I judge by what she's wearing
Just how many heads I'm tearing
Off of assholes coming on to her
Each night seems like it's getting worse
And I wish she'd take the night off
So I don't have to fight off
Every asshole coming on to her
It happens every night she works
They'll go and ask the DJ
Find out just what would she say
If they all tried coming on to her
Don't they know it's never going to work
They think they'll get inside her
With every drink they buy her
As they all try coming on to her
This time somebody's getting hurt
Here comes the next contestant
Is that your hand on my girlfriend?
Is that your hand?
I wish you'd do it again
I'll watch you leave here limping
And I wish you'd do it again
And I'll watch you leave here limping
There goes the next contestant

"What do you mean you gave Jackson the bite?" I asked Derek in irritation as I sat next to him on the couch. Sam, Dean, and Uncle Bobby had taken off the day before with promises that they would be in touch soon. Uncle Bobby hadn't wanted to leave. I knew he was worried about me and the fact that I was now a werewolf, something that was still odd for me to think about, but he had agreed to leave after a long conversation. Derek sighed before answering.
"He showed up here, right as I was getting back from taking care of Peter's body. He wanted it, and we need a pack." I rolled my eyes.
"Jackson, seriously? He just wants it because he's got a fucking superiority complex." I told him reaching towards the popcorn setting in my mate's lap.
"We still need others." He remarked causing me to sigh.
"D, we can't just go around turning people."
"We can if they're willing. Now's the perfect time." I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah, now's a great time. Especially with the influx of hunter's we're going to be dealing with because of the funeral."
"Which is exactly why we need a pack. They know you're my mate, and Chris knows you were turned. They're going to be after you now too." He placed a hand on my stomach. "It's not just us we have to look out for anymore." I placed my hand over his.
"Derek I've literally been pregnant for like three days. A pregnancy test wouldn't even come back positive yet." I told him.
"So? We start building a pack now, they can help protect you, and the baby, and we have nine months before it shows up to get them trained and under control." I sighed. The hunter in me wasn't exactly all for the idea of turning people into monsters, but the other side of me, the one that had grown up surrounded by werewolves knew that they weren't all monsters… They're just enhanced people. Then there was the Alpha in me that craved a pack, and craved protection for the pup that was growing inside of me.
"Alright, but I have some conditions." Derek nodded urging me to go on. "They need full disclosure beforehand; the hunter's, the blood lust, everything. It has to be a fully informed choice, and they can't just be normal kids."
"What do you mean?" Derek asked.
"They need to be kids that need it, that need to be accepted. Kids that are sick and need relief, or outcasts, or like abused kids or something. Kids that getting the bite could help them." I told him. Derek nodded in understanding.
"And if they say no? We don't need a bunch of kids running around with the knowledge that werewolves are real and that we are."
"We have Anna wipe their memories." I responded. He quirked an eyebrow.
"She can do that?" He asked impressed, I laughed.
"You'd be surprised at the amount of shit Anna Banana can do."
I pulled up in front of Scott's house an hour or so later and honked my horn. The boy came walking out of the house slowly and climbed into the truck.
"You smell different." He told me. I smirked and concentrated, flashing my Alpha eyes at him. His mouth dropped open in shock.
"Wh- How? You're an Alpha?" He asked in surprise as I pulled out and headed towards the Sheriff's station.
"Yep. Perks of being true mates to an Alpha I guess." I responded with a laugh. Scott nodded.
"That whole thing is still weird to me." He told me. I chuckled.
"Don't worry dude. I'm living it and it's still weird to me." Scott laughed. "How's things with Allison?" I asked curiously. Scott sighed and looked out the window sadly.
"Well they were good yesterday, until her dad found us hanging out and threated to kill me if we ever saw each other again." I quirked an eyebrow.
"That blows. You really going to stop seeing her?" I asked curiously.
"Yeah, I guess. I don't know. I don't want to, but I don't want to make things hard for her." I glanced at him from the corner of my eye.
"You really love her, don't you?" I asked. He looked to me and nodded.
"Yeah, I do." He replied as we pulled into the Sheriff's station. I shut off the truck and climbed out dropping the subject as we headed inside.
"What can I do for you today?" The deputy working the desk asked as we walked in. I waved a hand at Scott telling him to go ahead.
