Chapter 9- I'm Coming After You
Ash bursted through the door. Looking around frantically for a place to go. He was sweating and he dropped his hat on the way up the stairs. He didn't even look back to see where it drifted off to. With sweat dripping off his face as he panted at a fast pace. He ran into the closet hoping the strange figure did not spot him on the way to the room.
He hid behind a leather brown jacket next to a fur coat. He put a bunch of clothes on top of him so he wouldn't be noticed. Ash soon peeked out the closet and soon saw the dark figure walk it's way to the entrance of the room. Ash quickly poked his head back in the closet, hoping the mysterious person did not spot him.
After what seemed about 2 minutes. Ash poked his head out of the closet to see if the coast was clear. The dark figure was long gone. Ash stepped out of the closet and crept his way to the entrance of the room and looked out to search for the person. Still, no sign of the dark figure. He looked down the long set of stairs to find nothing but darkness and silence. He would either stay here and search for the person or run for the front door and call for help.
Ash didn't take any chances. He ran down the stairs as fast as he could, making a loud thumping noise every time each foot hit the next stair. By the time he got down the stairs, Ash went into recon. He fell a long with the shadows to see if the loud noise of him running down the stairs could make the dark figure come out. Ash breathed heavily, he tried to calm down so he could not be heard. So he waited, but still no sign of the dark figure.
That was the last straw, Ash broke into a run from the hallway to the door. As soon he put his fingertips on the doorknob, he felt a presence in the room. He looked at the door, getting ready to pull it open. Then, a shadow towered over him. He looked back as the dark figure walked to him slowly. Ash was shocked and he froze up, not knowing what to do. By then, the figure grabbed him by the arm with a firm grip on him. Ash never thought of it ending this way. He closed his eyes cowering with fear, waiting for it to just end. Until, the mysterious figure pulled a blanket from off it's head. The person started giggling at how Ash looked. Ash fluttered open his eyes, wondering why he was not attacked yet. He heard a feminine giggle. Was it funny that he was being attacked? He looked at the dark person and saw nothing but just a young little girl.
"I totally scared you, Ash!" May said laughing at the frightened expression on Ash's face.
Ash had finally figured it all out. He was not being chased, it was all a joke that was pulled on him.
Ash's face expression changed from fear to anger and then to embarrassment.
"Not funny, May!"
Have a wonderful Halloween!
Until Next Time,
Cloud
