And here's the long awaited finale you all been waiting for!
Oh and just for those who were confused at the ending of the last chapter, mitt hjerte means 'my heart' in Norwegian. I just think deep down, despite everything that has happen, a part of Elsa, however small and deeply buried, still genuinely cares, and, maybe, even still loves, Hans. She simply moved on. Moved on, but not forgotten. I think it gives a sort of touching sentiment to the ending overall.
Well, here we go with it!
It never had occurred to him, how much he had taken most things, both little and small, in his life, for granted. Little things like this view, for instance, with how the sun-setting cast a gorgeous glow over the forest for as far as this shady little hilltop would allow him to see. His father's castle and its town, a much more favorable distance away, outlined by the red, orange and yellow light magnificently, almost like something out of a dream from this angle. He had never believed in all his time up to now, he would look at the looming structure was, in birth-right, all his, and still, wanted nothing to do with it.
Once, he supposed, there might've been time, had he learned the truth sooner and had returned earlier, things with his father could've been different and he could've grown to find a home in the cold stone palace. Yet, he just couldn't picture it, not fully. At the same time, he had to wonder what had been so alluring about the place and its lifestyle that had drawn his attention like it had before and with his father before him, perhaps it had been his lack of experience with the darker side of the world around him. Maybe he just got lucky, that it didn't have the time to fester in him like it had with his father.
Twin rumblings, reminiscent of thunder and movement of the zippleback rising its identical heads rouse the young prince from his musings just as one nudged him in the side as carefully as possible. He looked down the hill path where the other head was staring in time to see Hicca hiking up its winding path towards him, Snotlout trailing a bit behind her, holding Toothless' reign, clearly more wary of the two-headed beast that was resting than she or Tuffnut was.
Both cousins had donned new clothes for the occasion today, heck, even Toothless was wearing a brand new emerald green saddle and bridle. Snotlout wore a new crimson tunic and smoothed black trousers that disappeared into a pair of wine-red leather boots, a thick red jacket over top.
But it was the female cousin that took the blonde's breath away; hair up in a curled ponytail and sea-green ribbon, showing off her head-ring, an off-shoulder, modest-cut gown that was a gorgeous shade of Spring-time green with long, billowy sleeves, the skirt having a fine, almost sheer layer of baby pink lace over-top with flower-patterns woven into it, a matching dress coat over top. Her only jewelry apart from her crown was a simple emerald stone hanging off a silver chain with matching earrings. She was, in a simple, but sincere way, beautiful.
He was once again, snapped out of it, but this time, by said princess asking, almost breathless, "Has she done it yet?"
"No," Tuffnut smiled as he stood, the zippleback rising with him, "Not yet."
"Elsa brought down her walls of ice and took off her crown."
Much had changed since his father's passing. He knew Elsa wouldn't hide it from him nor would she sugar-coat it and he wasn't afraid to admit, it had stung, no, stung was putting it mildly. It hurt to know his father was gone after only knowing him for not even a fraction of a day and not getting the real chance to know him as the boy his mother finally revealed to know from her childhood. Yet, he couldn't fully bring himself to hold it against her, having seen what Hans' obsession had done to him both inside and out.
It took a good few days after hiding in an abandoned cottage, mostly convincing more a frantic and understandably paranoid Kristoff that he had to speak with his father's, now his, he supposed, advisers. It had taken much work and he was a little guilty to say he may have...persuaded (*cough*intimidated*cough*) them with a little magic of his own and a cold, indifferent glare that would've made Elsa proud had she been there, to convince them Elsa was pardoned of whatever crimes his father had her branded for and to forge alliances with the Moors and leaving the natural magic inside alone.
"Look!" Snotlout exclaimed, "There she goes!"
Sure enough, from this spot on the hill, they could see Elsa gliding easily through the sky as she melted her walls of ice, destroying the protective boarder between the Moors and the human world.
"She invited Tuffnut and his new friends to the Moors, to see how it had once been, when Elsa was but a small child and her heart was light. For now, it was again."
The effect was immediate as whatever spell that had trapped the Moors in their eternal winter...was lifted. The trolls, the goblins, the giants, the different fairies, everyone had stopped whatever they had been doing to watch with awe. All around them, gravity seemed to reverse, causing the snow on the ground to float into the air, slowly at first, grain by grain, until it was flying up in flurries. All around, ice shattered away like broken glass, the shards also flying up to the sky and snow was whisked away, even Elsa's throne was reduced to nothing, even the states the fairies had taken to protect themselves from the cold was lifted, reverting them back to normal. Everywhere, beautiful green grass was springing up, reaching for the warm sunlight as the once barren trees seemed to zing to lift with vibrant brown bark, deep green leaves, moss growing like wildfire over almost every trunk and fallen log. Flowers sprung to life, shaking away the frost, mushrooms shot up and the waterfalls burst free.
