Chapter four: The Concert
Thurdsday, 11:30am, 1D classroom…
"And so that ends our lesson on the theories on the origin of life, any questions?" Their teacher asked as the class mumbled a low 'no'
All the students in the classroom were slouching as they closed their notebook and took out a pen for their seatwork. It was still 30 minutes before lunch and having two periods for Biology was killing them. It was already Thursday of their first week in school and a lot of students were already starting to fail in most of their subjects. Amu on the other hand was surprised at her performance, this time she took her studies seriously and she was able to get high scores in Biology and Algebra in their first two quizzes, something that was practically impossible for Amu.
But then after lunch was physical education she was still debating on her mind whether to skip classes or not. If she would skip classes she could spare herself from utter humiliation but she would also have to do laps with Kukai once he found out. But, if she didn't skip class then she would turn out to be the laughing stock of the whole school.
"H-Hinamori-san"
Amu looked beside her to see a girl with dark brown hair tied to a bun and tanned skin. Her eyes were on her desk as she spoke, "Um, do you want to eat together…at l-lunch?"
"Sorry I have other plans" Amu said as she reached for the paper in front of her and passed the rest to the person behind her
"Since its just 15 minutes before the bell I'll just let you do the seatwork as homework for today" Their teacher said as a knock was heard on the door, "Come in Hotori-san"
Tadase came in this time he was wearing the SC black coat over his white shirt. Amu heard some of the girls scream in delight as the boy walked to the center of the classroom, "I just have an announcement regarding the concert for Saturday, auditions will be held later after school 2:00pm sharp. Oh and Hinamori-san"
The rest of the class turned to Hinamori and she looked at Tadase with a bored expression on her face, "Nani?"
"Kukai-san requested that you join us for lunch in the SC Chamber"
Hinamori nodded once afraid that her voice might falter once she spoke. Tadase bowed to their teacher in respect and left the classroom. The whole class started to whisper as to what the SC wanted with Hinamori. Others began to spread rumors but Hinamori didn't care, she was too busy sighing in relief that she was able to keep her cool when Tadase called her. At some point the 'not being able to express herself properly' attitude had their advantages.
After a while the bell rang for lunch and the rest of the students started to gather their things and exit the classroom. Amu was the last one to exit as she walked to class 1B where Rima was. This time they were divided into five sections according to their results and performance when they were in Seiyo Elementary. Rima got into class B where almost all of the intelligent people were. Amu got into class D while Tadase was able to get into class A.
Rima then came out of the classroom holding their big history book and her notebook, "What do you think happened?"
"What are you talking about?" Amu asked casually
Rima sighed and Amu looked at her in confusion, "They're asking us to join them for lunch, they must have found out something that is of great importance"
Amu nodded absent mindedly as she flipped the pages of her notebook, looking for a piece of paper that she wanted to give to Rima. She then bumped into someone and all of her papers started flying. She looked ahead and saw a girl with long fiery red hair her eyes were also red and she was wearing a red coat on top of her white shirt and the black dress was just a little above her knees. She looked at Amu, but Amu saw it more as a glare. Everything started to turn black and white as the students passing by them started to slow down. She looked beside her and saw Rima talking but she couldn't understand her.
Amu then looked in front of her to see the girl grinning, almost a mocking smile as she spoke, "Finally we meet, Hinamori Amu"
And in a blink of an eye Amu was looking at nothing but air, her things were scattered on the ground and her face was pale, that girl, somehow the way she poke made every single bone in her body shiver, "Amu-chan, Amu-chan" Rima called but Amu couldn't speak
"Amu!" Rima shouted as Amu came back to her senses and looked at Rima
"Nani?"
"You need to pay more attention" Rima said as she pointed at the floor where all of Amu's papers and books were
"My book!" Amu cried as she knelt and gathered her things
Rima merely sweat dropped.

SC Chamber…
"Kukai-sa…-senpai" Rima corrected herself as she placed her chopsticks over her bowl, "What did you call us for?"
Kukai then mirrored Rima's actions as he laced his fingers together, "It's about the concert tomorrow"
"What about it?" Sayuri asked as she sipped her cup of tea, she didn't buy any food nor brought any. She said earlier that she only drank tea or the blood tablets.
"It's a huge gathering, at night, a perfect place for a group of blood thirsty vampires" Kyo replied
Rima and Tadase nodded, "So we'll be taking shifts" Kukai said
"Amu, will you be okay with taking the first shift?"
Amu nodded and Kukai went on with the rest until the meeting was over.

