Hey guys. I'm back! Sorry for the long delay in updating. I've been really busy between work and school. I just never seem to have enough time in the day to update. I really hope you like this chapter. It's been on my computer for awhile. I just finished the chapter about an hour ago so the ending is a bit rushed. Don't worry. I'll have chapter seven up by saturday morning. I'm going to Florida for about ten days so I won't have my laptop with me. Anyway, thank you guys for being so patient. Hope you enjoy.
It was eight in the morning and Ariella was running around like the proverbial chicken with its head cut off. "Mom, our hair appointment is at nine thirty and Tati and Hayley still aren't here yet." Ariella said as her mom gingerly sipped her tea. "Sweetie, don't worry. I'm sure they'll be here soon. Speaking of being here, why was Aaron here last night?" Rachel asked her daughter. "He came over to tell me her was sorry. He sang to me and then we made up. I took him back." Ariella explained. "You took him back? Why on Earth would you do that?" her mom screeched. "I took him back because I believed him. I could tell that he never meant to hurt me. Besides, Kaylee Lewis is well known around McKinley. She's slept with half the baseball team and the entire male track team. She's a slut mom." Ariella said and then stormed out of the kitchen.
Ariella stomped up the stairs to her room to finish getting ready before her friends came over. She slipped on a white off the shoulder top with a purple heart on it, dark wash jean shorts, and her heeled black slouch ankle boots. She ran a hand through her chocolate wavy locks and then grabbed her purse before she went downstairs.
"Ari, I think your friends are here." Rachel said as Ariella came downstairs. "Thanks mom. Oh, Hayley and Tatiana are coming over afterwards to get ready." Ariella said grabbing her purse of the hook by the door. "Okay, that's fine. Have fun." Rachel called from the kitchen. "I will mom, bye." Ariella called back. Ariella ran her hand through her hair once more before she left.
"Your hair looks gorgeous Ari!" Tatiana squealed as the three girls left the hair salon. "Thanks. Yours is really pretty too." Ariella said linking her arm through Tatiana's. She held her other arm to Hayley and she did the same."Okay bitches. Let's go get our nails done." Ariella said making her friends laugh.
The three girls were walking towards the exit when Ariella remembered that she needed a pair of shoes to go with her prom dress. "Shit!" Ariella cursed. "What's wrong girl?" Tatiana asked the flustered girl. "I just realized that I don't have a pair of shoes to go with my dress." Ariella said to her friend. "Then let's go get you a pair." Tatiana said leading the two girls to the shoe store.
They got to the shoe store and Ariella began looking at the heels. "I found the perfect pair." Tatiana said holding up a pair of black strappy sandals. "Those are so cute. Do you think they have them in my size?" Ariella asked her friend. "I already told the guy your size. He's going to get them now." Tatiana said smirking. The guy came back a few minutes later and handed Ariella the shoes. She set the box down on one of the chairs and slipped off one of her boots. She grabbed a shoe out of the box and gracefully slipped it onto her foot. She hobbled over to the full length mirror and looked at how the shoe looked. "Oh my god." Tatiana and Hayley gasped at the same time. "What? What is it?" Ariella asked turning to her friends. "Girl, you need to get these shoes. They are fucking gorgeous on you." Tatiana grinned. "Then it's settled. I'm getting them." Ariella said taking off the heel and putting her boot back on.
The girls got back to Ariella's house and were laughing as they walked inside. "What's so funny, girls?" Rachel asked the three teenagers. "Nothing, mom. Just girl stuff." Ariella said as she and her friends walked into the kitchen.