"I need to talk to Sheriff Stilinski about the night at the school a few weeks ago." Scott told her. She raised an eyebrow.
"Name?"
"Scott McCall, and this is my Aunt Co-" The deputy cut him off.
"Cavanaugh, yeah I know. Alright, have a seat, I'll let him know you're here." I chuckled as she walked away. Scott raised an eyebrow at me.
"Why did she smell like she hated you?" Scott questioned curiously as he sat down in one of the chairs. I leaned up against the wall next to him.
"I kicked her ass in high school once." I told him.
"Why?"
"She was picking on a girl, Derek was dating at the time." Scott chuckled.
"Remember that time when I was like seven or eight and you choke slammed that guy at the park." I chuckled.
"Oh yeah. That was the first time I ever rode in the back of a cop car. Your mom was so pissed when the cops dropped us off at my house."
"Yeah, my dad was more pissed though. He didn't want me around you at all after that." I rolled my eyes.
"That's because your dad is a dick." Scott nodded in agreement as Sheriff Stilinski came out into the waiting room. He waved us back and we followed him to his office. Scott and I sat down across from him.
"Alright, what did you need to talk to me about Scott?" Stilinski asked. Scott looked nervously to me.
"Jesus, Scott. Just tell him what you told me this morning." I told the boy. Scott took a deep breath before looking to the Sheriff.
"So, I might have lied the night at the school." Sheriff Stilinski sat forward in his chair.
"I'm sorry what?"
"Well lied might not be the right word. I saw Derek's car at the school, but I never saw him, and the person that I did see. Well, they honestly probably weren't Derek." Scott answered.
"What do you mean probably?" Stilinski asked.
"Well, I mean, the person was a lot skinnier than Derek. Almost like a woman skinny." Scott responded. Sheriff Stilinski blew out a breath.
"Why did you tell us it was Derek then?"
"Because everyone was freaking out, and asking questions, and they wouldn't stop and I panicked. I just blurted out that it was definitely Derek before I could think about it." Scott responded. The sheriff turned to me.
"You know, this is really coincidental considering Derek Hale just turned himself in not two hours ago." I made my eyes go wide.
"Did he now? Weird. Wonder where he was hiding out this whole time." I mused, Stilinski narrowed his eyes.
"Also, coincidentally we found out that the Hale fire wasn't an accident, and we connected all of the murder victims to the Hale arson. We also found the woman who set everything up dead in the Hale House yesterday." I leaned forward as if in shock.
"No fucking way? Who was it?"
"Kate Argent. You know her?" Sheriff asked. I gasped as did Scott.
"Yeah, she uh, she dated Derek right before the fire happened. She was always super crazy, like obsessed with him, and he broke up with her because of it. I didn't think she was crazy enough to burn his fucking family because of it." I said as I made tears well up in my eyes. The sheriff's face softened.
"I'm sorry Cora. I know how close to the Hale's you were." I nodded my head.
"We have a pretty good idea that Kate was behind all of the murders. She was trying to cover her tracks, and it looks like an animal got her. With Scott, changing his story we have nothing to hold Derek with, except fleeing from the police, but considering everything, I'm going to drop the charges." My head perked up.
"Really?" I asked hopefully. Sheriff nodded.
"I'll take care of the paper work, you wanna take him with you?" I nodded.
"Thank you, Sheriff." I told him as I stood and ran around the desk to hug him. He chuckled and hugged me back.
"Go wait out front, I'll bring him out." I nodded and rushed from the room. Once I was out the door and Scott caught up to me I winked at the boy who was looking at me with an astounded face at my performance.
"That was scary believable." He murmured. "Your heart beat didn't even change." I winked at him.
"When you grow up with werewolves you learn tricks to keep even your heart beat steady when you lie."
A few minutes later Derek walked out into the waiting area, Sheriff Stilinski trailing behind him. I rushed to Derek, and slapped him across the face to keep up my charade.
"Don't you ever do anything like that again you little shit." I told him angrily. Derek smiled sheepishly at me. I smiled back and embraced him in a hug, my inner wolf content at the contact. Derek wrapped his arms around me and pulled me tighter.
Was that really necessary? His voice floated through my head. I smirked into his shoulder.
Probably not. I responded as we pulled away and I began pulling him out the door. I saw Derek roll his eyes at me out of the corner of my eye and chuckled.
