So this chapter I maybe added a few extra lines, but before I got a complain about how this one chapter was in Edwards point of view while the rest were not. So besides the few extra lines (about 200 words more) I made it into 3 person. It is like all the other chapters now.

please enjoy!

Roy woke up the next day not remembering where he was. He had not been home for a little over a week so it took him a moment to remember why he was back, and then it hit him. Edward was here. He was back. He opened his eyes and noticed his bed was empty beside him. He popped up and looked around.

"Edward?"

He would have thought it was just a dream if it wasn't for the fact that the other side of the bed was not made. He got up and checked the bathroom. When he didn't find Edward there he left the room and went down to the kitchen where he found Edward sitting on a chair by the dining room table with coffee in his hands. He sighed a moment of relief and Edward turned around.

"Morning." Edward looked a little awkward to be in there and Roy did not understand why?

"Good morning, are you okay?"

"Yeah it is just feels a little weird, you know?"

"No not really. I've wanted you to live here for over a year now and I have been dying to have you back for a week. Of course it wouldn't feel weird. It makes me so happy that you still are. When I woke up and didn't see you in bed I thought you had changed your mind and left."

"Oh…" Ed looked up at Roy then back down at his cup of half drunken coffee. "Sorry."

"No Edward do not be sorry. Anyway I am going to make breakfast. Is there anything you would like in particular?"

"Hmm not really. Anything is good."

Roy went to the fridge and opened the door. Once he looked inside he regretted it. Everything in the fridge was expired. Even the milk was moldy so pancakes are out of the question. He did not have any eggs. Roy shut the door and walked to the pantry. There was not much in there either. He really wanted to make something for Edward. He was bothered that Edward felt awkward and he was hoping that if they ate it would help take the edge off the mood. He knew they could go out to eat but Roy wasn't sure if he was ready to share Ed with the world yet. He also wasn't sure if Edward would run away if left the room.

"We could just go out if you are hungry."

"Um yeah we can do that."

"What is wrong Roy?"

"It just I don't want to leave the house yet?"

"Why?"

"Because I don't want to share you, plus…"

"Plus?"

"Don't worry about it. Come on lets go get ready and go out to eat."

"Come on Roy tell me what is wrong. I thought we weren't going to keep things from each other."

"I know it's just I have acted pathetic enough. It is not like me to act nervous and pathetic."

"No it is not. Normally you are a bastard, but honestly I like when you are not acting cocky. I like the real Roy."

"But you fell for the cocky Roy."

"Yes but I am also falling for the real Roy."

"Hmm… I might be nervous that you will leave me if we leave the house…"

"I promise I won't leave you."

"Okay deal."

When they left the house Edward noticed Roy's hand shake slightly while locking the door. Ed knows it is because he made Roy nervous saying it felt weird to be there at the house. 'I can't help my own anxious feelings though. What if things go wrong? What if he changes his mind about me? How can I really know he loves me? This whole thing had just showed me that we have been going way to fast. It is good for us to slow down.'

They decide on a small café that is not typically crowded. While walking down the sidewalk Roy's hand ever so slightly brushes Edwards. Just a small touch from Roy made Edward's chest squeeze. 'I almost wish he didn't have this effect on me.' Ed glance at Roy as his hand brushes Ed's again. His head is almost hanging while his face has a look of worry and contemplation. Ed doesn't want him to look so troubled. He glanced down at their hands and tentatively linked their fingers together. Roy's head pops up and Ed thinks he looks relieved. Holding his hand feels awkward, but Ed know though it's only because of the confused feelings between them.

The café comes into view and a hostess leads them to a table outside. They order their drinks, and then stare at the menus even though Ed is sure they both know what they want. Roy glances at Ed over the menu and offers him a shy smirk. How could Ed not smirk back? 'Roy, who is known to be a player, is behaving shy for me. He sets down his menu and looks at me. It's obvious he wants to say something but can't word it. I set my menu down as well and wait for him to collect his thoughts.'

Just as Roy opens his mouth to speak the waiter comes and places their drinks on the table. After taking their orders the waiter once again leaves them in this silence. Ed look at Roy and he laughs slightly. He then asks Ed how he has been.

"I suppose I've been good, what about you?"

"Well you know damn paperwork."

This makes me laugh because I know he despises paperwork and is such a typical answer for him. At my laugh he gives a crooked smile and appears to relax a little.

"I thought you liked paperwork," Ed replies.

"Yea…I like it about as much as I like rain."

"You're useless in the rain," Ed teases.

"Well I sure can light a fire," Roy says winking at him. Immediately he blushes, whispering sorry.

