His hand clenched into a fist. He got up from his desk and the light in the room instantly dimmed. "What."
"Sir, there was a disruption on Realm six." The bat like creature responded. His grey skin oozed with slime as his body breathed heavily.
"I heard you the first time, Azazel. Is it the rogue angel?"
"The report is inconclusive. A massive energy burst was detected and by the time one of our Fallen got there, the culprit was long gone."
Lucifer clenched his hands at his side. His dark, black hair hung like an oil slick around the whiteness of his face. His golden red eyes gleamed with anger. Azazel was just glad it wasn't entirely directed at him. His master could get angry quickly and his wrath was something to behold.
"Find her." he commanded, "Find her quickly. Before she reaches Pride. Once she slips into this Realm she will be enveloped by the masses. It will make her that much harder to locate."
"Yes, sir."
"Bring Bile with you. Have him sniff her out. One way or the other we need this rogue. Once you have her, bring her to me. Alive."
Lucifer turned his back to his minion. Azazel hesitated in his departure. He wanted to ask a question, but dared to do so. Finally, he mustered up the courage. "Sir, what about the other one? Has she told you anything?"
Lucifer's back stiffened. Azazel feared for his life, until his master turned around slowly. A look of cold pleasure lit up his master's face. "If I hadn't been so pleased, I might have gotten angry at your outburst. Today must be your lucky day. The angel is currently under the Lake of Ice. She wouldn't tell me much, but that will change. It always does for them. I need to find out how they managed to slip down into my Realms!"
"It happened before, my lord. Didn't she tell you–"
"Don't." Lucifer's eyes smoldered. "Don't ever mention her again. She's long gone. Now go, find that angel and bring her to me."
Azazel knew better than to speak again. He unfolded his black, bat like wings and opened a portal in the roof of the mansion. It opened up to the clear skies above his master's home. He surged forward into the air and took off. He had a mission to do and his master expected results. He'd find this rogue and he'd bring her to his master. Yes, yes he would.
Lucifer sat back down at his desk. His rage simmered just below the surface. He needed answers and he needed them now. He clicked his fingers together and an imp appeared a few moments later. It bowed its head at its master.
"Bring her to me." he commanded.
The imp bowed and popped through a portal of his own. Lucifer waited a few moments until the imp came back. The imp wasn't alone. A serene figure hovered in the air behind him. The body seemed to float all on its own. Lucifer snapped his fingers and the imp took its leave.
He stood up from his desk and went towards the body. Her face clouded by long black hair that floated around her small, elvish face. Pretty, he thought, yet not as pretty as…her. He lifted his hands and slowly touched her soft skin.
It brought back memories of another time, another place, another person. He shook his head to clear the thoughts. Without warning, he dug his nail into her flesh. Gold blood the color of the sun leaked from the wound. He watched it drip onto the floor. And still the body lying there did not wake. It appeared to be sleeping.
He slashed deeper down into her flesh. The skin broke apart like an orange being peeled. More blood began to pool from her veins. He watched as the gold liquid shimmered and fell into the dirt. Finally, the body began to rustle. She whimpered in her sleep like state. The hair on the back of his neck rose at the sound. How he missed that sound.
No other creature could sound so blissful as a weeping angel.
He waited until the girl began to blink open her wide, blue eyes. She looked down at the blood leaking from her and her eyes hardened. She had the guts to try and sit up, even though she was so weak. Her lips trembled with the effort of speech.
"You have no power over me, Satan."
"Is that so," he said. "He cocked his head. "I find that you'll be most helpful once I'm done with you. Now tell me, where is she?"
"Who?" she croaked.
"The rogue angel who came with you."
Fear crawled over her features. She tried to cover them up, but he noticed. "I don't know who you're talking about."
Lucifer slowly trailed a finger up her forearm. She tried to pull away, but the force field around her body was too strong. His fingers dipped into her golden blood. He raised his coated fingers to his lips and tasted the essence. Calypso watched in horror as he licked his fingers clean.
"Not as good as I am used too. What a pity. It might have gone quicker for you if it was. It seems like we have a lot of time to get to know each other."
"Do what you will, you vile creature. God is always with me."
"Even here?" he said, sweeping his hand around the room. He jerked forward and grabbed her throat. "This is my Realm and I will find her, with or without you. And once I do, I will consume both of you, one drop at a time."
Her eyes began to roll back in her head. He released his grip on her slowly, watching as she came back to life. Choking her wouldn't kill her, he knew that. It just was fun watching them struggle for breath. He calmly walked back to his desk and sat down. He twirled the ring on his left finger and didn't look up at her.
She watched all this with apprehension. What was he planning on doing? The wound on her arm was slowly beginning to heal, but if he drained her…. She would most certainly die. All that an angel was made of was the Ethereal essence found inside. If her essence was lost, then so was she.
She cleared her throat and closed her eyes, sending a silent prayer.
Please, help me Bella. I don't know how you will. But please, help me.
