About sunhigh, several cats walked out into the clearing, their heads down in respect. Blackness covered the sky as a soft drizzle started to fall on the saddened cats. Circling the body in the clearing was cats of all ages, from kit to elder, and even the leader was paying special respect for the cat in the clearing. Dreary eyed, a pure black she-cat stepped forward, putting a flower down on the body.
"Every cat here has witnessed Flashspark's bravery for the clan, so this flower, the only flower that has lasted through the harsh Leaf-bare, will lead him to Starclan." Following this soft call to the clan, all cats in the circle dipped their heads and sat, saddened by the lost of Flashspark." Gray clouds covered the sky, but soon they started to lighten up and a ray of sunlight hit the body of the fallen cat, almost like that was when he was going to Starclan, the flower placed on his body.
Hidden among the crowd was a she-cat who was looking at her paws. "Icefrost, mom, please take care of dad up there, I'm alone, but I hope that flower will guide him." Jaws clamped to keep from crying, the she-cat stood up and walked up to the body and started to share tongues with her father for the last time.
Kindly, another she-cat walked up and put her tail on Flashspark's daughters' shoulder. "Lavapool, your father was brave, but please do not mourn for him, you know that is not what he would have wanted." Mourning was what most cats would do, but Lavapool knew that, no matter how much she wanted to mourn and curl up into a ball and sob, she had to move on.
"Needless to say, I do want a way to remember him, in my heart, and by something else." Opening her paws, Lavapool looked down into them and sighed, wanting to be able to hold something that would always remind her of him.
Pleading in her mind for Starclan to give her something to ease the pain of Lavapool, the she-cat looked around until she spotted what she wanted to find. Questioning this idea would just make things harder on herself, so the she-cat quickly grabbed the flower off of Flashspark and put it in Lavapools paws. "Remember him for his strength, like the strength this flower had in Leaf-bare, of how he always took risks that paid off. Sometimes a risk will be for the better." Taking only a moment to let her words sink in before she ran he tail over Lavapool, then left, letting her be alone.
Until the she-cat was out of sight, Lavapool was completely still, looking at the flower. Very quiet, she closed her paws over the flower, carefully, and smiled. When she was done taking in the whole thing, she gently put the flower in her flank fur, a small smile on her face. "Your still in my heart, and my mind dad, and you always will be." Zipping sounds coming from her mouth, she smiled, that was the noise her father used to make, and she would always make it, looking at her father's flower.
Ok, now, go back and look at the first letter of each sentence! Haha if you found that already, I'm glad, if not, LOOK HARDER! haha well I had fun writing this, and I got the idea from, one, how so many stories like this is just poems, and now really a story, and a simple flower. Oh, and you will probably notice that there is no "X"'s, sorry. The only thing I could find was x-ray, and I didn't want to use that. Please read and review and I hope you liked all the hard work I put into it!
