AP English was interesting. Her teacher Mr. Jeffries was pretty cool. He told her they were reading The Odyssey and they were going to have a test soon. Luckily she had already read it before so she was set. She sat at the empty seat in the back and listened to the lesson Mr. Jeffries was giving.
When the bell rang Ariya packed up her stuff and left the room. She was starving. Hotstreak was waiting for her outside her class.
"Ready for lunch Princess?" he asked her with a smirk. She elbowed him in the ribs but to her it felt like she was jabbing a brick wall. "Don't call me princess. And to answer your question, yes I'm starving."
He chuckled and rubbed his ribs. Hotstreak led her to the cafeteria and they got in line for lunch. Ariya settled for a chicken sandwich and fries while Hotstreak got a burger. After they got their food they went to the courtyard and sat at one of the benches.
They sat in comfortable silence while they ate. Hotstreak stole a few of Ariya's fries but she got him back when she took the last gulp of his soda.
When they threw their trash away Hotstreak decided he would show her the rest of the school.
"You have science next. Lucky for you I'm in it so you won't miss me too much. Our teacher, Mr. Strothers, is really cool. If you get him distracted by getting him to talk about old music or politics he'll go on for the whole period." Hotstreak said, smiling.
Ariya rolled her eyes but laughed. "Some of us are actually at school to learn ya know." Hotstreak snorted. "Ok nerd." Ariya giggled and bumped his shoulder. "I'm not a nerd. I have gotten bad grades before but that was before high school. Now I want to buckle down and get into a good college." She stated as they wondered the school.
Hotstreak scoffed. "I'm not going to bother with college." He said as he opened the door to another building. "Why not?" she asked. "I've never bothered with school. Most of the teachers here say I'm not going to amount to anything so why even try? I think I'm just going to do trade school to be a mechanic."
Ariya smiled. "That'd be cool. My Uncle Francis is a mechanic." Hotstreak winced at the name again. "So I'm guessing your name is Francis by the reactions you give whenever you hear the name."
Hotstreak frowned. "I hate my name. I'm not a fucking girl." He said angrily as he shoved his hands in his pockets and leaned against some lockers. Ariya looked at him sympathetically. "My Uncle doesn't like his full name either. He goes by Frank most of the time. When I was a kid I called him Uncle Frankie."
Hotstreak looked at her questionably and crossed his arms over his broad chest. "Frank huh? Never thought of that name before." He said. Ariya smiled at him and leaned against the lockers next to him, copying his posture. "You should try it out. See how you like it. I'll even call you Frankie. It'll be my personal nickname for you that no one can use." She said jokingly.
Hotstreak snorted, turned and put his hands on either sides of the lockers, so he had her somewhat pinned. He leaned in close so their faces were mere inches apart. "I'd let you call me Frankie on one condition."
Ariya blushed but kept a serious face. "And what is that?" she said confidently but inside her heart was pounding out of her chest. She wondered if Hotstreak could hear it. He smirked and leaned in close to whisper in her ear. "Kiss me." Ariya's face turned scarlet. Hotstreak looked at her and he started laughing. Genuinely laughing. Ariya punched his shoulder hard. "You jerk! I thought you were serious." She said pouting. That just seemed to make him laugh harder.
"You are such an unbelievable asshole!" She said crossing her arms and turning away from him. Hotstreak just chuckled and hugged her from behind. "Alright pouty girl I'm sorry. I was just teasing." Ariya still pouted but then she got an idea. "Two can play at this game." She thought.
She turned around in his arms and draped her arms around his neck. She had to stand on her tip-toes to accomplish this but it was still effective. Their faces were mere inches apart and she felt Hotstreak's heart quicken. "It's ok Frankie." She said in a seductive tone. "I think I can spare one kiss. Unless you beg for more." She said as she pressed her body to him.
Ariya was a master at flirting so stuff like this came easy to her. This time, however, it felt different. Like everything she was doing just felt right. Her body molded perfectly with Hotstreak's. The breath intermingled and the heat he was radiating was comforting.
Their lips were inches apart when suddenly the bell rang. Hotstreak and Ariya bolted apart and their faces were red. They both looked at each other and started to laugh.
"We better get to class." Ariya said. Hotstreak continued to chuckle but led her to their classroom. He even opened the door for her. "Thank you Frankie." She giggled. He sent her a playful glare but ignored the comment.
When she entered the room she was greeted by a tall man with white hair. "Good afternoon. You must be my new student, Ariyana" he said to her with a smile.
Ariya smiled back at him. "Yes sir. I prefer to be called Ariya though." She said politely. Ariya watched Hotstreak as he walked to the back of the room and sat at the empty desk in the corner of the room. Mr. Strothers followed Ariya's line of sight and smiled.
"Francis Stone as I live and breathe. I think this is the first time you've shown up to my class on time." He said chuckling. Hotstreak smirked. "You can thank Ariya for that. I'm showing her around school today and she happened to have this class." He said as he reclined in his desk. The same way he was doing in math class earlier.
Ariya snickered. "Don't worry sir he won't be late again if I have anything to say about it." She said giving him a pointed look. To which he pouted and crossed his arms in front of his chest. Ariya smirked at him and went to go sit by him, unfortunately the seat next to his was taken so she sat in front of him. Little did she know that would be a big mistake.
Once Mr. Strothers started the lesson, the teasing began. At first he jiggled his foot on the back of her chair. She tried to ignore him and it worked… for a few minutes. Then came the hair tugging. Every so often she would feel a light tug on her hair. Not enough to hurt her but enough to tick her off. She moved her hair to the front of her so he couldn't reach it without drawing attention to himself.
After Hotstreak didn't get a rise out of her he pouted. Then he had an idea. He leaned over his desk and rested his face on his hands. He silently took a breath and blew lightly on the back of Ariya's neck.
Ariya felt cold air on the back of her neck and it made her shiver. She could hear Hotstreak snicker behind her. Luckily when she went to sit down she noticed there was a pencil sharpener behind him. She leaned over and fished out an old pencil out of her bag. She got up and as she walked passed Hotstreak, she flicked his ear. He snickered at her as she sharpened her pencil.
After she sat back down he left her alone for the rest of the class.
Ok guys thank you for sticking with this story. A lot of things have happened to me. I moved back in with my parents when my husband deployed. Then when he came back he got orders for us to move to Japan. Currently I don't have a job so I'll be devoting more of my time to this story. Thank you again for sticking with me.
