Chapter 15: Belonging
Bella was sitting in her room looking through her book when she just couldn't keep Edward off her mind anymore. She wanted to be with him, she didn't care anymore. She just wanted Edward. She was trying to be with him for seven months and it was painful that he pushed her away, but it didn't stop her from trying.
After sitting on her bed for a little while longer, Bella got up and looked towards the raining that was falling outside. She grabbed her jacket and climbed down the tree that was outside her window. She slipped and nearly hit the ground when she caught herself on the tree. She bit her lower lip and started walking into the forest.
As the thunder rolled the lightning lit up the forest, Bella continued to walk through the forest. "EDWARD!" She shouted her hands cupped around her mouth as she shouted. She started to slowly walk down one of the hills. "EDWARD! I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME!" She shouted.
She walked through the forest, the mud was splashing up onto her clothes. "EDWARD!" She shouted again. She found Edward standing against a boulder, not answering her. "Edward!" She called again. Edward looked up at her as if he heard her call for him for the first time.
"Bella…" he started.
Bella ran over and threw her arms around him. "What are you doing here?" He asked as he hugged her back, lifting her up off the ground.
"I want to be with you, I want you I don't care about any of this anymore. I want you Edward," she replied pulling away and gripping his shirt.
Edward stared at her, his hands on her waist. "Bella if I weren't dead already you would be the death of me," he told her. Bella looked up at him, her brown eyes staring into his topaz.
"Don't leave me, please, don't leave me here, take me with you," she whispered.
"What about Jacob and Charlie?" He asked.
"I just want you, please, take me with you Edward, Alice told me you were leaving please take me with you," she said practically begging.
Edward stared into her face. "Bella, you belong here with your family," he told her.
"NO!" she shouted grabbing onto his shirt again.
She looked up at him. "I belong with you!" She insisted. Edward stared at her, his hand on her face. "I love you please take me with you, don't leave me here please," She begged, holding onto him.
"Bella…" he started.
She stared up into his eyes. "Do you love me?" She asked.
"What kind of a question is that?" he asked a little irritated.
Bella continued staring at him. "If you could read my mind you would see how much I love you and want to be with you," she answered quietly. Edward sighed, moving his hands over her arms.
"Bella a life on the run, is not the life you would want," he told her.
"It is the life I want. As long as it is with you I want to be with you," she answered.
He moved his fingers up into her wet hair and sighed. "Bella…" he started.
"Please, take me with you, let me go with you," she answered.
Edward leaned forward and pressed his forehead to hers. "Bella, you can't come with me when I leave," he told her.
"But why?" She asked.
"This isn't the life I want you to have, living on the run? This isn't how I want you to live," he answered.
Bella closed her eyes. "I love you," she told him.
"I love you too but this would be easier if I was human and since there is no cure for that, we can't be together," he answered.
She sniffled and lowered her head. "I love you Bella, I will always love you, forever you have given me reason to live forever. I want you to live a life, Bella you need a life, a human life not a life with a vampire," he explained. She bit her lower lip and Edward kissed her forehead, wrapping his arms around her. "I will love you forever," he told her. Bella wrapped her arms around his neck and sniffled again.
"I will love you forever too," she answered.
Edward rubbed her back and closed his eyes tight. He kissed the side of her head and sighed. "If you loved me Bella, you would move on with Jacob, love Jake, have that family with him and be happy. I want you to be happy," he whispered into her hair.
"Happiness doesn't exist in my life if it isn't with you," she answered.
He pulled back, his hands on her face. "You think that now, but please, you need to forget me, pretend as if I never existed Bella. You need to, I am no good for you," he told her. Edward kissed her forehead again as she cried a little.
"Aw how adorable Edward," a voice sneered.
They pulled apart and looked over to see James standing there. "Forget me, I am no good for you," James mocked.
"I didn't know you were so sentimental Edward," Victoria said with a grin.
Laurent was leaning against a tree with a grin. "Now we see why you wouldn't kill her," he sneered.
"Just hand her over Edward and I can promise that her death will be quick and easy," James answered.
Edward had Bella stand behind him. "You won't touch her," he answered with a glare. James chuckled evilly.
"One against three, this'll be fun," Victoria commented.
"Go Bella go," Edward hissed.
Edward shoved her towards the trail back home when James went after her. "NO!" Edward shouted. He ran after James as the new leader of the nomads went after Bella.
Bella ran through the forest and screamed when James landed in front of her. He grabbed a hold of her throat and threw her hard, making her slam into a tree. Bella screamed, feeling the stitches on her head tear open. "Beautiful," he commented. Bella sat up holding her head with a groan as she sat up. James squatted down in front of her with a grin. "Hmm maybe I shouldn't kill you right away," he commented as he tried to pull open her blouse. Bella tried slapping his hand away when he grabbed her wrist, looking at her blood covered hand. "Too bad he didn't have the strength to turn you, instead he keeps you as this fragile little human, it's cruel really," he commented.
"Leave me alone," she groaned tried pushing him away.
James grinned as he ran his finger over her jaw. "I think we'll have some fun," he commented. Bella tried to get up when he stood up and stepped on her leg with no problem, snapping her shin like a twig. She let out a bloodcurdling scream. "There can't have you running off now," he added.
"EDWARD!" Bella screamed.
"You see here's the thing Bella, you know how bloodhounds lose a scent when the trail is wet? Same difference here, your precious Edward can't find you with the rain disguising your scent," he commented.
Bella tried crawling away from him the best she could when James grabbed her good leg and pulled her closer. "NO! GET AWAY!" She screamed.
"I have been waiting for this moment for a long time," he sneered.
He leaned forward and sniffed her neck, Bella's struggles just egging him on. "This will be fun," he commented.
"EDWARD! EDWARD I'M HERE!" She screamed.
He covered her mouth trying to muffle her screams. "I've been waiting months for this moment," he told her. He had just torn Bella's blouse open when someone crashed into him, knocking James right off Bella. Bella screamed once James' hand was away from her mouth to find Edward there.
"Edward!" She gasped.
Edward lifted her up into his arms and tried to run when James grabbed a hold of Edward, yanking him off his feet. Bella screamed as she hit the ground. The new Nomad leader grabbed Edward slamming him to the ground just as Victoria ran over to get Bella. "NO!" Edward shouted. He shoved James off him and grabbed Victoria, shoving her away from Bella. Just as he went to get Laurent off his back, he heard Bella let out another bloodcurdling scream. He looked over to see Bella lying on the ground with James biting her hand. "NO!" Edward roared. He ran over and shoved James off Bella again. Bella was screaming.
"EDWARD!" She screamed.
They looked up when howling was heard and took off running. Edward ran over to Bella, his hands on her face. "Oh God…" he started. He looked at her bloody hand.
"Do something!" Jacob snapped.
Edward held Bella's hand up to his mouth and started to suck out the venom from her hand just as the rest of the wolves showed up. Bella looked up into Edward's eyes with tears in her eyes. "Edward…" she whispered before unconsciousness took over her.