I knocked on Anna's door as Derek glanced around warily. I rolled my eyes.
"Would you stop? The sheriff just let you go."
"It's not the cops I'm worried about." He replied, oh right Argents. I shrugged.
"They'd be stupid to come here. They might be the top dogs, hehe, when it comes to werewolves, but they have no clue how to even begin hunting a witch." I told him as Anna opened the door. I smiled widely and rushed forward hugging the girl. She let out a "oof" as I collided with her.
"Jesus Cora, I saw you yesterday." She laughed out hugging me back. I pulled away and made my way into the house.
"I know, but we have some stuff to ask you, so I was trying to butter you up." I told her with an innocent smile. She rolled her eyes, but waved her hand leading us into the kitchen. I took a seat at the table and glanced at all the different witchy supplies hanging out in her kitchen.
"You guys want a drink?" Anna asked pulling a bottle of vodka out of the cupboard.
"Girl is that even a real question?" Anna laughed and I jumped up to help her make some drinks. A whistle, had us turning to look at Derek as Anna was pouring the vodka into the glasses. We looked at him curiously.
"Are you two forgetting something?" He asked with a raised eyebrow and an amused smirk on his face. Anna and I looked to each other curiously before we remembered and glanced at each other's stomachs. Oops.
"Ah shit." Anna grumbled out setting the bottle down and dumping out the glasses.
"This fucking sucks." I remarked. Anna and I both headed back to the table and sunk down into chairs. Derek just looked between the disappointed looks on both our faces and shook his head while laughing.
"What'd you guys wanna ask me?" Anna asked curiously.
"Wanna be in our pack?" Anna glanced between the two of us who were looking at her expectantly. She shrugged.
"Fuck it. Why not?" I smiled widely at her answer. "So, who else is in this pack?" She asked curiously. I shot Derek a look.
"Well apparently,, Derek bit Jackson. We're gonna make a few more beta's and I'm going to try convincing Scott." Anna snorted.
"Good luck with that. He loves you, but he still doesn't trust Der here for shit." Derek glared at her causing me to snicker. I kicked my feet up into Derek's lap and he scowled at me. I winked and blew him a kiss causing him to shake his head.
"Cora said we're only allowed to turn certain types of people." Derek told Anna. She nodded.
"I wouldn't expect anything less. What's the stipulations?" The witch asked.
"Oh, you know, sick, abused, outcasts, et. Cetera." I responded, Anna contemplated this for a moment.
"That kid Isaac down the street, I think his dad abuses him." I quirked an eyebrow at that.
"Camden's brother? Really? Mr. Lahey was always a hard ass, but I never got the impression he was abusive."
"You knew his brother?" Anna asked curiously. I nodded and glanced at Derek out of the corner of my eye. He scowled.
"Yeah she screwed around with him for a while in high school before he graduated. Didn't he go into the military or something?" Derek answered. I nodded and thought about it.
"Yeah he died like a year or so later. Maybe Lahey started abusing him after that." Anna shrugged.
"I don't know, I just know I always hear yelling and shit. I've called the cops before, but nothing ever came from it as far as I know." I thought about it for a moment.
"You know, Isaac does seem to frequently get black eyes and stuff, I always just thought maybe he got into lots of fights or something." I muttered. A sadness began to creep over me at the thought that a parent could treat their child like that. My hand instinctively went to my stomach, thinking of the child that would sooner than later be here. A wave of protectiveness passed over me causing me to let out a growl.
"We're going to him tonight." I told Derek, as my eyes flashed red. He sent me and understanding look and placed a hand against my leg.
"What if he doesn't want it?" Anna asked curiously as she eyed Derek and I.
"That's part of the other reason we came to you, we need you to be ready to do a memory spell or something so that if they don't want it, they aren't walking around with knowledge they don't need." Derek responded.
"I could make some memory dust." Anna suggested. "That way you guys can just go about it without needing me there. It's a lot easier for the two of you to sneak around than it is for me."
It took Anna 'til a little after nightfall to finish the memory dust, I tucked the pouch into my pocket as we headed off. We pulled up across the street from Isaac's house.
"Concentrate, what can you hear?" Derek asked as we stared at the house across the street. I tucked some hair behind my ear and did my best to focus. I stared at the house drowning out as much noise as I could. Finally, it became clear.