The girls walked into the kitchen and saw Ben and Noah sitting at the kitchen table. "Hey daddy. Hey Ben." Ariella said walking over to the fridge. "Hello girls. Did you guys have fun at the mall?" Noah asked his daughter and her friends. "Yep. We got our hair and nails done and I got a pair of shoes to go with my prom dress." Ariella said uncapping the milk and taking a long pull from the bottle. "ARIELLA MARIE!" Rachel screeched as she watched her daughter take a sip from the bottle of milk. She grabbed the milk out of her daughter's hand and recapped it. "Hey! I was drinking that!" Ariella cried indignantly. "Not out of the bottle you're not. Grab a glass and pour some milk in it if you're thirsty." Rachel watched her daughter grab a glass out of the cupboard behind her. "Haha. The princess got in trouble." Ben laughed at his sister. "You aren't any better mister." Rachel scolded her son. Ariella smirked and downed the rest of the milk in her glass. "Well, I'd love to stay and chat but Tatiana, Hayley, and I are going to go get ready for prom." Ariella said as she and her friends left the kitchen and went upstairs to her room.
The three girls flopped onto the queen sized bed laughing. "Okay girl, spill." Tatiana said looking at Hayley. "What are you talking about?" Hayley asked blushing madly. "I'm talking about you and Alex Hirsch. Duh." Tatiana said matter-of-factly. "We're going to prom together. Big deal." Hayley said looking down and blushing. "Girl, I see you blushing. You can't fool me. I know you like him." Tatiana said nudging Hayley's shoulder. "I do not!" Hayley cried slapping her friends shoulder. "Jeez girl. That hurt." Tatiana said rubbing her arm. "Guys can we please stop fighting and start getting ready?" Ariella asked getting off the bed and walking over to her closet. "Hayley and I left our dresses in my car. We'll be right back." Tatiana said and she and Hayley left.
Ariella was holding her dress against her and admiring her reflection when her mom walked into her room. "The dress is gorgeous." Rachel pointed out as she sat down on her daughter's bed. "Oh, thanks. I got it with Aunt Tana about a month ago." Ariella said laying the dress carefully on the bed and then sitting down next to her mom. "Anyway, I wanted to give you something. Your papa gave it to me the night of my prom and now I want you to have it." Rachel said handing Ariella a medium sized black felt box. "Mom, I can't accept this." Ariella said handing her mom the box. "You can and you will. Open it sweetie." Rachel prodded her daughter. Ariella took a deep breath and opened the box. Nestled in the box was an amethyst necklace. "Mom, it's gorgeous. Thank you." Ariella said setting the necklace on the bed and hugging her mom. "I'm glad you like it." Rachel said and hugged her daughter.
After a few more minutes of talking Rachel left and Ariella's friends came back. "Okay chicas. Let's get sexy." Tatiana smirked.
Three hours later the girls finished getting ready. Ariella was putting on her earrings when the doorbell went off. "Girls, your dates are here." Rachel called up the stairs. Ariella adjusted her dress and then looked at her friends. Tatiana was wearing a dark blue satin prom dress. It was strapless and had a sweetheart neckline with a cluster of jewels under the bust. She was wearing a pair of strappy sandals and her hair was piled on top of her head. "I'll go down first. Then Hayley can come down after me." Tatiana said and then walked downstairs.
"Hayley, you look really pretty. Alex is going to have a nosebleed." Ariella gushed. Hayley was wearing a red halter neck dress that had a slit up the side and a pair of silver strappy heels. Her makeup was light and her hair was in a sexy side bun. "Okay, I'm going to go join the fray downstairs. Come down when you're ready." Hayley said. Ariella heard the click of Hayley's heels as she walked the down the stairs and sighed. She walked over to her bed and picked up the black felt box that her mother had given her earlier. She opened it up and took out the necklace. She was about to clasp the necklace around her neck when she felt two calloused hands on her shoulders. Ariella looked in the mirror and saw her dad standing behind her. He took the necklace out of her hands and clasped it for her. "You look beautiful baby girl." Noah said looking at his daughter's reflection.
Ariella was wearing a strapless purple dress. The dress had a sweetheart neckline and a slit up the side. There were a cluster of gems a few inches above the slit. Her wavy brown locks were swept to the side and draped over her shoulder.
"Thanks dad." Ariella said giving her dad a hug. "C'mon, let's get you downstairs." Noah said as he followed his daughter down the stairs.
