Time to wake up...Enemies need to die...Princess...Crystal...
Amaris wondered what is his friends taking so long to get here. Kei is starting to get antsy which he had to calm him down as he let out a quiet sigh as he dug through the bag and took out the large container of the pig meat. He opened it as Kei picked up with his nose and let out a happy yelp.
Kei dug into the meat as Amaris settled down to eat the food provided by Lippo. Amaris tilted his head up when he heard the sound of the wall being broken along with the skateboard sliding down and wore a amused smile which is his friends doing it.
The door slid open as they came in walking and covered in dirt. Hisoka looked at the three of them and to Amaris who is reading the book.
The intercom crackled to life as Lippo spoke.
"Third Phase is over. 26 applicants have passed." Lippo spoke.
The door slid open, leading to outside of the Trick Tower. Some got up and some left outside. No one noticed Amaris suddenly stiffened as if he was in shock. Kei noticed it and let out a quiet whine as Amaris gripped Kei's back of his neck. Green eyes changed to amber color.
Amaris have felt something very evil in the air which felt familiar to him which left his face blanched in shock.
"During the Fourth Phase, Kei." Amaris spoke softly. "I want you to deliver the letter to them. I know they will not be happy about dealing with that again."
Kei nodded as the black-haired boy and mixed-blood canine left the tower and stepped into outside. He stood next to Kurapika, eyes glinted with hidden unhappiness.
Lippo congratulated them after they left the tower and told them there are two phases. Amaris perked up as he let out a silent sigh of relief. Lippo told them the Fourth Phase will begin on the Zevil Island.
He had other person to bring in the trolley carrying the small box with the slot on top. Amaris is curious about it as he silently cursed his fox side. He tilted his head in confusion as Lippo said it will be the lottery and who will be hunter and hunted.
Hisoka went first as he drew out the card and went back. Amaris was next to his friends' surprise. He walked up to the black box and gave the man with a deadpanned look on his face.
"Too easy. I wish you made Third Phase harder, old man." Amaris spoke as he grabbed the card from the box and turned around as Lippo were sputtering in shock from his insult.
The candidates snickered in amusement. By one by one, they took the badges. Lippo told them to remove the seal on the card which they did.
He saw the card containing the number 72 which he knew which one have it as he stashed it away somewhere where the applicant can't find it. Lippo explained the points with ID tag and target's ID tag as well. He even told them to feel free to use any kind of methods.
While board on the boat, Amaris removed his ID tag and hid into his bag. He took out the paper and pen. He is far enough from the applicants and his friends so he can send Kei in private. He quickly wrote the letter and put into the canister on Kei's harness.
Amaris murmured to Kei as he disappeared into the portal. He got up and head to Gon and Killua.
"Hey, Amaris." Gon spoke as he saw the black-haired boy coming his way. "Where's Kei?"
"He is sleeping." Amaris replied as he sat down.
"What kind of breed is Kei?" Killua asked, having noticing that the canine has some wolf characteristics.
Amaris put on the best poker face he managed.
"Kei is a half-Timber Wolf and half-Alaskan Malamute." Amaris said.
Killua gaped in surprise and sputtered out some words.
"How?!" Killua exclaimed softly.
Amaris gave him the look that said 'you're being an idiot'.
"I received Kei as a gift from someone a while ago." Amaris replied. "So I don't know who his parents are."
Amaris tilted his head up to look at the sky with a sad smile on his face as he doesn't want to continue to talk. Gon and Killua went back to talking each other. He closed his eyes as he leaned against the wooden part of the boat.
He heard Kei's nails clacking as he came back with the reply. Amaris opened his eyes as Kei sat down in front of the black-haired boy. He took the canister and open the lid as he took out the pale purple envelope with a Saturn symbol on it.
He opened the envelope and read the letter written in her familiar tongue.
Amaris,
This is Lykaios Evans of the Evans clan. I am a substitute leader until you or your brother are ready to take up the position when you are older. I see you got the letter from your mother's letter and journal about what is happening to the long-lived members are being taken. It begun nearly over four hundred years ago when one of the member noticed Aunt Sol haven't come downstairs for breakfast and went to check on her to see she is gone expect for one clue which is 'Golden Reign will not live again' on the wall. The stone start to roll downhill from here when several of the long-lived members went missing. It seem you are right to be angry and worried that the old enemy might be stirring again after many millennia of being sealed away. The seal you felt have broken at last. That mean you and your brother need to get ready if they show up when the time come. Also I left the cards for your own use.
May the Light of Moon lit your path,
Lykaios Evans.
Amaris' face twitched slightly as he read the letter and can see the cards with planetary symbols and castles on back. He calmly teared the letter into little pieces and stowed it away into his bag along with the cards.
He took out the knitting kit and start on making the yarn blanket with the silencing spell placed on the needles, not to annoy the candidates. He knitted the black, white, and gray yarn as few hours passed as the boat landed at the shore. He put it away as he got up.
Few minutes after Hisoka left, Amaris went next as he and Kei head into the forest. Amaris and Kei found the small clearing suited for them as he knew the person was following them by hiding in the trees. He and Kei quickly dug up the small hole and gathered the kindling in the hole along with the rocks around the round hole. He brushed away the dirt and Kei shook his coat to clear away as well.
Amaris and Kei tracked down the river and found it. They managed to catch the decent pile of fish and carried them back to the clearing. He lit the fire site with the match and put the fish into the small sticks. He placed them near the fire to get them cooked while Kei is eating them raw.
He had laid the traps, hidden in the trees, ground, bushes, and around the campsite. He cuddled on Kei with a blanket over him as he fell asleep, not caring about if one of the applicant stumbled on him.
Kei snored loudly for anyone to hear. Despite Amaris being in the sleeping state, he is still in a light sleep with the tessen lying next to him to be prepared. They both heard the faint shuffling of the feet and did the fake sleep.
He took a quick look and knew immediately that it is her target that she was looking for. As the older man went closer to him. He was taken back by surprise as the arm shot out of the blanket and gripped his wrist tightly. He heard the growling sound and saw the dark amused smile on the boy's face.
"That's is a big mistake." Amaris grinned as he did the neck chop to knock him out unconscious and had Kei dragged him back where he was at after Amaris found the badge hidden underneath the scarf.
"Now I have to kill time." Amaris spoke as Kei returned. "Let's go, Kei. I could like to lose the person following us."
She spoke to Kei in her favorite old tongue which he agree with him with a yelp. He turned his head to where the person is at and flashed someone an amused smile as Kei and Amaris did the speedy dash which someone couldn't keep up.
Amaris want to lose the person so he can focus on his magic skills. He found the small cave suited to his liking. He murmured the old spells taught to him by his teacher long time ago. A fine mesh of spells woven into the opening of the cave, making it look like a stone wall instead of the opening.
"Now we don't have to worry about anyone trying to find us for the badges. It's good thing I had slapped the tracking spell on my friends so I can track their locations easily. Now I need to focus on working on the spells I've learned and as well as the fighting moves. I let it go to waste, no thanks to the damn goat." Amaris growled in anger and Kei nodded.
"Let's get to work." Amaris grinned as he cracked his hands.