The three humans and horse were in complete awe off the transformation as winter literally transformed into spring right before their eyes. Soon, all eyes were drawn up to the sky where Elsa, with a smile on her face, was rising her hands, guiding every grain of snow and shard of ice, slowly forming a humongous snowflake pattern in the sky until her hands pressed together. For a few seconds, everyone watched with baited breath...until Elsa shot her hands apart. Instantly, the snowflake burst into blue twinkling lights that fell to the ground harmlessly. Within seconds, all the Moors was in cheers.
"But that...was not all..."
Removing their coats, the two humans joined the gathered crowd of magical creatures and fairies at base of the giant tree where Elsa's throne once stood. Elsa herself once again donned her hair in the traditional crown-twist bun for the occasion, her dress being white as snow with a layered skirt, the top layer being white and the bottom being a shimmering icy blue, the sleeves being off one shoulder and covering the other and faded into a billowing sleeve of hallow-patterned lace of white, a necklace of ice adorned her neck giving an elegant flair for the occasion.
Next to her on the rock dais where her throne once stood Kristoff, in his human form, dressed in a simple white tunic with wrist-long, loose sleeves, amber-brown trousers and black boots. His belt was a dark blue dyed leather and he wore a matching pair of gloves.
Both older blondes looked every bit the proud parents they had every right to be as they watched the zippleback and naddar pull back their wings, revealing Tuffnut to the crowd, donned in the outfit Kristoff had helped his 'aunties' put together for his birthday. The teal jacket and black trousers were striking against his pale complexion and white hair, the gold trimming not too over the top, but just right for his status as a prince. The long magenta colored cape added a certain flair either blonde or cousin couldn't quite place and pinning it to his jacket collar was a shining black pin that had his grandfather's crocus symbol on it. He had tossed the gloves without a care, no longer afraid of himself.
Kristoff quickly brushed a tear away as his nephew made his way up the trail that the crowd parted for him and up the stone steps, a group of water dancers carrying the end of his cape. Once there, Tuffnut gave his mother a smile that rivaled the sun in warmth and Elsa smiled back.
Not a moment later, three familiar figures were seen flying towards the dais, making Kristoff roll his eyes and shake his head as Astrid's voice cut over the serenity of the moment like a hot knife through soft butter, clearly agitated, "Hurry up, we're late!"
Tuffnut just smiled with a much more good-hearted shake of his head as Ruffnut protested loudly, "Don't fly so fast!"
"Careful!" Anna fretted flushing at the looks they received from other creatures, "Don't drop it!"
When the three settled into hovering before the three blondes, they revealed what they had been carrying. It was a gorgeous head-ring, thicker than Hicca's, but less extravagant or over the top compared to Hans' crown. Made of finely carved silver that Snotlout had crafted himself to resemble tree branches, complete with little leaves with dark blue gems placed ingenuously between the branches, framed by said leaves, each gem was cut in a shape similar to a perfect oval save the once in the middle, which had been shaped into a perfect crescent moon.
"We present this crown for our dearest Tuffnut!" Astrid said as they handed it to Elsa, "For whom we sacrificed the best years of our-" She was cut off by a sharp jab to the ribs by Anna, which was when the eldest of the three noticed the pointed, stern look Elsa was fixing her, causing her to flinch back and quickly say, "N-Never mind!"
Elsa rolled her eyes at this before fixing her attention on her son. Her son. How wonderful the words were to just think.
She couldn't help another smile, however small, love filling her eyes as she whispered so only he would hear, "I'm so proud of you..." Tuffnut's heart soared at these words, words he had wanted to hear for so long.
He bowed his head, allowing Elsa to gently place the ring of silver on his head as she said, this time as to be heard by all, "Our kingdom's have been unified..." She then called out over the crowd, "You have your king!" From the far back, every dragon, dozens of nadarrs, zipplebacks, grunkles and others, released joyous roars, stomping the ground in time to the other creatures' cheering as the giants made of trees knelt down in their bows and banging the ends of their spears into the ground.
Tuffnut smiled as he turned to the crowd, eyes searching automatically for a pair of emerald eyes framed by auburn hair. No sooner did he find her, he was met with the most brilliant smile he had ever seen as she clapped just as enthusiastically as the rest as Snotlout clapped at a more tamed pace and Toothless continuously slammed his hooves into the ground in his own cheering. No sooner did she realize she had his attention, Hicca's smile grew warmth as she waved, cheeks pinking.
Tuffnut flushed in response, smiling and giving a little wave back. This caused Elsa and Kristoff to share an amused smile, as did the pixies.
