Crash is not mine. OC are mine
Chapter 3 The Briny Blue
Coco was sitting in the hub, waiting for her brother to return. Her body was still quite sore but she was able to move again. Pura was at her feet drinking some milk that Coco had given her.
After some time, Crash came back to the hub with a crystal and 2 gems.
"Dinosaurs, some many dinosaurs, and smelly murky water! Ugh... What's next?" The older bandicoot groaned.
"Crash, I'm getting signals from two crystals." Coco said, looking at her tracking device.
"Where are they?"
"One is under the sea; around the time at Atlantis was lost. The other is during the 17th or 18th century of the time of pirates."
"I'll take Atlantis… I could use a bath."
"It's the ocean; nothing but salt water." Coco protested
"I don't care; as long as the muck or whatever it is, is off my fur."
Coco sighed as she changed into some scuba gear handing some gear to Crash.
"Put this suit on. With the cold weather, you'll get hypothermia."
"Thank you. baby sister." Crash cooed.
"Save it for Cortex." Coco scoffed.
"Cortex! Where is he!?" Crash's baby expression was suddenly replaced with pure rage. Frightened Coco a little.
"Well… I'm going now… See ya." Coco said, collecting her bearings.
"Yeah! The sooner I collect these crystals, the sooner I can kick Cortex's ass." With a dark look, Crash disappeared in the hub.
Coco sighed as she looked at Pura.
"Be a good girl until I get back." Coco ordered, gently.
The little cub mewed before curling up and going to sleep.
Coco jumped into the hub, sending her to the desired location. Before she realized it, she was surrounded by a blue light when an image of Tiny appeared.
"Eek!" Coco replied.
"Crash, Coco stealing pretty crystals from Tiny! Tiny really mad!" The bulking tiger practically screamed.
"Tiny! What are you doing?!" Coco asked, caught off guard.
"Tiny bring crystals to Coliseum in Rome!"
"Well your out of luck Tiny, 3 out of the five crystals are gone." Coco smirked.
"Coco! Leave crystals for Tiny, or Tiny smash!" The image of Tiny faded away as Coco found herself sitting on a jet ski upon the briny blue.
"The crystals and gems must be more important then I thought possible. I better search for them before any of the minions find them." Coco thought to herself.
The small girl powered up her jet ski and raced along the waters. As she traveled the clear blue water, views of different islands and pirate ships that glided across the water were a site to see.
Large cannonballs moved her way leading the bandicoot to swerve her vehicle quickly along the water making sure nothing damaged her jet ski.
Once she was in the clear, Coco continued her glide along the water when she noticed someone rowing there boat along. Coco cautiously approached; wanting to see who it was, shock rippled through when she saw it was one of Cortex's minions.
"Crap one of the bandicoots." The minion cried, as Coco sped away.
"Eagle to nest, eagle to nest… It's me… One of the bandicoots is here! Fire cannons on site!" The minion bellowed into his communicator.
Coco noticed cannons firing endless cannons at her.
"If I move quickly, then maybe I can get past." The girl thought to herself.
Coco zipped between the cannons making sure they didn't touch her. While she was moving past them, it was still easier said than done.
"I hope Crash is having a better time then I am."
Meanwhile, Crash was slowly swimming through depths of the ocean, carefully sneaking past sharks and predatory fish. The path was so dark, Crash had to resort to using an underwater flashlight.
While the path for the most part was smooth and quite clear, Crash's mind was anything but clear.
Crash could feel something bottled up inside him; something that he never truly felt in the time had existed, until now. Something one would call, rage.
The fact that his instincts told him that Cortex would be back, was really getting to him. Crash was still very upset about Cortex using him in his plans. He scolded himself for actually believing Cortex had changed his ways. He kicked himself for believing that they could finally have the father son relationship that he always wanted.
It was all a just one big lie. A lie that left him at the brink of defeat. Not to mention his best friend, Jan, almost died from head injuries, leaving her with no memory of what happened. Once again, she was probably thinking he didn't want her in his life anymore.
Crash noticed a shark charging toward him.
The bandicoot not in the mood to goof off, spun the shark with all his strength, sending it into a tangled mess of seaweed.
Once the shark was trapped, the bandicoot continued along the underwater trail.
Crash entered the dark caverns carefully swimming towards the other side. Crash felt a shock on his side when he noticed the electric force fields scattered around the cavern. How ironic one managed to shock him.
