The next morning Kelly wakes up to an empty house. She knows she's alone because she doesn't smell the usual smell of coffee and hear chatter downstairs. Plus, as she checks her phone she reads a message from Torrie saying she was with Carlito, the two were trying to fix things. She guessed her advice to her sister had helped a bit.

Kelly hops out of bed and makes a decision that she would go for a jog around the neighborhood today. It was a nice bright day and she thought she should take advantage of it. She quickly changes into her workout gear, pulls her hair into a high ponytail and brushes her teeth. She grabs her iPod from the drawer by her bedside table and heads down the stairs.

She stretches out her muscles out by driveway of her house. When she feels pretty warmed up she starts her jog. She heads out around the cul-de-sac and down the road. As she jogs she enjoys the slight breeze in the air, waves to a few neighbors who are outside tending to their gardens and relaxes listening to her favorite music.

After a half an hour of running Kelly's iPod suddenly blasts "the song." She almost trips over her feet at hearing the woman's voice, "You think you know me…"

Still running she turns to her iPod which is strapped to her arm and tries to change it. She can't seem to push the button to skip it. All her attention focused on trying to change the song Kelly doesn't notice a young man on the sidewalk ahead carrying a box also not paying attention to Kelly who's headed his way. He's thanking the neighbor of the house he just left for accepting the coupon book he just gave him.

All of a sudden Kelly feels something hard hit her stomach and feels papers flying all over as her bottom hits the ground. She closes her eyes and hears her iPod clatter to the ground. She hears a grunt of pain in front of her and realizes she just crashed into someone.

She tries to get up but her bottom feels sore from the fall. All of a sudden she hears a car door open and close and someone run up to her. She feels strong arms around her helping her up.

"I am so sorry about that!" she hears a very familiar voice say to her, "my brother wasn't paying any attention." She quickly opens her eyes and notices the arms around her are covered in tattoos and the eyes looking at her are blue like hers.

How was this possible? Why was he everywhere? It was her third day in Clyde Hill for goodness sake. Randy the handsome intimidating guy from the park and from The Spot was standing right in front of her helping her up. Suddenly she steps back from him aware what she might look like. She was covered in sweat from her jog and probably dirty from the fall. Her hand flies to hair trying to smooth it. Why did he have such an effect on her?

"Are you okay?" he asks looking at her with his piercing blue eyes. Of course, her ability to talk seems to fail her at that moment.

"Uh, yeah. Yeah I'm okay. It was my fault, I was distracted with my iPod," she says and then realizes it was still on the floor. Randy having the same idea of picking it up suddenly bends down at the same time she does causing them to bump heads.

"I'm sorry," Kelly says nervously and rubs her head embarrassed. Randy just laughs and rubs his head as well.

"It's alright. First, my brother knocks you to the ground and then I bump you on the head. I really hope you don't think we like hurting people," he continues laughing causing his blue eyes to shine more if that was possible.

Holding the iPod in his hand he looks at the screen. Kelly could still hear "the song" blasting through her earphones.

"You listen to Alter Bridge?" he asks looking at her surprised and in awe. She could feel herself getting hot.

"Uh, well…" she starts but suddenly a whining Zack who was still on the floor after the collision saves her from answering.

Randy hands her iPod back and she quickly turns it off not wanting to listen to it anymore. She just wants to get away. She is embarrassed to be all sweaty and dirty in front of this gorgeous guy. However, their collision had also knocked down a box that Kelly guesses had been filled with the papers scattered on the floor.

"Come on get up. Stop whining like a baby. It was your fault for not watching where you were walking," Randy tells Zack who was holding his stomach and complaining. He holds out a hand to his brother to help him up.

Kelly feeling guilty bends down and starts picking up the papers from the floor and stores them back in the box. She then notices what they were. They were The Spot coupon books. She guesses the guys were handing them out to the neighbors so they could get more customers at the restaurant.

Having picked them all up she turns back to the two boys. Zack looking embarrassed as ever, she hands him the box. "I'm really sorry about that," he said, "I was waving goodbye to Mr. Robinson and didn't see you coming."

"It was my fault too. I was busy trying to change the song that I didn't see you either," Kelly said hoping that was enough for them so she could continue her jog back home.

However, Zack suddenly realizing the box he is holding grabs one of the coupon books and hands it to her smiling broadly. Up close Kelly notices he is wearing the headband he was wearing at the park. Written on it is Woo! Woo! Woo! She doesn't know what to think of that but she takes the book.

"It's a coupon book to our restaurant The Spot across from the Clyde Hill mall. We make really good food and drinks! You should totally come and check it out one day dude!" he says animatedly nodding his head. "Do you live in this neighborhood?"

