Chapter 6: Unwanted Feelings
Another month went by and they finally caught up with the rest of the coven. However, Bella was still curious about why Edward had a wrist cuff with the Cullen crest sitting on it. She would look at the wrist cuff while he was on his hunts, just wondering what his past story was.
Bella was walking around the camp, but making sure she wouldn't go too far. She was walking around the side of a creek before she stopped and looked into the water. She sat down on the stones and held one up, before tossing into the water, watching the ripples form. The weather was a little warmer so she wasn't freezing to death like she usually was. She crossed her arms over her chest and let out a sigh. "I brought you food," Edward informed setting a basket next to her.
"Thanks," she answered.
Edward sat next to her and the sun started to come up. She looked over at Edward to see him staring at the water, his skin sparkling from the sun. "Wow…" she whispered. She saw the Cullen's skin sparkle, but seeing Edward this way made her heart skip a beat. "Edward, did you know there are other ways to survive on a different blood source?" She asked. Edward glanced at her.
"I'm aware of the other ways," he replied.
"But why do you stay this way?" She asked.
"I have my reasons," he replied with a small growl.
Bella bit her lower lip and looked back at the water. "Sorry, I didn't mean to snap," he told her. She rubbed her hands together, looking into the water. She lied back on the ground and looked over to see Edward lying next to her. She smiled a little, one of her hands resting over her stomach. "Why aren't you afraid of me?" he asked.
"I think not attacking me when my arm was dripping blood was the biggest reason why I'm not afraid of you," she replied.
She looked into his bright red eyes, smiling a little. "You're not as evil as you made yourself out to be," she said quietly. He closed his eyes for a second, letting out an unneeded breath.
"You're a different kind of human," he answered.
Bella looked up at the sky and sighed. "Tell me, what are you thinking?" He asked quietly. She was silent for a little while.
"I'm thinking about my dad, how worried he has to be about me," she replied.
She cleared her throat and looked back at him. "What did you like to do in your human life?" She asked. He chuckled lightly.
"You want to ask me about my human life?" He asked.
"Yeah," she replied.
Edward sighed. "I used to and when I get the chance I still like to play the piano. I was attached to my father's old piano when I was a kid. Just the feel of writing music and then composing it, it feels great," he explained.
"I have no musical talent whatsoever," she laughed.
Edward chuckled softly and looked back at her. "Am I just going to be your prisoner for the rest of my life?" She asked. He suddenly reached out and stroked her face. She gasped softly, feeling his cold hand on her skin, but she felt electricity zap through her system from his touch. She bit her lower lip and leaned into his touch.
Feeling her warm skin touching his cold hand made Edward feel different. He looked into her brown eyes to suddenly notice her staring at him with adoration. Their faces were close together, their noses were almost touching. Every part of him was telling him to kiss her but he pulled away. "I have to hunt," he told her. He got up from the ground and disappeared into the forest.
Bella sat up and cleared her throat, her face was burning with embarrassment. "What are you doing?! What about Jacob?! He's probably out there searching for you!" Her mind screamed at her. It was most likely true that her boyfriend was out there searching for her, however, she couldn't stop her hammering heart. She pressed her hand against her forehead and let out a deep breath. She shook her head a little and pulled at the sleeves of her long-sleeved purple shirt. She stood up from the ground, wiping the dirt off her jeans.
As Bella walked back over to her spot, she saw the coven staring at her with intense eyes. She sat down nervously and took a stick, drawing random designs into the ground.
Edward was walking through the forest trying to calm himself. "Not a human, not a human, not a human," he kept telling himself. He grabbed onto a branch and swung over a ravine just for the hell of it. He then climbed up another tree and sat on the branch. He reached into his pants pocket and pulled out the wrist cuff that he always kept with him. He messed with the broken threads that used to hold it together and sat back against the tree. "This isn't how it was supposed to be," he said to the sky. He closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Dammit," he cursed under his breath.
This human was so different to him, on hunts he just now wanted to get them done so he could get back to her. Before he would just go on his hunts and force his coven to keep an eye on her. Now he couldn't wait to see her. He never wanted a human's blood so badly, but with every chance he had of taking her blood he couldn't. She basically handed it to him and he didn't do anything. He didn't want to hurt her, he couldn't explain the feelings going through his system. He never felt this way before, women were in lust, infatuated with him, but this was the first time he was feeling these things towards the young woman back at his camp.