The waiter thankfully chooses that moment to return with their food. They each quietly eat, keeping their gazes downward. Only occasionally does Ed glance up and catch Roy's gaze. Edward couldn't stand the silence. Apparently neither could Roy. They both look up and begin to speak. They both laugh at the obvious awkwardness. Roy tries to speak again but when he moves his hand he knocks his fork under the table. While picking it up he hits his head on the underside of the table, almost knocking our drinks over. When he sits up mumbling curses about silverware and glaring at the fork, Edward can't help but to laugh in earnest.

Hearing Edward's sincere laugh, Roy starts to join in. "I thought accidents like that only happened in movies."

"Maybe you should try out for a leading role in one."

Roy smirks at Ed. "Only if you agree to be my sidekick."

"Why do I have to be the sidekick!?"

"You have to be the sidekick because you're short."

"I'm not short!" I spoke a little too loud and other people in the café turned to see what the commotion was. I grimaced but then saw his eyes lit up in a teasing manner and couldn't resist laughing more.

"Speaking of movies, why don't we ditch this place and go watch one."

Ed smiles and says, "Nothing corny."

Tossing some cash to cover their expense Roy grabs his hand and leads Ed out of the café. The walk back to Roy's house is less tense than the walk to the café was. He keeps up an ideal small chat all the way back with only a few silent pauses. Once they reach his house Roy picks out an action movie. Everything was doing better until they were sitting on the couch. 'How should we sit? Do I touch him or let him touch me?'

They end up sitting close. Almost touching but not quite. So near, Ed can feel the warmth of Roy's skin against his arm. Suddenly Roy offers to get popcorn. When he returns with a large bowl it is easier to sit closer together. However sharing out of the same bowl makes Ed more conscious of their hands brushing against each other. When they reach into the bowl Edward also notices Roy's hand lingering slightly when it touches his. Ed glanced at him and he appears to be watching the movie. 'I don't know how. Being so close to him but not close at the same time is completely distracting me. I'm not even sure what the plotline of the movie is.'

Edward sighed and Roy glanced down at him and asked if he was alright. He reply that he was and Ed watched Roy's eyes lower to his lips. Edward's breath catches. Roy looks back up at Ed then down at his lips again, the movie completely forgotten about. Slowly Roy leans forward and lightly touches his lips to Edwards. Roy then draws back just a little, looking into his eyes to see his reaction. Edward doesn't oppose and he leans back in to kiss him again. This time there is a little more force behind his kiss. The kiss is still not overly forceful though and Ed can feel the tip of his tongue trace his bottom lip. Ed gasps and he takes advantage of his weakness. Roy's tongue enters Ed's mouth caressing his tongue. He lays Ed back on the couch, never breaking our kiss. Lying beneath him Ed begins to feel nervous. When the kiss intensifies Ed try his best not to get swept up in the moment. Roy presses against him and Ed feels his hardness against his thigh. It's like a cold splash of water. 'I don't want to do this. I'm not ready…we're not ready.' Ed breaks the kiss and gently pushes Roy back into a sitting position.

Roy looks extremely worried so Ed just points out that they aren't ready to go there.

"It's too soon to go that far again…"

"I know, I'm sorry ."

"It's alright Roy, we both were just getting carried away."

"I shouldn't have kissed you…" When he says this he looks so sad Ed desperately want to reassure him.

"I'm not saying that at all. It just shouldn't go further than that yet."

"I understand, and I agree."

"Let's finish the movie, if that's okay with you?"

He replies yes and they finish watching the movie. Ed never did understand what was going on after missing the first half. After turning off the television Roy goes to wash the popcorn bowl. Ed suddenly feels very tired and Roy comes back just as Ed is in the middle of a yawn.

"…Are you going to be sleeping in the guest bedroom?"

Taken aback, Ed realizes he hadn't thought about the sleeping arrangements again. He can't imagine sleeping under the same roof as him but not in the same bed again.

"No, I'll sleep with you…that is if it's okay."

Roy grabs Ed's hand as an answer and leads him to the bedroom. Once inside the bedroom Roy releases his hand. Walking to the other side of the room he turns his back to Ed and begins stripping down to his boxers. Ed quickly turns and does the same. Roy lets Ed crawl into the bed first, then lies next to him but doesn't touch him. The kiss and how he pushed Roy away plays like a scene on repeat in his head. 'Was I wrong to push him away? Maybe I should have gone further' Just as he thought the doubts and "what if's" would drive him crazy, Roy reaches over and laces his fingers with Ed's.

I'm then able to fall asleep, thinking that maybe things can be worked out.

Laying there so close to Ed, Roy think of the kiss. Was he wrong to kiss Ed? Should he have waited? 'I wish I hadn't done it…no that's not true. I'm glad I kissed Ed. I understand why he pushed me away though, I was being careless. He's so close right now but he feels a million miles apart. I can't stand the distance.' Reaching his hand over Roy laced their fingers together. A small grin spreads across his face and Roy feel reassured. Maybe he wants things to work out too.
