Mind Your Own Business

General POV

"Time to wake up!" Scarlett exclaimed climbing on top of Jen who groaned in frustration. She grabbed the blankets closer. "Scar just 10 more minutes," Jen pleaded and Scarlett grinned.

"But your breakfast will get cold," Scarlett practically sang. She pressed play on her music and the room filled with melodies.

"I don't want breakfast," Jen complained covering her face with blankets.

"But I cooked it just for you and brought it to you in bed," she said gesturing to her left where a tray was displayed, covered with various foods.

Jen opened her eyes with a scrunched face.

"I hate you."

"You love me," Scarlett countered and then got up.

"I don't see how you do it. You're such an early riser. You're even fully dressed!" Jen scoffed and grabbed a muffin. It was still warm.

"The morning is beautiful," Scarlett explained. She went over to the window and opened the curtains more widely.

"It makes a new start and reminds you of goodness," she continued lightly. She was still disheartened by her conversations with both Jack and Dawson. She hadn't talked to Dawson in days and she felt way too prideful to change that. They were all a mess, including Jen. She had told Scarlet about Drew and how he told her grams parts of what happened with the ecstasy. What scum.

She took a breath and turned back to Jen.

"Now up and at em. No better remedy than looking fabulous and mom just sent new imports," she said and Jen gave a smile.

Jen and I entered Capeside High only half prepared. It was getting harder to go to school.

"Now remember what we talked about. Still apologetic...,"

"But no groveling," Jen finished in reference to Jack.

"You've apologized but, he's just being stubborn and doesn't want to hear you. He's just hurt right now."

When we reached her locker we were faced with just about everyone we didn't want to see in one hallway at their respective lockers: Jack, Joey, Pacey, Dawson.

Jen started getting her books and Drew started to come over with his signature smirk. It disgusted me. How could someone possibly be so lonely he would go to such lengths to drag someone through the mud.

"Hey Jen-"

Before I knew it I had him slammed into the locker face first and hands behind his back.

"Now lets get something straight," I said in his ear.

"Jen does not want to talk to you now. She does not want to talk to you later. She probably doesn't want to talk to you next week and unless or until she says otherwise I suggest you keep your distance because I don't like it when people hurt my friends. And I'm sorry that you're so clearly sad and lonely that you have to throw others under buses to make you feel better about your pathetic life but that's not Jen's problem so please go try and find some semblance of a meaningful life elsewhere," I finished turning him around and pushing him back into the locker giving him a dead glare that could burst him into flames under different circumstance.

"Crazy bitch-"

"Is there a problem here you two," a teacher asked coming down the hallway. I don't think anyone but students saw the exchange . Everyone just stood shocked in their places.

I plastered on a smile.

"No everything is fine. Drue was just leaving," I said and he cleared his throat before backing away with a scowl.

Jack walked over.

"Scarlett what was that?" Jack questioned not even acknowledging Jen behind me. Joey and Pacey were behind him. Dawson was at his locker listening in five doors down.

"Don't worry about it Jack. You told me to mind my business so why don't you mind yours ," I responded giving him a look of disdain.

"Scarlett-"

"Jack don't. If you can't talk to Jen then you can't talk to me. Believe me when I say I've done stupider things," I scoffed crossing my arms. He stood there silently and I shook my head in annoyance. I grabbed Jen's arm and pulled her past our so called friends without even a glance at Dawson.