Kelly watches as Randy shakes his head at his brother. "Zack, I think she's had enough of us, er I mean you for the day. Let's leave her alone so we can finish our job of delivering these. Aunt Stephanie will be disappointed if we don't deliver them before our shift." Randy starts towing Zack away.

"Um, I do live in this neighborhood actually," Kelly says answering Zack's question. "...in that house up in front on the cul-de-sac. Just so you don't waste time delivering another book there."

"Oh nice!" Zack nods excitedly. "We live a bit more down the road but not too far from your place! Are you a new neighbor or have we just never seen you before?"

Again, Randy shakes his head and puts his hand to his forehead at Zack's consistent chatter. However, as Zack talks she could feel Randy's gaze on her. Obviously the two guys don't remember her from the day before when she and Torrie had gone for lunch at The Spot. Randy had even asked her name but she shouldn't have held hope that he would remember her.

"Yeah, my parents and I just moved in a couple days ago," she said. She didn't know why she didn't she just leave instead of answering all these questions. Maybe because of the fact that she wants to see Randy a bit longer even if he makes her super nervous with his piercing gaze.

"That's awesome! Well, my name is Zack Orton and this is my brother Randy for in case we ever run into each other again or something," Kelly notices how surfer like he talks and couldn't help but smile. "What's your name?"

"Um," she suddenly felt weird presenting herself again to Randy but she didn't want to be rude, "It's Kelly. Kelly Blank."

She watched as Randy's blue eyes lit up and he smiles shaking his head and she knew he remembered. "Why didn't you say anything? I'm so bad at remembering people! You were at The Spot yesterday during lunch. I crashed into you when you were coming out of the bathroom. How embarrassing, we are always crashing into you!"

Zack looked confused looking between the two. "You went to The Spot yesterday? How did you like it? Was the food great? And the service, you didn't get Maxine did you?" He asked suddenly getting worried.

"Zack, what did I tell you about asking so many questions? This isn't 21 questions," Randy told him and looked to Kelly giving her an apologetic look.

Kelly answered for Zack's sake. "I went with my sister and we loved the food," Kelly said being nice. She didn't want them to know that they did get Maxine as a waitress. Obviously they didn't like her very much.

"See bro she loved it!" Zack said punching Randy's shoulder happily, "now with those coupons you can go more and bring your parents!"

"Thank you," Kelly said and smiled at his excitement. "Well, I'm going to get going. I need to go shower."

"Oh yeah sorry for keeping you!" Zack said and all of a sudden he was talking again. "Wait! If you're new in town you need to make friends and we have some! You should totally come hangout with us at the park later. We practice there you see, for this basketball tournament we have coming up! You down?"

Randy punched Zack on the shoulder and gave him an angry look. "Zack! Let her breathe. Stop with your chatter! Why would she want to go watch us practice?"

Zack looked like he didn't know what to say so he just shrugged. Kelly looked at the brothers in front of her and noticed how different they were. They did look alike a little in appearance but in their personalities they were completely opposite. Zack was so energetic and friendly that it made Kelly feel good and happy. Randy on the other hand was a bit more serious and responsible but there was still an aura of friendliness to him as well.

Kelly realized she liked the two of them. It wasn't every day that you could find hardworking teenagers like them. They worked hard at their job even though they were young and they seemed so focused on their basketball tournament as well. It had been a long time since Kelly had found anyone interesting enough to want to know more about them or even become friends with. Ever since hanging out with Adam's band.

Maybe this was her chance to finally break out of her shell on her own. She knew moving to Clyde Hill was going to be a new start but she really hadn't thought anything in her life would change. She thought of herself being home all summer on her own or with Torrie. Then school would start and she'd just be a wallflower at the back of the class like she'd been the last months of last year. She didn't want that. So she surprised herself and Randy it seemed too.

"I would love to go," Kelly said and suddenly felt her face getting hot as Randy turned to stare at her.

"Really?" Randy asked surprised. "It won't be much fun. We're just practicing and I wish I could ask you to practice with us but I have to train the team so they're ready for the tournament."

Kelly suddenly felt embarrassed. It seemed Randy probably didn't want her to go that's why he was trying to convince her it wouldn't be fun. It had been Zack who had invited anyway. She knew she could tell them that she knew how to play basketball and she was pretty good but she wasn't one to boast.

"Oh okay. That's fine, I don't want to distract you guys," she said shyly, "when you're not busy maybe one day we can hangout."

Even though she was embarrassed she still wanted to attempt to make friends. She was doing her part at least, something she would have never done before.

"Oh I'm so sorry I didn't mean it like that! You wouldn't distract us! I just didn't want you to get bored and thing we're boring people," Randy said worriedly.

