So… it's been too long. Far too long. I'm sorry, but everything piles up. School is a source of constant stress, and no matter how I approached this chapter, I felt like it wasn't what I wanted it to be. But… I still love this idea, it's just that every time I looked at this I saw all the plot holes (example: 'OMG, this kid looks just like our lost BFF… better just leave it alone for now, derp' …yeah, I don't know how else to put it) and it just frustrated me. How you guys have kept up with my terrible writing amazes me. But you deserve to know what happens, so I'm going to try to continue this. Like I said, I love this idea, I want to continue this, so, let's try to do this again. Once again, I sincerely apologize my dear readers.

Wayw4rd: just read this chapter ;)

AUehara: don't worry about it, movies based off of Anime's have a tendency not to be good. Also, this is about six months late…

Zero Unit RGB: The picture… maybe I miscounted… yeah, you're right, it should be twelve kids… dangit. Sorry. My bad, should've double checked that *sweatdrop* Yeah, I haven't forgotten Ken though, he has a spot in all of this, has from when I was first planning this out, so don't worry.

Fanakatsuki: yeah, I pick on the original Digidestines a lot

Guested: don't worry about bad grammar and stuff, brazillians are awesome ;) I dunno, I tend to blindly love *almost* all the seasons blindly (there are some I can't stand) and don't worry, Cody and Ken will come in, they do have a place in all this, just not quite yet.

MacDreamy: Yeah, TK is whole again! Also, why is he keeping TK alive… cause he can? Yeah, yet another thing I didn't think all the way through… maybe to try and find a way to extract his abilities as a digidestined forever? IDK

Lightus of the light: …thanks m8, sorry it's been so long

Ayelet: I feel bad for them too

Cartoonprawn: I love Calumon too! Ever since I was a kid.

Digi-fanCatt: they'll tell him eventually. I haven't decided who will say it (well, I have an idea) it's probably somewhere in between (Tai's hair I mean) Kai… yeah, he's probably Jun's son, I hadn't actually thought of that… All the old gang have new identities (including first names) and Cody will come in within the next few chapters.

Guest: yup, the egg will hatch soon

Guest: finally updated… the big battle scene will be in the next chapter, I still have to rewatch this movie after so long… sorry…

Guci x2: I think TK somewhat know's he's in the future… more or less… I love TK

Guest: Updated

MeDuSa: yeah, I have some fun things planned for Yamaki

Guest: first – I'm not sure yet. Second – some will, some won't. Third – you'll find out. Fourth – you'll find that out later too. Fifth – yeah, he was brought there for a reason. Sixth – You'll see when they find out. Seventh – I'll hint at it for a little while before revealing it. You probably already know them. Eighth – I'm still not sure what I'm doing with Ryo, though I do have a lot of ideas.

DragonWolfStar – thank you *blush* here's the next chapter.

Guest: well, he's coming soon

Guest: You're a big part of the reason I updated.

1sthi1357: You are also a big reason I updated.

Also shout out to Guci x2 for giving me the shove I needed to post this chapter!

oOo

I raced through the halls, my feet slapping against the floor as I desperately searched for the room the others would be in. My egg was in my arms, Calumon on my head, and hope, yes hope, in my heart. Water soaked my shoes the place continued to flood. I turned my head towards the sound of voices shouting. I was done being in the background, staying in the shadows. I had my crest back, and in many ways, I felt like T.K. the digidestined was back.

oOo

"Omnimon, can't you go any faster?" Rika shouted as the five of them raced through the strange in between dimension, Rika and Henry on each of Omnimon's shoulders.

"I'm going as fast as I can with the circumstances." He replied, his eyes focused forward.

"Circumstances?" Henry asked, but the question remained unanswered as a horde of Digimon appeared, more than Rika and Henry had ever seen in one place.

"Rika?" Kyubimon asked, preparing for a fight.

"Um, Omnimon, shouldn't we at least slow down a little?" Gargomon asked, eyeing the horde they were running head first into at high speed. Without a reply Omnimon brought up his canon hand blew away the first layer of Digimon.