"So you see, the story is not quite as you were told, and I should know, for I am the one they later called the Sleeping Viking."
But then that smile turned into a gasp of awed-shock, prompting Tuffnut to turn around to see a new throne being formed, this time by the giants. This throne was forged from long, thick roots of the tree folding and mending to make the seat and arm rest, the trunk making the back rest as moss grew to make it more comfortable.
Moments later, Elsa and Kristoff were sitting atop a hill, watching as the creatures and fairies below celebrated their crowning of their new king. Tuffnut and Hicca had even ended up dancing together to the loud, wild music the trolls and goblins were playing on their nature-based instruments and Snotlout was relaxing and enjoying conversation with other creatures, the pixies doing the same.
Elsa glanced over at Kristoff after seeing Anna start talking to a goblin male, clearly at ease in the conversation they were having. She watched his reaction, knowing he could see the interaction perfectly from this angle and how he always kept her in his sight assured her he would spy it sooner or later. Yet, instead of spying a sign of any sort of jealousy or anger of any sort; he was the picture of calm and peace, a strange acceptance in his eyes as he watched the celebration play out before them.
"Go to her," Elsa suddenly found herself saying in her ever present display of indifference. Kristoff blinked out of his moment of inner thought and looked at her, tone colored with surprise and uncertainty, "Excuse me?"
"You're pixie," Elsa indicated with her head to Anna, who was stunning in her dandelion yellow dress with its soft, mint-green accents, laughing at whatever joke the goblin just made, "You should go to her before you lose her to a goblin or a troll."
Kristoff just looked at her for a long moment before asking, "What makes you think I would want to steal her away? What even makes you think she's my pixie?"
Now it was Elsa's turn to blink, only to then suddenly flush a little. "I just assumed..." She tried to play it off, "You spent so much time with her before..." Kristoff stared at her a moment longer, before giving a smile.
"Now why would I want a pixie..." Kristoff said his hand finding hers and gave a gentle squeeze, "When I already have a the most wonderful fairy?"
Elsa gasped, completely taken off guard as she whipped her head around to look at him. But before she got the chance to respond, Kristoff took his chances and leaned in, pressing his warm lips against her chilled ones. Elsa's eyes widened further before finding herself melting against him as she slowly pressed back, eyes fluttering closed as she felt what she could only describe as a flame course throughout her entire body. Only this flame didn't hurt her, instead, it set every nerve and pore alight with the most...wonderful...feeling.
A similar feeling was ignited in Kristoff as well. It was more intense than when he was a dragon, yet more pleasant at the same time, like he was lighter than any feather.
His arms soon found themselves around his mistress' waist as Elsa lean up, causing him to lean back, but they ended up leaning too far, cause next thing Kristoff knew, he was on his back as they continued to kiss. Elsa's wings opened up on instinct and when they pulled away, Kristoff felt his breath get taken away. At this angle, Elsa's wings had blocked out everything but a single ray of sunlight, which lit up around her head creating a halo effect, which only heightened when he realized her had somehow gotten free of its bun. To him, in that one moment, she couldn't have looked anymore like a real angel.
Elsa blushed heavily at his intense stare and had started, "Wha-?" But squeaked in surprise when he pulled her into another kiss.
"In the end, the kingdom wasn't unified by either villain or hero, as legend foretold, but rather, by someone who was both hero villain."
00000000000(Bonus Time!: Time Skip a Few Years)0000000000000
The Moors was just as beautiful during the autumn season. All the trees were filled with leaves of yellow, orange, red or brown. Not matter how many leaves you'd find on the ground there would always be many still in the trees.
But Kristoff couldn't even try to find the time to appreciate the beauty at the moment. He was much too busy pacing a hole in the ground. He was outside the sacred cave where fairies and other such creatures were brought whenever they were in need of healing, the reason he couldn't have been more nervous. Just inside, his wife, his mistress, his mate, was going through who knew what kind of pain and there was no guarantee, for all her greatness, that she would pull through all right.
Sitting on a boulder nearby was Snotlout, who had gain considerable height over the years, cradling a precious bundle swaddled in a blue blanket. "Kristoff, you have to-" Snotlout started to say.
"Snotlout, I swear, if you tell me to calm down one more time," Kristoff warned nerves clearly shot, "I will peck your eye out and I won't care if Cedric's watching." Over the years, he learned how to shift between any of his forms on his own whim, but he couldn't take a new form unless Elsa created it for him.
"Actually, I was going to tell you to stop before you tripped on the trench you paced out," Snotlout replied not the lease bit fazed at getting snapped at, well used to it from his cousin, especially lately, "But glad to know you'd commit gore in front of a baby."
