Here's the first chapter. Hope you like it.

For this chapter, I strongly recommend listening to Judas by Lady Gaga.

Crash is not mine. OC's are mine

Chapter 1 Trouble from the Past

3 months had passed since Crash Bandicoot's last adventure. The bandicoot sighed to himself as he practiced some new tricks with his yoyo. The cold wind beat against him, only to lose the battle thanks to the winter coat the bandicoot was wearing.

"I wonder if I should start a competition with my yoyo abilities." Crash said, as he practiced walking the dog.

"Crash that's stupid. If you wanted to do something talented, how about playing violin." His little sister Coco explained. The young bandicoot girl was collecting the last of wumpa fruit that she was planning topreserve for the winter season.

"Is that the last of the wumpa?" Crash asked.

"Yup! If you want to eat any fresh ones, you better pick the ones you want so I can preserve the rest."

"Then if I want fresh Wumpa Fruit during the winter, I'll have to pay 7.99 a pound." The older boy muttered, bitterly.

Coco rolled her eyes.

Aku Aku appeared from the trees.

"Hello children, how's your afternoon been?"

"With the exception of the cold weather; it's been good." Said Crash.

Throughout the air, the demonic laughter that the fisherman had heard seemed to ring all them. Almost making the wind more cold than it already was. Crash and Coco felt some of the fur on their on arms stand up. To there surprise however, AkuAku looked horrified.

"What was that?" Coco asked innocently.

"He's free!? It can't be!" Aku whispered to himself.

"Aku what's wrong?" Asked Crash.

"Children, please come into the house, there's something I must tell you."

The two youths slowly walked inside the house. In front of the roaring fireplace was the little polar bear cub Polar, fast asleep.

Crash chuckled as he petted the baby cub's tummy.

"Sometimes I think you really are a dog."

The floating mask instructed the two to sit.

"Where did that laughter come from?" Coco asked. "Do you know who it belonged to?"

"Yes. You see; that laughter belonged to the demon mask, UkaUka." The kind mask said, morbidly

"Uka Uka! Whose he?" Asked Crash.

"He's incredibly powerful evil spirit that tried t set ruin to the world many years ago. He almost would had succeeded; if I hadn't been able to seal him in his underground prison at the temple on the small island near the mainland."

"Did you know him?" Coco asked.

Aku sighed as he answered. "Yes, we were mortal enemies… We were also brothers."

"He's your brother?!" Crash asked stunned.

"Yes. I used all my magic to seal him; making sure he would never again plague the world. That's why I stayed on the islands; to make sure that he would never be freed again. But now, he's been freed once again."

"Will he try to plague the world again?" Crash asked.

"More than likely. What he plans to do, I don't know. All I know is that he must be stopped."

Coco could feel a coldness spread across her. She felt she needed to go to the little island to find some answers for herself.

"Aku, do you think the library on the mainland can give us some answers about your brother, and he may want from us?" Crash asked. (Crash wanting to go the library? It seems so unlike him XD)

"That actually doesn't seem like a bad idea." Aku said.

The two walked towards the transporter.

"Coco, you coming?" Crash asked.
"I'm gonna stay here. I want to collect the rest of the harvested wumpa before it rots and I have to feed Polar soon." Coco lied.

"okay then; we'll be back in a few hours." The two were gone.

Coco immediately ran out of the house knowing exactly where she wanted to go. Only she wanted to do it by herself; she didn't want Aku Aku to become worried, or Crash to become enraged and do something he would regret.

After a good walk and a boat ride, Coco had reached the foreboding island. The sun completely set and darkness surrounded her. The small girl took out her flashlight as tried to find the steps that would lead her inside the temple. After walking through the cold dense jungle, Coco found the steps that would lead her inside the temple.

The young girl slowly walked up the steps where she found a trail that led her inside the dark temple, using the flashlight to guide her way.

It wasn't very long when she heard the sound of voices not very far off. Coco tiptoed to a small dimly lit chamber.

Inside the chamber was a large wooden floating mask. The mask was painted black with dark intricate designs painted along his face; and what looked like human bones dangling from his head and a brown goatee hanging from his chin.

Kneeling before him, was Dr. Cortex. The scientist's eyes were fearful but a cold glare was plastered on his face.

Behind Cortex, were two females. The first girl looked to be of Japanese origin. Her beautiful features were set into an emotionless state and a dangerous weapon was at her side. The second girl seemed to be from South America. Coco thought she remembered her name was Ramona. Ramona's cold glare gleamed as she stared at the floating mask.

Coco stayed hidden as she listened to the conversation.

"No one dares to fail me even once! You Cortex, have failed me TWICE!" The mask bellowed.

"Great Uka Uka; you must understand, I had come close to achieving my goals twice." Cortex protested.

"But, you failed none the less." The mask snarled.

"I would have been successful; if it weren't for this bandicoot boy I created." Cortex growled.
"From my underground prison, I have given you the means that would help you achieve world domination. Even then; you still could not succeed!"

Cortex growled but still remained on his knees. He was afraid the mask would take him down if he really wanted to. But, at the same time, he did need this mask help to unleash his reign of terror. He refused to admit it, but he was in a jam.

"I do not like my involvement to be wasted; those who waste it, I simply do away with. However, my new found freedom is making me feel, generous." The mask said, calming down

Cortex lowered his head so Uka Uka couldn't see the smirk on his face.