"Hold on." He warned Henry and Rika before bringing out his sword, twisting as he swung at the rest of them. Without even slowing down their speed they passed dissolving Digimon, data lingering in the air.

"Such power." Rika muttered with wide eyes, and Henry could only gape. Omnimon didn't even bother with absorbing the other Digimons' data, and it as he took a fraction of a second to eye it a little uneasily, as though the concept disturbed him.

"If you can do that, why can't you take care of whatever is threatening Takato and TK?" Gargomon looked at Omnimon curiously, almost accusingly.

"I am bound to this state of existence, I cannot progress nor degress, I cannot escape to the human world or return to the Digital world. If I were able to I would leave in a second, but I lost something, things that I fear I may never regain."

"What did you lose?" Omnimon glanced briefly at Henry and Rika.

"My two closest friends... they left me to protect the world, but they had no idea what consequences would come from us being separated."

"Wait, are you telling me you had a Tamer?" Rika asked, and Omnimon's silence answered the question for her.

oOo

I hurried up several stairs and emerged in a room with a glass dome over it, rain pouring down onto the panes. Growlmon and Seasarmon stood protectively in front of Kai, Takato, and Minami faced Mephistomon, who had taken on a monstrous form.

"Oh, and the child of Hope has finally chosen to join us." My hand gripped my tag and crest, and I glared back at the monster. Mephistomon only raised his head and barked a laugh. "You've regained what I forced you to give up, have you?" I could feel Calumon shivering ontop of head, and the egg doing the same.

"Tk, what is he talking about?" Takato asked, looking at me with confusion.

"I- I can't explain right now." I avoided his gaze, guilt seeping into my soul. He had trusted me, taken me in, and I had betrayed him and his trust.

"Nevermind, I will destroy you all."

"Not today." We all turned out attention to the section of the air that was shimmering, only to see Rika and Henry along with Kyubimon and Gargomon come out of it, and a smile of excitement at seeing his friends spread across his face.

"Sorry we're late." Henry said, glancing at the two of us.

"Nah, you're just in time." Takato replied. "Get him, Growlmon!"

"Kyubimon, show this guy who's boss."

"Gargomon, we've got this." The three Digimon sprung towards their opponent. The muzzle twisted into a sickening smirk, before anyone had a chance to prepare beforehand, Mafistomon attacked as well. I cried as pure energy exploded across the area. A mass of mixed color enveloped me, my sight was over taken and I heard the cries of others. Distantly, I could hear another voice, some form of a double layered voice, crying out in frustration, and I turned my head instinctually towards it. I knew those two voices, I recognized the way that they were blended together. I remembered being so young, sitting in front of a computer screen with tears in my eyes, shouting as I saw my brother and his friend and the owner of those voices.

The colors melted away and he found himself falling, the ocean looming below as I fell at an incredibly high speed.

"Aaaahh!" The scream tore it's out of my mouth, accompanied by cries of my friends before I crashed into the water. My eyes were shut, but as I felt myself just continuing to fall, I Realized I must not be in any immediate danger. I tentatively opened my mouth and took in a breath of… air? My eyes opened and I found myself drifting towards what appeared to be a replica of the town. J

"What the?" I straightened myself up as I saw everyone else in similar states of shock, floating in the strange waters. A school of fish hurried by.

"Where are we?" Rika asked, looking around uncomfortably.

"Where you will meet your doom!" Mephistomon seemed to just come into being, grinning sinisterly. "Allow me to show you the face of true terror." He emitted a scream that knocked everyone, Digimon included, off their balance, before I found myself staring at one of the most sickening scenes in my history. And that's a long history of traumatic events since I was, like, seven.

Mephistomon seemed to sink into himself, and turn inside out or something, he body grotesque and looking generally wrong. Parts bulged and others looked wrinkled and decrepit. An unappealing face snarled at us.

"You may die." He waved a hand and a shockwave hit Kyubimon, Gargomon, and Growlmon, all three of them standing protectively in front of their digi-destined.