Edward shook his head slightly. He refused to let himself get close, she was a human and every moment he was with her brought her closer to death. That was how it was supposed to be, for her to live a human life and for him to be cursed with this life forever. She was beautiful, she had to have a boyfriend back at the town she was taken from. She was too beautiful for any man to pass up on her. Now that he had her with him for over two months, he was starting to get to know her. Everything about her made him smile, even her clumsiness made him chuckle. It was adorable to him, amusing. He growled and stuffed the wrist cuff back into his pocket before jumping down from the tree, heading back to the camp.

Alice was running with her husband when she suddenly stopped. Jasper realized she wasn't beside him and stopped. "Wait!" He called out. The rest of the coven stopped and were about to get the werewolves to stop when Alice shook her head.
"Don't make them stop," she told them.
"Why what happened?" Carlisle asked.
Alice looked at her family with confusion on her face. "Bella's future changed," she replied.
"What do you mean it changed?" Jasper asked.
She looked at him and started running again. "What do you mean her future changed?" Jasper asked her.
"You know how before with Bella's future it was always dark?" She asked.
"Right," Carlisle replied.
Alice jumped over a creek with the rest of the family behind her. "I saw her future again, it was clear as day," she told them.
"What did you see?" Esme asked.
She wasn't sure if she could say it, it was too shocking. "I saw her with bright red eyes," she replied.
They had stopped for the night and the Cullens moved aside so the pack couldn't hear them. "What do you mean her eyes were bright red?" Emmett asked.
"I mean Bella's eyes were as red as ours were when we were first turned," she replied.
"Wait, wait, wait are you saying these vampires are going to turn Bella into a vampire?" Rosalie asked.
"I don't know that part, the other person she was with was fuzzy I couldn't see them," she replied sitting down.
"Are you sure you saw her with red eyes?" Carlisle asked.
"I'm positive," Alice replied.
Rosalie looked at the family. "We should find her before they do turn her, then it'll be hell to pay for all of us because that mutt out there will kill every last vampire," she told them. Carlisle rubbed the back of his neck and nodded.
"We leave at dawn," he told his family.

Back at the nomad camp, Edward was sitting by the fire while Bella was lying on her side staring at him. "Is there something interesting you're staring at?" He asked.
"Just you," she replied.
"Why?" He asked.
She shrugged and let out a sigh. "Will I ever see my family again?" She asked quietly. He glanced over at his coven to see them watching closely.
"I don't know," he replied throwing a twig into the fire.
Bella bit her lower lip and closed her eyes. Edward walked over and sat behind her, stroking her hair. "Just rest," he whispered. She sniffled as an uneasy sleep took over her. He continued stroking her hair and let out a sigh.
James looked over at Laurent and Victoria. "He's getting too close to that human," he hissed quietly.
"Yeah and we try to go near her again Edward is fast he could get us," Laurent answered.
"Three against one? Really?" James asked critically.
"What do you suggest we do?" Victoria asked, moving her fingers over her mate's arm.
James grinned as he grabbed a hold of her hand and kissed her wrists. "We wait until he's gone on his hunt, then we attack," he replied. They grinned and looked over at the human that their leader was comforting. "Keep your minds cleared, or he'll know," he added.
"Right," Victoria answered.
"I get the girl, you hold her down," James hissed quietly.
"And why do you think that you get the girl?" Laurent asked.
"Because I said so that's why," James hissed quietly.
He looked over at Bella. "She's mine," he hissed. Victoria saw more than just hunger in her mate's eyes and she glared over at the human.
"Stupid little human, he's mine," her mind hissed, unconsciously grabbing James's arm.
James grinned as he grabbed Victoria and pulled her into the forest.
Edward watched as James and Victoria disappeared and looked back at Bella. She unconsciously turned around and rested her head on his knee. He smiled a little and moved his fingers over her cheek. "Such a beautiful human," he whispered softly. He leaned forward and buried his nose in her hair, taking in her scent.
In her dreams, Bella was dreaming about meeting Edward in a different time, a different place. Nothing could touch them, but then there was Jacob in her dreams. Jacob and Edward telling her she had to choose.
She whimpered softly in her sleep, gripping his shirt. "Edward…" she whispered. Edward stroked her hair and looked up at the moonlight, letting out an unneeded breath.
"What have I done?" He whispered to himself.