Aaron heard footsteps on the stairs and turned around to see Ariella walking down the stairs. "Wow. Ariella, you look gorgeous." Aaron said pecking her cheek. Ariella blushed and looked down. "Thank you. You look very handsome yourself." Ariella said as Aaron slipped the corsage on her wrist. "Okay pictures everyone." Rachel said grabbing the camera. "Mom! Dad do something!" Ariella pleaded. "Baby, just take a few pictures and then let them go." Noah said kissing his wife's cheek. "Oh, alright. Okay everyone, I want a group picture and then you can go." Rachel said as everyone clumped together. Rachel snapped the picture and then everyone left.
Ariella and Aaron walked into the gym with Tatiana, Hayley, Alex, and Tatiana's date following them. "Hey Aaron. Want to dance?" Kaylee Lewis asked walking up to him. Kaylee was wearing a light pink short satin prom dress. It was strapless and had a sweetheart neckline. It also had a rhinestone belt and it fell a few inches below her ass. "I don't think so." Tatiana said pushing Kaylee away from Aaron. "Don't make me show you how we do it in Lima Heights Adjacent." Tatiana said crossing her arms and glaring at the redhead. "Tatiana, I've got this." Ariella said stepping in front of her friend. "Look Cherri-ho, I've had it with you trying to get with my boyfriend. Let's settle this with a sing off." Ariella said glaring at Kaylee. "Fine, but I go first." Kaylee said and walked over to the DJ. Ariella looked at her friends as the music started. They turned to the stage as Kaylee began singing.
You promised me that I'd be
The only one you'd ever love
And all of our dreams would come true
And I could always count on you
Liar, cheater
I bet you break more hearts than anyone
Loser, leaver
Sometimes I think you do it just for fun
Liar
You said the stars were all ours
And that heaven's just a kiss away
And when we were old you would hole me
And love me 'til our dying day
Liar, cheater
I bet you break more hearts than anyone
Loser, leaver
Sometimes I think you do it just for fun
Liar
Love's gonna get you back someday
Love's gonna get you hey, hey, hey
Love's gonna be the price you pay
Liar, cheater
I bet you break more hearts than anyone
Loser, leaver
Sometimes I think you do it just for fun
Liar
Kaylee finished singing and smirked at Ariella as she walked off stage. She walked up to Aaron and pulled him into a passionate kiss. Ariella felt tears prick the corners of her eyes but blinked them back. "Not bad, but I can beat that." Ariella taunted before walking up on stage and grabbing the microphone from the DJ. The music started playing and Ariella started singing.
Hey boy I would of thought that when you left me
I'd be broken with my confidence gone.. so bummed..
Hey boy I would of thought that when you said that you don't want me
I'd feel ugly n sense something was wrong
Standing in front of the mirror.. my skin's never been clearer
My smile's never been brighter
I look so good without you
Got me a new hairdo
Lookin' fresh n brand new
Since you said "that we're through"
Done.. with your lies
Baby now my tears dried
You can see my brown eyes
Ever since you said goodbye
I look so good, I look so good without you
I look so good, I look so good without you
Hey I'd never would of thought that when you left me
I'd feel sexy n so good in my skin again
And I'd never would of known that
I'd be dreamin' so much better without you in my head
Standing in front of the mirror.. my clothes never fit better
My life's never been brighter
I look so good without you
Got me a new hairdo
Lookin' fresh n brand new
Since you said "that we're through"
Done.. with your lies
Baby now my tears dried
You can see my brown eyes
Ever since you said goodbye
I look so good, I look so good without you
I look so good, I look so good without you
Now baby my body's lookin' better than before
Ain't bitin' my nails since you walked out of that door
I realized now I deserve so much more than what you give
Than what you give (than what you give..)
I look so good without you
Got me a new hairdo
Lookin' fresh n brand new
Since you said "that we're through"
I look so good without you
Got me a new hairdo
Lookin' fresh n brand new
Since you said "that we're through"
Done.. with your lies
Baby now my tears dried
You can see my brown eyes
Ever since you said goodbye
I look so good without you
Got me a new hairdo
Lookin' fresh n brand new
Since you said "that we're through"
Done.. with your lies
Baby now my tears dried
You can see my brown eyes
Ever since you said goodbye
I look so good ,I look so good without you
I look so good, I look so good without you
Ariella finished singing and then walked off the stage towards her friends. "Girl that was fucking amazing!" Tatiana squealed as she enveloped the girl in a hug. Ariella hugged her friend back and then walked up to her ex-boyfriend. She looked between him and Kaylee before bursting into tears and running out of the room.