Crash snarled in anger before kicking the field with his foot, only to feel pain in his foot.
Crash felt himself quaking in anger; his bad mood was progressively building and building, and the thought of punching someone was getting better and better.
Crash finally swam out of the cavern to the other side, picking up a rock and threw it towards the cavern.
Crash took deep breaths to calm himself down; his anger was slowly starting to get the best of him. Anger was not going exact vengeance on Cortex any faster; anger was just going to cloud his judgment, making him do something that he would eventually regret. Crash kept his composure; he had learn from his mistake from the last time. He would not fall for any of Cortex's tricks again. He would collect the crystals and gems before Cortex did.
Crash continued done the path.
Meanwhile, Coco was continuing to evade a shower of cannons coming her way. The small bandicoot rode against any speed bumps so the cannons wouldn't be able to hit her. She then noticed another minion riding in a row take notice of her.
"Minions, the enemy has taken course north! Take course from that direction!"
Coco saw that the path was clear, for now. She continued along the path until she noticed a bizarre sight in front of her.
She noticed on one of the little islands a bandicoot that looked like her brother. Only this bandicoot was wearing dark green jeans, he had large bushy eyebrows and he had very large crooked looking teeth.
"Um hello there." Coco asked, confused.
"What the deuce?! Who the heck are you?!" The bandicoot asked, sounding like a complete redneck.
"It's me Coco, your sister." Coco answered.
"Never met y'all before in my life." The Crash look alike, stated.
That's when Coco realized this had to be some sort of Fake Crash.
"What's with y'all? Never seen a guy before?" He responded, her staring was creeping him out.
"No, it's just you remind me of my brother, Crash."
"That Crash guy? Golly, people say I look just like him. Don't you think?" Fake Crash grinned.
Coco grinned awkwardly at the bizarre bandicoot.
"To an extent."
"You sure are a pretty little lady. What's your name?"
Coco felt uneasy; but at the same time, she had a feeling this Fake Crash was relatively harmless.
"Coco." She smiled.
"That's pretty." Fake Crash smiled back.
The conversation was sent to a halt when the sounds of ships were coming there way.
"The bandicoot siblings have been spotted, get them!" One minion screamed. The sounds of cannons began roaring towards them.
"The cannons, I won't be able to get past!" Coco growled.
"Let me distract them." Fake Crash declared.
"Huh…"
"I can distract them while you get yourself to safety." Fake Crash declared.
"What about you?" Coco asked, worried.
"Don't worry about little old me. I'll be able to give them the slip."
"Are you sure."
"Y'all trust me, doncha?" Fake Crash smirked, he had the same spirit as her brother.
Coco smiled. "Okay, I trust you."
Fake Crash jumped into the water, screaming towards the ships.
"Hey y'all, come and get me!" He grinned.
"IT'S CRASH BANDICOOT, GET HIM."
The cannons aimed towards Fake Crash, giving Coco enough time to swim to safety eventually leading her to treasure chest that protected a crystal and a gem.
Once she collected her prizes, the vortex appeared sending her back to the hub.
Pura had just woken up from her nap and bounced toward her owner, purring happily.
"Were you a good girl?" Coco asked the baby cub.
Pura mewed softly, nudging her head wanting attention.
"Well I got something for you." Coco showed Pura some fresh fish. The little tiger sat perfectly still, waiting for her tasty treat.
"All right, here you go." Coco said, handing the cub her treat.
Suddenly, Crash appeared from the vortex, holding a crystal and gem in his hands, looking very uneasy.
"What's with you?" Coco asked.
"I just feel so much anger building up inside of me. It feels that I'll explode if something sets me off."
Coco eyed her brother nervously.
"Crash, just stay focused on what we have to do. It's the only thing we can do."
"Yeah well let's head over to the next hub." He answered, quietly.
However, a force field blocked their not allowing them to leave. That's when they noticed all the coordinates were replaced with a new one.
Crash activated the coordinate to see that it would lead to ancient Rome.
"The only way we can move on is going here." Crash sighed.
"So what do you want me to do?" Coco asked.
"You stay here; I'll go see what this is all about."
Crash jumped into the Vortex to find himself swirling in and endless sea of blue. Suddenly Tiny's form appeared before him catching Crash off guard.
"Tiny! How've you been?" Crash asked, grinning sheepishly.
"Crash, Coco stole pretty crystals! Tiny take them back in gladiator arena!"
