Chapter 3: The Travel

Bella woke up to the coven packing up again as usual. They only stayed around for a few days at the most before people in the cities start to see a connection with the death of people. Edward poured water over the fire and looked up to see James tying her wrists again. "James, no need," he told him. James let her go and Edward kneeled in front of her. "Will you willingly go with me?" He asked.

"I have no other choice," she replied.

Edward grabbed onto her arm and pulled her onto his back. Bella sighed, closing his eyes. She never knew where they were going since they ran so fast she kept her eyes closed so she would not get sick. She tried once to see where they were, but the speed of the signs made her motion sick and she could not even eat the dinner Edward brought for her that night. She wrapped her arm around his neck and her legs around his hips. "Ready?" He asked.

"Sure…" she replied dejectedly.

Edward made sure she was securely on his back before he ran off with the rest of his coven. Bella buried her face into his back as he started running.

When the coven made their stop that night, Bella opened her eyes to see that she and Edward were in front of a hotel. "What are we doing here?" She asked curiously.

"You need to clean up," he replied.

Bella bit her lower lip as Edward picked the lock on one of the rooms and went inside. He locked the door and threw his pick on the dresser. "I'm sure you can find the shower," he told her. Bella walked by him and went into the bathroom, closing and locking the door behind her. She looked around to see if there was a way out, but the window was too small or her to get out. She bit her lower lip as she walked over to the shower and turned it on. She stripped off her clothes and climbed into the shower, the spray of hot water hit her cold skin, making her gasp. She leaned against the wall of the shower with tears pressing against her eyes. She slowly sank to the floor, crying softly. This wasn't how she wanted her life to turn out. She was mentally tortured by these vampires, she preferred the torture of them taking her blood but not the torture that she was being kept as someone's pet.

Bella washed herself, feeling herself falling apart even more when she heard a knock on the door. "Bella, hurry up we have to go," Edward called to her. She turned the water off and climbed out of the shower wrapping one of the towels around herself when Edward came in. "I think these will fit you," he told her, placing a set of clothes on the counter. She nodded and watched him leave. She brushed her hair out with the comb that was on top of the clothes before pulling on the undergarments, jeans, and long-sleeved purple shirt. She pulled on her shoes and walked out of the bathroom. "Ready?" He asked.

"Yes," she replied quietly.

She wrapped her arms around his torso again once they were out of the room and he took off running once more.

They arrived at their hiding place and Edward set her down on the ground. Bella looked into the newly built fire, holding one knee up while one was stretched out in front of her. She stared into the flames while she listened to the whispering not too far from her. They always whispered, they never glanced at her. Edward refused to let any of them anywhere near her. She looked around and saw that Edward was gone. She swallowed and slowly stood up from the ground. "What are you doing?" James asked. Bella grabbed a burning stick and threw it at them before she took off running. "GET HER!" James shouted.

Bella ran into the forest, running down the hills an going over the logs. She tripped and fell, the knee of her jeans ripping. She got back up and let out a scream when someone grabbed her. "You stupid human!" James snapped pushing her hair aside.

"JAMES!" A voice roared.

Bella felt her heart skip a beat and Edward shoved James off her. "Touch her again and that will be the last thing you ever do!," Edward snapped. He grabbed onto Bella's arm, yanking her close to him.

"Just kill her already!" he snapped.

Edward growled and slammed James into a tree. "Who is the leader of this coven? You?" He asked angrily. James remained silent. "WHO!?" Edward shouted.

"You are," James hissed angrily.

"You will not touch her! Never again!" Edward answered.

He threw James to the ground before grabbing Bella's arm and had her go back to the camp. "Nice escape plan, did you think you could outrun vampires?" He asked.

"It's better than being trapped in this hellhole," she replied.

Edward had her sit back down and looked at her bloody kneecap. "Sorry you feel that," he told her as he grabbed a hold of her ankle when she tried to pull her leg away.

"Let go of me," she snapped trying to pull her leg from his grasp wincing when his grip only tightened.

"Knock it off," he hissed.

He pulled her leg back to him and started cleaning the scrape on her knee before wrapping it out with clean rags. He looked at her face to see a cut on her face from when she hit the floor and went to take care of that when she jerked her head to one side to keep her from touching him, when he tried again she shoved his hand away. He hissed and threw the rag at her. "Stupid human," he hissed as he built a fire.

"Stupid vampire," she answered.

"Yeah well this stupid vampire makes sure the coven doesn't have you for dinner," he told her.

"Well let them," she answered.

Edward gave her a glare and before she could react, she was suddenly on her back and he had her arms pinned. "Get off me!" She snapped trying to get him off her. She gasped when he wrapped hand around her throat.

"You're walking on a fine line here," he hissed.

She glared at him and tried to free her grip. "Your place is here and here is where you will stay," he snapped.

"I'll die first!" She hissed.

Edward growled before releasing her arms, walking away from her. Bella bit her lower lip, rubbing her arms with a small sob. She pressed her hand against her forehead, sniffling. "I'm in hell," she sobbed, putting her hands over her face. She curled up on the blankets and cried herself to sleep.

Edward was walking through the forest, ripping off the shirt he was wearing since it was torn apart from the person he had attacked. He walked down the hill and threw the shirt on the ground, burying it. "This was not the life you wanted," he muttered to himself. He continued walking through the forest, trying to get back to his camp when he suddenly heard a scream. He took off vampire speed back to the camp when he found James once again attempting to attack Bella. "JAMES!" He shouted. He ran over and ripped the other vampire off her, going into the crouching position in front of her. "You know exactly how to irritate me!" He snapped.

"She is fresh meat! You go hunting when your prize is right there!" James snapped.

"I will do what I see fit with her! You will not touch her, you, Victoria, or Laurent will not touch her! Is that understood?!" Edward roared.

James hissed but he left her alone. Edward looked over at Bella before sitting in his spot on the other side of the fire, watching her. Bella bit her lower lip as she lied down and slowly fell into a restless sleep.