Ariella walked over to the football field and sat down on the bleachers. "You okay?" Ariella looked up and saw Dylan standing in front of her. "I'm fine. Would you mind taking me home though?" Ariella asked wiping away a few stray tears. "Sure. C'mon let's get you home." Dylan said as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders and led her to his car.
Ariella waved at Dylan as he drove off and then walked inside. "Ari is that you?" her mom called from the family room. "Yeah mom, it's me. I'm going to go upstairs and change." Ariella replied before going upstairs.
After Ariella had changed and wiped off her makeup, she went downstairs to the basement. She saw her dad sitting on the couch idly strumming his guitar and sat down next to him. "Hey baby girl. What's wrong?" Noah asked his daughter. "I don't want to talk about it." Ariella said as a few tears slipped down her cheeks. "C'mere." Noah said opening his arms so she could hug him. Ariella snuggled into her dad's embrace and silently sobbed into his chest. "Shh, I've got you." He said before beginning to sing softly.
Baby mine, don't you cry.
Baby mine, dry your eyes.
Rest your head close to my heart,
never to part, baby of mine.
Little one, when you play,
pay no heed what they say.
Let your eyes sparkle and shine,
never to tear, baby of mine.
If they knew all about you,
they'd end up loving you too.
All those same people who scold you,
what they'd give just for the right to hold you.
From your head down to your toes,
you're not much, goodness knows.
But, your soul precious to me,
sweet as can be, baby of mine.
"Is everything okay down here?" Rachel asked walking into the basement. Noah looked down at his now sleeping daughter and smiled. "Everything's fine. I'm going to take her up to bed." Noah said picking his daughter up bridal style and carrying her upstairs to her room. He laid her in her bed and pulled the covers over her. He pecked her forehead and turned out the light before heading to bed himself.
The next morning Ariella woke up and went downstairs for some breakfast. As she grabbed the jug of orange juice out of the fridge she started singing.
Won't be so easy,
This time to hurt me
You can try, and this time, oh baby, there are no tears left here to dry
If you think you can wound me like before, if you think you can do that anymore
Wont get to far, no
You can't break a broken heart, so try your best now baby
Try your best to break me, you can't break a broken heart
No damage you can do now, I'm immune to you now, you can't break what broke apart
Theres nothing you can do to me no more
You can't break a broken heart
Hurt me before now,
Wont hurt no more now
Not this time
You might do better messin with someone else's mind
Cause your not gonna break me down again
Your done and through with me the way you did
Its gone to far
And you can't break a broken heart, so try your best now baby
Try your best to break me, you can't break a broken heart
No damage you can do now, I'm immune to you now, you can't break what broke apart
There's nothing you can do to me no more
You can't break a broken heart
So don't waste your time
Your time has come and gone
What are you here for?
You can't hurt me anymore
So try your best now baby, try your best to break me
You can't break a broken heart
No damage you can do now, I'm immune to you now
You can't break what broke apart
Theres nothing you can do to me no more
You can't break a broken heart
So try your best now baby, try your best to break me
You can't break a broken heart
No damage you can do now, I'm immune to you now
You can't break what broke apart
Theres nothing you can do to me no more
You can't break a broken heart
Break a broken heart
"That was amazing honey." Rachel said walking towards her daughter. "Thanks mom. I just needed to get the drama of last night off my chest and what better way than to sing about it." Ariella explained. "You are definitely my daughter." Rachel chuckled before pulling Ariella into a hug. "Mom, how would you feel if I signed up for glee?" Rachel's eyes widened before she squealed loudly. "Oh honey, I'd be ecstatic. You know your father and I were in glee together." Rachel said as she started making waffles. "Yeah mom, I know. You've told Ben and I a million times about you and dad being in glee." Ariella replied taking a sip of her juice. "Can you help me pick out an audition song?" she asked her mom as she put her glass in the dishwasher. "Of course sweetie. I'll even help you rehearse it." Rachel said handing her daughter a plate of waffles. "Thanks mom. You're the best." Ariella said before digging into her food.
