Hello everybody. Here I am with the next chapter. I really liked this chapter. I wanted Crash to be a little silly. Especially since in the last chapter Crash was like a ticking time bomb.

For this Chapter, if you haven't noticed the name below, I strongly recommend listening to Born To Be Wild by Stephenwolf. (Although the Raving Rabbids version is a cute renditon as well.)

Other than that, sit back and enjoy

Crash is not mine. All OC's are mine

Chapter 5 Born To Be Wild

Crash returned to the hub to see Coco and Pura were waiting for him.

"What happened Crash?" Coco asked.

"It wasn't pretty, let's just leave it at that." Crash sighed.

The three walked towards the second hub; looking around to see all the new coordinates.

"Crash, there's a crystal located somewhere along Route 66 between the 50 and 60's." Coco explained

"I'll go check out that one. Why don't you take the kitten and investigate another part of medieval Europe." Crash smiled.

"That sounds like fun, come on girl." Coco cooed to the baby tiger.

Pura bounced behind the little girl before disappearing in the warp.

Crash sighed as he pulled a black leather jacket from out of nowhere.

"Milo was right; this will come in handy." Crash smirked as he disappeared.

Crash regained his vision to find himself down a desert highway.

"This must be the grand canyon in the background, it looks amazing." Crash smiled, taking in beauty of nature along the open road.

"Crash…" Came a familiar but unstable voice behind him"

Crash turned behind to see Valerie dressed in a cashmere sweater and rolled up jeans. Her nervous but unstable eyes seemed to be scanning everything but the bandicoot.

"Yes…" Crash asked, staying on guard.

"I'm sorry about the arena… I didn't realize Midori was going to do that." Valerie's voice was so small, almost no sound seemed to come out.

"Then why didn't…"

"Well… I… You see; I have to keep face… After I went through the Cortex Vortex, I…"

"What are you trying to tell me…" Crash asked, gently.

"I wasn't in my right mind and my memories were warped. However, it started clearing, and I'm starting to remember. Just not the stuff from my blackouts. For the record, I haven't killed anyone. I may have caused some injuries, but I never murdered anybody." The minion's eyes seemed watery.

"Then why…"

"Where am I going to go Crash? I'm a hazard! If I leave, I'll do something I'll regret… I owe Cortex for that. If I stay, I'll be able to keep myself under control. I'm sorry we can't be friends anymore; but I promise I won't be the one to hurt you or Coco. Nicholi also wanted me to tell you that he won't be the one to hurt you either. But, we can't change sides. I won't blame you if you hate me."

"I don't hate you Valerie; it's that monster I hate." Crash said, quietly.

"Everyone! Valerie found him." A minions voice cried out.

Crash turned to see about 15 minions come into view.

Chris was leading them off.

All the minions were dressed like bikers.

"Well bandicoot, you saved us the trouble of looking for you." Chris smirked.

"That was so nice of you to come and find me. You must be getting sharp." Crash grinned

"Whatever, it seems one the crystals and a gem is here and only one of us can have them." Chris grinned.

However, Crash's grin was wider.

"You sound so confident and I know you want to beat the stuffing out of me for it, but I have a better idea."

"What could you possibly have in mind?" Chris asked.

"How about we have a race. Winner gets the crystal and gem. Or are you chicken Chrissy boy?"

"You…you…." Chris flustered angrily. Another minion stepped in, grinning.

"All right, we'll except your challenge. After all, you don't have a veichle."

"Don't worry, I'll get one." Crash spat back.

"Better start looking; race starts in 10 minutes. The minions left leaving Crash behind.

"Hmm, I am too young to drive a car. So where am I going to find a bike?" Crash noticed a biker along the side of the road a man, leaning on a motorcycle.

"Perfect! I don't think it's against the law to ride a motorcycle at 12."

The boy approached the biker.

"Excuse me sir, but can I borrow your bike? I'll give it back it back when I'm done." Crash asked, grinning sweetly.

The man was completely taken aback.

"Well…uh…I…umm…sure…okay… Just be careful with it!" The man answered, shocked.

Crash hopped on, reving it up.

"Ahh… Now we're talking; now to show those assistants."

Crash rode towards the starting line to see six other minions in their smoking hot rods.