Said infant started to fuss a little, prompting Snotlout to pull the blanket back so he could check if his now six month old son. Cedric defiantly took after his father with his wisps of raven black hair, but he had his mother's ocean blue eyes.
Before Kristoff could retort, the crunching of leaves beneath feet caused him to wipe around, only to almost flop to the ground to see a heavily pregnant Queen Hicca appear from around the corner of the cave that led to a path that towards the Pool of Jewels. She took one look at Kristoff and just said, "Still nothing?"
"Apparently its different for fairies compared to humans, Hic," Snotlout informed as he rocked his son carefully, "Why do you think children are so rare in the Moors?"
"Still," Hicca shook her head. At this moment, King Tuffnut appeared, asking, "How is she?" He was carrying a little girl who was easily no older than three-years-old with Tuffnut's pale skin and silver eyes, but Hicca's auburn hair with tips of his white blonde at her little braid and bangs, wearing a baby blue dress.
Before Kristoff could snap again, a loud eruption of cheers suddenly sounded from the cave, getting everyone's attention as a group of fairies emerged dancing and spinning in the air with joy, followed by a group of trolls, who were singing in a language they couldn't understand as they watched in anticipation. Well, except Cedric, who was just confused.
Finally, an elderly goblin emerged from the curtain-like display of vines that had been shielding the inside of the cave from them. He was carrying a bundle wrapped in a butter-yellow blanket. Kristoff swore his heart stopped the moment his eyes laid on it.
At that moment, a certain trio appeared. "Hurry, we're going to-!" Astrid started as they zipped through the air, landing on the ground as they changed back to human size, which was when they noticed the bundle. "Ah, no!" Ruffnut complained, "We missed it!" She frowned at Anna, "I knew we shouldn't have stopped for those stupid things!"
Anna smiled sheepishly, clutching the basket of flowers they had collected on the way here tighter and closer to her chest, "Well, we had to bring something didn't we, I mean, Elsa and Kristoff brought those sweets when Cedric was born." Astrid rolled her eyes at this, her annoyance turning into a soft, loving smile as she took her son from his father, pressing a quick kiss to Snotlout's cheek.
"Papa. what that?" The little girl asked curiously as Kristoff hesitantly took the bundle from the goblin, who smiled at him. Hicca and Tuffnut shared a smile, though Tuffnut's was more warm and almost blinding at the new arrival as he handed his daughter to her mother, but the girl was still curious as she asked, "Mama, why Unkle Birdie sad?"
"Not sad, love," Hicca gently corrected as they moved for a closer look, "Very, very happy."
"Heather," Tuffnut smiled as Kristoff cradled his new child close, allowing his curious family to see, "Meet your new uncle..."
Little Heather gasped in awe at the small infant, "He's smaller than Ceddy!" Cedric gave his own inquisitive coo, leaning to see, making the adults laugh.
Within her resting chamber inside the cave, Elsa smiled lovingly as Kristoff laid down next to, smiling as well as he held her close, watching as she gently cradled and rocked their new son to sleep. He had his father's golden hair and his mother's beautiful electric blue eyes and to both his parents, he was perfect. Everything was perfect now.
"And her name...was Elsa!"
THE END
DONE! How's that for an ending? I just had to expand a bit more on the Maleficent ending I think they could've done better with it. Sorry KristoffxAnna fans but that kiss sealed the deal.
And to expand on the next crossover I'll be doing a bit later on, probably during the summer, yes, it is going to be the, not so new anymore, new Cinderella movie and no, I haven't made up my mind with the cast, well, not entirely, but I'm not spoiling!
Now, to Sammael29: There is no harm whatsoever to taking a hiatus from anything really, everyone needs a break, especially where school's involved in my case, I can't wait to read one of your works and I hope you like this writing cause it was a lot of fun to write even if it may have been a little less, you know, grand and spectacular like the movie's ending. Anyways, tell me what you think in your next review and if you have any suggestions for the cast of Cinderella(or fella, I still haven't made up my mind on that yet).
And, of course, to MuseSwan: That little bonus part was for you, how's THAT for confirmation? I really hope you like the ending, nothing too big, but I hope I didn't make it too plain either. Yes, I paired Tuff and Hic in the end, I just had too, and yes, the little girl is their's and I named her after Heather, I did make her Tuffnut's birth mother, it seemed like a suitable sentiment. I just know your probably squealing or something after reading the KristoffxElsa bits, so I'm guessing I'm going to get a review from you soon enough, so let me know how I did wrapping this up and if you have any suggestions for the cast of Cinderella(or fella, still can't make up my mind).
Anyways, hope to hear from you guys soon and I guess I'll be seeing you for the next one come summer!
Till then everyone!
