The applicants listened to Mr. Beans telling them that they must reach to the bottom of the tower within 72 hours. The airship left and the applicants start to try to figure how to get into the tower.
Amaris noticed the man is scaling down the wall and heard the wings flipping to see the human-headed bird monsters are flying toward the man and ate him up. Amaris made a face and Kei shuddered at the sight of the man being eaten alive.
"So climbing down the tower is out." Amaris muttered.
Kurapika and Leorio noticed people were decreasing meaning they had found the hidden trap doors which why they did the same thing when the other people were not looking. They heard Gon is calling to them.
Gon and Killua told them that they saw the person is opening the trap door which Amaris nodded silently in agreement. They found the six trap doors and they went through the trap doors at the same time as they did the countdown.
Amaris landed on his feet with Kei did the same thing. He stiffened when he felt the familiar bloodlust and turned his head to see it is Hisoka sitting over there by the stone door. Right eyebrow twitched in annoyance as he let out a stream of rather creative curses and his rather acidic tongue.
"Damn it!" Amaris cursed angrily as he glared at Hisoka with the mix of annoyance and angry expression on his face. "I am so going to get myself a treat after all of this shit."
Amaris noticed there was a small stand with the wristwatch on it with the speaker above on the wall. He took the wristwatch off the stand and put it on. His inner troll cackled at the thought of the causing chaos. The applicants, examiners, prisoners, and hidden people shuddered at the feeling of doom washed over them.
"I wondered if someone is being an idiot by doing that shitty exam but again I am always am surrounded by the idiots." Amaris snarked.
Kei snorted in amusement as they both felt very irritating aura coming from the examiner by his words. Amaris flashed his fangs, knowing there is a camera hidden in the stone wall. He let out an insane cackle which he got that from her Black grandmother from his father's parental side of family that have madness in the bloodline as Amaris doesn't know it yet.
The speaker crackled to life as the male's voice came through the speaker.
"My name is Lippo and I am your examiner." The older male called Lippo spoke. "As you both can see you have the wristwatch that tell you the countdown. You have to pass the exam. Good luck!"
Amaris's eyebrow twitched in annoyance as the stone door slid open upwards as he followed Hisoka from behind. Kei staying close to Amaris as the door slid close. They walk through the lit hallway by the torches. Amaris took out the magic book written in his mother tongue to read while being guided by Kei by holding to the scruff of his neck.
They came to a stop at the stone door and it slid open to reveal the darkened room. Amaris's and Kei's noses twitched at the scent of another person in the room. Amaris noticed the person was sitting on the floor. The candles lit up in a green fire on the stairs, revealing the blue-haired male. Amaris crouched down and leap to land on the high portion of the stairs to stay out of the fight. Kei followed him as well. He sat down to continue to read his book while listening to the conversation. The sounds of the blades whistling and fighting which he ignored along with the smell of the blood in the air.
Amaris closed the book as Hisoka slashed Togari's neck off and the candles' lit wicks are lit out. His eyes adjusted to the darkness as he leapt down and walked around the body.
The door slid open, leading to another hallway. Hisoka was surprised by the way Amaris ignored the sliced head and the body with a neutral expression on his face like he have seen like that before. They walked down the hallway and stopped in front of the door, sliding open to reveal the mat in the middle of the room.
There was a male sitting on the other side of the mat. Amaris stiffened in shock to see the familiar face from the old times.
The man in his early twenties has dark gray hair in a buzz cut, light tanned skin, light blue eyes, and is dressed in torn martial arts outfit in colors of dark silver and white. His sword is on his back. His name is Jareth, a former knight of the small country who committed the crimes against the royalty and was sent to the Trick Tower for imprisonment.
Amaris set down her bag and took out her sword. The sheath is black and covered with the planetary symbols. The hilt is white with the moon charm attached to the top of the hilt. He stepped into the mat with the calm expression on his face as he stared into the light blue eyes.
"It's been a while, isn't it, Jareth." Amaris spoke in an old tongue with a faint smirk. "But we have a huge problem.
Jareth perked up as he looked closer at the familiar face and his eyebrows shot up in surprise.
"I see you are a boy but yet your aura screamed that you're a girl." Jareth replied in same tongue. "Why is that and what's your name in the new time?"
"Name is Amaris. She is back with a one hell of vengeance on her mind as well the host of Chaos." Amaris replied. "I am Metamorphmagus. Got it thorough my adopted father's side of the family."
Eyebrows shot up in surprise as the frown appeared on his face.
"That's not good." Jareth replied. "Did she get the other Knights who was protecting the Earth as well?"
"Yes. My family tried to find them and nothing pops up at all." Amaris said with anger in his voice as they circled around, watching for the sign of attacking. "They had a bad feeling that she has gotten to them early before they do."
"Fuck!" Jareth swore. "We will talk later, yes?"
Amaris nodded. He and Jareth clashed each other, swords met as the metals sparked. Amaris leapt back as he dodged the swing from Jareth and did the feint which he fell for it. Amaris landed on his back, holding his sword to Jareth's neck. A smirk spread across his face.
"Do you yield, Jareth?" Amaris spoke softly in old tongue.
Jareth sheathed his sword as he stand up as Amaris got off him and faced the black-haired boy.
"I yield." Jareth replied.
He held his hand out for a handshake which Amaris accepted. They shook their hands as the door slid open. Amaris and Hisoka left the arena. Jareth smirked as old magic appeared around him and put the moon symbol on his left shoulder.
He casted the spell which disrupted the surveillance system and disappeared from the tower which Lippo could curse at how one of his prisoner managed to disappear after he restored the system later.
Amaris and Hisoka end up being in a tie for first place as they show up in the large empty room. Amaris sat down far away from him. He grabbed the dog bowl and pile it with the raw meat he got from the second Phase and hand it to Kei along with the water bowl.