Outside in the soccer field, 1:00pm, 1D and 2A's Physical Education class…
"I guess it was an impossible thought after all…" Amu murmured to herself in desperation as she looked beside her to see Kukai in a white shirt and black sweat shorts.
Kukai looked at her and smiled, he then patted her head, "Don't worry Amu, it's not as hard as it looks"
It just happens that for the first month the 1st years and 2nd years will be taking the same PE class and it just happens that high 1D was paired up with high 2A which is Kukai's class.
Amu had it all planned, she would go to the teacher tell her/him that she had a stomach ache or headache then get sent to the infirmary that way she wouldn't have to humiliate herself and if ever she wouldn't have to face Kukai and his endless laps.
But once Kukai saw Amu about to approach the teacher he tackled her thus there she was now, stuck in physical education, having to learn soccer.
"I'm going to die" Amu said as she went into her 'sulk mode'
"Now class we're going to learn the basics of soccer first is learning to kick the ball slightly just to be able to move it from its original position and towards the goal of the opponent where you will have to kick the ball inside the net." Their teacher said as he scanned the class, his eyes then brightened once he saw Kukai, "Soma-kun, please demonstrate how to bring the ball across the field"
Some cheers were heard from the guys as Kukai stood up and nodded, He then made his position on the field in front of the ball as he started to kick the ball lightly and move in pace with it. Once he was near the net he kicked the ball and the class applauded.
"He's the soccer team captain and the SC president, it seems as though he can do anything" The girls behind Amu said as they shrieked in delight when Kukai sat back down in front of them.
"See Amu, not so hard" Kukai said and Amu couldn't help but sigh. This was not going to be fun.
The teacher then divided the students and asked them to team up with a partner to practice passing the ball. Kukai was kind enough to volunteer as Amu's partner to help her practice, all Amu was hopping for was a B in PE as long as she'd pass she would be more then happy.
Kukai passed the ball to Amu and she caught it with her foot she then passed it to Kukai but since she didn't kick hard enough it wasn't able to reach Kukai. Amu sighed, for some reason she couldn't do or play any sport but she was more then good when it came to hunting, she never had a hard time with it. She could run she could swim she could jump from high places but when it came to sports she just wasn't able to do as much.
"What is she doing?" A girl whispered as she laughed and her three other friends joined in
"She's all talk but no show"
"They say she's tough but when it comes to it she's nothing but-"
Amu kicked the ball as hard as she could towards the net where the girls were standing, which resulted to the net tearing and the ball freely flying to the sky. She girls were shaking as they turned to see who kicked the ball, they then saw Hinamori her eyes were dead on the girl's faces as they slowly exited the field fearing for the safety of their own lives. Some of the students who saw the scene couldn't help but clap and cheer. Amu then looked at Kukai and suddenly she came back to her senses, "W-what did I just do!? Amu said as she started to freak, "I was this close to actually killing them!"
Kukai was still dumbfounded but then he came back to his senses as well, "Chill, Amu, That was great! So all the laps were working huh?"
"How could you say that, I-"
Kukai started laughing which interrupted Amu's ranting, "So that's what fuels you're energy, anger huh?"
Amu blushed a deep red as she murmured, "I can't believe I lost my temper like that"
"We're going to have to deal with that later but this is amazing, think of the possibilities" Kukai said as he went to his own "fantasy world" as how Amu would describe it
"I don't think that's possible" Amu said knowing the 'possibilities' Kukai meant. It was simple, it involved Amu and more physical things something Amu didn't have time or the patience to do.

School Auditorium, Saturday, 8:30pm
"Utau!" Sanjo stormed in the dressing room as Utau sighed at the sight of her arrival, "This is going to be your biggest night yet!"
Utau nodded as she continued, "You know what to do?"
Utau nodded again and murmured a 'yes'
"Good, now do you're best and I'll be watching from back stage" Sanjo said as she made a thumbs up and gushed out of the room
Minutes later Ikuto arrived and this time a big smile appeared on Utau's face, "What are you doing here?"
"Sanjo-san told me to come" Ikuto said as he shrugged his blue eyes on the mirror which reflected Utau's reflection. Her hair was on the usual double pony but this time she had a little make-up and she wore a black dress which fell an inch above her knees. The dress itself had long sleeves which had a dark blue lining on the edges. And as she stood Ikuto saw that she was wearing knee high boots which were also black with some blue linings.
"I'm going then" Utau said as she smiled and Ikuto nodded and had the usual bored expression on his face.
The announcer on the stage was no other then Sayuri, one of the SC members. She walked to the stage as the band finished their final rock song from Orange Range. Sayuri grinned at the loud applause of the crowd as the band left the stage, "Now for our final performance…!"
The crowd made an 'aww' as Sayuri smiled, "It's been a fun night and to end it is none other then Hoshina Utau!"
Utau made her entrance as the curtains moved to reveal the band behind her. There were a total of four guys, one was playing the base the other one was playing the drums and the other was playing the guitar, lastly Ikuto was standing holding the violin his eyes on Utau as the drummer gave the three beats by striking the sticks together. First Ikuto played the violin which made the girls from the crowd gasp in excitement. It was a low yet sad tone as the guitar entered and soon the drums and the base.

