines stated. "How does next Wednesday sound?"

"Sounds perfect,' answered Bela.

"I'll see you then. Have fun, doctor's orders," joked Raines.

"I'll do my best. Goodbye," Bela said before hanging up. Raines set down the phone and breathed a sigh of relief. The intruder in her apartment loomed over her, ready to kill her the second he heard something he didn't like.

"It's done. Abigail Grayson's starting to open up to me," Raines tried to explain.

"Good. I need her ready," the man spoke to her. Though perhaps man wasn't appropriate term. Raines knew he wasn't human. She didn't know what he was. The things he could do surpassed any other creature or entity she's ever encountered.

"I will make sure she's ready. I swear it," pleaded Raines.

"You better or I'll send you right back to Purgatory," he warned before disappearing.

(There's no typo in that last sentence. Raines is from Purgatory as to what she is and what brought her back is I'll let you speculate. I also let some important little details slip that will be important down the road about Ariel controlling Avalon and Alastair mentioning that there were more then just demons who hated the angels. Next chapter Dean is assigned by the angels to torture Alastair and gets some earth shattering revelations. Hoped you enjoyed it and please review.)
