Chapter 2

Bella's POV

It's been 18 years that I have been at this orphanage. 18 years of not knowing who my parents were and why they left me here, surrounded by cruel spiteful children. Even though they don't come near me, they still call me names even to this very day.

Freak!

You don't deserve to breathe the same air as us!

Why don't you jump off a cliff!

I winced as the last name calling echoed in my head. I sighed.

Mrs Stanley, a foul-mouthed woman with mousy brown hair that stopped at the middle of her back with hard grey eyes that sent chills down your spine, gave me a letter yesterday telling me it's from my parents; the same letter now sits on my desk in the corner of my bedroom. Conflicting feelings ran through me. I wanted to know why they left me here and why. Was it because they hate me like everyone else that sees me? Or do they care about me? But at the same time I didn't want to know. I spent hours yesterday debating whether to open it. My eyes flickered to the envelope on the desk. Taking a deep breathe, I walked to my desk and opened the letter.

Dear our precious Isabella,

We would like to say how very sorry we are that we are not with you, but all that you need to know about us that we are now in a better place. For we gave our lives to save yours.

I know you must be wondering why we gave you away. It is because bad people wanted to hurt you so we had to do the option which had pained us to do but we know it was the right choice. Don't doubt that we don't love you because we do love you with our whole heart.