Outside the auditorium, 9:04pm
Rima looked down from the roof to see Tadase and Kyo circling the auditorium she wasn't exactly up for more exercise and so Kukai suggested the idea. And also she needed a wider view; just an 'if ever' something might trigger her premonition skills and tell them before hand if something was wrong. Rima wasn't able to see anything this past couple of days and it was strange. Usually she would have visions at least twice or thrice a day. This time it's been more then 2 days since her last premonition. So it was more then expected that something was bound to happen tonight that eluded her visions.
"Rima, see anything?" Tadase called from bellow and Rima shook her head. And then the vision came…

Inside the school Auditorium…
Utau waited for the base to come in before singing the first stanza…(song from bleach movie 2: memories of nobody, translated to English)

Then Ikuto's part came in as he played the violin solo with the light sounds of the guitar which made everyone cheer and applaud, Utau then continued as Ikuto and the rest of the band played together,

Utau's eyes started to change from blue to red as she prepared to sing the refrain,

The room was silent only Utau's singing could be heard and the band's music. Back stage Sanjo was grinning as slowly the eyes of the audience started to loose its color until all of them seemed to be starring at nothing but air. At the far end of the auditorium stood Amu her eyes were blank and her face was pale. She stood there frozen as the band kept on playing.
Putting these feelings into words is so scary, but
I'll say I love you to the one I love
The happiness we change upon in our lives can't be expressed in words
That's why we can only smile
Why we sing "do re mi" in the vivid aluminum colors
With winter at our backs, and spring sunbeams peeking through the leaves
As to protect someone who's just been reborn
Back stage…
"Eva-chan, now" Sanjo said as the girl with a pale face and red hair nodded. Eva closed her eyes as she focused on nothing but the girl that was now standing there, her eyes blank. She only focused on Hinamori Amu, her next prey.
(Author's note: okay this is inside Amu's mind :D)
Amu looked at her surroundings, there was nothing, it was only pitch black. After a few minutes colors started to come and a picture was drawn. She was standing in a room filled with mirrors, in every mirror she saw herself. Her long pink hair which now reached to her waist her developed chest and her elegant yet slick body which was now facing her.
Then slowly a door opened and there came out a girl, she was about two years older then Amu and she was quivering in fear as another girl appeared from behind her pushing her in the room. The other girl behind her had long red hair which also fell to her waist her eyes were a deep red. Amu noticed her as a vampire. The vampire pushed the girl to the center of the room as she cut the ropes which bound her hands behind her back. She girl then looked up at Amu in horror as the vampire behind her faded. Leaving a few words, "Here's you're dinner Amu-chan"
Amu's heart raced as the words rang in her ears, immediately she grabbed the girl from the waist and yanked her to the wall, a crack was heard and the girl screamed a high pitched yelp as Amu walked step by step getting closer and closer her eyes changing from gold to red. She licked her lips as she stared at the blood which started to flow freely from the girl's head to her chin until it dripped, drop by drop to the ground. The girl tried to shield herself from Amu placing her hands before her in defense. Amu smiled at the girl enjoying every moment, she then swiftly got the girl's hand and bit it. Her bare teeth digging into the flesh as the girl screamed once more, this time it was faint. It was like a tortured cry something you'd hear after the person gave up the life that was given to him.
The girl then started to cry, tears falling from her eyes as she gasped in several intervals. As Amu heard the noise she looked at the girl blood stains where on her cheeks as she saw the girl's horrified face. The face that she never ever wanted to see again she let go of the girl's hand and screamed as tears started falling from her eyes. At the opposite wall where a mirror was stated she saw her reflection, her hair was messy her face was marked with blood stains and her eyes were a shade of red.
Humans and vampires were never meant to be together
She was a monster, nothing would change that fact
She was part of a species that was never meant to exist.
A danger to everyone she loved.
The girl standing beside Sanjo smiled and Sanjo nodded in approval, it only meant one thing. Their plan was working. It took a few days to actually plan the whole set up, but it didn't take Sanjo-san too long before realizing how she could put Utau and Eva's abilities together. Utau had the ability of singing and since she was a pure blood her ability was only made stronger. Utau would sing and whoever could hear it would be her slave, whenever she would call for them, they would come and obey her even if it was against their will. Of course they wouldn't have any recollection of what happened the next day.
And Eva's ability was to penetrate someone's mind and enabling them to see anything she wanted them to see. But she could only do it once the person's will power was at its weakest and also it was limited to five people at most, vampires included.
Sanjo-san then had the thought, if she could let anyone hear Utau's singing then that person would have no will at all, they weren't in the right mind so then Eva could penetrate the mind easily. That way Eva's influence was made stronger.
On stage…
Utau was nearly finished with the song; her eyes were closed as she sang the last two stanzas
As I look at the road I traveled in the path, my eyes were filled with cowardice
I wanted to look in you're eyes, but was afraid that I wouldn't be honest
I didn't want to know that you didn't love me
And live the rest of my days all alone
That day I kept on loving you without getting hurt
Even if my feelings can't be returned, I can say "I love you" to the one I love…
And that's the most beautiful thing in the world
Ikuto then stepped in with his violin solo the soothing sound rang through the whole Auditorium. He then ended with his last tune as the whole Auditorium fell in silence. Utau looked at the humans in disgust, their hearts were easily won by her song, none of them had the strength to withstand it. It was pitiful.
The rest of the band started to fix their things as Eva and Sanjo came to the stage. Sanjo hugged Utau as she spoke, "Well done Utau-chan, everything went as planned" Sanjo said as she winked and looked at the far end of the Auditorium where Hinamori stood her eyes still blank.
"She's the one?" Utau asked as Sanjo nodded
"Should we take her?" Eva asked
"No, not yet, she'll come to us" Sanjo-san said as she grinned, she then turned to Ikuto, "Remember what we talked about" (the letter that Sanjo-san gave him)
Ikuto nodded as he walked away from the group bringing his violin with him.

