Dean moaned and Sam reached for his hand. "Shhhh, go back to sleep; I'm here."

Contrarily, fuzzy green eyes cracked open.

"Hospital. You'll be fine. Black dog, remember?"

Dean nodded slowly. "Y'alright, S'mmy?"

"You got bitten, not me. Doctors say you'll be better, soon. No complications from the injury- they performed an Ex-Lap – exploratory laparotomy – checked for internal bleeding and stomach damage. The beast's fangs didn't cut that deep, thank God."

Dean blinked. "Ex-Lax feels like a sonofabitch."

"Normal post-op pain. The nurse'll come by with your meds soon." Sam squeezed Dean's hand. "Rest now, Dean; I've got the watch."