"Just one person, Isaac's dad if the news on the TV is anything to go by."
"Good." Derek told me a proud smile on his face. I beamed at the accomplishment and reined my hearing back in. "Where else might he be?"
"Lahey owns the graveyard. I think Isaac works for him. Maybe he's there?" I stated. Derek put the car back into gear and headed off.
Once we parked the car, we headed off to where we could hear a backhoe running; Derek stopped.
"Do you smell that?" He asked, I took in a deep breath and scrunched my face in confusion.
"Is that another werewolf?" I asked curiously. Derek nodded as he looked around.
"Yeah, one I don't know." We twisted back towards our beginning direction when we heard a crash. We rushed forward and saw the backhoe tipped over a grave. I could hear a heart beating, from the hole, erratically with fright.
Derek and I each grabbed an end of the backhoe and pulled flipping it back up. As we stepped around I looked down to see the frightened face of Isaac Lahey staring up at us.
"Need a hand?" Derek questioned. Isaac shrunk back into himself, I smiled softly at him.
"It's okay Isaac. We're here to help. I promise." I told him, as I squatted down and held out a hand towards him.
"Cora?" He asked in confusion. I nodded while keeping the comforting smile on my face.
"Yeah dude. It's me. C'mon. Let's get you outta there." I told him wiggling my hand. He hesitantly stood and reached up grabbing onto my hand. I used my new strength and pulled him out easily. Once his feet were on solid ground he took a few steps away from me eyeing Derek and I warily.
"Wh- W- What the hell was that thing?" He asked us. I smiled and sat down on the gravestone for Kate; so, glad that bitch is gone.
"That my dear boy, was a werewolf." I told him.
"A werewolf?" Isaac questioned in disbelief. I smirked and flashed my red eyes at him. He took a frightened step back.
"Yes, a werewolf. Don't worry, we're not with whoever that was." I told him.
"Seriously Cora? You're scaring him." Derek told me in irritation. I scowled at my mate.
"Good, because he needs to be scared. He needs to understand if he's going to make a decision." I snapped.
"Make a decision, what decision?" Isaac asked curiously. Derek and I turned back to the boy.
"On whether you want to become one as well." Derek responded.
"Why me?" Isaac asked.
"Because we know about your dad Isaac." I told him, giving him a sad smile. "And we need a pack."
"Why?"
"Because we're stronger in a pack. Literally and figuratively." Derek told the boy.
"But what does my- my dad have to do with it?" Isaac asked.
"Well for starters, I have this annoying moral compass that tells me I shouldn't give someone the bite unless they need it." I responded, with a sigh. I could practically feel Derek roll his eyes at me.
"Some one that needs it?"
"Yes, someone who has a shitty life, like an abusive father for example." I quipped, I stared at my nails for a moment and willed them to grow out.
"Taking the bite, becoming a werewolf… It would make you heal quickly, you'd be faster and stronger than any human could ever fathom being." Derek told him. I stared at my nails, how childish would it be of me to carve "psychotic bitch" into the grave stone?
Don't. I pouted as Derek's voice flitted through my mind.
Buzzkill.
"Yes. I want it." Isaac rushed out. I looked up at him.
"Hang on. You haven't heard about the crappy things that come with being a werewolf." I told him.
"I don't care. I want to be able to protect myself." Isaac responded firmly. I rolled my eyes.
"Well it's not all sunshine and fucking rainbows kid. When you're new, you don't have control. You could easily hurt or kill someone because you get to angry or emotional. You also don't have control on the full moon. If you got out, there's a good chance you'd kill someone."
"Okay, but you guys can teach me, right?" Isaac asked.
"Yes." Derek responded firmly.
"Alright well there are hunters. You're digging a grave for one of them right now." I told him motioning with my hand towards the hole. "They're human, but they have all sorts of gear and are trained their whole lives to kills specifically werewolves, and we're about to have one of the biggest gatherings of the dicks right here in good old Beacon Hills." I told him trying to sway him from the idea.
"But I'll have you guys to protect me and teach me to protect myself. Why are you trying so hard to talk me out of this? You guys came to me." Isaac snapped. I snarled, as my eyes flashed red at the boy's tone, my wolf taking it as a challenge. Derek placed a hand on my arm to calm me down and Isaac took a threatened step back.