A few hours later, Ariella was in the kitchen getting a glass of water when the doorbell rang. "I'll get it!" Ariella called out. She walked over to the front door and opened it. "Aaron what are you doing here?" she spat. "I'm here to apologize." he said hanging his head in shame. "You don't have to apologize. Just get off my property before I have my dad come out here and beat you with his guitar." Ariella said crossing her arms over her chest. "Alright. See you around, I guess." Aaron said and walked off. Ariella closed the door and walked back downstairs into the basement. "Everything okay sweetie?" Rachel asked her daughter. "Yeah mom, everything's fine." Ariella said and sat down at the piano next to her mom.
The next day at school Ariella walked into the choir room and saw a boy playing the guitar and singing. She listened to him sing before making her presence known.
You know I'd fall apart without you
I don't know how you do what you do
'Cause everything that don't make sense about me
Makes sense when I'm with you
Like everything that's green, girl, I need you
But it's more than one and one makes two
Put aside the math and the logic of it
You gotta know you're wanted too
'Cause I wanna wrap you up
Wanna kiss your lips
I wanna make you feel wanted
And I wanna call you mine
Wanna hold your hand forever
And never let you forget it
Yeah, I, I wanna make you feel wanted
Anyone can tell you you're pretty, yeah
And you get that all the time, I know you do
But your beauty's deeper than the make-up
And I wanna show you what I see tonight...
When I wrap you up
When I kiss your lips.
I I wanna make you feel wanted
And I wanna call you mine
Wanna hold your hand forever
And never let you forget it
'Cause, baby, I, I wanna make you feel wanted
As good as you make me feel
I wanna make you feel better
Better than your fairy tales
Better than your best dreams
You're more than everything I need
You're all I ever wanted
All I ever wanted
And I just wanna wrap you up
Wanna kiss your lips
I wanna make you feel wanted
And I wanna call you mine
Wanna hold your hand forever
And never let you forget it
Yeah, I wanna make you feel wanted
Baby, I wanna make you feel wanted
You'll always be wanted
"That was awesome." Ariella said walking into the choir room. "Were you there the whole time?" he asked looking at her. "Yeah. You were really good. I'm Ariella by the way. It's nice to meet you." Ariella said sitting down next to him. "I'm Nate. It's nice to meet you." He replied smiling at her. "You're a really good singer." Ariella said blushing. "Thanks. Do you sing?" He asked her. "Yeah, a little bit. Why?" Ariella asked. "Sing something for me?" He asked smirking. "Okay but I'm not as good as you." Ariella said grabbing her iPod and looking for a good song to sing. Ariella got up and cleared her throat before beginning to sing.
There's a girl
Who sits under the bleachers
Just another day eating alone
And though she smiles
There is something just hiding
And she cant find a way to relate
She just goes unnoticed
As the crowd passes by
And she'll pretend to be busy
When inside she just wants to cry
She'll say...
Take a little look at the life of Miss Always Invisible
Look a little closer, I really really want you to put yourself in her shoes
Take another look at the face of Miss Always Invisible
Look a little harder and maybe then you will see why she waits for the day
When you'll ask her her name
The beginning, in the first weeks of class
She did everything to try and fit in
But the others they couldn't seem to get past all the things that mismatched on the surface
And she would close her eyes when they left and she fell down the stairs
And the more that they joked
And the more that they screamed
She retreated to where she is now
And she'll sing...
Take a little look at the life of Miss Always Invisible
Look a little harder I really really want you to put yourself in her shoes
Take a little look at the face of Miss Always Invisible
Look a little closer and maybe then you will see why she waits for the day that you will ask her...her name
And one day just the same as the last
Just the days been in counting the time
Came a boy that sat under the bleachers just a little bit further behind...
"What did you think?" Ariella asked him. "You were awesome sweetie." Rachel cried walking into the choir room. "Mom?! What are you doing here?" Ariella asked shocked.
