Nightmare's Requiem
CHAPTER 1
It all started when Cresselia and I first hatched. We were young, naïve, and oblivious to our destinies. That was, until a young girl named Yuko told us what we were destined to be. I was destined to be the bearer of nightmares, while cresselia was destined to be the bearer of dreams. I was devastated to find out that we were destined to be opposites. I worried that we would never see each other again when we came of age. I decided to talk to Arceus about what was troubling me. "Arceus, am I interrupting anything?" I asked nervously. "No, you aren't. Why, is something troubling you, Darkrai?" He replied gently. "Yes, something has been troubling me for a while now." I said sadly. "Would you mind telling me what it is?" he asked. "It's just that I'm worried that my destiny will interfere with the friendship between me and my sister Cresselia." I said beginning to cry. Arceus tried to calm me down but to no avail. "Darkrai there is no need to be so sad." He said. "I know, but I can't help but worry about our destinies." I said still crying. "I'm sorry but there is nothing I can do. You need to accept your destiny." Arceus said gently. "I understand." I replied.
That night I couldn't sleep. My mind was racing. What had Arceus meant when he had said I needed to accept my destiny? I tossed and turned all night. I knew that I was going to have many sleepless nights in the years ahead.