Kelly smiled thinking how they were completely opposite from boring. "You don't seem boring and just like your brother said, it would be nice to have friends in Clyde Hill."

"And we're the best friends you could have because we are the Clyde Hill crew or CH for short," Zack said and Kelly couldn't help but laugh.

Randy stared at her for a bit making her feel like she wanted to run and hide and the he smiled. "Alright then. Sounds like a plan then we'll see you at the neighborhood park at 2."

"Yeah, I'll see you guys there," she said. She waved goodbye to them and then started heading to her house. She decided not to jog anymore and just walk home. She felt excited to know she was going to meet some new people and maybe have some friends. And it was all because she chose to speak up.

The Clyde Hill crew, she thought. She couldn't wait to meet them.

As Kelly arrives to her house she sees her dad's work truck in the driveway and wonders why he's home so early. She walks into her house and sees as he's closing the back door of the kitchen that leads to the backyard. He's holding his tool box in his hand. She's about to greet him happily but when she sees his face she stops.

Her dad's eyes are red and puffy. Kelly quickly looks away but he's already seen her.

"Hey honey…I uh, was just getting some tools. Gotta get back to work," he said and starts walking briskly towards the front door. As he reaches for the door knob it swings open and in walks Torrie chatting happily on the phone unaware of her dad's face.

"Hey dad, Kelly. Yeah can you believe it Christy?" she continued her conversation as she walked to the fridge and started looking around.

Kelly's eyes were still on her dad as he hesitated a bit by the door and trying to keep his face hidden. "I'll see you guys later." With that he hurried out the door and Kelly hear him turn on the truck and drive away.

She continued standing in the middle of the kitchen in shock. Her dad was never sad. The only time she'd seen him like that was at her brother's funeral. Then it hit her as she looked at the kitchen's back door and realized her dad had been in the shed getting his tools. The same shed Adam's things were in. Of course. She suddenly felt a pain in her chest and she thought she was going to cry but suddenly Torrie interrupted.

Phone still to her ear," Hey Kels you want to go get pedicures with Christy and me?"

Kelly still in shock had to shake herself. "Um…yeah I'll go," she said seriously. It seemed Torrie noticed because she got serious too.

"Are you okay Kelly? What's wrong?" she asked.

"Oh nothing sorry. I was just thinking about these guys I met a while ago when I was jogging…" Kelly said quickly thinking of something. She didn't want to tell Torrie about her dad because she'd knew waterworks was all she would get. She didn't know if she could stand it seeing her family sad again.

"What guys?!" Torrie said looking interested, "Hey Christy we'll meet you at Lovely Nails in 15. Alright, see ya!" With that she hung up the phone and turned to Kelly, "you can tell me on the way there!"

With that Kelly grabbed her bag and when the two sisters were sitting in Torrie's impala Torrie asked, "How did you meet these guys? What were their names?"

Torrie so excited to know the story wasn't paying attention as she started backing the car out of the driveway. Suddenly Kelly saw a moving figure behind and screamed, "Torrie watch out!"

Torrie gasped and she slammed on her brakes. "Oh my gosh! I didn't see anyone! Oh my goodness, let's go check!"

She parked the car and the two girls hurriedly got out of the car and sure enough there was their neighbor John Cena standing on the sidewalk looking surprised. It looked like had been running by the fact that he was covered in sweat but had probably stopped because they had almost ran him over.

"I'm so sorry…"Torrie started to say but when she realized who it was Kelly saw her face flush pink. "You! What are you doing? I almost killed you! Why don't you watch out?"

John looked a bit shocked and Kelly thought he was going to get angry and yell back over the fact that he almost got killed but instead he shrugged. "I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention. Next time I'll be more careful."

It looked like Torrie was going to argue back but since he only apologized she looked surprised. "Yeah well I hope so." Kelly almost wanted to laugh at her sister because she could tell she didn't have no idea what to respond. She noticed how this guy pushed her buttons on purpose but she didn't seem to notice. "Let's go Kelly."

With that she got back in the driver's seat. Kelly turned to John and gave him an apologetic look and he understood. "It's okay, she got scared and so did I. Things happen," he said.
"Good thing an accident didn't happen though. I'm sorry again. See you later," Kelly said and waved. He waved as well and continued jogging up his driveway and inside his house.

As Kelly got in the in the car she knew she wouldn't hear the end of it from Torrie. "Oh my gosh, I just can't believe he can't watch out and see that a car is backing up. I don't know he's so weird. Ever since I met him he just rubs me the wrong way."

Kelly just smiled as her sister made an annoyed face. However, she did see her glance at John's house right before she backed out again onto the road and Kelly wondered about that but didn't say anything.
