It had been a couple of days now and their captain was still showing no sign of waking up. Fortunately, his temperature had gone down, though, it was probably only temporary. Cece was sure they were in the right location for the next vortex to Beru though she didn't know when it would appear so they just had to wait patiently.

The ship just seemed so quiet without the captain. Even Clovis' mood had been dampened by the whole affair. The atmosphere of the sea of Vapir wasn't helping anything.

"Check mate," claimed Cece as she moved her rook cornering Crogar's king.

"Does that mean Crogar lost?"

"Yes sorry Crogar, I am sure you will beat me next time," said the First Mate trying to encourage her friend.

"Crogar no good and game of tiny pieces," sighed Crogar.

"It doesn't matter whether you are good or not," chimed in Curamba "Cece is a tough opponent."

"Why thank you Curamba."

"Hey!" Curamba and Crogar both staggered back as they were startled by the boy ghost suddenly appearing in their midst. "Something is wrong with Zak!...I mean aside from what was already wrong with him."

The game forgotten everyone rushed to their captain's room.

Clovis was right. Zak's fever had returned. What was most concerning though was the sound coming from his chest. It was making a wheezing sound as though he was struggling to get enough air.

"Zak!" cried Cece rushing over to her captain. She grabbed the cloth from the bucket beside his bed and began dabbing his for head. What should she do?

"He has mucus build up in his lungs," stated Curamba after examining him. "Don't worry we just need to get him to cough it up. Crogar I need you to go and boil some water." Curamba then turned Zak on his side to try and help him breathe easier.

After what seemed like hours though really was only about 30 – 40 minutes Zak was finally starting to breathe easier thanks to Curamba's administrations.

By this time night had begun to fall. The crew settled in for the night. Cece chose to stay with her captain as she wanted to be there if he needed her. As there was enough room she squeezed in next to him on his bed. She kept her eyes on his face for some time before they began to get to heavy and closed.

It was late into the night when the Chaos gave a grown waking everyone up as it has spotted something in the mist….

I would appreciate hearing what you think.

P.S. I have no medical training so please forgive me if I make any mistakes in that area. :)