"Hah… Let's see if you beat us with your little bicycle." A buff looking minion, scoffed.

Crash simply smiled as he pulled a pair of shades over his eyes.

"Ah... Don't worry, I'll make it interesting."

A female minion, with a checkered flag, stood in front.

"All right racers; whoever reaches the finish line first, is the winner."

"Ready to lose bandicoot?" Chris mocked from his car.

"You'll be the one who loses." Crash said

"Racers…. Ready… ON YOUR MARK…!"

Crash revved the engine, a confident grin on his face.

"GET SET…!"

Crash kept his eye on the prize.

The minion waved her flag.

"GO!"

And they were off. Crash sped on his way, keeping his focus on winning the race and all of the bragging rights.

At first, Crash was in last, but as he got his bike got going, he felt a new feeling inside him. The wind was rushing wildly threw his red hair. The speed was like nothing he felt before. The adrenaline gave him shivers of delight. These new feelings replaced all his aggression with a strong confidence a feeling saying: "Hey world look out, because here I come!"

Crash could feel his goofy grin on his face. "I WAS BORN TO BE WILD! I'M GONNA WIN BABY!"

Crash in a burst of speed, sped ahead of the first racer.

"W-w-what…the…hey that's not fair!"

Crash did not retort; he kept his pace, victory would be his no matter what.

The road was filled with gaps, but Crash confidently passed them with ease, not even slowing him down once. After a couple more miles Crash passed the second racer.

"Are you serious?! A motorcycle?! Passing me?! The hell?!" The second minion demanded.

Crash chuckled to himself before focusing on passing the third car.

The landscape of the desert and the fierce wind that blew around him, made him feel more and more at peace. Crash couldn't remember the last time he felt like this.

He felt himself approaching the third card when he saw a speed bump. The bandicoot smiling widely, as he decided to use the speed bump to increase his speed. With great ease, he paced the third racer.

"GRRRRH!"Growled the minion.

Crash suddenly found himself humming a tune. He couldn't recall the name, but he had heard it many times on the radio, and he did remember it was an old rock song from the 60's.

Before he knew it, Chris was coming into his view. Crash waited calmly before without warning, sped ahead of him, putting him in third place.

"WOW! I FEEL GREAT!" Crash whipped his hair in the strong cool wind.

At last, he saw the final two racers and the finish line was just past the jump from the cliff.

Crash stayed cool and revved on the gas as he passed the speed bump flying through the air passing the last racers and landing to finish first at the finish line.

"And the bandicoot wins." Crash grinned.

The rest of the minions approached, looking shocked and or angered.

"How?! How did we lost to a motorcycle?!" One of the minions screamed.

Crash collected his prizes. "Don't be such a sore loser, I won and you guys lost. Now you can go back to hunting crystals else where; if I don't find them first."

The minions growled before they teleported away.

Suddenly a group of people who were watching started cheering.

"Wow that was amazing; you beat those guys with no problem!"

Crash gave the bike back to the biker.

"Yeah well, I am full surprises after all." Crash said, blushing.

"Just one question... What are you…?"

Crash simply smiled."Just your friendly neighborhood Crash Bandicoot." (Okay I parodied one of Spiderman's catch phrases! It seemed cute at the time.)

He teleported away leaving the people behind.

"Wow! Whoever, or whatever he was, he was awesome!" The biker thought to himself.

Crash jumped back into the hub. Coco was sitting on the ground with Pura resting her head on the little girl's lap.

"So how'd it go?" She asked.

"I won the race and got the prizes. You?"

"I got the crystals and gems from medieval Europe and ancient Egypt. We just have the last 2 coordinates from this hub and then we can move on."

"Sweet! Where to next?"

"Well one coordinate is from the time the Arabian nights were written. The other one is from imperial China."

"Well you take China, I'll take the other one."

Crash jumped through the portal.

Coco sighed before she Pura jumped after.

Meanwhile along a dark moonlit path, Uka Uka was addressing 2 young women.

"Remember, neither of you must fail. Both of you will kill your target, do we have an understanding?"

"Yes…" The women answered, coldly.

"Good… NOW GO!"

The first woman disappeared through a portal while second one hid along the shadows of the path.