"Thank you, Great Uka Uka! I will make sure to make my efforts, and your resources worthwhile."

Coco felt her heart pounding. How could this demonic mask that had great power his own; be in allies with a manipulative monster like Cortex?

"I have an idea that could us back on fighting grounds." Uka Uka stated.

"What exactly do you have in mind? Cortex asked, who remained kneeling.

The floating mask tilted his head at one side of the room. There, entered a tall blue skinned man that seemed be wearing some type of armor over his lab coat. His face was twisted into a cold sneer.
"This is Dr. Nefarious Trophy. He is mastered in time travel and has invented the time Twister Machine; allowing anyone to travel back to specific era in the world and shape it the way they see fit."

"Do you believe that we would be able to recollect the crystals and gems?" Cortex asked, his face expressionless.

Uka Uka eyed him suspiciously. "I believe we would be able to."

"Once I recollect the crystals; I will rebuild my Cortex Vortex, and re fire it on the Earth." The scientist grinned.

"One second Cortex, I want something in return." The mask frowned.

Cortex growled, but his widened in fear as he felt Uka Uka charge his power.

"What do you want in return?"

"I want to be allowed to wreck havoc on the world as you command your reign of terror." Uka Uka stated simply.

Cortex was reluctant but decided not to go against it. He despised and feared what UkaUka could do to him. But, at the same, being able to obtain some of the mask's power wouldn't be such a bad thing and even a great force for him.

"I shall honor my end the bargain…. Midori!" Cortex called to the first girl.

The girl on the left walked up to scientist, bowing.

"What is your request, Master Cortex sama?" She said with great respect.

"I need you to report to the minions about this new plan, and I want them to ready. We will be sending them through the time twister to eras of my choice."

"I will obey." Midori saluted before running off.

"You follow her!" Cortex ordered Ramona.

"Yes sir." Ramona replied, running after Midori.

"Let's return to the lab to prepare everything." Cortex commanded.

Everyone walked out of them room.

Coco was tempted to go home, but she knew she needed to follow them. Holding her communication device in her hands, she turned it on incase Crash tried to contact her.

The young girl walked down several more passages until saw a door to a large room that had the enhanced humans. All of them were preparing their disguises for when they would be transported to their designated time periods.

Coco run down some more halls to find Uka Uka, Cortex, N. Trophy, and N. Gin were at the main control certain for the time twister.

"This plan will not fail. Crash doesn't even know what's going on…" smirked.

"Not until I tell him!" Coco found herself saying out loud.

"Who said that?" Uka Uka demanded.

Coco, knowing she was exposed, emerged from the shadows.

"Coco… What are you doing here?!" Cortex demanded.

"I sensed something was fishy so I came here. I know I was right."

"Troublesome child. You do not seem so threatening." UkaUka scoffed.

Coco cursed herself for being too young and not that strong.

"You won't be amused when Crash and Aku Aku find out!"

"I highly doubt that, child. My brother must be long gone by now." The mask laughed.

"I'm still here." Aku Aku's voice came from one of the monitors.

They turned to see Crash and the floating mask had found their way to the base of the machine on the edge of the temple.

Aku Aku's face was shaped with a firm glare while Crash looked enraged.

"Well Crash, it seems you've followed me here…" Cortex could sense that Crash was still upset about what had happened last time; looking like he was ready to lunge at any given time.

"So have you been these last few months?" Cortex mockingly cooed.

"Better once I get my hands on you!" Crash snarled lunging towards the monitor.

Cortex smiled; it felt so good to tear at Crash's mental wounds every now and then.

Uka Uka stared long and hard at the two.

"So my feeble brother, you have sealed your soul in the mask to remain in the world of the living as well?" Uka Uka asked, uncaring.

"Yes; I would do anything to make sure that you remained in your prison."

"That was then brother, this is now. Now I will finish what I was destined to do!" Uka Uka bellowed

"And you Cortex, I can't believe that you've teamed up with him. How could you do something like this?"

"Simple, with UkaUka at my side, I will take control of this planet."

"Greed, nothing more, nothing less."

Cortex simply sucked the air to show he didn't care.
Crash attempted to lunge again; but stopped himself when he realized that Cortex was only on the monitor.

"It doesn't matter anyway; now that I have perfected the time twister." N. Trophy said for the first time, in a thick British accent.

"Time twister?" Coco asked.

"The time twister machine will allow anyone to travel to any point in time to warp it as they see fit."

"I won't let you do that!" Crash snarled.

"You're welcome to follow us, but it will only lead you to your demise. Your choice."

Crash and Aku growled before they ran to the hubs and jumped in.

Coco took the opportunity to jump into the portal as well.

Cortex eyed N. Trophy.
"I trust you know what your doing. I will not tolerate defeat for a third time."

"Uka Uka thinks highly of me for good reason. Those little vermin won't get far."

"They better not!"
"I shall prove they won't doctor." disappeared through the portal.
N. Gin walked up to Cortex.
"Dr. Cortex, I will go after the siblings myself. I want to be sure I keep them on the taps." said, coldy

"Do as you wish, but Crash Bandicoot is mine."

"Of course, Dr. Cortex." N. Gin walked through the portal and disappeared.

Cortex scanned the monitors; viewing all the time periods. A cold smile formed slowly on his face.

"You will learn Crash."

That's it for the first chapter. Read and Review.
