Hey guys. Here is the fifth chapter of All Grown Up. This chapter is a little longer than the others. I hope you enjoy it. Please read and review. I don't own the song "My Heart is Broken". Evanescence does. I also do not own the song "Starting Today". Bruno Mars does. Please read, review, follow, favorite, and whatever the hell it is people like you do when you like something. I'll try to update by next Wednesday. Maybe earlier. Ta ta for now.
Ariella was at her locker grabbing her Spanish book when her best friend Tatiana came up to her. "Okay chica. Spill." the Latina demanded. "What are you talking about?" Ariella asked her as she shut her locker. "I'm talking about you and tall, dark, and sexy. What's going on with you two?" she asked her Jewish friend. "Nothing. We're just going to prom together. That's it." Ariella explained. Tatiana rolled her eyes at her friend as they walked to class.
Ariella was walking to her second period class when she saw her boyfriend with his tongue down Kaylee Lewis' throat. Tears pooled in her eyes as she turned and ran the other way.
Ariella ran outside and took a few deep breaths as tears ran down her cheeks. She sat down and leaned against the wall. She pulled her knees to her chest, buried her head in her lap, and sobbed. A few minutes later she felt someone tap her shoulder. She looked up and saw her Uncle Sam sitting down next to her. "What's wrong?" he asked pulling her shaking frame into his chest. "My boyfriend cheated on me with the head cheerio." Ariella sobbed. "I'm so sorry. Do you want me to take you home?" he asked rubbing her back. Ariella looked up at him and nodded. "Okay." he said as she wiggled out of his arms and let him get up. He grabbed her bag and swung it over his shoulder before offering her his hand. She grabbed his hand and he pulled her up. She dusted off her jeans and then followed her uncle to his car.
About ten minutes later he pulled up in front of her house. "Thanks for the ride uncle Sam." Ariella said getting her bag. "No problem kiddo. And don't worry about your teachers. I'll tell them you got sick and I took you home." Sam said as she got out of the car. "Thanks. I really appreciate it." Ariella said and then walked up her driveway and into her house.
She tossed her bag in the front hall closet and then went downstairs and into the basement. She walked over to the piano in the corner and sat down on the bench. She played a few notes and then cleared her throat before singing.
I will wander 'til the end of time, torn away from you
I pulled away to face the pain
I close my eyes and drift away
Over the fear that I will never find
A way to heal my soul
And I will wander 'til the end of time
Torn away from you
My heart is broken
Sweet sleep, my dark angel
Deliver us from sorrow's hold
(Over my heart)
I can't go on living this way
But I can't go back the way I came
Chained to this fear that I will never find
A way to heal my soul
And I will wander 'til the end of time
Half alive without you
My heart is broken
Sweet sleep, my dark angel
Deliver us
Change- open your eyes to the light
I denied it all so long, oh so long
Say goodbye, goodbye
My heart is broken
Release me, I can't hold on
Deliver us
My heart is broken
Sweet sleep, my dark angel
Deliver us
My heart is broken
Sweet sleep, my dark angel
Deliver us from sorrow's hold
Ariella finished singing and then burst into tears for the second time that day.
Noah Puckerman had just gotten home when he heard his daughter singing. He went downstairs and into the basement to see what was going on. He walked into the basement just as the song ended. His heart broke when he saw his normally strong daughter break down into a fit of sobs.
Noah set his guitar down gently and then walked over to his daughter. "Hey baby girl. What's wrong?" Noah asked as he sat down next to her. He pulled her still shaking frame into his arms and began to rock her gently to try and calm her down. Ariella wrapped her arms around her dad's waist and buried her head in his chest. She took a few minutes to calm her breathing and then looked at her dad. "Aaron cheated on me." Ariella said wiping her eyes and nose. "I'm going to kill him." Noah growled. "Daddy don't. I'm fine. I just want to forget what happened." Ariella said resting her head on his shoulder. "How about we get some Chinese takeout for dinner and watch a movie?" Noah asked his daughter. "That sounds awesome. Will mom go for it though?" Ariella asked as they got up from the piano bench. "I've got mom covered. You just go and get cleaned up." Noah said pulling his daughter into a hug. "Thanks dad. I love you." she said and pecked his cheek. "I love you too baby girl." Noah said and pecked his daughter's forehead.
A few hours later Noah and Rachel were in the kitchen talking about dinner. "Noah we are not having Chinese takeout for dinner. Quinn and Finn are coming over for dinner tonight and I don't think they'd appreciate it if we gave them takeout." Rachel argued with her husband. "I already promised Ari that we'd get some Chinese takeout and watch a movie." Noah said running a hand over his Mohawk. "Why did you promise her Chinese takeout and a movie?" Rachel asked curiously. "Something happened at school today." Noah said sitting down at the kitchen table. Rachel opened her mouth to ask what happened when the doorbell rang. "This conversation isn't over."Rachel said and went to answer the door.
Rachel opened the door and greeted her two friends. "You guys made it. Come on in." Rachel said ushering Finn and Quinn inside. "Hey Rachie. I love your house." Quinn said hugging the petite brunette. "Thank you." Rachel said as the three of them walked into the kitchen.
