Hey everybody, here's the third chapter.
Crash is not mine. OC's are mine
Chapter 2 Medieval Express
Coco had landed in what looked like to be imperial China. She walked along the path of the very Great Wall of China; just was being built.
Numerous workers were adding parts along the road. Not even noticing the small girl as she walked along the road.
The air was crisp and cold that Coco had been glad she still had her coat on. Imperial China must have been having its fall season as well.
"YOU! STOP!." A female voice ordered, harshly.
Coco turned around to see the one minion from back in the temple. Only now she was dressed in what looked like a ninja's outfit.
What do you want?" Coco demanded, trying her best to sound brave.
"I am Midori; one of the head assistants. I have found you guilty of treason against Dr. Cortex." The assistant snarled.
"I am guilty of treason? You're the one guilty for betraying society, and all that is good in this world."
"Whatever way you see it: by order of Dr. Cortex, you are to be sentenced to death."
"No way! I am not going to let you stop me, I have crystals and gems to find."
Midori's masked face contorted into a small smirk.
"Well then, let's see if you can out wit me."
The assistant pulled out a dangerous samurai sword, ready to pounce. Coco refused to admit she was scared; as she knew there was no way that she was going to be to be able the female ninja.
"Hey look! It's my brother!" Coco blurted.
Midori turned and the little girl took the opportunity to make a break for it. Midori realizing she was tricked, took down after the small girl.
Meanwhile, Crash and Aku Aku had been sent to what looked like medieval Europe.
Crash looked around the villages and towns and could see a large castle in the background; convinced it was the home to a king.
"Think there is a crystal or gem around here?" Crash asked the mask.
"There should be a crystal and a gem near the gates of the castle."
Crash sighed as he started to jog a little. The towns people so far had not taken notice of him. If they did notice him; they were either clueless, or honestly really care. The roads were filled with goats and chickens that were brought to town for trading. The smell of the leather and metal seemed to fill the pair's noses as they walked around the numerous market stations. So far everything was going smooth as they made their way to the castle.
"Hey bandicoot! Stop right there!" Came young males voice.
Crash turned to see Craig dressed as a blacksmith; holding his horrific cattle prod in his hands.
"I find that outfit fitting for you." Crash responded, sarcastically.
Craig furrowed his brow as he stared at the bandicoot.
"You know bandicoot, I'm still a little peeved about you throwing me into those wires. So I figured I still want to do something about it. Do you know what I want to do?"
"Pretend it never happened?" Crash asked, stupidly.
"No... I want to give you another shock of the cattle prod! Hopefully this time, you won't get back up.
Crash without warning, double jumped into the air and landed on Craig's back. He then jumped again and took off running down the path with Aku behind him.
"I really hate when he does that!" Craig growled, charging up his cattle prod and started after the bandicoot.
Meanwhile in Imperial China; Coco was having problems of her own. She was trying to outrun the Ninja assistant Midori. However, this was proving to be difficult, since the ninja was quite fast, very agile and had a dangerous sword.
The only advantage Coco had was because of her size, she was able zip past obstacles quickly. But, she knew this had to end one way or another.
Not far off, the small girl noticed a baby tiger standing along the path. She was in awe of this magnificent creature but knew that she had to use it to lose Midori. Coco crept towards the cub quietly before she jumped in the air landing on it's back. The tiger cub immediately sped down the path.
"I should get ahead now." Coco said to herself.
Her hopeful thoughts were short lived when she noticed numerous workers littering all across the path.
"GET OUT OF THE WAY!" Coco screamed, trying to move her way past the workers.
However, she had realized that the workers didn't speak English and didn't understand what she had meant when she came crashing into them. Cries of surprise were littered among the path as she tried her best not to run anyone over.
On another part of the great wall, Coco had noticed Midori was riding horseback, trying to keep up with the bandicoot and the baby tiger.
"Ah! The chase is on!" The ninja grinned, sadistically.
Coco gently kicked the cub as they were about to run into a barrel of bricks. The cub noticed this as she zipped to the right. Midori commanded her horse to jump on the path that Coco and the baby tiger were on.
The female drew her sword in the air, ready to strike.
"These great walls will run red with your blood." Midori responded in a low voice, swiping her weapon at Coco.
Coco yelped as she ducked the sword, barely missing.
"I shall not fail, it's a matter of honor." Midori growled.
"You don't seem very honorable to me." Coco responded, trying her best to stay ahead.
"You will learn the meaning of honor when I'm done her!." Midori again swiped her sword and Coco barely managed to dodge.
"As long as I'm still kicking, I won't lose!" Coco shouted back.
Midori started to softly speak Japanese to her horse. Coco unsure what she was saying; until she felt the horse kick the baby tiger and she was sent flying down the road. Coco groaned to herself as she looked up to see Midori dismounting from her horse and coming towards the small girl.
"You've led quite a chase, but you were no match for me!" The ninja laughed coldly as she drew her sword.
"You cheated; kicking a baby animal was not fair!" Coco growled.
"Dr. Cortex taught us not to fight fair! He taught us to unleash are animal instincts!"
Coco tried to crawl to away but she was in far too much pain to move.
She looked up at Midori; only seeing her blood red eyes that seemed completely glazed over.
"Any final words before I cut you into pieces?"
"Yeah… You'll never get away with this!"
"I already have bandicoot! I already have!"
Midori raised her sword to swipe when she felt something sharp go into her leg. She looked down to see the baby tiger was sinking her teeth as far as they could go into Midori's leg.