Outside the Auditorium…
(Author's note: I didn't write the premonition anymore since its kind of obvious what Rima saw :D)
Rima blinked she noticed that she was gripping the tiles of the roof so hard that her hands started to bleed. She also saw Tadase, Kukai and Kyo looking at her mysteriously. Once they noticed that she was back from her premonition they asked her the usual question that they asked, "What did you see?"
"Amu…-chan!" Rima shouted that she quickly jumped from the roof and landed on all fours as she ran for the auditorium door. She didn't notice that tears started to stream from her eyes out of panic. As she opened the door she saw everyone lying on the ground their eyes were still open but they lost their color. Rima scanned the ground frantically as she saw Amu on the ground as well.
"Rima!" Kukai called as he held Rima's shoulders before she could run any further. He then turned her so that she would be facing him and he asked slowly, "What did you see?"
"It's as though someone was holding my premonitions from me, j-just a while ago I saw everything!" Rima said this time she was shouting it was something she had never done before; she had never experienced this in her entire life.
Kukai then let go of her arms as he looked at Tadase. Amu's head was lying on Tadase's lap as he checked her. Tadase was calmer as he spoke, "She's fine, no physical damage what so ever"
Kyo then followed in as he rushed back stage after a few minutes he came back carrying Sayuri in his arms. Her eyes were also glassy and they also lost their color, "No one was left back stage, whoever did this is probably long gone"
Kukai's hands clenched into fists as he looked at the ground, "How could we let this pass us!?"
"There's no point in regretting our actions now" Kyo replied as he stopped in his tracks, this time he was already facing Kukai, "All we can do right now is to do the best we can in our situation"
"It seems that she's in some kind of trance, but it will wear off soon" Tadase replied reassuring Kukai
Kukai nodded solemnly his eyes still on the ground.

Chiyuri: good that's what I thought (smiles)
Ikuto: (mumbles) why does Tadase get to check on Amu and I can't? hmph!
Chiyuri:Because its part of the story! i need to make this goood
Ikuto:You keep on doing that and people will start flamming you (sticks out tongue)
Chiyuri: (brings out bow and arrow) i dare you say that again :P