"Because if you accept the bite, we're your Alpha's. That means we're responsible for you."
"I get it, okay? I do I swear. It's dangerous and scary and out of control, but so is my life! Ever- ever since Cam died, my life has just been one giant shit hole." Isaac said, and my heart cried out for the boy.
Alright. Do it. I directed Derek. My mate stepped forward.
"Give me your arm." Isaac pulled up his sleeve and held his arm out to Derek.
"Do you, Isaac Lahey, accept the bite of your own free will and swear your allegiance to Derek and I as your Alpha's?" I asked.
"Yes." Isaac responded breathlessly. Derek's eyes turned red and his fangs grew, as he bit into the boys arm I felt a surge rush threw me and my eyes flashed red for a moment. Suddenly a scream pierced the air, Isaac didn't hear it, but Derek and I glanced worriedly at each other.
"Lydia." I breathed out looking around curiously.
"I'm going to go and see about buying the property." I told Derek the next morning over breakfast. He nodded as he took a bite of his food.
"I'm going to go check on Isaac."
"Don't be too creepy." I told him with a wink as I stood and placed my plate in the sink. I walked around the table to Derek. I leaned down and gave him a kiss, I smiled at the contentment that flowed between us as our lips connected.
"Are you going to be okay by yourself?" Derek asked, I could feel he was referring to my temper. I smiled innocently.
"Scout's honor, I'll be good." He rolled his eyes and turned back to his food.
"You were never in the scouts." I pinched his cheek and laughed at the irritated look he gave me.
"It's the principle of the matter dear."
"That doesn't make any sense."
"Your face doesn't make any sense." Derek gave me a blank look before just shaking his head an amused smile on his face.
"I swear, sometimes I think you're five years old." I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before heading towards the door.
After coming back from the county office, I went into the bar to help Anna and Jessica out. As I walked in Anna waved at me and threw me an apron.
"Table seven was asking for ya." I turned curiously and eyed the table. I cursed under my breath. It was a group of hunters, not Argents thankfully, but I was going to have to be cautious. I tied the apron around my waist quickly and headed over plastering a smile on my face.
"Well, well, well. Look what the cat dragged in." I said with a smirk as I stopped in front of the three men. Two were in their early 30's and the other his late 20's. Mike, the 20 something year old was a hunter I had run into during a hunt with Uncle Bobby, and the other two, Rich and Jason, I had met a handful of times when visiting the Roadhouse before it had burnt down.
"Aren't you a sight for sore eyes." Mike said a smirk on his face. I smiled sweetly.
"What're you boys doing out this way?" I asked curiously, even though I was sure of the reason.
"Kate Argent's funeral. Worked with her on a wolf gig a few years back. Figured we'd come pay our respects. You going to the funeral?" Jason asked. I snorted.
"If I go, I'm going to get kicked out for dancing on the bitch's grave." Mike snorted at my reply while Jason and Rich stared at me bewildered.
"This have anything to do with the rumors floating around, she was the one burned the Hale's alive?" Rich asked with a raised eyebrow.
"It's not a rumor, considering she was the only one other than me in town at the time of the fire that knew about the Hale's." I replied, trying to keep calm at the topic, not wanting to flash my eyes at the hunter's.
"Are we talking about the Hale pack?" Mike asked curiously. "Like Talia Hale." I nodded.
"Yeah, Cora here grew up best friends with one of the little wolves, makes our girl here a bit sympathetic to all the filthy beasts." Jason quipped, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, focusing on the bond. Derek's emotions were calm and steady. I reached out further towards him until I could practically feel his heart beating, the steady beat helping me to decrease my heart rate.
"You better watch your mouth, Jason. I won't have you disrespecting good people in my bar." I told him opening my eyes as I calmed. Jason snorted, and rolled his eyes.
"Jason, shut up. You're being a dick. We all know the Hale's were good wolves. Talia kept them in line and worked with other Alpha's to keep their packs in line." Mike spoke up in irritation. Jason shrugged and took a sip of his beer, not speaking again.
"You guys eating or not?" I asked sending Mike a thankful smile. Mike nodded, as did Rich, while Jason just shook his head.
"I'll take a burger and fries." Mike told me with a smile.