The ninja howled and tried to budge the animal off, but the little cub kept her teeth clamped.
"You nuscience get off me!" Blood was starting to taint the light blue pants of the ninja's uniform.
Finally, the tiger unlatched her teeth. Midori's legs were shaking as she tried to stay standing. Her right leg was cover in blood.
"Enjoy this little victory while you can! Once my leg is properly treated, we will meet again!" She then threw something to the ground causing smoke to engulf her. WHen the smoke cleared, she was gone.
The baby tiger walked over to Coco; bending down a little bit to help her get on her back.
The two rode off a little longer until the came to the gates of what looked like a palace. In front of the gate, was a crystal and a gem. Right as the bandicoot touched them, a vortex a appeared allowing them to head back. Coco and her new pet, which she named Pura, jumped into the portal heading back to the hub.
Meanwhile, Crash was nearing the gates of the castle with Craig was still on his tail.
"Give it up Craig! You know I'm going to outrun you!" Crash said, grinning.
"Hmph! You're even stupid enough to not to look ahead when your running."
Crash suddenly felt the familiar blinding light around him.
"Common sense Crash." The floating mask groaned.
Crash looked down to see at knife at his feet; when he noticed Valerie dressed in a green dress. Looking at him with an irritated expression.
"You always have to have that mask, don't you?" She her voice was no longer childlike, but still filled with instability.
"Nice to see you to Valerie." Crash spat back; amazed that he once called her a friend.
Valerie walked up and picked up her knife.
"I find it amazing that you've managed to outwit me twice, and spin dash Craig into a bunch live wires."
Craig shot her a look.
"Well you know, I'm filled with surprises." Crash said, carefully.
"Tsk... Luck is more like it." Craig replied, bitterly.
Crash looked at them; yes they were ruthless killers, but he knew it wasn't their choice for what happened to them. Whatever was the experiment that Cortex had done to them, left horrific results.
"Look, I know you guys weren't always like this. How did fate let this happen?"
Valerie and Craig clutched their weapons in rage when pain fell in their eyes.
My father and I... Got into a huge fight and I left the house. While I was taking a walk, I ran into some jerks from school, and they jumped me. I fled, I was hit by a bus."
Valerie's eyes widened. "You never told me that."
"Well I'm trying to forget that. There was so much blood; the doctors had no hope for me and were amazed I wasn't dead yet. Believe me, I wanted to be." My father never came to see me, as far as I knew. Dr. Cortex did; he said there was a way to save me and I would feel better than ever. He gave me something and next thing I knew, I woke up ready to serve."
"I'm sorry for what happened to you, but I'm not sorry you made the wrong choices."
"You know nothing of me." Craig snarled.
"You Valerie?" Crash asked.
"It's hard to remember; I remember very little when I have my manic episodes. But, I had an unfeeling mother who is a high ranking senator; who couldn't accept the fact that I was born this way. There was some incident I don't even remember happening. The incident is why I was sent to the mental institution, then everything happen." Valerie's voice seemed so far away.
Her knife seemed to dangle at her side. Craig's cattle prod slid out of his hands.
"Take your prizes and go?" Craig finally said with pure venom.
Crash and the mask walked away.
The two assistants looked numbly at the ground.
"What will we tell Dr. Cortex?" Craig asked.
"I'll think of something." Valerie sighed.
The two assistants walked inside the castle to find numerous assistants standing around, with busy tending to Midori's leg wound.
"Argh! Could you be anymore rough?!" She snarled.
"Had you finished off the little girl, this wouldn't of happened." N. Gin responded, coldly.
"Like I said; it was that baby tiger, it clamped it jaws onto my leg."
"Hmph, that's a pretty petty defeat."
"I wasn't the one to be defeated by steel wumpa fruits."
Midori immediately regretted her words when squirted antiseptic on her leg, giving her a stinging pain.
"Never mind." She grinned, nervously
looked up when he noticed Valerie and Craig.
"Did you stop Crash?" asked.
"He got away." Valerie breathed quietly.
"I see." replied. coldly.
"That's it." Craig asked. uneasily
"I'll send you after Crash again at another time, and you will get time for sure that time. After all, Dr. Cortex is not as forgiving as I am."
"What about the little one?" An assistant asked in the corner.
roughly wrapped the bandage around Midori's leg.
"You're done, redress it in 24 hours. In the meantime; rest up, I'm going to send you after girl again."
"Perfect! I'll get her and her little tiger too." Midori grinned, evilly.
Uka Uka emerged from shadows.
"The three of you couldn't finish your task." The mask replied, lowly.
Midori's features were furrowed.
"I fought with honor; I would have succeeded if it weren't for my leg… I don't know what their deal was."
Uka Uka looked at Midori's leg, then used his magic to completely heal it.
"You need to be at full strength for your next encounter. I will not heal you if you fail again."
"At your command, Uka Uka San." Midori bowed, her voice uneasy.
"I know you two let Crash go."
"He made us bring up some painful memories, we were in no shape to retaliate." Valerie protested.
"I WILL NOT TOLERATE FAILURE." Uka Uka roared.
"Tell Dr. Cortex that we shall not fail this time." Craig smiled under his mask.
"You better not." UkaUka disappeared back into the shadows.
"Minions, return to your posts." commanded.
"Yes, Dr. ." The minions replied, walking out of the castle."
"We cannot fail Dr. Cortex this time." said, coldly
