This was a SUPER long update, and I apologize sincerely. But I do have another one, so yay! Right? You don't hate me? Okay, good.
Anyway, I have something I would like to propose to everyone. I am part of an RP for The Hunger Games (a sort of SYOT). We need more people, and are accepting tribute forms! You can just PM me for the link to the forum to fill it out, or you can find it in my profile :) It would be appreciated!
All right, for the chapter. This one is during the first days of Katniss being in District 13. I remember in the book how she talked about how she hallucinated of snakes covering the floor and whatnot, and I figured I could elaborate a bit.
Enjoy!
She didn't know what to do. For all she knew, he was dead; she didn't even want to go down that path.
Ever since she came to District 13, she's been unstable, kept hospitalized and under watch so she didn't harm herself or others. Her mother had only come to see her a handful of times, but she really didn't care. There was no reason; she wouldn't know what to say.
Gale came more often, and she couldn't even find it in herself to feel sorry for the sorrow in his eyes. She thought that he might know that her mind moves to Peeta often. He wanted her to think of him – the person that has been there since she was twelve. But Peeta was there at eleven, no matter if they spoke a word or not. Perhaps she always knew that, but refused to believe. She didn't deserve to be loved, not the way he loved her.
Haymitch would come every now and again, and would take the seat next to her. He wouldn't look at her, not once. It was good enough for her. She wouldn't have been mad if he never came at all.
Prim was the one that came by the most, besides her doctors. She told her stories and brushed her hair, as if she was a normal and functioning person. It was nice, having someone treat her as if she were still normal. Not 'mentally unstable', no matter how true it was.
Finnick came by once, but he was almost as messed up as was. She felt bad that she felt a little better, but she figured it might be the same for him. Honestly, he was the most helpful, considering they were practically in the same position. She hated thinking that, because it almost made her think she cared for Peeta a little too much, but she couldn't lie and say that it didn't help.
She hallucinated, her dreams were worse than ever, she even tried to commit suicide one time – due to a very bad and very real hallucination – but she still hoped that maybe things would turn up.
Hopefully one of those things would be Peeta, because he was the one that taught her to hope.
Hope you liked it :)
As always, Read and Review!