"I'll take the same kid." Rich responded. I nodded and turned heading to the kitchen. I dropped the ticket off to Miles and went back behind the bar and grabbed a couple extra beers, for the group of hunters. I dropped them off and went back to behind the bar. I told Anna and Jessica to just worry about the tables and I'd take care of the bar and help run food.
I served a few drinks before, Rich and Mike's food was up. Anna came up to me once I was back behind the bar.
"What's up with them?" She asked curiously, turning so she was facing the behind bar mirror and watching the group from that. I rolled my eyes.
"Just some hunter's in town for the funeral." She quirked her eyes.
"Argent's?" I shook my head, and began to wipe down the bar top.
"Nah, just some hunter's that worked with Kate once. In the area figured they'd pay their respects."
"You good? I felt you almost shift." I smiled at her.
"I'm good, bud. How're you? Heard from Dean since he left?" I asked curiously. She rolled her eyes.
"No, and I don't expect to hear from him for a while. He agreed to be there for the kid, but we aren't going to try dating or anything." Anna responded, I smirked.
"Uh. Huh just you wait. That's what my parents said too, and look how that turned out." She scowled at me and walked away. I snickered and began washing some of the glasses that had accumulated. I dropped off the checks to Mike and the other guys. Rich and Jason paid quickly and took off while Mike just sat down across from me.
"Think I'm going to stay and drink for a bit."
"You're going to miss the funeral." Mike shrugged and sent me a wink.
"I didn't know her all that well, kinda always gave me the creeps. Plus, the company's better here anyway." I rolled my eyes and handed him another beer.
"Kissing my ass ain't gonna get you free drinks dude." I told him with a laugh.
"Who says I'm trying to get free drinks?" He asked with a smirk. "So, uh, I heard you and Winchester ended things…" Mike trailed off. I nodded and continued with the dishes as he spoke.
"Mhhmm." I hummed out. I smiled as the door opened and Derek entered, making his way to the bar.
"You think you'd wanna go out for a couple drinks or something after you get out?" Mike asked and I tried not to laugh as I felt a spike of anger shoot through Derek.
"As sweet as it is of you to offer, I'm gonna have to decline. I don't think my boyfriend would appreciate that too much." I told him nodding to Derek who dropped down onto a stool next to Mike. Derek's glare burned into Mike causing him to shrink back and grimace slightly in embarrassment.
"Uh, shit. I'm sorry man. I didn't know she was seeing anyone." Mike apologized, glancing back and forth between Derek and I warily causing me to chuckle.
"Ease up D. Mike this is my boyfriend Derek Hale. Derek this is Mike Rawlins. He's a hunter, met him on a salt and burn with Uncle Bobby a few years back." I introduced the two men. Mike's eyes widened at Derek's last name.
"You're dating a Hale?" Mike asked in shock. I snickered at the amazed look on his face.
"Little more than dating him." I said pulling down the collar of my shirt to show off my mating mark.
"Cora!" Derek scolded, worry and irritation shooting through the bond as I showed off my mark to a hunter. I rolled my eyes.
"Relax, Derek. I trust Mike. He's a good guy." I told him sending calming waves to him.
"Damn girl. Bet your Uncle was just thrilled about that." Mike remarked taking a sip of his beer.
"You'd be surprised how well he took it. Pretty sure he figured it was coming most of my life." Mike shot me a questioning look.
"We grew up together. Cora was always in love with me." Derek said with a cocky smirk on his face. I rolled my eyes and threw my washrag at him. Mike snickered at the display.
"Want something to drink, shit bag?"
"I'll take a Jameson and coke, dick breath." I scowled at Derek, as I felt the intent behind his drink of choice.
"I hate you." I told him as I made the drink. "You know that's my favorite. You're just being petty." Derek smiled innocently at me. Mike looked curiously between us, but ignored it changing the topic.
"So, what happened to the Alpha that got Kate?" Mike asked curiously. I looked to Derek and his eyes flashed red at Mike.
"I killed him, for killing my sister."
Derek and Mike hung out at the bar for the rest of the day while I worked before Mike took off. Once my shift was over, after dark, Derek and I headed out to try and find the werewolf that was running around. We followed the scent to an ambulance, I could see Stiles at the scene talking with his Dad and I smiled at the sight.