"Urk, he's strong." Takato said, his arms protectively held in front of his face.

My eyes widened. Were they just going to give up? Mephistomon reared back his ugly face once again, and my heart clenched like a hand had some out of nowhere and was squeezing it.

"No." I whispered the word, and it touched my lips so softly that no one noticed. I don't think anyone really remembered that I was standing right here. A wave of energy was built up in front of Mephistomon.

"No." A little louder this time, though not enough to break over the din of the battle.

Mephistomon released his attack.

"NonononononoNO!" I touched, and suddenly I was full of energy. "No, you can't give up yet! Not now! Not while there's still hope!" The words were torn from my throat, words I had wanted to say so long ago to my friends when they left each other for the World, something that would just chew them up and spit them out with each other. Tears built up from watching all I ever had being torn from me in a slow, agonizing process, spilled down my face. I was glowing, my crest was glowing so brightly that it overtook my vision, and in my arms I felt movement.

Cri

"Rika, I feel stronger!"

Cra

"Henry, we can do this!"

Crac

"Takato, we can take him!"

CRACK!

"POYO!"

The light exploded in an all at once kind of way, coming from my chest, and when it died down three magnificent Ultimates stood there in all their glory, in front of their charges, practically shining like some sort of a guardian angel. But my attention was directed elsewhere.

"Poyo~" In my arms, egg fragments were dissolving into the air, and instead I was holding a squishy, small, moving baby Digimon.

"Poyomon…" I just took in his appearance for a minute, before bringing him close to my chest. "I-I'm so glad you're okay! I've been waiting for you, for so long!" Battle cries of the ensuing battle could be heard, but I didn't need to look up to know the outcome. Instead my attention was drawn once again by something else, a fluttering sound behind me. I turned, but there was nothing.

"Let's go!" The digidestined cried as one, as they and their partners were filled with an overwhelming amount of hope. The digimon charged at Mephistomon, firing attacks so rapidly I could scarcely keep track of them. There was the sound of something breaking, and I looked up to see a large object, some piece of a building, falling, almost in slow motion, onto Mephistomon.

"Take cover!" Gargomon yelled, as he ran to protect Henry from the crash that would undoubtedly happen soon. I began to get as far away from Mephistomon as possible, cradling poyomon against my chest, doing my best to protect him. I heard the sickening crash, and then the ground was torn from my feet, screams overcame my ears, and the world went black.

oOo

"…Kenta?"

"Yeah, Kazu?"

"It kind of sucks, doesn't it?"

"What does?"

"Being so useless." The two best friends were sitting on one of the many playground attractions, though the place was eerily quiet for an area that was meant to be filled with laughter and kids.

"It kind of does." Kenta agreed, looking down at his hands.

"What do you think they're doing right now? Saving the world again? And what are we doing? Just sitting around doing nothing." Kazu tilted his visor down.

"I guess you never really get to hear about the people who have to sit around and wait, huh?" Kenta looked at his watch. "I should probably be getting home. This blackout has got my dad worried, he said he didn't want me to be out for too long." He picked up his bag.

"Yeah, my mom will probably be hounding me if I don't show up at some point." It was funny that way, how both of them only had one parent.

"See you tomorrow, right?" Kenta gave a small wave.

"Yeah. Wonder when they'll be back, and how long do you give until we're stuck waiting again?"

"With Takato? I wouldn't give it a week."

Behold, the crap that is this chapter. I'll try to update this a little more frequently. You can probably tell the part I wrote forever ago and the part I wrote now. Anyway, yeah, I have a lot of feels about those people that are just left behind while the heros go and do their thing. Yeah, thanks for reading, especially after all this time… I just have to tell you I'm sorry. Sorry for the wait, sorry this chapter didn't come out quite how I wanted it to, but I figure you guys deserved something at least. As always, thanks for the read, it's a pleasure to write to you as an audience.

Also, the battle scene will be next chapter since I have to review EVERYTHING before I mess up the continuity in this fanfic even more

Do I even have the right to ask for reviews after so long?

Thanks one last time for reading