When they walked into the kitchen they saw Noah hugging a sobbing Ariella. "What happened?" Rachel asked rushing over to her daughter, Quinn following closely behind. "Aaron cheated on her." Noah said running his hand through Ariella's dark tresses. "Oh honey." Rachel said as her heart broke at the sight of her sobbing daughter. "Mom, what's going on?" Ben asked as he walked into the kitchen. "Your sister's boyfriend cheated on her." Rachel explained to her son. "That jackass. No one hurts my sister." Ben said through clenched teeth. Rachel smiled at her son and then pulled him into a hug.
As the six of them stood in the kitchen they didn't hear the front door open and Sam, Brittany, and their seventeen year old son Dylan walk in.
Sam walked into the kitchen, Brittany and Dylan following him, and cleared his throat. They turned around and saw three blondes standing in the doorway. "Sam, Brittany, what are you guys doing here?" Rachel asked pecking Sam's cheek and hugging Brittany. "We were in the neighborhood and decided to drop by." Brittany said as she walked into the kitchen. "Dylan it's so good to see you sweetie." Rachel said hugging him. "It's good to see you too, Aunt Rachel." Dylan said smiling. "Rach, what's wrong with Ari?" Brittany asked. "Her boyfriend cheated on her." Rachel replied.
A few minutes later Ariella stopped crying and looked at everyone in the kitchen. "You okay baby girl?" Noah asked his daughter. "Yeah daddy, I'm fine." Ariella said as her dad pecked her forehead. Ariella looked at her aunts and uncles and smiled. "I'm fine guys. Really." Ariella laughed. "Why don't we head into the living room and leave these two to talk." Rachel said as she ushered the adults from the kitchen. Once all the adults left only Dylan and Ariella were left in the kitchen. "Hey Ari." Dylan said walking over to the brunette. "Hi Dylan. It's good to see you." Ariella said hugging the blonde. "You okay?" he asked as they sat down at the kitchen table. "Yeah, I'm fine." Ariella said. Dylan looked over at Ariella and chuckled. "What's so funny?" Ariella asked as she sat Indian style on the chair. "It's just that you look like you just had your heart broken. I mean you're wearing yoga pants, your dad's NYU sweatshirt, and your hair is in a messy bun. Not to mention your face is wiped clean of makeup and your eyes and nose are red." Dylan said taking in her appearance. Ariella smiled at him as she played with the hem of the sweatshirt.
A few hours later Ariella was sitting on the couch sipping a cup of tea when she heard singing outside. She set her tea on the coffee table and walked over to the window by the front door. She gasped when she saw Aaron standing in her front yard with a guitar across his chest. She opened the front door and leaned against the doorway watching him as he sang.
We had a date, I stood you up
You tried to call, but I didn't pick up
See I forgot about our plans, please forgive me for ruining your night so many times
I'm sorry, I know you're mad
And I don't wanna be like every other man that you had
So I'm stoppin' all the childish things,
Girl, you mean too much to me
Your love is worth too much to lose
Girl, I know I broke your heart,
Trustin' me is really hard
But watch how quick I change my ways
Starting today (today)
Starting today (today)
I know that I'm the one to blame
You say every man's the same
But watch how quick I change my ways
Starting today (today)
Starting today (today)
Girl, I'm starting today
I'm tired of playin'
the kiss and make-up game
And I apologize for the man I became
If I could do it all again
I woulda helped my best friend
And I would throw away all my selfish ways
I'm sorry, I know you're mad
And I don't wanna be like every other man that you had
So I'm stoppin' all the childish things,
Girl, you mean too much to me
Your love is worth too much to lose
Girl, I know I broke your heart,
Trustin' me is really hard
But watch how quick I change my ways
Starting today (today)
Starting today (today)
I know that I'm the one to blame
You say every man's the same
But watch how quick I change my ways
Starting today (today)
Starting today (today)
Girl, I'm starting today
I know that I'm the one to blame
You say every man's the same
But watch how quick I change my ways
Starting today (today)
Starting today (today)
Girl, I'm starting today
Ariella put a shaky hand over her mouth as tears ran down her cheeks. Aaron saw Ariella standing on her porch and walked over to her, his guitar slung across his back. "I'm sorry I hurt you." Aaron said as Ariella looked at him, tears still running down her face. Ariella was about to respond when someone pushed her out of the way. "So you're the ass that broke my sister's heart, huh?" Ben asked standing in front of Ariella. "Ben stay out of this." Ariella said grabbing her brother's arm. "Ari, this guy broke your heart. I'm not going to stand here and watch you take him back." Ben snapped. "Ben please. I'm begging you. Go back inside. I can handle this." Ariella said looking between Ben and Aaron. "Fine, but if you come back inside crying I'm going to kill him." Ben said and then walked back inside the house. "Sorry about my brother." Ariella apologized. "It's fine. I really am sorry that I hurt you. I never meant to. I was on my way to see you when Kaylee cornered me. She forced her tongue down my throat." Aaron explained. "Then why didn't you push her away?" Ariella asked. "I tried. She had a vice-like grip on me." Aaron said as Ariella wiped her nose with her sleeve. "I forgive you." Ariella mumbled. "What was that?" Aaron asked wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her closer to him. Ariella looked up at him and smiled. "I said I forgive you." Ariella said and hugged him. "Does this mean we're still going to prom together?" Aaron asked tangling his fingers in her hair. "Yes, we're still going to prom together." Ariella said and kissed his cheek. Aaron grinned and buried his nose in her hair.
