Here's the disclaimer bit: Don't own merlin, the bbc does so there:p
He had taken to avoiding her, he didn't want to see the sadness on her face any more, didn't want to look at her and know that she was pinning over Lancelot. But he wanted to know what had gone on between them when she had been captured, what had gone on to make her miss him so, to make her cry that way when he had left.
He had told himself that it was pointless having these feelings for her, that having these feelings for her would never amount to anything. As he had told Merlin his father would not even consider that Guinevere, because she was a servant was worth saving. How would he react to the fact that his son might be falling in love with one.
She was so much more than just a servant to him, she was the one person he wanted to share things with, to tell her of his day and get her opinion about it. He wanted to be the one to share a laugh or a joke with her, to be the one to kiss and hold her whether she was happy or sad, to simply be that someone to her.
He wanted to be so much more that just Prince Arthur to her, he wanted to be the one person that she would do all those things with too, that she would come to him and tell him about well anything really, to kiss and hold him whether he was happy or sad, to simply be that someone to him.
He had taken to avoiding her, he didn't want her to see his sadness, he didn't want her to look at him and know that he was pinning after her. He wanted her to know that he didn't care about want had gone on when she had been captured or what had happened between her and Lancelot to make her cry that way when he had left. All he cared about was the fact that she was safe and back in Camelot where she belonged.
He told himself that it was pointless trying to deny his feelings for her, that having these feelings for her amounted to everything to him. As he had told Merlin he thought about her all the time, he cared about her more than anyone, he didn't know what he would have done if any harm had befallen her, that it hurt just thinking that he could never be with her.
His father would not even consider that Guinevere because she was a servant was worth everything. How would he react to that fact that his son had fallen in love with one.
