A/N: ok so I know I haven't updated this in forever and i said I was done with it, but I got really bored and wrote another chapter. I can't promise that I'll keep writing it, but at least I wrote this. I have no idea if this story will continue simply because I have no plot ideas for it. So if you have any ideas just tell me through a review or send a message to me and I'll try to write it.
"Hey!" I shouted.
"Love, as my hostage, I have a say in your interactions with others and I say that you're finished."
"Fine, then. Take away my phone but you can't just crush it whenever you fucking feel like it." I started whining, which in retrospect probably wasn't the best idea. I mean, I was talking to a psychotic killer.
Suddenly I was pinned against a wall, Klaus glared murderously at me. "You'll find that I can do whatever I like Caroline." I shivered as Klaus ran his hand down my cheek in a motion that could only be described as caressing. "Now be a good little captive and run along to your room before you make me do something I'll regret."
He didn't have to tell me twice. Within seconds I was back in my little room. It didn't take long before I broke down crying on my bed. I missed Stefan who would come to me when I was upset.
If he were here right now he would take me in his arms and rock me. He would whisper reassurances in my ear. God I wanted him here! I wanted Bonnie and Elena too. Then we could curl up in the bed and talk for hours or watch a movie. I would even settle for having Damon here.
Despite our previous problems, Damon and I now got along amazingly. For me Damon was the older brother who teases you, but when in trouble would fight to the death for you. Of course, withholding that information from Klaus was probably the best thing to do right now.
I felt more tears rush down my face as I thought of my friends. Oh and my mom, she must be so worried. I remembered the song my mom would sing when I was sad. So I began to sing.
Lay your sleeping head, my love,
Human on my faithless arm;
Time and fevers burn away
Individual beauty from
Thoughtful children, and the grave
Proves the child ephemeral:
But in my arms till break of day
Let the living creature lie,
Mortal, guilty, but to me
The entirely beautiful.
Soul and body have no bounds:
To lovers as they lie upon
Her tolerant enchanted slope
In their ordinary swoon,
Grave the vision Venus sends
Of supernatural sympathy,
Universal love and hope;
While an abstract insight wakes
Among the glaciers and the rocks
The hermit's carnal ecstasy.
Certainty, fidelity
On the stroke of midnight pass
Like vibrations of a bell,
And fashionable madmen raise
Their pedantic boring cry:
Every farthing of the cost,
All the dreaded cards foretell,
Shall be paid, but from this night
Not a whisper, not a thought,
Not a kiss nor look be lost.
Beauty, midnight, vision dies:
Let the winds of dawn that blow
Softly round your dreaming head
Such a day of welcome show
Eye and knocking heart may bless,
Find the mortal world enough;
Noons of dryness find you fed
By the involuntary powers,
Nights of insult let you pass
Watched by every human love.
"That was beautiful Love, truly beautiful." I turned to see Klaus standing in my doorway yet again.
"What do you want now? If you're here to kill me, just get it over with."
He had the audacity to look affronted. "My dear, what do you take me for? I simply wished to tell you that one of my hybrids went out and got you some clothes and other necessities. Also I wondered if you would care to join me for dinner?"
"Oh well, thanks but no thanks. Your diet isn't really something I take part in. I flat out refuse to drink anything but animal."
"I assumed so. I also thought that your friends would fight harder if they thought you were desiccated. So therefore, I got one of my hybrids to go get a deer for you."
"Umm, ya just give me a sec. I'll be right out."
A/N: The song was Lullaby by W. H. Auden