We took off as we picked up the omega's trail again. I could pick up Scott's scent mixing with it, he must have been tracking him as well. When Derek and I caught up to the two, we watched for a moment as Scott tried to reason with the omega, who ended up tangled in a hunter's trap. I cursed as I heard the Argent's off in the distance. I rushed Scott and tackled him pulling him away from the omega so that we were out of sight. Scott struggled against me as I held him back, Derek next to us.
"Wait! Stop! What are you doing? I can help him." Scott pleaded, I grabbed him tighter, my new strength not allowing him to escape.
"It's too late." I ground out.
"They're already here." Derek added, Scott continued to struggle and I rolled my eyes.
"I can help him!"
"Quiet!" Derek snapped and I sighed as Scott finally settled down at the sight of the Argents. The Argents began to circle the omega, and Chris pulled out an electrified baton, using it to shift the omega back from his werewolf state.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Chris asked menacingly.
"Nothing. Nothing, I swear." The omega responded the fear evident in his voice.
"You're not from here, are you? Are you?!" Chris interrogated.
"No. No, I came - I came looking for the Alpha. I heard he was here. That's all. Look, I didn't do anything. I didn't hurt anyone. No one living. He wasn't alive in the ambulance. He wasn't, I swear." My heart cried out for the wolf, he had come looking for us, and we were just watching him get attacked.
"Gentlemen! Take a look at a rare sight. You wanna tell them what we've caught?" My eyes zeroed in on the voice and my blood ran cold.
"We are so fucking screwed." I breathed out fear coursing through me. Scott shot me a confused look and Derek tried to send me calming emotions through the bond, but it wasn't working.
"An Omega." Chris responded to his father's statement.
"The lone wolf! Possibly kicked out of his own pack. Or the survivor of a pack that was hunted down. Maybe even murdered. And possibly alone by his own choice. Certainly, not a wise choice. Because, as I am about to demonstrate - an Omega rarely survives - On his own." As Gerard spoke he pulled out a sword and the omega started struggling against his bonds. My heart broke at the terrified look on his face. Gerard reared back and swung severing the omega's body in half. Scott tried to turn his head away, but I pushed him back to make him look. He needed to see what they were capable of.
"Look. Look. Look at them! You see what they do? This is why you need me. Why we need each other. The only way to fight them is together." Derek told Scott harshly. I could tell Scott felt nauseous at the sight as his face all, but turned green.
"What are they doing?"
"Declaring war." Derek and I answered at the same time, turning back to watch the hunters.
"We have a code." Chris scolded his father.
"Not when they murder my daughter. No code. Not anymore. From now on, these things are just bodies waiting to be cut in half. Are you listening? Because I don't care if they're wounded and weak. Or seemingly harmless - begging for their life with the promise that they will never, ever hurt anyone. Or some desperate, lost soul with no idea what they're getting into. And Cavanaugh, I don't care if she's just mated to a wolf, she's just as responsible. We find them. We kill them. We kill them all."
I shivered at the speech, a horrible feeling rolling over me. My hand instinctively went to my stomach and Scott look curiously to me. I felt Derek's hand link with mine and he pulled me away from the scene, Scott following behind us.
"Are you okay Aunt C?" Scott asked once we were far enough away that we couldn't hear the Argents anymore. My breathing kicked up slightly and I looked to Derek as panic started to overwhelm me.
"Cora, babe, you need to breath. You're having a panic attack."
"Aunt Cora? Derek why the hell is she having a panic attack? She doesn't have panic attacks!" Scott said panic lacing his voice. I began to hyperventilate, thoughts of Gerard coming after me, and by extension my baby consumed me and my legs began to shake. I felt Derek pull me to him and I tried using his heart beat to steady myself, but it wasn't working. I could feel him probing my mind sending me calming thoughts, trying to figure out what got me so riled up. He placed a hand on each side of my face forcing me to look into his eyes.
"Cora. Listen to me. Gerard isn't going to get anywhere near you. Okay? Do you hear me? I promise. I'll keep you safe. You and the baby." I felt myself begin to calm, as Derek's calm, protectiveness and determination flowed over me, covering me like a security blanket. I nodded and leaned forward placing my forehead against his and inhaling his scent. Scott's voice, a few pitches higher than normal, broke through ending out moment.
"B- Did you just say baby?!"
